27 فَقَرَّبَهُۥۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝٢٧ faqarrabahu ilayhim qāla alā takulūn and placed it before them. ‘Will you not eat?’ he said 28 فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِیفَةࣰۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفۡۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِیمࣲ ۝٢٨ fa-awjasa min'hum khīfatan qālū lā takhaf wabasharūhu bighulāmin ʿalīmi beginning to be afraid of them, but they said, ‘Do not be afraid.’ They gave him good news of a son who would be gifted with knowledge 29 فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ فِی صَرَّةࣲ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِیمࣱ ۝٢٩ fa-aqbalati im'ra-atuhu fī ṣarratin faṣakkat wajhahā waqālat ʿajūzun ʿaqīmu His wife then entered with a loud cry, struck her face, and said, ‘A barren old woman?’ 30 قَالُوا۟ كَذَ ٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٣٠ qālū kadhāliki qāla rabbuki innahu huwa l-ḥakīmu l-ʿalīm but they said, ‘It will be so. This is what your Lord said, and He is the Wise, the All Knowing.’
31 ۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٣١ qāla famā khaṭbukum ayyuhā l-mur'salūn Abraham said, ‘What is your errand, messengers?’
32 قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ مُّجۡرِمِینَ ۝٣٢ qālū innā ur'sil'nā ilā qawmin muj'rimīn They said, ‘We are sent to a people lost in sin 33 لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن طِینࣲ ۝٣٣ linur'sila ʿalayhim ḥijāratan min ṭīni to bring down rocks of clay 34 مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِینَ ۝٣٤ musawwamatan ʿinda rabbika lil'mus'rifīn marked by your Lord for those who exceed all bounds.’ 35 فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِیهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٣٥ fa-akhrajnā man kāna fīhā mina l-mu'minīn We brought out such believers as were there
