We fashioned you V

قُلْنَا qul'nā
We said V
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ lil'malāikati
to the Angels Noun
ٱسْجُدُوا۟ us'judū
Prostrate V
لِءَادَمَ liādama
to Adam Noun
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ fasajadū
So they prostrated V
إِلَّآ illā
except Prep
إِبْلِيسَ ib'līsa
Iblis Noun
لَمْ lam
Not Prep
يَكُن yakun
he was V
مِّنَ mina
of Prep
ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ l-sājidīna
those who prostrated Noun

We created you, We gave you shape, and then We said to the angels, ‘Bow down before Adam,’ and they did. But not Iblis: he was not one of those who bowed down

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ ثُمَّ صَوَّرۡنَـٰكُمۡ ثُمَّ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوۤا۟ إِلَّاۤ إِبۡلِیسَ لَمۡ یَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝١١

walaqad khalaqnākum thumma ṣawwarnākum thumma qul'nā lil'malāikati us'judū liādama fasajadū illā ib'līsa lam yakun mina l-sājidīn
