Hud 11:67 Noun
وَأَخَذَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ فِی دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ جَـٰثِمِینَ ۝٦٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen pron
Abdel Haleem: The blast struck the evildoers and they lay dead in their homes
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And the (awful) Cry overtook those who did wrong, so that morning found them prostrate in their dwellings
Hud 11:94 Noun
وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُنَا نَجَّیۡنَا شُعَیۡبࣰا وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحۡمَةࣲ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ فِی دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ جَـٰثِمِینَ ۝٩٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And when Our command came, We saved Shu'ayb and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us. And the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen pron
Abdel Haleem: When what We had ordained came about, in Our mercy We saved Shuayb and his fellow believers, but a mighty blast struck the wrongdoers. By morning they lay dead in their homes
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Shu'eyb and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; and the (Awful) Cry seized those who did injustice, and morning found them prostrate in their dwellings
The Rock, Stoneland, Rock City 15:73 Noun
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِینَ ۝٧٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So the shriek seized them at sunrise
Abdel Haleem: and the blast overtook them at sunrise
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِینَ ۝٨٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But the shriek seized them at early morning
Abdel Haleem: the blast overwhelmed them early in the morning
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour
The Believers 23:41 Noun
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ غُثَاۤءࣰۚ فَبُعۡدࣰا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people
Abdel Haleem: The blast justly struck them and We swept them away like scum. Away with the evildoers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk
The Spider 29:40 Noun
فَكُلًّا أَخَذۡنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ حَاصِبࣰا وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ أَخَذَتۡهُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ خَسَفۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ أَغۡرَقۡنَاۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَهُمۡ یَظۡلِمُونَ ۝٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves
Abdel Haleem: and We punished each one of them for their sins: some We struck with a violent storm; some were overcome by a sudden blast; some We made the earth swallow; and some We drowned. It was not God who wronged them; they wronged themselves
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. It was not for Allah to wrong them, but they wronged themselves
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:29 Noun
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَـٰمِدُونَ ۝٢٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished
Abdel Haleem: there was just one blast, and they fell down lifeless
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: It was but one Shout, and lo! they were extinct
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:49 Noun
مَا یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ تَأۡخُذُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ یَخِصِّمُونَ ۝٤٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing
Abdel Haleem: But all they are waiting for is a single blast that will overtake them while they are still arguing with each other
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:53 Noun
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ جَمِیعࣱ لَّدَیۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ ۝٥٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us
Abdel Haleem: It was just one single blast and then- lo and behold!- they were all brought before Us
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: It is but one Shout, and behold them brought together before Us
The Letter Sad 38:15 Noun
وَمَا یَنظُرُ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ إِلَّا صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقࣲ ۝١٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And these [disbelievers] await not but one blast [of the Horn]; for it there will be no delay
Abdel Haleem: all the disbelievers here are waiting for is a single blast that cannot be postponed
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: These wait for but one Shout, there will be no second thereto
The Letter Qaf 50:42 Noun
یَوۡمَ یَسۡمَعُونَ ٱلصَّیۡحَةَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمُ ٱلۡخُرُوجِ ۝٤٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves]
Abdel Haleem: They will come out [from their graves] on that Day, the Day when they hear the mighty blast in reality
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: The day when they will hear the (Awful) Cry in truth. That is the day of coming forth (from the graves)
The Moon 54:31 Noun
إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِیمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ۝٣١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen
Abdel Haleem: We released a single mighty blast against them and they ended up like a fencemaker’s dry sticks
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold
The Hypocrites 63:4 Noun
۞ وَإِذَا رَأَیۡتَهُمۡ تُعۡجِبُكَ أَجۡسَامُهُمۡۖ وَإِن یَقُولُوا۟ تَسۡمَعۡ لِقَوۡلِهِمۡۖ كَأَنَّهُمۡ خُشُبࣱ مُّسَنَّدَةࣱۖ یَحۡسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَیۡحَةٍ عَلَیۡهِمۡۚ هُمُ ٱلۡعَدُوُّ فَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡۚ قَـٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ أَنَّىٰ یُؤۡفَكُونَ ۝٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up - they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded
Abdel Haleem: When you see them [Prophet], their outward appearance pleases you; when they speak, you listen to what they say. But they are like propped-up tim-bers––they think every cry they hear is against them––and they are the enemy. Beware of them. May God confound them! How devious they are
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when thou seest them their figures please thee; and if they speak thou givest ear unto their speech. (They are) as though they were blocks of wood in striped cloaks. They deem every shout to be against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. Allah confound them! How they are perverted
