۞ وَلَوۡ یُعَجِّلُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ ٱلشَّرَّ ٱسۡتِعۡجَالَهُم بِٱلۡخَیۡرِ لَقُضِیَ إِلَیۡهِمۡ أَجَلُهُمۡۖ فَنَذَرُ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یَرۡجُونَ لِقَاۤءَنَا فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ١١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And if Allah was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke] as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them. But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindl
Abdel Haleem:
If God were to hasten on for people the harm [they have earned] as they wish to hasten on the good, their time would already be up. But We leave those who do not expect to meet Us to wander blindly in their excesses
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
If Allah were to hasten on for men the ill (that they have earned) as they would hasten on the good, their respite would already have expired. But We suffer those who look not for the meeting with Us to wander blindly on in their contumacy
The Bee 16:36
Noun
وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِی كُلِّ أُمَّةࣲ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ حَقَّتۡ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُۚ فَسِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ٣٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers
Abdel Haleem:
We sent a messenger to every community, saying, ‘Worship God and shun false gods.’ Among them were some God guided; misguidance took hold of others. So travel through the earth and see what was the fate of those who denied the truth
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And verily We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Serve Allah and shun false gods. Then some of them (there were) whom Allah guided, and some of them (there were) upon whom error had just hold. Do but travel in the land and see the nature of the consequence for the deniers
وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لَكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِٱلنَّاسِۚ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلرُّءۡیَا ٱلَّتِیۤ أَرَیۡنَـٰكَ إِلَّا فِتۡنَةࣰ لِّلنَّاسِ وَٱلشَّجَرَةَ ٱلۡمَلۡعُونَةَ فِی ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِۚ وَنُخَوِّفُهُمۡ فَمَا یَزِیدُهُمۡ إِلَّا طُغۡیَـٰنࣰا كَبِیرࣰا ٦٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And [remember, O Muhammad], when We told you, "Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people." And We did not make the sight which We showed you except as a trial for the people, as was the accursed tree [mentioned] in the Qur'an. And We threaten them, but it increases them not except in great transgression
Abdel Haleem:
[Prophet], We have told you that your Lord knows all about human beings. The vision We showed you was only a test for people, as was the cursed tree [mentioned] in the Quran. We warn them, but this only increases their insolence
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And (it was a warning) when we told thee: Lo! thy Lord encompasseth mankind, and We appointed the sight which We showed thee as an ordeal for mankind, and (likewise) the Accursed Tree in the Qur'an. We warn them, but it increaseth them in naught save gross impiety
The Cave 18:80
Noun
وَأَمَّا ٱلۡغُلَـٰمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤۡمِنَیۡنِ فَخَشِینَاۤ أَن یُرۡهِقَهُمَا طُغۡیَـٰنࣰا وَكُفۡرࣰا ٨٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief
Abdel Haleem:
The young boy had parents who were people of faith, and so, fearing he would trouble them through wickedness and disbelief
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And as for the lad, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief
The Believers 23:75
Noun
۞ وَلَوۡ رَحِمۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرࣲّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ٧٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly
Abdel Haleem:
Even if We were to show them mercy and relieve them of distress, they would blindly persist in their transgression
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy
The Cow 2:15
Noun
ٱللَّهُ یَسۡتَهۡزِئُ بِهِمۡ وَیَمُدُّهُمۡ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ١٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly
Abdel Haleem:
God is mocking them, and allowing them more slack to wander blindly in their insolence
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy
The Cow 2:256
Noun
لَاۤ إِكۡرَاهَ فِی ٱلدِّینِۖ قَد تَّبَیَّنَ ٱلرُّشۡدُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَیِّۚ فَمَن یَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَیُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِیعٌ عَلِیمٌ ٢٥٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Abdel Haleem:
There is no compulsion in religion: true guidance has become distinct from error, so whoever rejects false gods and believes in God has grasped the firmest hand-hold, one that will never break. God is all hearing and all knowing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower
The Cow 2:257
Noun
ٱللَّهُ وَلِیُّ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ یُخۡرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۖ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَوۡلِیَاۤؤُهُمُ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتُ یُخۡرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ ٱلنُّورِ إِلَى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِۗ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ٢٥٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein
Abdel Haleem:
God is the ally of those who believe: He brings them out of the depths of darkness and into the light. As for the disbelievers, their allies are false gods who take them from the light into the depths of darkness, they are the inhabitants of the Fire, and there they will remain
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Allah is the Protecting Guardian of those who believe. He bringeth them out of darkness into light. As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are false deities. They bring them out of light into darkness. Such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَیۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَـٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا طَـٰغِینَ ٣٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people
Abdel Haleem:
we had no power over you- and you were already exceeding all limits
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk
The Letter Sad 38:55
Noun
هَـٰذَاۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّـٰغِینَ لَشَرَّ مَءَابࣲ ٥٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return
Abdel Haleem:
But the evildoers will have the worst place to return to
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end
وَٱلَّذِینَ ٱجۡتَنَبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ أَن یَعۡبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوۤا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰۚ فَبَشِّرۡ عِبَادِ ١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
But those who have avoided Taghut, lest they worship it, and turned back to Allah - for them are good tidings. So give good tidings to My servant
Abdel Haleem:
There is good news for those who shun the worship of false gods and turn to God, so [Prophet] give good news to My servant
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And those who put away false gods lest they should worship them and turn to Allah in repentance, for them there are glad tidings. Therefor give good tidings (O Muhammad) to My bondme
Women 4:51
Noun
أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِیبࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡجِبۡتِ وَٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ سَبِیلًا ٥١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, who believe in superstition and false objects of worship and say about the disbelievers, "These are better guided than the believers as to the way"
Abdel Haleem:
Do you not see how those given a share of the Scripture, [evidently] now believe in idols and evil powers? They say of the disbelievers, ‘They are more rightly guided than the believers.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Hast thou not seen those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given, how they believe in idols and false deities, and how they say of those (idolaters) who disbelieve: "These are more rightly guided than those who believe"
Women 4:60
Noun
أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ یَزۡعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمۡ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمَاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡكَ وَمَاۤ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ یُرِیدُونَ أَن یَتَحَاكَمُوۤا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَقَدۡ أُمِرُوۤا۟ أَن یَكۡفُرُوا۟ بِهِۦۖ وَیُرِیدُ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ أَن یُضِلَّهُمۡ ضَلَـٰلَۢا بَعِیدࣰا ٦٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray
Abdel Haleem:
Do you [Prophet] not see those who claim to believe in what has been sent down to you, and in what was sent down before you, yet still want to turn to unjust tyrants for judgement, although they have been ordered to reject them? Satan wants to lead them far astray
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Hast thou not seen those who pretend that they believe in that which is revealed unto thee and that which was revealed before thee, how they would go for judgment (in their disputes) to false deities when they have been ordered to abjure them? Satan would mislead them far astray
Women 4:76
Noun
ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ یُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ فَقَـٰتِلُوۤا۟ أَوۡلِیَاۤءَ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِۖ إِنَّ كَیۡدَ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ كَانَ ضَعِیفًا ٧٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah , and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak
Abdel Haleem:
The believers fight for God’s cause, while those who reject faith fight for an unjust cause. Fight the allies of Satan: Satan’s strategies are truly weak
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak
أَتَوَاصَوۡا۟ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ طَاغُونَ ٥٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people
Abdel Haleem:
Did they tell one another to do this? No! They are a people who exceed all bounds
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Have they handed down (the saying) as an heirloom one unto another? Nay, but they are froward folk
أَمۡ تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ أَحۡلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَاۤۚ أَمۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ طَاغُونَ ٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people
Abdel Haleem:
does their reason really tell them to do this, or are they simply insolent people
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk
The Star 53:52
Noun
وَقَوۡمَ نُوحࣲ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ ٥٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing
Abdel Haleem:
and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious
قُلۡ هَلۡ أُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرࣲّ مِّن ذَ ٰلِكَ مَثُوبَةً عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ مَن لَّعَنَهُ ٱللَّهُ وَغَضِبَ عَلَیۡهِ وَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡقِرَدَةَ وَٱلۡخَنَازِیرَ وَعَبَدَ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ شَرࣱّ مَّكَانࣰا وَأَضَلُّ عَن سَوَاۤءِ ٱلسَّبِیلِ ٦٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Say, "Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah ? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way."
Abdel Haleem:
Say, ‘Shall I tell you who deserves a worse punishment from God than [the one you wish upon] us? Those God distanced from Himself, was angry with, and condemned as apes and pigs, and those who worship idols: they are worse in rank and have strayed further from the right path
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Shall I tell thee of a worse (case) than theirs for retribution with Allah? (Worse is the case of him) whom Allah hath cursed, him on whom His wrath hath fallen and of whose sort Allah hath turned some to apes and swine, and who serveth idols. Such are in worse plight and further astray from the plain road
وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡیَهُودُ یَدُ ٱللَّهِ مَغۡلُولَةٌۚ غُلَّتۡ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَلُعِنُوا۟ بِمَا قَالُوا۟ۘ بَلۡ یَدَاهُ مَبۡسُوطَتَانِ یُنفِقُ كَیۡفَ یَشَاۤءُۚ وَلَیَزِیدَنَّ كَثِیرࣰا مِّنۡهُم مَّاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغۡیَـٰنࣰا وَكُفۡرࣰاۚ وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا بَیۡنَهُمُ ٱلۡعَدَ ٰوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَاۤءَ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۚ كُلَّمَاۤ أَوۡقَدُوا۟ نَارࣰا لِّلۡحَرۡبِ أَطۡفَأَهَا ٱللَّهُۚ وَیَسۡعَوۡنَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَسَادࣰاۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِینَ ٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And the Jews say, "The hand of Allah is chained." Chained are their hands, and cursed are they for what they say. Rather, both His hands are extended; He spends however He wills. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. And We have cast among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindled the fire of war [against you], Allah extinguished it. And they strive throughout the land [causing] corruption, and Allah does not like corrupters
Abdel Haleem:
The Jews have said, ‘God is tight-fisted,’ but it is they who are tight-fisted, and they are rejected for what they have said. Truly, God’s hands are open wide: He gives as He pleases. What has been sent down to you from your Lord is sure to increase insolence and defiance in many of them. We have sown enmity and hatred amongst them till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, God will put it out. They try to spread corruption in the land, but God does not love those who corrupt
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
The Jews say: Allah's hand is fettered. Their hands are fettered and they are accursed for saying so. Nay, but both His hands are spread out wide in bounty. He bestoweth as He will. That which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is certain to increase the contumacy and disbelief of many of them, and We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. As often as they light a fire for war, Allah extinguisheth it. Their effort is for corruption in the land, and Allah loveth not corrupters
قُلۡ یَـٰۤأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَسۡتُمۡ عَلَىٰ شَیۡءٍ حَتَّىٰ تُقِیمُوا۟ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِیلَ وَمَاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۗ وَلَیَزِیدَنَّ كَثِیرࣰا مِّنۡهُم مَّاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغۡیَـٰنࣰا وَكُفۡرࣰاۖ فَلَا تَأۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ٦٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people
Abdel Haleem:
Say, ‘People of the Book, you have no true basis [for your religion] unless you uphold the Torah, the Gospel, and that which has been sent down to you from your Lord,’ but what has been sent down to you [Prophet] from your Lord is sure to increase many of them in their insolence and defiance: do not worry about those who defy [God]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Say O People of the Scripture! Ye have naught (of guidance) till ye observe the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto you from your Lord. That which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) from thy Lord is certain to increase the contumacy and disbelief of many of them. But grieve not for the disbelieving folk
The Pen 68:31
Noun
قَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـٰغِینَ ٣١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors
Abdel Haleem:
They said, ‘Alas for us! We have done terrible wrong
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
They said: Alas for us! In truth we were outrageous
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِیَةِ ٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]
Abdel Haleem:
Thamud was destroyed by a deafening blast
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning
وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفۡءِدَتَهُمۡ وَأَبۡصَـٰرَهُمۡ كَمَا لَمۡ یُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦۤ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةࣲ وَنَذَرُهُمۡ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ١١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly
Abdel Haleem:
We would make their hearts and their eyes turn away, just as they did not believe the first time, and leave them to flounder in their obstinacy
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
We confound their hearts and their eyes. As they believed not therein at the first, We let them wander blindly on in their contumacy
لِّلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
For the transgressors, a place of return
Abdel Haleem:
a home for oppressor
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
A home for the rebellious
مَن یُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِیَ لَهُۥۚ وَیَذَرُهُمۡ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ١٨٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Whoever Allah sends astray - there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly
Abdel Haleem:
No one can guide those God allows to stray: He leaves them blundering about in their insolence
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy
The Sun 91:11
Noun
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression
Abdel Haleem:
In their arrogant cruelty, the people of Thamud called [their messenger] a liar
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride

Hud 11:112
Verb
فَٱسۡتَقِمۡ كَمَاۤ أُمِرۡتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطۡغَوۡا۟ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِیرࣱ ١١٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allah ], and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do
Abdel Haleem:
So keep to the right course as you have been commanded, together with those who have turned to God with you. Do not overstep the limits, for He sees everything you do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
So tread thou the straight path as thou art commanded, and those who turn (unto Allah) with thee, and transgress not. Lo! He is Seer of what ye do
Ta Ha 20:24
Verb
ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ٢٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed."
Abdel Haleem:
Go to Pharaoh, for he has truly become a tyrant.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds)
Ta Ha 20:43
Verb
ٱذۡهَبَاۤ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ٤٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed
Abdel Haleem:
Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has exceeded all bounds
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds)
Ta Ha 20:45
Verb
قَالَا رَبَّنَاۤ إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن یَفۡرُطَ عَلَیۡنَاۤ أَوۡ أَن یَطۡغَىٰ ٤٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress."
Abdel Haleem:
They said, ‘Lord, we fear he will do us great harm or exceed all bounds.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant
Ta Ha 20:81
Verb
كُلُوا۟ مِن طَیِّبَـٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ وَلَا تَطۡغَوۡا۟ فِیهِ فَیَحِلَّ عَلَیۡكُمۡ غَضَبِیۖ وَمَن یَحۡلِلۡ عَلَیۡهِ غَضَبِی فَقَدۡ هَوَىٰ ٨١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[Saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen."
Abdel Haleem:
‘Eat from the good things We have provided for you, but do not overstep the bounds, or My wrath will descend on you. Anyone on whom My wrath descends has truly fallen
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(Saying): Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and transgress not in respect thereof lest My wrath come upon you: and he on whom My wrath cometh, he is lost indeed
The Letter Qaf 50:27
Verb
۞ قَالَ قَرِینُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَاۤ أَطۡغَیۡتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِی ضَلَـٰلِۭ بَعِیدࣲ ٢٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error."
Abdel Haleem:
and his [evil] companion will say, ‘Lord, I did not make him transgress; he had already gone far astray himself.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error
The Star 53:17
Verb
مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]
Abdel Haleem:
His sight never wavered, nor was it too bold
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡا۟ فِی ٱلۡمِیزَانِ ٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
That you not transgress within the balance
Abdel Haleem:
so that you may not exceed in the balance
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
That ye exceed not the measure
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَاۤءُ حَمَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡجَارِیَةِ ١١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing shi
Abdel Haleem:
But when the Flood rose high, We saved you in the floating ship
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the shi
اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed
Abdel Haleem:
‘Go to Pharaoh, for he has exceeded all bounds
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So as for he who transgresse
Abdel Haleem:
for anyone who has transgresse
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Then, as for him who rebelle
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[All of] whom oppressed within the land
Abdel Haleem:
All of them committed excesses in their lands
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands
The Clot, Read 96:6
Verb
كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
No! [But] indeed, man transgresse

But man exceeds all bound
