ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِی وَهَبَ لِی عَلَى ٱلۡكِبَرِ إِسۡمَـٰعِیلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَۚ إِنَّ رَبِّی لَسَمِیعُ ٱلدُّعَاۤءِ ۝٣٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Praise to Allah , who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication
Abdel Haleem: Praise be to God, who has granted me Ishmael and Isaac in my old age: my Lord hears all requests
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Praise be to Allah Who hath given me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac! Lo! my Lord is indeed the Hearer of Prayer
Mary 19:19 Verb
قَالَ إِنَّمَاۤ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمࣰا زَكِیࣰّا ۝١٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."
Abdel Haleem: but he said, ‘I am but a Mes-senger from your Lord, [come] to announce to you the gift of a pure son.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son
Mary 19:49 Verb
فَلَمَّا ٱعۡتَزَلَهُمۡ وَمَا یَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَۖ وَكُلࣰّا جَعَلۡنَا نَبِیࣰّا ۝٤٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allah , We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet
Abdel Haleem: When he left his people and those they served beside God, We granted him Isaac and Jacob and made them both prophets
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: So, when he had withdrawn from them and that which they were worshipping beside Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a prophet
Mary 19:5 Verb
وَإِنِّی خِفۡتُ ٱلۡمَوَ ٰلِیَ مِن وَرَاۤءِی وَكَانَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتِی عَاقِرࣰا فَهَبۡ لِی مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِیࣰّا ۝٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an hei
Abdel Haleem: I fear [what] my kinsmen [will do] when I am gone, for my wife is barren, so grant me a successor––a gift from You––
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Oh, give me from Thy presence a successo
Mary 19:50 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحۡمَتِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لِسَانَ صِدۡقٍ عَلِیࣰّا ۝٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor
Abdel Haleem: We granted Our grace to all of them, and gave them a noble reputation
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And we gave them of Our mercy, and assigned to them a high and true renown
Mary 19:53 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحۡمَتِنَاۤ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ نَبِیࣰّا ۝٥٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet
Abdel Haleem: out of Our grace We granted him his brother Aaron as a prophet
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed upon him of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet (likewise)
The Prophets 21:72 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةࣰۖ وَكُلࣰّا جَعَلۡنَا صَـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous
Abdel Haleem: and We gave him Isaac and Jacob as an additional gift, and made each of them righteous
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed upon him Isaac, and Jacob as a grandson. Each of them We made righteous
The Prophets 21:90 Verb
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ یَحۡیَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَیَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبࣰا وَرَهَبࣰاۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِینَ ۝٩٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive
Abdel Haleem: We answered him––We gave him John, and cured his wife of barrenness- they were always keen to do good deeds. They called upon Us out of longing and awe, and humbled themselves before Us
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us
The Criterion, The Standard 25:74 Verb
وَٱلَّذِینَ یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجِنَا وَذُرِّیَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعۡیُنࣲ وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِینَ إِمَامًا ۝٧٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."
Abdel Haleem: those who pray, ‘Our Lord, give us joy in our spouses and offspring. Make us good examples to those who are aware of You’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil)
The Poets 26:21 Verb
فَفَرَرۡتُ مِنكُمۡ لَمَّا خِفۡتُكُمۡ فَوَهَبَ لِی رَبِّی حُكۡمࣰا وَجَعَلَنِی مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers
Abdel Haleem: and I fled from you in fear; later my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of His messengers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him)
The Poets 26:83 Verb
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی حُكۡمࣰا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِی بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٨٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous
Abdel Haleem: My Lord, grant me wisdom; join me with the righteous
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous
The Spider 29:27 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِی ذُرِّیَّتِهِ ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ أَجۡرَهُۥ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٢٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We gave to Him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous
Abdel Haleem: We gave Isaac and Jacob to Abraham, and placed prophethood and Scripture among his offspring. We gave him his rewards in this world, and in the life to come he will be among the righteous
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the prophethood and the Scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ إِنَّاۤ أَحۡلَلۡنَا لَكَ أَزۡوَ ٰجَكَ ٱلَّـٰتِیۤ ءَاتَیۡتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتۡ یَمِینُكَ مِمَّاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّـٰتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَـٰلَـٰتِكَ ٱلَّـٰتِی هَاجَرۡنَ مَعَكَ وَٱمۡرَأَةࣰ مُّؤۡمِنَةً إِن وَهَبَتۡ نَفۡسَهَا لِلنَّبِیِّ إِنۡ أَرَادَ ٱلنَّبِیُّ أَن یَسۡتَنكِحَهَا خَالِصَةࣰ لَّكَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَۗ قَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا مَا فَرَضۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ فِیۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ وَمَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ لِكَیۡلَا یَكُونَ عَلَیۡكَ حَرَجࣱۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا ۝٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet [and] if the Prophet wishes to marry her, [this is] only for you, excluding the [other] believers. We certainly know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands possess, [but this is for you] in order that there will be upon you no discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful
Abdel Haleem: Prophet, We have made lawful for you the wives whose bride gift you have paid, and any slaves God has assigned to you through war, and the daughters of your uncles and aunts on your father’s and mother’s sides, who migrated with you. Also any believing woman who has offered herself to the Prophet and whom the Prophet wishes to wed- this is only for you [Prophet] and not the rest of the believers: We know exactly what We have made obligatory for them concerning their wives and slave-girls- so you should not be blamed: God is most forgiving, most merciful
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war, and the daughters of thine uncle on the father's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the father's side, and the daughters of thine uncle on the mother's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the mother's side who emigrated with thee, and a believing woman if she give herself unto the Prophet and the Prophet desire to ask her in marriage - a privilege for thee only, not for the (rest of) believers - We are Aware of that which We enjoined upon them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess - that thou mayst be free from blame, for Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful
Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers 37:100 Verb
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١٠٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."
Abdel Haleem: Lord, grant me a righteous son,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous
The Letter Sad 38:30 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لِدَاوُۥدَ سُلَیۡمَـٰنَۚ نِعۡمَ ٱلۡعَبۡدُ إِنَّهُۥۤ أَوَّابٌ ۝٣٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah ]
Abdel Haleem: We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah)
The Letter Sad 38:35 Verb
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِی وَهَبۡ لِی مُلۡكࣰا لَّا یَنۢبَغِی لِأَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِیۤۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ ۝٣٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
Abdel Haleem: He turned to Us and prayed: ‘Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have- You are the Most Generous Provider.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower
The Letter Sad 38:43 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنَّا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ۝٤٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding
Abdel Haleem: and We restored his family to him, with many more like them: a sign of Our mercy and a lesson to all who understand
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:38 Verb
هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِیَّا رَبَّهُۥۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّیَّةࣰ طَیِّبَةًۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِیعُ ٱلدُّعَاۤءِ ۝٣٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
Abdel Haleem: There and then Zachariah prayed to his Lord, saying, ‘Lord, from Your grace grant me virtuous offspring: You hear every prayer.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then Zachariah prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:8 Verb
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَیۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ ۝٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower
Abdel Haleem: ‘Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us Your mercy: You are the Ever Giving
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower
Council, Consultation, The Counsel 42:49 Verb
لِّلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ یَهَبُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ إِنَـٰثࣰا وَیَهَبُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ ۝٤٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what he wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males
Abdel Haleem: God has control of the heavens and the earth; He creates whatever He will- He grants female offspring to whoever He will
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He createth what He will. He bestoweth female (offspring) upon whom He will, and bestoweth male (offspring) upon whom He will
Cattle, Livestock 6:84 Verb
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَۚ كُلًّا هَدَیۡنَاۚ وَنُوحًا هَدَیۡنَا مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَمِن ذُرِّیَّتِهِۦ دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ وَأَیُّوبَ وَیُوسُفَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٨٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good
Abdel Haleem: We gave him Isaac and Jacob, each of whom We guided, as We had guided Noah before, and among his descendants were David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron- in this way We reward those who do good
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob; each of them We guided; and Noah did We guide aforetime; and of his seed (We guided) David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the good

The Letter Sad 38:35 Noun
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِی وَهَبۡ لِی مُلۡكࣰا لَّا یَنۢبَغِی لِأَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِیۤۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ ۝٣٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
Abdel Haleem: He turned to Us and prayed: ‘Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have- You are the Most Generous Provider.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower
The Letter Sad 38:9 Noun
أَمۡ عِندَهُمۡ خَزَاۤىِٕنُ رَحۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡوَهَّابِ ۝٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower
Abdel Haleem: Do they possess the treasures of your Lord’s bounty, the Mighty, the All Giving
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower
