Verse 50:33 in Context

29 مَا یُبَدَّلُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ لَدَیَّ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمࣲ لِّلۡعَبِیدِ ۝٢٩ mā yubaddalu l-qawlu ladayya wamā anā biẓallāmin lil'ʿabīd and My word cannot be changed: I am not unjust to any creature.’ 30 یَوۡمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمۡتَلَأۡتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلۡ مِن مَّزِیدࣲ ۝٣٠ yawma naqūlu lijahannama hali im'talati wataqūlu hal min mazīdi We shall say to Hell on that day, ‘Are you full?’ and it will reply, ‘Are there no more?’ 31 وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِینَ غَیۡرَ بَعِیدٍ ۝٣١ wa-uz'lifati l-janatu lil'muttaqīna ghayra baʿīdi But Paradise will be brought close to the righteous and will no longer be distant 32 هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِیظࣲ ۝٣٢ hādhā mā tūʿadūna likulli awwābin ḥafīẓi ‘This is what you were promised––this is for everyone who turned often to God and kept Him in mind
33 مَّنۡ خَشِیَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنَ بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَجَاۤءَ بِقَلۡبࣲ مُّنِیبٍ ۝٣٣ man khashiya l-raḥmāna bil-ghaybi wajāa biqalbin munībi who held the Most Gracious in awe, though He is unseen, who comes before Him with a heart turned to Him in devotion
34 ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمࣲۖ ذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمُ ٱلۡخُلُودِ ۝٣٤ ud'khulūhā bisalāmin dhālika yawmu l-khulūd so enter it in peace. This is the Day of everlasting Life.’ 35 لَهُم مَّا یَشَاۤءُونَ فِیهَا وَلَدَیۡنَا مَزِیدࣱ ۝٣٥ lahum mā yashāūna fīhā waladaynā mazīdu They will have all that they wish for there, and We have more for them 36 وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡنٍ هُمۡ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشࣰا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡبِلَـٰدِ هَلۡ مِن مَّحِیصٍ ۝٣٦ wakam ahlaknā qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu min'hum baṭshan fanaqqabū fī l-bilādi hal min maḥīṣi We have destroyed even mightier generations before these disbelievers, who travelled through [many] lands- was there any escape 37 إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلۡبٌ أَوۡ أَلۡقَى ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَهُوَ شَهِیدࣱ ۝٣٧ inna fī dhālika ladhik'rā liman kāna lahu qalbun aw alqā l-samʿa wahuwa shahīdu There truly is a reminder in this for whoever has a heart, whoever listens attentively
