إِنَّاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ فِیهَا هُدࣰى وَنُورࣱۚ یَحۡكُمُ بِهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّونَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسۡلَمُوا۟ لِلَّذِینَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلرَّبَّـٰنِیُّونَ وَٱلۡأَحۡبَارُ بِمَا ٱسۡتُحۡفِظُوا۟ مِن كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ شُهَدَاۤءَۚ فَلَا تَخۡشَوُا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِ وَلَا تَشۡتَرُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِی ثَمَنࣰا قَلِیلࣰاۚ وَمَن لَّمۡ یَحۡكُم بِمَاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ ٤٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah ] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah , and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers
لَوۡلَا یَنۡهَىٰهُمُ ٱلرَّبَّـٰنِیُّونَ وَٱلۡأَحۡبَارُ عَن قَوۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡإِثۡمَ وَأَكۡلِهِمُ ٱلسُّحۡتَۚ لَبِئۡسَ مَا كَانُوا۟ یَصۡنَعُونَ ٦٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Why do the rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing
Repentance 9:31

ٱتَّخَذُوۤا۟ أَحۡبَارَهُمۡ وَرُهۡبَـٰنَهُمۡ أَرۡبَابࣰا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَسِیحَ ٱبۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ وَمَاۤ أُمِرُوۤا۟ إِلَّا لِیَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَـٰهࣰا وَ ٰحِدࣰاۖ لَّاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ٣١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him
Repentance 9:34

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوۤا۟ إِنَّ كَثِیرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَحۡبَارِ وَٱلرُّهۡبَانِ لَیَأۡكُلُونَ أَمۡوَ ٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ وَیَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱلَّذِینَ یَكۡنِزُونَ ٱلذَّهَبَ وَٱلۡفِضَّةَ وَلَا یُنفِقُونَهَا فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ ٣٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment
