Acts of Kindness
أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ
[Prophet], have you considered the person who denies the Judgement
Have you seen the one who denies the Day of Judgment?
Beholdest thou him who belieth the Requital
HAVE YOU SEEN him who denies the Day of Judgement
Did you see the one who denies his religion (the sunnatullah)?
Have you seen him who denies the deen?
Did you see him who denies the Retribution
Have you considered one who denies the Last Judgment
Have you considered the case of one who belies the Requital and Faith
Hast thou seen him who cries lies to the Doom
Did you see the one who denies the religion (or the Judgment Day)?
Have you noticed the behavior of those who claim to be Muslims but from Islam do not carry anything but its name
Do you see the one who denies the Judgment
Have yousg seen the one who denies the Recompense?
Hast thou considered him who calls the judgment a lie
Just look at him, who belies the religion
Have you seen him who belies the day of recompense.
What thinkest thou of him who denieth the future judgment as a falsehood
Have you considered him who calls the judgment (or Religion) a lie
Have you seen he who belied the Recompense
WHAT thinkest thou of him who treateth our RELIGION as a lie
Have you watched him who denies the Accountability
Hadst thou considered one who denies this way of life?
Do you see someone who denies the judgment?
Have you seen the one who denies the Day of Judgment
Did you see him who gives the lie to the Reward and Punishment of the Hereafter
Hast thou seen him who belies religion
Did you see him who belies religion?
Have you seen the one who denies that there is a just divine system in place for mankind
Have you seen him who denies the Din (Religion)
Do you know who rejects the syste
Have you seen he who is denying in the system?
Have you seen he who is denying in the system?
Did you see/understand who lies/denies/falsifies with the religion
HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who gives the lie to all moral law
Have you seen him who cries lies to the Doom
Hast thou observed him who belieth religion
Have you seen the one who calls the religion a lie
Have you seen him who denies the Requital
Have you seen the one who refuses to admit (the truth of) the ‘Last Judgment’?
Haven´t you seen the one who rejects the fact of the reward and punishment
Do you see the one who persistently denies the Day of Judgment?
Do you see the one who denies religion and does not recognize Allah nor His control and government of all events
Have you seen the person who denies the Judgement?
Have you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment?
Have you considered him who denies his (religious) debt?
HAVE YOU considered him that denies the Last Judgement
Do you know who really rejects the faith
Have you seen the one who denies this faith?
Have you seen the one who denies this faith?
Have you seen the one who falsifies with religion?
Have you seen him who denies Our religion
Have you seen him who proclaims allegiance to the Divine System, but denies it in action? ((53:33), (75:32-33), (95:7). 'Takzeeb' = Denying in practice)
Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie
Hast thou seen him who denies the Judgment
Hast thou seen the one who denies religion
Do you see the one who denies the Judgment (to come)
Didn’t you see the one who denies the religion?
Have you considered him who denies the religion
Do you see the one who repudiates religion?
Have you seen the one who denies religion
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense
Have you seen the one who says the Judgment is a lie?
Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)
Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)
فَذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ
It is he who pushes aside the orpha
It is he who drives away the orphan (harshly)
It is he who pusheth away the orphan
It is he who pushes the orphan away
Who scolds the orphan – pushing and shoving him,
He is the one who harshly rebuffs the orphan
That is the one who drives away the orphan
That is the one who repels the orphan
As a result of it this (despicable) fellow (instead of taking care of him with affection) repulses the orphan
That is he who repulses the orpha
That is the one who pushes the orphan away,
These hypocrites are those who do not show any kindness to the orphans
They are those who repulse the orphan
It is the one who mistreats the orphan
He it is who pushes the orphan away
So it is he, who pushes away the orphan
He it is who pushes away the orphan.
It is he who pusheth away the orphan
He it is who pushes the orphan away
It is he who turns away the orpha
He it is who trusteth away the orphan
So that is the one who harshly drives away Al-Yatim
And that is he who drives away with force the orphan
Such a person rejects the orphan.
He it is who drives away the orphan with harshnes
Such is the one who repulses the orphans away
That is the one who is rough to the orphan
Then he is the one who pushes away the orphan,
Such a one it is that pushes the orphan away
So he is the one who pushes away the orphan (i.e., rejects the needs of the orphans and deprives them of their right)
It is the one who mistreats the orphans
It is the one who mistreats the orphan,
It is the one who mistreats the orphan,
So that (is) who turns down/repels the orphan
Behold, it is this [kind of man] that thrusts the orphan away
That is the one who repulses the orpha
That is he who repelleth the orphan
It is he who turns down the orphan
So, he is the one who pushes away the orphan
He is the one who drives away the orphan,
He is (really) the one who (shoos and) shoves away the orphans harshly
That is the one who who harshly repulses the orphans.
Such is he who ill-treats the orphan
He treats an orphan roughly,
That is the one who repulses the orphan,
He is who snubs the orphan,
It is he who turns away the orpha
That is the one who mistreats the orphans
For that is the one who drives the orphan away
For that is the one who drives the orphan away
So that is the one who mistreats the orphan
It is he who harshly repels the orpha
Behold, that is he who repels the orphan, the widow, the helpless, the one in a lonely state. (89:10), (69:34)
That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness
That is he who drives away the orphan
That is the one who drives away the orphan
Then, it is such a (man) who repels (and discards) the orphan (with harshness)
It is he who repulses the orphan.
It is he who mistreats the orphan
He is the one who rebuffs the orphan
"-- the one who pushes orphans aside,"
For that is the one who drives away the orpha
Then that is the one who pushes the orphan away,
Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness)
Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness)
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
and does not urge others to feed the needy
and don’t encourage the feeding of the poor.
And urgeth not the feeding of the poor
And does not induce others to feed the needy
And who does not encourage feeding the needy (stingy, selfish)!
and does not urge the feeding of the poor.
and does not urge the feeding of the needy
And does not urge the feeding of the destitute
And does not urge in feeding of the needy
and urges not the feeding of the needy
and does not encourage feeding the poor.
These hypocrites are those who do not take any step to feed a hungry person
And do not encourage the feeding of the indigent
and does not urge (others to serve) food to the destitutesg.
and urges not (others) to feed the poor
And does not urge to feed the needy
And does not exhort unto the feeding of the needy.
and stirreth not up others to feed the poor
And urges not (others) to feed the needy
and does not urge others to feed the needy
And stirreth not others up to feed the poor
And urges not for providing food to the indigent
and urges not to give food to the needy.
He/she does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
and does not encourage the feeding of the poor
and urges not the feeding of the needy
And urges not the feeding of the needy
and does not urge on the feeding of the poor.
And does not motivate others on feeding the poor
And does not promote the cause of feeding the poor (i.e., does not strive to end the economic exploitation of the poor and the needy)
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor
And the one who does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
And the one who does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
And does not urge/insight/influence on feeding the poorest of poor/poor oppressed
and feels no urge to feed the needy
And does not urge the (offering) of food to the indigent
And urgeth not the feeding of the needy
and never encourages the feeding of the destitute
and does not persuade (others) to feed the needy
And advocates not the feeding of the needy.
And does not promote the feeding of the poor
And he does not even advocate the feeding of the needy.
And discourages aid to the indigent faint soul past corporal toil
and doesn’t feel the urge to feed the needy.
and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
and does not urge the feeding of the destitute
And does not advocate the feeding of the poor
and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
And does not encourage upon the needy person's food.
and does not urge others to feed the needy
And urges not the feeding of the needy. And participates not in helping those who have lost their jobs, whose businesses have stalled, and whose hard earned income is insufficient to meet their basic needs
And does not urge (others) to feed the poor
And urges not the feeding of the poor
and does not urge feeding the indigent
And does not encourage the feeding of the needy
And doesn’t encourage the feeding of the needy.
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor
and does not encourage feeding the poor.
and does not encaurage (himself or others to) feed the poor
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor
And he does not urge on the feeding of the poor.
And encourages not the feeding of the indigent
And encourages not the feeding of the indigent
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
So woe to those who pra
So woe to those who perform prayers (hypocrites),
Woe, therefore, Unto such performers of prayer
Woe to those who pra
So, woe to those who pray (out of custom),
So woe to those who do salat,
Woe to them who pray
And woe to those worshippers (denying the Judgment)
So woe to those who Pray
So woe to those that pra
So, woe to those who perform mandatory prayer (and continue their wrongful deeds),
How dare these hypocrites to consider themselves a God’s worshipper
So woe to the worshippers
So woe to the ones who pray—
But woe to those who pra
So ruin is to those offerers of prayer
So woe to those who pray.
Woe be unto those who pray
But woe to those who pra
Woe to those who pray
Woe to those who pray
Woe to those who offer Salat —
So woe to ones who formally pray,
Woe to the worshipers…
So woe to those who offer Salah (prayers)
Woe, then, to those who pray
So woe to the praying ones
So sorrowful is the state of the worshippers
And, woe to those who pray —
So woe to those worshippers
So woe to those who reach out
So woe to those who make the contact prayer,
So woe to those who connect,
So calamity/scandal/woe to the prayers (praying people)
Woe, then, unto those praying one
So woe to the ones who pray
Ah, woe unto worshipper
Woe to the worshipper
So, Woe to those performers of Salah
Woe unto the worshipers,
Of course, misery is for (some of) those who perform ´salat´
Woe, then, betide, those who (make a false profession of faith) when they stand to pray.
And so, Woe to those who make great pretences to religion and their hearts' ears to exhortation are not inclined
So, ruined are the worshippers
So woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray
Woe then to those who pray,
Woe betide those who pra
And woe to those who observe the contact prayers (Salat)
So woe to those who pray
So woe to those who pray
So woe to those who pray (the worshipers).
Woe to those who pra
Ah, woe unto the praying ones
So woe to the praying ones
So woe to those who pray
So woe unto the prayin
So, (this is a) warning to the worshipper
So woe to those who pray.
So woe to those who pray
So woe to those who pray
"Oh, wretched are the worshippers"
So woe to those who pra
So woe to those who pray,
So woe to the worshipper
So woe to the worshipper
الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
but are heedless of their prayer
but are heedless of their prayer;
As are of their prayer careless
But who are oblivious of their moral duties
Who are heedless (cocooned) of (the experience of the meaning of) their salat (which is an ascension [miraj] to their innermost essential reality; their Rabb).
and are forgetful of their salat,
—those who are heedless of their prayers
Those who are unmindful in their Prayers
But are unmindful of their Prayer (and ignore the spirit and aim of it)
and are heedless of their prayers
those who are unmindful of (the purpose of) their mandatory prayer,
These hypocrites do no even attend their mandatory prayers regularly
Who are neglectful of their prayers
those who are heedless of their prayers,
and who are careless in their prayers
Those who are neglectful of their prayer
Those who are unmindful about their prayers.
and who are negligent at their prayer
But are careless in their prayers
who are heedless of their prayers (delaying them from their prescribed times)
But in their prayer are careless
those: they are in error regarding their salat (canonical Prayer)
ones who are inattentive to their formal prayers,
…insincere in their prayers.
but are neglectful of their Salah (offer Prayers but disregard the very purpose of establishing Salah - to have the fear of Allah and be mindful to the needs of other people)
but are heedless in their Prayers
Who are unmindful of their prayer
who are heedless of their worship (salat)
Those who are neglectful of, and/or inattentive in, their Prayers
Who are unaware of (the spirit of) their Prayers (i.e., they are mindful only of the rights of Allah, but are heedless of the rights of fellow human beings)
But who are totally heedless of their contact-method
Who are towards their contact prayer absent minded.
But, to their connecting they are absent minded.
Those whom they are about their prayers negligent/inattentive
whose hearts from their prayer are remot
Who are they that are unmindful of their prayer
Who are heedless of their prayer
who become confused during their prayers
who are neglectful of their Salah
Who are not paying enough attention to their prayers!
Those among them who stay unmindful of their "salat´
They are totally heedless and negligent of their prayers.
Who are oblivious of their act of worship, and when they perform it, their countenances reflect and speak absence of mind
who are forgetful of their prayers,
yet are unmindful of their prayers;
Who are negligent of their prayers,
but are heedless of their prayer
who are totally heedless of their prayers
but, who do not pay attention to their prayer.
but, who do not pay attention to their prayer.
Those who are about their prayers, omitting.
but are heedless of their prayers
They know not what their prayer is meant to be
Who are unmindful of their prayers
But are unmindful of their Prayer
who are heedless of their prayers
Who are neglectful of their prayers
Those who are unmindful in their prayers.
Those who are heedless of their prayers
without paying attention to their prayers;
who are forgetful of their prayers -
[But] who are heedless of their prayer
Those who they are unmindful of their prayers,
Who are neglectful of their prayers
Who are neglectful of their prayers
الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ
those who are all sho
those who do good deeds only to be seen,
They who would be seen
Who dissimulat
They are the ones who make a show of their deeds,
those who show off
those who show of
Those who want to be seen and noted (for their acts of worship)
And they like (only) to be seen (of people while they make a show of their deeds)
to those who make displa
those who pretend (and show off what they do)
The hypocrite’s engagement in charitable activities is not out of sincerity and is merely in order to be seen and earn a good name in public
Those who want to be seen
those who make show (of their deeds)
Who preten
Those who make a display (of their deeds)
Those who show off themselves.

those: they (offer Prayers and only) act to be seen
those who make display,
They want only to be seen.

those who do good (in order) to be seen
Who do (good) to be seen
(in the sense that they are) those who make a show (of their worship)
Those who show off
Who show off (their worship, for they only render a formal service to the Creator and are inconsiderate to the oppressed humanity)
They only want to be seen

They only want to be seen,
Those whom they are pretending/showing off (what they are not)
those who want only to be seen and praised
Who are they that show off
Who would be seen (at worship

They (like only to) make show (of themselves)
Those who aim to be seen (doing good)
They pray only to be seen and praised by people
Who cultivate pretence and they, themselves, are empty of all good
who merely show off,
those who ˹only˺ show off,

who make a show of piet
They only show off
Those who make a show [of their deeds]
Those who make a show [of their deeds]
Those who dissemble. (The Hypocrites).

They only want to be seen and praised. (9:54). (They go through motions of prayer and keep announcing it)
Who do (good) to be seen
They like only to be seen of men
those who strive to be seen
Those who (only want) to be seen (by men)
Those who make a show.
Those who put on the appearance
those who appear to pray
those who show off (in prayer and other good deeds
Those who make show [of their deeds]
Those who they make a show,
Those who (want but) to be seen (of men)
Those who (want but) to be seen (of men)
وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ
and forbid common kindnesses
and they refuge (to share) small kindnesses.
And who withholds even common necessaries
And withhold things of common use (from others)
And prevent good!
and deny help to others.
but deny aid
Yet deny all assistance (to their fellowmen)
And who withhold (legal) alms and other acts of kindness (starting from the Zakat to the lowest form of lending ordinary things of utility like a needle or a piece of thread to a neighbour)
and refuse charity
and withhold the small kindnesses.
The hypocrites may spend a lot of money to be known as charitable people, but they refuse to engage in small kindnesses (say Hi to the doorman, smile to their low level employees, buy a burger to the hungry man in the street, etc. etc. etc.
But refuse to do even neighborly deeds
yet withhold (little) kindnesses
and withhold necessaries
And do not let others ask for small utilities
And they withhold from others the casual help.
and deny necessaries to the needy
Yet withhold small kindnesses (or necessaries)
and prevent the utensils of assistance
But refuse help to the needy
and (also) reject (and refuse) Al-Ma‘un (small, routine requests from people around them)
yet they repulse giving the assistance.
They deny simple aid.
and refuse to share the necessities of life
and deny people the articles of common necessity
And refrain from acts of kindness
and refuse small kindness.
And refuse to give even trifling things to others
And who refuse to lend a worthless small object of use even on demand
And they deter from helping others
And they withhold from any assistance.
And they refuse to aid.
And they prevent/stop the charity
and, withal, deny all assistance [to their fellow-men]
And (refuse and) prevent (small) kindnesses
Yet refuse small kindnesses
and refuse to help the needy
and refuse (to give even) small gifts
But not willing to give little alms.
And they hold back even minor favors
Yet withhold good.
Their malevolence prevents benevolence and proves an occasion of so much discontent
and even stop doing small kindnesses
and refuse to give ˹even the simplest˺ aid.
And refuse assistance.
and forbid alms-giving
And they forbid charity
and withhold assistance to others.
and withhold assistance to others.
And prevent even the little aid.
but refuse to give even the smallest help to others
And, with all this, they put dams before the Spring of Sustenance. ('Ma'n' = Running water. 'Mu'in' = Source of sustenance with plenty of fresh water springs. (23:50))
And withhold the necessaries of life

yet refuse small kindnesses

but are depriving the needy.
