وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ
Waamma alssa-ila fala tanhar
and do not chide the one who asks for help
and don’t repulse the beggar,
And as to the beggar, chide thou him not
And do not drive the beggar away
And do not scold the one who inquires and wants!
and as for beggars, do not berate them.
and as for the beggar, do not chide him
Nor chide and drive away the petitioner
And as for the person who seeks (your assistance) do not chide him away
and as for the beggar, scold him not
And as for the one who asks (for help), do not drive (him/her) away.
And be kind to the needy ones
Nor refuse the petitioner
and as for the asker, do not rebuke;
and as for the beggar drive him not away
And do not rebuke the beggar
And as for the beggar therefore, do not chase away.
neither repulse the beggar
Nor the beggar (or petitioner) drive away
nor drive away the one who asks
And as to him that asketh of thee, chide him not away
And that who is As-Sâil (compelled to ask for assistance), then repulse (him) not
And as for one who begs, scold him not.
Do not turn away the beggar.

And him who asks, chide not
and as for the beggar do not drive him away,
And scare not the beggar away
Nor reproach any beggar (seeking help at your door)
And as for the beggar, you shall not reprimand

and him that seeks [thy] help shalt thou never chide
And as for the beggar, then do not scold (him)

nor chase away the beggar,
nor repulse the beggar.
And do not brush off the one who asks,
nor chide away the beggar.
Nor shall you reprimand the beggar
and do not snub the one who asks for help.
