The Prophets — Dr Mohammad Tahir Ul Qadri Translation

لَاهِیَةࣰ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجۡوَى ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖ أَفَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَأَنتُمۡ تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Their hearts have become neglectful and (these) wrongdoers whisper (against you) inaudibly: ‘He is but a human being like you. Do you (even then) submit to (his) magic whilst you can see?

lāhiyatan qulūbuhum wa-asarrū l-najwā alladhīna ẓalamū hal hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum afatatūna l-siḥ'ra wa-antum tub'ṣirūn

21:4

قَالَ رَبِّی یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِیعُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(The Esteemed Prophet) said: ‘My Lord knows (every) word uttered in the heavens and the earth and He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

qāla rabbī yaʿlamu l-qawla fī l-samāi wal-arḍi wahuwa l-samīʿu l-ʿalīm

21:5

بَلۡ قَالُوۤا۟ أَضۡغَـٰثُ أَحۡلَـٰمِۭ بَلِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ بَلۡ هُوَ شَاعِرࣱ فَلۡیَأۡتِنَا بِءَایَةࣲ كَمَاۤ أُرۡسِلَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

But (the wrongdoers go so far as to) say: ‘This (Qur’an) comprises (things seen in) confused dreams. Nay! He has invented it (himself). Nay, he is (in fact) a poet. (If he is a true Prophet,) let him (also) bring us some sign as the former (Prophets) were sent (with signs).

bal qālū aḍghāthu aḥlāmin bali if'tarāhu bal huwa shāʿirun falyatinā biāyatin kamā ur'sila l-awalūn

21:6

مَاۤ ءَامَنَتۡ قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤۖ أَفَهُمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Every community whom We destroyed before them disbelieved (in these signs). So, will these people believe

mā āmanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknāhā afahum yu'minūn

21:7

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا نُّوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡءَلُوۤا۟ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And, (O Esteemed Beloved,) We sent only men (as Prophets) before you (also). We used to send them Revelations. So, (O people,) if you do not know (yourselves), ask the people of remembrance

wamā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nūḥī ilayhim fasalū ahla l-dhik'ri in kuntum lā taʿlamūn

21:8

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ جَسَدࣰا لَّا یَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰلِدِینَ ۝٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We did not create them (the Prophets) with such bodies as would not eat food, nor were they to live (their visible life in the world) forever

wamā jaʿalnāhum jasadan lā yakulūna l-ṭaʿāma wamā kānū khālidīn

21:9

ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَاۤءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِینَ ۝٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then We fulfilled Our promise to them. So We delivered them and those whom We liked and We destroyed the transgressors

thumma ṣadaqnāhumu l-waʿda fa-anjaynāhum waman nashāu wa-ahlaknā l-mus'rifīn

21:10

لَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فِیهِ ذِكۡرُكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Verily, We have revealed to you the Book, which contains (means and substance for) your admonition. So do you not have sense

laqad anzalnā ilaykum kitāban fīhi dhik'rukum afalā taʿqilūn

21:11

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةࣲ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةࣰ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝١١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And how many communities, which were unjust, did We destroy and We raised up other communities after them

wakam qaṣamnā min qaryatin kānat ẓālimatan wa-anshanā baʿdahā qawman ākharīn

21:12

فَلَمَّاۤ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأۡسَنَاۤ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا یَرۡكُضُونَ ۝١٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then, when they sensed Our punishment (approaching), they started fleeing fast from there

falammā aḥassū basanā idhā hum min'hā yarkuḍūn

21:13

لَا تَرۡكُضُوا۟ وَٱرۡجِعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَاۤ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِیهِ وَمَسَـٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡءَلُونَ ۝١٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(It was said to them:) ‘Do not flee in haste, and return to the same place where you were given comforts, and (go back) to your (luxurious) dwellings. It is likely that you are interrogated.

lā tarkuḍū wa-ir'jiʿū ilā mā ut'rif'tum fīhi wamasākinikum laʿallakum tus'alūn

21:14

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘Woe to us! Surely, we were wrongdoers.

qālū yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

21:15

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلۡكَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ حَصِیدًا خَـٰمِدِینَ ۝١٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So this is what they always bewailed till We made them like a reaped field (and a heap) of extinguished fire

famā zālat til'ka daʿwāhum ḥattā jaʿalnāhum ḥaṣīdan khāmidīn

21:16

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِینَ ۝١٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We have not created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them (useless) as a sport

wamā khalaqnā l-samāa wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā lāʿibīn

21:17

لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَاۤ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوࣰا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّاۤ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

If We intended to take up some sport, We would adopt it on Our own if at all We were to do (so)

law aradnā an nattakhidha lahwan la-ittakhadhnāhu min ladunnā in kunnā fāʿilīn

21:18

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ فَیَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقࣱۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَیۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ۝١٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Nay, We strike at falsehood with the truth with full force. So, the truth crushes it and it (i.e., the falsehood) gets destroyed. And you are bound to ruin yourselves owing to what you utter

bal naqdhifu bil-ḥaqi ʿalā l-bāṭili fayadmaghuhu fa-idhā huwa zāhiqun walakumu l-waylu mimmā taṣifūn

21:19

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا یَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ ۝١٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And whoever is in the heavens and in the earth (serves and) belongs to Him alone. And those (angels) who (remain) in His presence are not arrogant towards His worship, nor do they become weary (of carrying out His obedience)

walahu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi waman ʿindahu lā yastakbirūna ʿan ʿibādatihi walā yastaḥsirūn

21:20

یُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا یَفۡتُرُونَ ۝٢٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They glorify (Him) night and day ceaselessly, and do not observe even a momentary pause

yusabbiḥūna al-layla wal-nahāra lā yafturūn

21:21

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هُمۡ یُنشِرُونَ ۝٢١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Have they (the disbelievers) taken from (the contents of) the earth gods that can raise (the dead) alive

ami ittakhadhū ālihatan mina l-arḍi hum yunshirūn

21:22

لَوۡ كَانَ فِیهِمَاۤ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَاۚ فَسُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٢٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Had there been in these two (the heaven and the earth) other gods (as well) apart from Allah, then both would have been destroyed. So, Holy is Allah, the Lord of the Throne, Transcendent above all (the things) that these (polytheists) utter

law kāna fīhimā ālihatun illā l-lahu lafasadatā fasub'ḥāna l-lahi rabbi l-ʿarshi ʿammā yaṣifūn

21:23

لَا یُسۡءَلُ عَمَّا یَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ یُسۡءَلُونَ ۝٢٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He cannot be questioned for what He does and they will be questioned (for every action)

lā yus'alu ʿammā yafʿalu wahum yus'alūn

21:24

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ ءَالِهَةࣰۖ قُلۡ هَاتُوا۟ بُرۡهَـٰنَكُمۡۖ هَـٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِیَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِیۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٢٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Have they (the disbelievers) taken gods other than Him? Say: ‘Bring your proof. This (Qur’an) is the reminder of those who are with me and (also) the reminder of those who had been before me.’ But most of them do not know the truth, so they are averse to it

ami ittakhadhū min dūnihi ālihatan qul hātū bur'hānakum hādhā dhik'ru man maʿiya wadhik'ru man qablī bal aktharuhum lā yaʿlamūna l-ḥaqa fahum muʿ'riḍūn

21:25

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٢٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We did not send any Messenger before you, but We frequented the same revelation to him: ‘There is no God but I, so worship Me (alone).

wamā arsalnā min qablika min rasūlin illā nūḥī ilayhi annahu lā ilāha illā anā fa-uʿ'budūn

21:26

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ وَلَدࣰاۗ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥۚ بَلۡ عِبَادࣱ مُّكۡرَمُونَ ۝٢٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And they say: ‘The Most Kind (Lord) has taken (angels as His) children.’ Holy is He. Nay, (the angels whom they consider His children) are but (Allah’s) esteemed servants

waqālū ittakhadha l-raḥmānu waladan sub'ḥānahu bal ʿibādun muk'ramūn

21:27

لَا یَسۡبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَهُم بِأَمۡرِهِۦ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They do not precede Him in (uttering) any word, and they remain engaged in carrying out only His command

lā yasbiqūnahu bil-qawli wahum bi-amrihi yaʿmalūn

21:28

یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا یَشۡفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَتِهِۦ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٢٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He (Allah) knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede (before His presence) but for him with whom He is pleased. And they remain fearful of His Awe and Magnificence

yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wamā khalfahum walā yashfaʿūna illā limani ir'taḍā wahum min khashyatihi mush'fiqūn

21:29

۞ وَمَن یَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّیۤ إِلَـٰهࣱ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِیهِ جَهَنَّمَۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And who is it amongst them to say: ‘I am a God besides (Allah)’? So, him shall We award Hell as punishment. This is the way We punish the wrongdoers

waman yaqul min'hum innī ilāhun min dūnihi fadhālika najzīhi jahannama kadhālika najzī l-ẓālimīn

21:30

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ كَانَتَا رَتۡقࣰا فَفَتَقۡنَـٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَاۤءِ كُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّۚ أَفَلَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٣٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And have the disbelievers not seen that the whole heavenly universe and the earth were (all) joined together as one unit, and then We split them apart? And We originated (the life of) living organism (on earth) from water. So do they not accept faith (even after learning these facts brought forth by the Qur’an)

awalam yara alladhīna kafarū anna l-samāwāti wal-arḍa kānatā ratqan fafataqnāhumā wajaʿalnā mina l-māi kulla shayin ḥayyin afalā yu'minūn

21:31

وَجَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَ ٰسِیَ أَن تَمِیدَ بِهِمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیهَا فِجَاجࣰا سُبُلࣰا لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٣١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We set up firm mountains in the earth lest it should shake with them whilst rotating (in its orbit). And We made in this (earth) broad highways so that people might find routes (to reach different destinations)

wajaʿalnā fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim wajaʿalnā fīhā fijājan subulan laʿallahum yahtadūn

21:32

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ سَقۡفࣰا مَّحۡفُوظࣰاۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We made the heavens (i.e., the upper spheres of the earth) a secure roof (in order to save the inhabitants of the earth from adverse effects of fatal forces and aggressive waves shooting towards the earth from space), and they turn away from these signs (of upper spheres)

wajaʿalnā l-samāa saqfan maḥfūẓan wahum ʿan āyātihā muʿ'riḍūn

21:33

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ فِی فَلَكࣲ یَسۡبَحُونَ ۝٣٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (Allah) is He Who created the night and the day, and (also) the sun and the moon. All (heavenly bodies) are continually floating fast in their respective orbits

wahuwa alladhī khalaqa al-layla wal-nahāra wal-shamsa wal-qamara kullun fī falakin yasbaḥūn

21:34

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِی۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٣٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We have not granted eternity to any human being before you (in the physical life of the world). So, if you pass away (from here), will they live forever

wamā jaʿalnā libasharin min qablika l-khul'da afa-in mitta fahumu l-khālidūn

21:35

كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَیۡرِ فِتۡنَةࣰۖ وَإِلَیۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Every soul has to taste death, and We make you undergo foul and fair for trial, and towards Us will you be returned

kullu nafsin dhāiqatu l-mawti wanablūkum bil-shari wal-khayri fit'natan wa-ilaynā tur'jaʿūn

21:36

وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِن یَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَذۡكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ هُمۡ كَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٣٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when the disbelievers see you, they just start mocking you (and say:) ‘Is this the one who talks about your gods (with rejection and denial)?’ And yet it is they themselves who reject the mention of the Most Kind (Lord)

wa-idhā raāka alladhīna kafarū in yattakhidhūnaka illā huzuwan ahādhā alladhī yadhkuru ālihatakum wahum bidhik'ri l-raḥmāni hum kāfirūn

21:37

خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِنۡ عَجَلࣲۚ سَأُو۟رِیكُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِی فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ ۝٣٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Man has been created (instinctually) from haste. I shall soon show you My signs, so do not seek hurry

khuliqa l-insānu min ʿajalin sa-urīkum āyātī falā tastaʿjilūn

21:38

وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٣٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And they say: ‘When will this promise (of torment) be (fulfilled) if you are truthful?

wayaqūlūna matā hādhā l-waʿdu in kuntum ṣādiqīn

21:39

لَوۡ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِینَ لَا یَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یُنصَرُونَ ۝٣٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

If the disbelievers knew the time when they will not be able to keep off the Fire (of Hell) from their faces and their backs, nor will they be helped (then they would not call out to hasten the torment)

law yaʿlamu alladhīna kafarū ḥīna lā yakuffūna ʿan wujūhihimu l-nāra walā ʿan ẓuhūrihim walā hum yunṣarūn

21:40

بَلۡ تَأۡتِیهِم بَغۡتَةࣰ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ یُنظَرُونَ ۝٤٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

In fact, it (the Last Day) will come upon them all of a sudden and stun them. So neither will they have the power to avert it, nor will they be granted respite

bal tatīhim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falā yastaṭīʿūna raddahā walā hum yunẓarūn

21:41

وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِینَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٤١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And, of course, the Messengers were mocked before you too. Then those who ridiculed were beset by the same (torment) they used to make fun of

walaqadi us'tuh'zi-a birusulin min qablika faḥāqa bi-alladhīna sakhirū min'hum mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

21:42

قُلۡ مَن یَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٤٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘Who can guard and save you from (the punishment of) the Most Kind (Lord) by night and by day?’ In fact, they keep away from the remembrance of the (same) Lord

qul man yakla-ukum bi-al-layli wal-nahāri mina l-raḥmāni bal hum ʿan dhik'ri rabbihim muʿ'riḍūn

21:43

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةࣱ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا یُصۡحَبُونَ ۝٤٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Have they any gods apart from Us capable of saving them (from the torment)? They do not have any power even to help themselves. Nor will they get any support and alliance from Us

am lahum ālihatun tamnaʿuhum min dūninā lā yastaṭīʿūna naṣra anfusihim walā hum minnā yuṣ'ḥabūn

21:44

بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ وَءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا یَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِی ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَاۤۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝٤٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Nay, We provided for them and their fathers (generous luxuries) so much so that their life spans also gradually prolonged. So, do they not perceive that (through Islamic conquests) We are gradually reducing the land (under their control) from all borders? So, will they dominate (now)

bal mattaʿnā hāulāi waābāahum ḥattā ṭāla ʿalayhimu l-ʿumuru afalā yarawna annā natī l-arḍa nanquṣuhā min aṭrāfihā afahumu l-ghālibūn

21:45

قُلۡ إِنَّمَاۤ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡیِۚ وَلَا یَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَاۤءَ إِذَا مَا یُنذَرُونَ ۝٤٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘I warn you only through Revelation.’ But the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are warned

qul innamā undhirukum bil-waḥyi walā yasmaʿu l-ṣumu l-duʿāa idhā mā yundharūn

21:46

وَلَىِٕن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةࣱ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَیَقُولُنَّ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

If (even) a minor calamity from your Lord is to really touch them, they will surely say: ‘Woe to us. Certainly, we were the unjust.

wala-in massathum nafḥatun min ʿadhābi rabbika layaqūlunna yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

21:47

وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَ ٰزِینَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِیَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسࣱ شَیۡءࣰاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةࣲ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَیۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَـٰسِبِینَ ۝٤٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And on the Day of Resurrection, We shall set up balances of fairness and justice. So no soul will be wronged in the least. And if there is (someone’s deed) equal to the weight of a mustard seed, We shall bring forth that (as well). And We are Sufficient to take account

wanaḍaʿu l-mawāzīna l-qis'ṭa liyawmi l-qiyāmati falā tuẓ'lamu nafsun shayan wa-in kāna mith'qāla ḥabbatin min khardalin ataynā bihā wakafā binā ḥāsibīn

21:48

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِیَاۤءࣰ وَذِكۡرࣰا لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٤٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And indeed, We granted Musa (Moses) and Harun ([Aaron] the Book, the Torah) the criterion distinguishing (between right and wrong) and (the embodiment of) light and admonition for the Godfearing

walaqad ātaynā mūsā wahārūna l-fur'qāna waḍiyāan wadhik'ran lil'muttaqīn

21:49

ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٤٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(They are) those who fear their Lord unseen and who dread (the calamities of) the Hour (of Rising)

alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wahum mina l-sāʿati mush'fiqūn

21:50

وَهَـٰذَا ذِكۡرࣱ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٥٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

This (Qur’an) is the Most Blessed Admonition which We have revealed. Do you deny it

wahādhā dhik'run mubārakun anzalnāhu afa-antum lahu munkirūn

21:51

۞ وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَاۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ رُشۡدَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And surely, We awarded Ibrahim (Abraham) understanding and guidance (commensurate with his rank) well before, and We knew him full well (his competence and capability)

walaqad ātaynā ib'rāhīma rush'dahu min qablu wakunnā bihi ʿālimīn

21:52

إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِیهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِیلُ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا عَـٰكِفُونَ ۝٥٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

When he said to his father (i.e., uncle) and his people: ‘What idols are these (whose worship) you are stuck to, squatting?

idh qāla li-abīhi waqawmihi mā hādhihi l-tamāthīlu allatī antum lahā ʿākifūn

21:53

قَالُوا۟ وَجَدۡنَاۤ ءَابَاۤءَنَا لَهَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٥٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘We found our fathers worshipping them.

qālū wajadnā ābāanā lahā ʿābidīn

21:54

قَالَ لَقَدۡ كُنتُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُمۡ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٥٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Ibrahim (Abraham) said: ‘Surely, you and your fathers (all) were in manifest error.

qāla laqad kuntum antum waābāukum fī ḍalālin mubīni

21:55

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ أَمۡ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِینَ ۝٥٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘Have you (alone) brought the truth, or are you (just) one of the entertainers?

qālū aji'tanā bil-ḥaqi am anta mina l-lāʿibīn

21:56

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّذِی فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَ ٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِینَ ۝٥٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Ibrahim (Abraham) said: ‘The truth is that your Lord, Who created them (all), is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and I am of those who bear witness to this (truth)

qāla bal rabbukum rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi alladhī faṭarahunna wa-anā ʿalā dhālikum mina l-shāhidīn

21:57

وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِیدَنَّ أَصۡنَـٰمَكُم بَعۡدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٥٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And I swear by Allah, I shall certainly implement a plan against your idols after you turn back and go away.

watal-lahi la-akīdanna aṣnāmakum baʿda an tuwallū mud'birīn

21:58

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَ ٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِیرࣰا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٥٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then Ibrahim (Abraham) broke those (idols) into pieces except the biggest (idol) so that they might turn to it

fajaʿalahum judhādhan illā kabīran lahum laʿallahum ilayhi yarjiʿūn

21:59

قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَاۤ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘Who has done this to our gods? Surely, he is of the wrongdoers.

qālū man faʿala hādhā biālihatinā innahu lamina l-ẓālimīn

21:60

قَالُوا۟ سَمِعۡنَا فَتࣰى یَذۡكُرُهُمۡ یُقَالُ لَهُۥۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Some of the) people said: ‘We have heard of a young man who speaks of them (with denial and disgust). He is known as Ibrahim (Abraham).

qālū samiʿ'nā fatan yadhkuruhum yuqālu lahu ib'rāhīm

21:61

قَالُوا۟ فَأۡتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰۤ أَعۡیُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَشۡهَدُونَ ۝٦١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘Bring him before the people so that they may see (him).

qālū fatū bihi ʿalā aʿyuni l-nāsi laʿallahum yashhadūn

21:62

قَالُوۤا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلۡتَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَا یَـٰۤإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(When Ibrahim [Abraham] came) they said: ‘O Ibrahim (Abraham), is it you who have done this to our gods?

qālū a-anta faʿalta hādhā biālihatinā yāib'rāhīm

21:63

قَالَ بَلۡ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِیرُهُمۡ هَـٰذَا فَسۡءَلُوهُمۡ إِن كَانُوا۟ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He said: ‘Nay, this biggest (idol) of them would have done this. So ask these (very idols) if they can speak.

qāla bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fasalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūn

21:64

فَرَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۝٦٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then they turned to their own (reflections) and said: ‘Surely, you yourselves have become the wrongdoers (by worshipping these helpless idols incapable of doing anything).

farajaʿū ilā anfusihim faqālū innakum antumu l-ẓālimūn

21:65

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَ مَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then they were turned upside down upon their heads (i.e., their thinking reverted and they said: ‘Ibrahim [Abraham]), surely you yourself know that they do not speak.

thumma nukisū ʿalā ruūsihim laqad ʿalim'ta mā hāulāi yanṭiqūn

21:66

قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا یَنفَعُكُمۡ شَیۡءࣰا وَلَا یَضُرُّكُمۡ ۝٦٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Ibrahim [Abraham]) said: ‘Then do you worship apart from Allah these (idols) which can neither bring you any benefit, nor do you any harm

qāla afataʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi mā lā yanfaʿukum shayan walā yaḍurruku

21:67

أُفࣲّ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٦٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Fie on you and (also) on these (idols) that you worship apart from Allah! Do you not then have sense?

uffin lakum walimā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi afalā taʿqilūn

21:68

قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٦٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They said: ‘Burn him and help your (ruined) gods if you have to do (something).

qālū ḥarriqūhu wa-unṣurū ālihatakum in kuntum fāʿilīn

21:69

قُلۡنَا یَـٰنَارُ كُونِی بَرۡدࣰا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٦٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

We said: ‘O fire, be cool and become absolute safety for Ibrahim (Abraham).

qul'nā yānāru kūnī bardan wasalāman ʿalā ib'rāhīm

21:70

وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَیۡدࣰا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِینَ ۝٧٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And they had intended an evil plot against Ibrahim (Abraham) but We failed them badly

wa-arādū bihi kaydan fajaʿalnāhumu l-akhsarīn

21:71

وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَا لِلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (from Iraq) We rescued Ibrahim (Abraham) and Lut (Lot, his nephew, the son of his brother Haran,) towards (Syria), the land in which We have placed blessings for the people of the world

wanajjaynāhu walūṭan ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā lil'ʿālamīn

21:72

وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةࣰۖ وَكُلࣰّا جَعَلۡنَا صَـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We blessed him with (a son) Ishaq (Isaac) and (by his prayer a grandson) Ya‘qub (Jacob) in addition, and We made all of them pious

wawahabnā lahu is'ḥāqa wayaʿqūba nāfilatan wakullan jaʿalnā ṣāliḥīn

21:73

وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ یَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا وَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡ فِعۡلَ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِیتَاۤءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٧٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We made them the leaders (of mankind) who guided (people) by Our command, and We sent to them Revelation (giving commands) to do good deeds, establish Prayer and pay Zakat (the Alms-due). And all of them were Our devoted worshippers

wajaʿalnāhum a-immatan yahdūna bi-amrinā wa-awḥaynā ilayhim fiʿ'la l-khayrāti wa-iqāma l-ṣalati waītāa l-zakati wakānū lanā ʿābidīn

21:74

وَلُوطًا ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰا وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَرۡیَةِ ٱلَّتِی كَانَت تَّعۡمَلُ ٱلۡخَبَـٰۤىِٕثَۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٧٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We (also) bestowed upon Lut (Lot) wisdom and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town whose people practised filthy deeds. They were indeed a people with extremely evil (and) immoral character

walūṭan ātaynāhu ḥuk'man waʿil'man wanajjaynāhu mina l-qaryati allatī kānat taʿmalu l-khabāitha innahum kānū qawma sawin fāsiqīn

21:75

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We admitted Lut (Lot) to the fold of Our Mercy. Truly, he was of the pious

wa-adkhalnāhu fī raḥmatinā innahu mina l-ṣāliḥīn

21:76

وَنُوحًا إِذۡ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٧٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (recall) Nuh (Noah as well) when he called (on Us) before these (Prophets). So We granted his prayer. Then We delivered him and his family from great distress and grief

wanūḥan idh nādā min qablu fa-is'tajabnā lahu fanajjaynāhu wa-ahlahu mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm

21:77

وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَاۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٧٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We helped him against (most torturous circumstances of) the people who rejected Our Revelations. Surely, they (too) were a very evil people, so We drowned them all

wanaṣarnāhu mina l-qawmi alladhīna kadhabū biāyātinā innahum kānū qawma sawin fa-aghraqnāhum ajmaʿīn

21:78

وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ إِذۡ یَحۡكُمَانِ فِی ٱلۡحَرۡثِ إِذۡ نَفَشَتۡ فِیهِ غَنَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكۡمِهِمۡ شَـٰهِدِینَ ۝٧٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (also call to mind the account of) Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon) when both of them were to decide (the dispute) of a crop when the goats of a tribe, unattended by the shepherd, entered the field at night (and destroyed it). And We were witnessing their judgment

wadāwūda wasulaymāna idh yaḥkumāni fī l-ḥarthi idh nafashat fīhi ghanamu l-qawmi wakunnā liḥuk'mihim shāhidīn

21:79

فَفَهَّمۡنَـٰهَا سُلَیۡمَـٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَیۡنَا حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ یُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّیۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So We alone taught Sulayman ([Solomon] the way to make that judgment) and blessed them all with reason and knowledge. And We made (even) the mountains and the birds subservient to (the command of) Dawud (David). They all celebrated (Our) praise (with him jointly). And it was We Who were doing (all this)

fafahhamnāhā sulaymāna wakullan ātaynā ḥuk'man waʿil'man wasakharnā maʿa dāwūda l-jibāla yusabbiḥ'na wal-ṭayra wakunnā fāʿilīn

21:80

وَعَلَّمۡنَـٰهُ صَنۡعَةَ لَبُوسࣲ لَّكُمۡ لِتُحۡصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأۡسِكُمۡۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُمۡ شَـٰكِرُونَ ۝٨٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We taught Dawud (David) the art of making the coats of mail for you to protect you from injury in your battle. Are you then grateful

waʿallamnāhu ṣanʿata labūsin lakum lituḥ'ṣinakum min basikum fahal antum shākirūn

21:81

وَلِسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّیحَ عَاصِفَةࣰ تَجۡرِی بِأَمۡرِهِۦۤ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَاۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And to Sulayman ([Solomon] We subjected) the violent wind which used to blow by his command (from all sides and directions) towards (Syria), the land in which We have placed blessings. And We know everything (full) well

walisulaymāna l-rīḥa ʿāṣifatan tajrī bi-amrihi ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā wakunnā bikulli shayin ʿālimīn

21:82

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ مَن یَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَیَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلࣰا دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَـٰفِظِینَ ۝٨٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (We) also made (subservient to Sulayman [Solomon]) some of satans (devils and jinn) who dived for him (into the seas) and, besides that, accomplished other services also (under his command). And We alone kept watch over them (devils)

wamina l-shayāṭīni man yaghūṣūna lahu wayaʿmalūna ʿamalan dūna dhālika wakunnā lahum ḥāfiẓīn

21:83

۞ وَأَیُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥۤ أَنِّی مَسَّنِیَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝٨٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (call to mind the account of) Ayyub (Job) when he called out to his Lord: ‘Misery has laid a hand on me, and You are the Most Merciful of all the merciful.

wa-ayyūba idh nādā rabbahu annī massaniya l-ḍuru wa-anta arḥamu l-rāḥimīn

21:84

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرࣲّۖ وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٨٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So We granted his prayer, and We removed the misery that was afflicting him. And We (also) gave him back his family, and (bestowed upon him) the like of them along with them. This is an exceptional mercy from Us, and Advice for those who are devoted to Our worship (that is how Allah rewards patience and gratitude)

fa-is'tajabnā lahu fakashafnā mā bihi min ḍurrin waātaynāhu ahlahu wamith'lahum maʿahum raḥmatan min ʿindinā wadhik'rā lil'ʿābidīn

21:85

وَإِسۡمَـٰعِیلَ وَإِدۡرِیسَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ كُلࣱّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝٨٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (also recall) Isma‘il (Ishmael), and Idris and Dhu al-Kifl. They were all steadfast men of patience

wa-is'māʿīla wa-id'rīsa wadhā l-kif'li kullun mina l-ṣābirīn

21:86

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٨٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And We admitted them to (the embrace of) Our mercy. Surely, they were of the pious

wa-adkhalnāhum fī raḥmatinā innahum mina l-ṣāliḥīn

21:87

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبࣰا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَیۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِی ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنتَ سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّی كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (also remember) Dhu al-Nun (the Prophet whom the fish swallowed) when he went away enraged (at his people). So he thought that We would not cause him any distress (during that journey). Then he cried out (entangled) in (the layers of) the darkness (of night, under the sea and in the fish belly): ‘There is no God except You. Glory be to You! Surely, I was of those who wrong (their souls).

wadhā l-nūni idh dhahaba mughāḍiban faẓanna an lan naqdira ʿalayhi fanādā fī l-ẓulumāti an lā ilāha illā anta sub'ḥānaka innī kuntu mina l-ẓālimīn

21:88

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نُۨجِی ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So We granted his prayer and We delivered him from grief. And likewise, We always deliver the believers

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wanajjaynāhu mina l-ghami wakadhālika nunjī l-mu'minīn

21:89

وَزَكَرِیَّاۤ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِی فَرۡدࣰا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ۝٨٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (remember) Zakariyya ([Zacharias] as well) when he called out to his Lord: ‘O my Lord, leave me not single and You are the Best of all inheritors.

wazakariyyā idh nādā rabbahu rabbi lā tadharnī fardan wa-anta khayru l-wārithīn

21:90

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ یَحۡیَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَیَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبࣰا وَرَهَبࣰاۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِینَ ۝٩٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So We granted his prayer, and We blessed him with Yahya (John) and, for his sake, made his wife healthy (i.e., fertile). Surely, they (all) used to hasten in (doing) pious deeds and used to call on Us (feeling) eager, fond, fearful and frightened, and used to humble before Our presence in tearful submissions

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wawahabnā lahu yaḥyā wa-aṣlaḥnā lahu zawjahu innahum kānū yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wayadʿūnanā raghaban warahaban wakānū lanā khāshiʿīn

21:91

وَٱلَّتِیۤ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِیهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَاۤ ءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٩١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And (call to mind) that (embodiment of purity) Maryam ([Mary] as well) who guarded her chastity. Then We breathed into her of Our Spirit, and We made her and her son (‘Isa [Jesus]) a sign (of Our power) for the people of the world

wa-allatī aḥṣanat farjahā fanafakhnā fīhā min rūḥinā wajaʿalnāhā wa-ib'nahā āyatan lil'ʿālamīn

21:92

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٩٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Surely, these (people) are your Umma ([Community] and all) are one Umma. And I am your Lord, so worship Me (alone)

inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-uʿ'budūn

21:93

وَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَیۡنَا رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٩٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And these (People of the Book) split up their Din [Religion] into pieces amongst themselves. To Us they all will return

wataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum kullun ilaynā rājiʿūn

21:94

فَمَن یَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنࣱ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡیِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَـٰتِبُونَ ۝٩٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So whoever does good deeds and is a believer as well, (the reward of) his effort will not be refused, and surely We are writing down (all) his deeds

faman yaʿmal mina l-ṣāliḥāti wahuwa mu'minun falā kuf'rāna lisaʿyihi wa-innā lahu kātibūn

21:95

وَحَرَ ٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٩٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And it is not possible that the people of the town whom We destroyed will not return to Us (after death)

waḥarāmun ʿalā qaryatin ahlaknāhā annahum lā yarjiʿūn

21:96

حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ یَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبࣲ یَنسِلُونَ ۝٩٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Until when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they will come down running from every high place

ḥattā idhā futiḥat yajūju wamajūju wahum min kulli ḥadabin yansilūn

21:97

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِیَ شَـٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَـٰرُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And the true promise (of the Day of Resurrection) will draw near, then the eyes of the disbelievers will suddenly fix staring (and they will cry out:) ‘Woe to us! We were indeed oblivious of (the arrival of) this (Day); in fact, we were unjust.

wa-iq'taraba l-waʿdu l-ḥaqu fa-idhā hiya shākhiṣatun abṣāru alladhīna kafarū yāwaylanā qad kunnā fī ghaflatin min hādhā bal kunnā ẓālimīn

21:98

إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَ ٰرِدُونَ ۝٩٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Surely, you and the (idols) you worship besides Allah (all) are the fuel of Hell. You are going to enter it

innakum wamā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi ḥaṣabu jahannama antum lahā wāridūn

21:99

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ءَالِهَةࣰ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلࣱّ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٩٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Had they been (true) gods, they would not have entered Hell. And all of them will stay in it forever

law kāna hāulāi ālihatan mā waradūhā wakullun fīhā khālidūn

21:100

لَهُمۡ فِیهَا زَفِیرࣱ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ ۝١٠٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

There will be their (sighing and wailing, a) roar of screaming in it, and they will not be able to hear in it anything (else)

lahum fīhā zafīrun wahum fīhā lā yasmaʿūn

21:101

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۤ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ ۝١٠١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Surely, those for whom good has already been decreed from Us will be kept away from (Hell)

inna alladhīna sabaqat lahum minnā l-ḥus'nā ulāika ʿanhā mub'ʿadūn

21:102

لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ حَسِیسَهَاۖ وَهُمۡ فِی مَا ٱشۡتَهَتۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They shall not hear even its slightest hissing sound, and they shall live forever amongst those (bounties) which their hearts will long for

lā yasmaʿūna ḥasīsahā wahum fī mā ish'tahat anfusuhum khālidūn

21:103

لَا یَحۡزُنُهُمُ ٱلۡفَزَعُ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Even) the Greatest Horror (of the Day of Rising) will not grieve them and the angels will welcome them, (saying:) ‘This is (but) your Day which you were promised.

lā yaḥzunuhumu l-fazaʿu l-akbaru watatalaqqāhumu l-malāikatu hādhā yawmukumu alladhī kuntum tūʿadūn

21:104

یَوۡمَ نَطۡوِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ كَطَیِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَاۤ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقࣲ نُّعِیدُهُۥۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَیۡنَاۤۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٠٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

On that Day, We shall roll up the (whole) heavenly universe as the written papers are rolled up. The way We created (the universe) the first time, We shall repeat the same process of creation (after its extinction). We have made it binding upon Us to fulfil this promise. We will do (repeat it)

yawma naṭwī l-samāa kaṭayyi l-sijili lil'kutubi kamā badanā awwala khalqin nuʿīduhu waʿdan ʿalaynā innā kunnā fāʿilīn

21:105

وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِی ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ یَرِثُهَا عِبَادِیَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And surely We wrote in the al-Zabur (the Psalms) after (stating the) admonition that the inheritors of the earth (in the Hereafter) will be My pious servants

walaqad katabnā fī l-zabūri min baʿdi l-dhik'ri anna l-arḍa yarithuhā ʿibādiya l-ṣāliḥūn

21:106

إِنَّ فِی هَـٰذَا لَبَلَـٰغࣰا لِّقَوۡمٍ عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝١٠٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Surely, there is for the devoted worshippers a guarantee and sufficient provision in this (Qur’an of achieving the objective)

inna fī hādhā labalāghan liqawmin ʿābidīn

21:107

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٠٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And, (O Esteemed Messenger,) We have not sent you but as a mercy for all the worlds

wamā arsalnāka illā raḥmatan lil'ʿālamīn

21:108

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ أَنَّمَاۤ إِلَـٰهُكُمۡ إِلَـٰهࣱ وَ ٰحِدࣱۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ ۝١٠٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘This is what is revealed to me that your God is One God (only). Do you then accept Islam?

qul innamā yūḥā ilayya annamā ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun fahal antum mus'limūn

21:109

فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡا۟ فَقُلۡ ءَاذَنتُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَاۤءࣲۖ وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِیۤ أَقَرِیبٌ أَم بَعِیدࣱ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then, if they turn away, say: ‘I have conveyed to you all alike, and I do not know (on my own) whether that (torment) which you are promised is near or far

fa-in tawallaw faqul ādhantukum ʿalā sawāin wa-in adrī aqarībun am baʿīdun mā tūʿadūn

21:110

إِنَّهُۥ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡتُمُونَ ۝١١٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He surely knows what you utter loudly, and also knows (all) that you keep secret

innahu yaʿlamu l-jahra mina l-qawli wayaʿlamu mā taktumūn

21:111

وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِی لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةࣱ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١١١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And I do not know (on my own) that this (delaying of the torment and the respite given to you) may perhaps be a trial for you, and the intention may be to provide (you) a benefit till a fixed time.

wa-in adrī laʿallahu fit'natun lakum wamatāʿun ilā ḥīni

21:112

قَـٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ ۝١١٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Our Beloved) submitted: ‘My Lord, judge (between us) with truth, and Our Lord is Ever-Merciful and He is the One Whose help is sought against the (heart-rending) words which, (O disbelievers,) you utter.

qāla rabbi uḥ'kum bil-ḥaqi warabbunā l-raḥmānu l-mus'taʿānu ʿalā mā taṣifūn
