1 Judgment approaches

۞ ٱقۡتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝١

MunirMezyed2023

(The time) of the reckoning for the people is drawing closer: Yet they are heedlessly falling away (from the Faith).

iq'taraba lilnnāsi ḥisābuhum wahum fī ghaflatin muʿ'riḍūn

مَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن ذِكۡرࣲ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسۡتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمۡ یَلۡعَبُونَ ۝٢

Whenever a new Revelation Knowledge comes to them from their Lord (to admonish them), they listen to it yet playing.

mā yatīhim min dhik'rin min rabbihim muḥ'dathin illā is'tamaʿūhu wahum yalʿabūn

لَاهِیَةࣰ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجۡوَى ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖ أَفَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَأَنتُمۡ تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣

Their hearts are preoccupied (with lusts). Those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims prefer to confer among themselves in secret. (They ask): ‘Is this (Muhammad) no more than a human being like you? Will you then yield to (his) sorcery while you are aware of (it)?’

lāhiyatan qulūbuhum wa-asarrū l-najwā alladhīna ẓalamū hal hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum afatatūna l-siḥ'ra wa-antum tub'ṣirūn

قَالَ رَبِّی یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِیعُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٤

He said: ‘My Lord has full knowledge of every word spoken in the heavens or on the earth. He is the All-Hearing- the All-Knowing.

qāla rabbī yaʿlamu l-qawla fī l-samāi wal-arḍi wahuwa l-samīʿu l-ʿalīm

بَلۡ قَالُوۤا۟ أَضۡغَـٰثُ أَحۡلَـٰمِۭ بَلِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ بَلۡ هُوَ شَاعِرࣱ فَلۡیَأۡتِنَا بِءَایَةࣲ كَمَاۤ أُرۡسِلَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝٥

Nay, but they say: ‘(The Verses of the Qur’ān are no more than) muddled dreams! Nay, but He has forged it! Nay, but he is a poet! Now, therefore let him bring us a Sign (of wonder attributed to divine power) such as the former (Messengers) were sent (with)’.

bal qālū aḍghāthu aḥlāmin bali if'tarāhu bal huwa shāʿirun falyatinā biāyatin kamā ur'sila l-awalūn

مَاۤ ءَامَنَتۡ قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤۖ أَفَهُمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٦

Not a single town that We utterly destroyed adhered to Monotheism before them, Will these people then adhere to Monotheistic Faith?

mā āmanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknāhā afahum yu'minūn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا نُّوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡءَلُوۤا۟ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٧

And We didn’t sent (Messengers) before you other than men whom We inspired. Now, therefore, ( go and) ask those who have spiritual knowledge of the previously revealed scriptures if you don’t know.

wamā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nūḥī ilayhim fasalū ahla l-dhik'ri in kuntum lā taʿlamūn

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ جَسَدࣰا لَّا یَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰلِدِینَ ۝٨

And We didn’t give them (supernatural) bodies that didn’t need food, nor were they immortal!

wamā jaʿalnāhum jasadan lā yakulūna l-ṭaʿāma wamā kānū khālidīn

ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَاۤءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِینَ ۝٩

Then we fulfilled Our Promise to them: We saved them and all whom We willed. And We destroyed the prodigals.

thumma ṣadaqnāhumu l-waʿda fa-anjaynāhum waman nashāu wa-ahlaknā l-mus'rifīn

لَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فِیهِ ذِكۡرُكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٠

MunirMezyed2023

(O' mankind), We send down to you a (Perfect) Book in which is your remembrance. Don't you have conscious thoughts at least in this sense?

laqad anzalnā ilaykum kitāban fīhi dhik'rukum afalā taʿqilūn

2 Truth triumphed always

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةࣲ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةࣰ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝١١

(Just imagine) so many towns We destroyed (their inhabitants) when they had voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims. Then We raised up after them another people.

wakam qaṣamnā min qaryatin kānat ẓālimatan wa-anshanā baʿdahā qawman ākharīn

فَلَمَّاۤ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأۡسَنَاۤ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا یَرۡكُضُونَ ۝١٢

So when they felt Our Mighty Power approaching, they started to run away from their town.

falammā aḥassū basanā idhā hum min'hā yarkuḍūn

لَا تَرۡكُضُوا۟ وَٱرۡجِعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَاۤ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِیهِ وَمَسَـٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡءَلُونَ ۝١٣

(But they were told): ‘Don’t run away, but return to your comforts and your homes so that you will be questioned’.

lā tarkuḍū wa-ir'jiʿū ilā mā ut'rif'tum fīhi wamasākinikum laʿallakum tus'alūn

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٤

And they said: ‘Ah! Woe betide us! We were of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.

qālū yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلۡكَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ حَصِیدًا خَـٰمِدِینَ ۝١٥

That cry of theirs didn’t cease until We made them like a reaped crop, silent and still.

famā zālat til'ka daʿwāhum ḥattā jaʿalnāhum ḥaṣīdan khāmidīn

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِینَ ۝١٦

MunirMezyed2023

And We didn’t create the heavens, the earth and all that is between them in vain.

wamā khalaqnā l-samāa wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā lāʿibīn

لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَاۤ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوࣰا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّاۤ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٧

If We had intended to find a pastime, We would surely have taken it from what is with US, if We were to do so!

law aradnā an nattakhidha lahwan la-ittakhadhnāhu min ladunnā in kunnā fāʿilīn

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ فَیَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقࣱۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَیۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ۝١٨

And We expound the truth and hurl it at falsehood so that the truth refutes and quells it, and lo! it vanishes completely. Woe betide you for all the falsehood you attribute (to Allâh).

bal naqdhifu bil-ḥaqi ʿalā l-bāṭili fayadmaghuhu fa-idhā huwa zāhiqun walakumu l-waylu mimmā taṣifūn

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا یَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ ۝١٩

Unto Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and on the earth. And those who are with Him - (the Angels)- are not too proud to worship ( & venerate) Him, neither do they become weary in doing so.

walahu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi waman ʿindahu lā yastakbirūna ʿan ʿibādatihi walā yastaḥsirūn

یُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا یَفۡتُرُونَ ۝٢٠

They celebrate His praise and declare His absolute majesty and glory night and day without showing any sign of fatigue, or losing enthusiasm.

yusabbiḥūna al-layla wal-nahāra lā yafturūn

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هُمۡ یُنشِرُونَ ۝٢١

What! Have they taken gods from the earth (in belief that) they are capable of giving life to the dead?

ami ittakhadhū ālihatan mina l-arḍi hum yunshirūn

لَوۡ كَانَ فِیهِمَاۤ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَاۚ فَسُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٢٢

MunirMezyed2023

If there had been (in the heavens or on the earth) any gods beside Allâh, then both would surely have fallen into ruin. So Exalted is Allâh, the Lord of the (Glorious) Throne. (Supreme is He) above all that which they attribute (to Him)!

law kāna fīhimā ālihatun illā l-lahu lafasadatā fasub'ḥāna l-lahi rabbi l-ʿarshi ʿammā yaṣifūn

لَا یُسۡءَلُ عَمَّا یَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ یُسۡءَلُونَ ۝٢٣

MunirMezyed2023

He cannot be questioned about what He does, but they will all be questioned (about their actions).

lā yus'alu ʿammā yafʿalu wahum yus'alūn

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ ءَالِهَةࣰۖ قُلۡ هَاتُوا۟ بُرۡهَـٰنَكُمۡۖ هَـٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِیَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِیۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٢٤

Or have they taken other gods, other than Him? Say: ‘Bring to us any irrefutable argument (to support such a claim). This Qur’ān is the Reminder of those with me, and the Reminder of those before me." But most of them don’t posses enough knowledge of the Truth, thus, they turn away in a repulsive manner.

ami ittakhadhū min dūnihi ālihatan qul hātū bur'hānakum hādhā dhik'ru man maʿiya wadhik'ru man qablī bal aktharuhum lā yaʿlamūna l-ḥaqa fahum muʿ'riḍūn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٢٥

We sent no Messenger before you but We inspired him: “There is no other god beside Me. Now, therefore, worship Me” (in the way I want you to worship Me).

wamā arsalnā min qablika min rasūlin illā nūḥī ilayhi annahu lā ilāha illā anā fa-uʿ'budūn

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ وَلَدࣰاۗ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥۚ بَلۡ عِبَادࣱ مُّكۡرَمُونَ ۝٢٦

Yet some say: ‘The True Merciful (God) has taken to Himself a son’. All Glory Be To Him! Nay, those are but honored and devoted servants.

waqālū ittakhadha l-raḥmānu waladan sub'ḥānahu bal ʿibādun muk'ramūn

لَا یَسۡبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَهُم بِأَمۡرِهِۦ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٧

And they speak only when He allows them to do so and they act according to His Command.

lā yasbiqūnahu bil-qawli wahum bi-amrihi yaʿmalūn

یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا یَشۡفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَتِهِۦ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٢٨

MunirMezyed2023

He has full knowledge of whatever is before them and whatever is behind them. They cannot intercede except for one whom He approves, and they themselves tremble in awe of His (Greatness).

yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wamā khalfahum walā yashfaʿūna illā limani ir'taḍā wahum min khashyatihi mush'fiqūn

۞ وَمَن یَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّیۤ إِلَـٰهࣱ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِیهِ جَهَنَّمَۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٩

MunirMezyed2023

And should any of them say: ‘I am a god beside Him’, such a one We will requite with Gehenna. This is how We requite those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.

waman yaqul min'hum innī ilāhun min dūnihi fadhālika najzīhi jahannama kadhālika najzī l-ẓālimīn

3 Truth of Revelation

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ كَانَتَا رَتۡقࣰا فَفَتَقۡنَـٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَاۤءِ كُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّۚ أَفَلَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٣٠

Don’t those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth see that the heavens and the earth were at first one piece then We parted them as separate entities? And We have made every living thing from water. Will they not then adhere to Faith?

awalam yara alladhīna kafarū anna l-samāwāti wal-arḍa kānatā ratqan fafataqnāhumā wajaʿalnā mina l-māi kulla shayin ḥayyin afalā yu'minūn

وَجَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَ ٰسِیَ أَن تَمِیدَ بِهِمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیهَا فِجَاجࣰا سُبُلࣰا لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٣١

MunirMezyed2023

And We have set up firm hills on the earth lest it should quake with them. And We have made therein wide ways so that they might follow the right direction.

wajaʿalnā fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim wajaʿalnā fīhā fijājan subulan laʿallahum yahtadūn

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ سَقۡفࣰا مَّحۡفُوظࣰاۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣٢

MunirMezyed2023

And We have established the heavens as a canopy, safe and well protected. Yet they pay no attention to its signs.

wajaʿalnā l-samāa saqfan maḥfūẓan wahum ʿan āyātihā muʿ'riḍūn

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ فِی فَلَكࣲ یَسۡبَحُونَ ۝٣٣

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the One Who created the night and day, the sun and the moon- each floating in its own orbit.

wahuwa alladhī khalaqa al-layla wal-nahāra wal-shamsa wal-qamara kullun fī falakin yasbaḥūn

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِی۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٣٤

MunirMezyed2023

And We never granted immortality to any human being before you. So if you die, will they live forever?

wamā jaʿalnā libasharin min qablika l-khul'da afa-in mitta fahumu l-khālidūn

كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَیۡرِ فِتۡنَةࣰۖ وَإِلَیۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٥

MunirMezyed2023

Every human person is bound to taste death, and We put you to test through hardship and prosperity (in order to identify you). Then unto Us you shall be brought back.

kullu nafsin dhāiqatu l-mawti wanablūkum bil-shari wal-khayri fit'natan wa-ilaynā tur'jaʿūn

وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِن یَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَذۡكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ هُمۡ كَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٣٦

MunirMezyed2023

And When those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth see you, they only poke fun at you, (saying): ‘Is this the one who talks (awfully) about your gods?’ Yet, at the mention of the True Merciful (God), they are tempted to reject.

wa-idhā raāka alladhīna kafarū in yattakhidhūnaka illā huzuwan ahādhā alladhī yadhkuru ālihatakum wahum bidhik'ri l-raḥmāni hum kāfirūn

خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِنۡ عَجَلࣲۚ سَأُو۟رِیكُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِی فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ ۝٣٧

MunirMezyed2023

And man by his nature is impatient. I will soon show you My Signs (of power & glory). Now, therefore, don’t ask Me to hasten them.

khuliqa l-insānu min ʿajalin sa-urīkum āyātī falā tastaʿjilūn

وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٣٨

MunirMezyed2023

And they say: ‘When will this promise (be fulfilled) if you are truthful?’

wayaqūlūna matā hādhā l-waʿdu in kuntum ṣādiqīn

لَوۡ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِینَ لَا یَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یُنصَرُونَ ۝٣٩

If those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth but knew the time when they will be incapable of averting the Fire from their faces or from their backs, and they shall not be helped!

law yaʿlamu alladhīna kafarū ḥīna lā yakuffūna ʿan wujūhihimu l-nāra walā ʿan ẓuhūrihim walā hum yunṣarūn

بَلۡ تَأۡتِیهِم بَغۡتَةࣰ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ یُنظَرُونَ ۝٤٠

Nay! It will come upon them unexpectedly, and then it will leave them totally flabbergasted. Verily, they won’t have the power to avert it, neither will they be given any respite.

bal tatīhim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falā yastaṭīʿūna raddahā walā hum yunẓarūn

وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِینَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٤١

Verily, (many) Messengers were mocked before you, but the mockers were encompassed by what they used to mock.

walaqadi us'tuh'zi-a birusulin min qablika faḥāqa bi-alladhīna sakhirū min'hum mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

4 Allah deals Mercifully

قُلۡ مَن یَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٤٢

MunirMezyed2023

Say: ‘Who can protect you from (the punishment of) the True Merciful (God) during the night or during the day?’ Nay, but they turn away from celebrating the praise of their Lord and declaring His glory.

qul man yakla-ukum bi-al-layli wal-nahāri mina l-raḥmāni bal hum ʿan dhik'ri rabbihim muʿ'riḍūn

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةࣱ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا یُصۡحَبُونَ ۝٤٣

Or do they really have gods apart from Us to protect them? They- (fabled gods)- are incapable of helping themselves; neither can they obtain any sort of protection from Us.

am lahum ālihatun tamnaʿuhum min dūninā lā yastaṭīʿūna naṣra anfusihim walā hum minnā yuṣ'ḥabūn

بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ وَءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا یَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِی ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَاۤۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝٤٤

The fact is that We give the enjoyment of this life to these men and their forefathers, so they have lived for a long time in comfort and safety. Do they not see how We progressively reduce the land (which in their control) from its outlying parts? Are they the ones who will prevail?

bal mattaʿnā hāulāi waābāahum ḥattā ṭāla ʿalayhimu l-ʿumuru afalā yarawna annā natī l-arḍa nanquṣuhā min aṭrāfihā afahumu l-ghālibūn

قُلۡ إِنَّمَاۤ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡیِۚ وَلَا یَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَاۤءَ إِذَا مَا یُنذَرُونَ ۝٤٥

Say: ’I warn you only by the (power of) the Revelation Knowledge. Only the deaf don’t hear the call when they are warned.

qul innamā undhirukum bil-waḥyi walā yasmaʿu l-ṣumu l-duʿāa idhā mā yundharūn

وَلَىِٕن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةࣱ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَیَقُولُنَّ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤٦

If it happens that a whiff of the chastisement of your Lord touched them, they will surely say: ‘Ah! Woe betide us! We were of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.

wala-in massathum nafḥatun min ʿadhābi rabbika layaqūlunna yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَ ٰزِینَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِیَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسࣱ شَیۡءࣰاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةࣲ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَیۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَـٰسِبِینَ ۝٤٧

And We shall set up the scales of (the absolute) justice on the Day of Resurrection so that no one will be wronged in any way: even though it be a deed so much as the weight of a grain of mustard seed, We will bring it forth (to be weighed). And sufficient are We to take account.

wanaḍaʿu l-mawāzīna l-qis'ṭa liyawmi l-qiyāmati falā tuẓ'lamu nafsun shayan wa-in kāna mith'qāla ḥabbatin min khardalin ataynā bihā wakafā binā ḥāsibīn

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِیَاۤءࣰ وَذِكۡرࣰا لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٤٨

And verily We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) - a light and an enlightenment for the Pious,

walaqad ātaynā mūsā wahārūna l-fur'qāna waḍiyāan wadhik'ran lil'muttaqīn

ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٤٩

MunirMezyed2023

Who stand in awe of their Lord and feel a great deal of apprehension about the Hour.

alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wahum mina l-sāʿati mush'fiqūn

وَهَـٰذَا ذِكۡرࣱ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٥٠

And this Qur'ān is a Blessed Reminder which We have sent down. Are they, then, tempted to deny it?

wahādhā dhik'run mubārakun anzalnāhu afa-antum lahu munkirūn

5 Abraham — Allah always delivers Prophets

۞ وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَاۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ رُشۡدَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥١

MunirMezyed2023

And verily We had endowed Abraham with high self-awareness. And We knew him fully well.

walaqad ātaynā ib'rāhīma rush'dahu min qablu wakunnā bihi ʿālimīn

إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِیهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِیلُ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا عَـٰكِفُونَ ۝٥٢

He said to his father and his people: ‘What are these sculptures to which you are so diligently devoted?’

idh qāla li-abīhi waqawmihi mā hādhihi l-tamāthīlu allatī antum lahā ʿākifūn

قَالُوا۟ وَجَدۡنَاۤ ءَابَاۤءَنَا لَهَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٥٣

MunirMezyed2023

They said: ‘We found our fathers worshiping them’.

qālū wajadnā ābāanā lahā ʿābidīn

قَالَ لَقَدۡ كُنتُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُمۡ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٥٤

MunirMezyed2023

He said: ‘Then indeed you and your fathers have been in manifest deception’.

qāla laqad kuntum antum waābāukum fī ḍalālin mubīni

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ أَمۡ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِینَ ۝٥٥

MunirMezyed2023

They said: ‘Have you brought the truth, or are you one of those who do not behave seriously?’

qālū aji'tanā bil-ḥaqi am anta mina l-lāʿibīn

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّذِی فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَ ٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِینَ ۝٥٦

MunirMezyed2023

He said: "Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who originated them. And I am one of those who bear witness to this:

qāla bal rabbukum rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi alladhī faṭarahunna wa-anā ʿalā dhālikum mina l-shāhidīn

وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِیدَنَّ أَصۡنَـٰمَكُم بَعۡدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٥٧

MunirMezyed2023

And, by Allâh, I will certainly plot a plan for your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs.

watal-lahi la-akīdanna aṣnāmakum baʿda an tuwallū mud'birīn

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَ ٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِیرࣰا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٥٨

MunirMezyed2023

So he broke all of them into pieces, except the biggest one of them, so that they might return to it.

fajaʿalahum judhādhan illā kabīran lahum laʿallahum ilayhi yarjiʿūn

قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَاۤ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥٩

MunirMezyed2023

They said: ’Who has done this to our gods? Surely he is (one) of the impious’.

qālū man faʿala hādhā biālihatinā innahu lamina l-ẓālimīn

قَالُوا۟ سَمِعۡنَا فَتࣰى یَذۡكُرُهُمۡ یُقَالُ لَهُۥۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٠

MunirMezyed2023

Some of them said: ‘We heard a youth called Abraham speaking against them’.

qālū samiʿ'nā fatan yadhkuruhum yuqālu lahu ib'rāhīm

قَالُوا۟ فَأۡتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰۤ أَعۡیُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَشۡهَدُونَ ۝٦١

MunirMezyed2023

They yelled: ‘Then bring him before the eyes of the people so that they may testify ‘.

qālū fatū bihi ʿalā aʿyuni l-nāsi laʿallahum yashhadūn

قَالُوۤا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلۡتَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَا یَـٰۤإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٢

MunirMezyed2023

They asked him: ‘Was it you who did this to our gods, O’ Abraham?’

qālū a-anta faʿalta hādhā biālihatinā yāib'rāhīm

قَالَ بَلۡ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِیرُهُمۡ هَـٰذَا فَسۡءَلُوهُمۡ إِن كَانُوا۟ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٣

MunirMezyed2023

He said: ‘Nay, but it was done by this, the biggest one of them! Ask them if they can speak’.

qāla bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fasalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūn

فَرَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۝٦٤

MunirMezyed2023

Then they turned to themselves and said: ‘Truly it is you who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.

farajaʿū ilā anfusihim faqālū innakum antumu l-ẓālimūn

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَ مَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٥

MunirMezyed2023

Then they were made to bow their heads and cast down their eyes, (saying:): ‘Very well indeed you know that these images don’t speak’.

thumma nukisū ʿalā ruūsihim laqad ʿalim'ta mā hāulāi yanṭiqūn

قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا یَنفَعُكُمۡ شَیۡءࣰا وَلَا یَضُرُّكُمۡ ۝٦٦

MunirMezyed2023

Abraham said: ‘Do you worship that, besides Allâh, which can neither profit you nor hurt you?’

qāla afataʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi mā lā yanfaʿukum shayan walā yaḍurruku

أُفࣲّ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٦٧

MunirMezyed2023

Fie upon you and upon that which you worship besides Allâh! Don't you have conscious thoughts at least in this sense?’

uffin lakum walimā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi afalā taʿqilūn

قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٦٨

MunirMezyed2023

They yelled: ‘Burn him and avenge your gods If you would do aught’.

qālū ḥarriqūhu wa-unṣurū ālihatakum in kuntum fāʿilīn

قُلۡنَا یَـٰنَارُ كُونِی بَرۡدࣰا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٦٩

MunirMezyed2023

We said: ‘O’ fire! Be coolness and safety for Abraham!’

qul'nā yānāru kūnī bardan wasalāman ʿalā ib'rāhīm

وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَیۡدࣰا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِینَ ۝٧٠

MunirMezyed2023

They meant evil against him. But We made them the worse losers.

wa-arādū bihi kaydan fajaʿalnāhumu l-akhsarīn

وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَا لِلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧١

MunirMezyed2023

And We saved him and Lot, (leading them) to the land which We have blessed for all beings.

wanajjaynāhu walūṭan ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā lil'ʿālamīn

وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةࣰۖ وَكُلࣰّا جَعَلۡنَا صَـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٢

MunirMezyed2023

And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob as an extra gift. And We made them all righteous.

wawahabnā lahu is'ḥāqa wayaʿqūba nāfilatan wakullan jaʿalnā ṣāliḥīn

وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ یَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا وَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡ فِعۡلَ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِیتَاۤءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٧٣

MunirMezyed2023

And We made them (spiritual) leaders showing the people the right path to salvation by Our Command. And We revealed to them to strive to do righteous acts, to establish the regular Prayer and pay Zakāt. And they were devoted worshipers of Us (alone).

wajaʿalnāhum a-immatan yahdūna bi-amrinā wa-awḥaynā ilayhim fiʿ'la l-khayrāti wa-iqāma l-ṣalati waītāa l-zakati wakānū lanā ʿābidīn

وَلُوطًا ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰا وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَرۡیَةِ ٱلَّتِی كَانَت تَّعۡمَلُ ٱلۡخَبَـٰۤىِٕثَۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٧٤

MunirMezyed2023

And to Lot, We gave him the authority of moral judgments and (spiritual) knowledge. And We delivered him from the town (whose inhabitants) were given to debauchery. Verily they were a people given to evil, indulging in personal disobedience extensively without repentance.

walūṭan ātaynāhu ḥuk'man waʿil'man wanajjaynāhu mina l-qaryati allatī kānat taʿmalu l-khabāitha innahum kānū qawma sawin fāsiqīn

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٥

MunirMezyed2023

And We admitted him into Our Mercy, most certainly he was of the righteous.

wa-adkhalnāhu fī raḥmatinā innahu mina l-ṣāliḥīn

6 Righteous will inherit land

وَنُوحًا إِذۡ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٧٦

MunirMezyed2023

And (mention) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime, We answered him and delivered him and his family from the great distress.

wanūḥan idh nādā min qablu fa-is'tajabnā lahu fanajjaynāhu wa-ahlahu mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm

وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَاۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٧٧

MunirMezyed2023

And We helped him against a people who persistently refuse to acknowledge Our Signs. Verily, they were a people given to evil, so We drowned them, all together.

wanaṣarnāhu mina l-qawmi alladhīna kadhabū biāyātinā innahum kānū qawma sawin fa-aghraqnāhum ajmaʿīn

وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ إِذۡ یَحۡكُمَانِ فِی ٱلۡحَرۡثِ إِذۡ نَفَشَتۡ فِیهِ غَنَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكۡمِهِمۡ شَـٰهِدِینَ ۝٧٨

MunirMezyed2023

And (mention) David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field in which the sheep of certain people had strayed and browsed therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment.

wadāwūda wasulaymāna idh yaḥkumāni fī l-ḥarthi idh nafashat fīhi ghanamu l-qawmi wakunnā liḥuk'mihim shāhidīn

فَفَهَّمۡنَـٰهَا سُلَیۡمَـٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَیۡنَا حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ یُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّیۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧٩

MunirMezyed2023

And We made Solomon understand the case more clearly. And to each of them, We gave the authority of moral judgments and (spiritual) knowledge. And We subjected the mountains and the birds to celebrate Our praise and declare Our glory along with David. It was We who did all this.

fafahhamnāhā sulaymāna wakullan ātaynā ḥuk'man waʿil'man wasakharnā maʿa dāwūda l-jibāla yusabbiḥ'na wal-ṭayra wakunnā fāʿilīn

وَعَلَّمۡنَـٰهُ صَنۡعَةَ لَبُوسࣲ لَّكُمۡ لِتُحۡصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأۡسِكُمۡۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُمۡ شَـٰكِرُونَ ۝٨٠

MunirMezyed2023

And We taught him the art of making coats of mail to fortify you from the violence of war. Will you, then, show gratitude?

waʿallamnāhu ṣanʿata labūsin lakum lituḥ'ṣinakum min basikum fahal antum shākirūn

وَلِسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّیحَ عَاصِفَةࣰ تَجۡرِی بِأَمۡرِهِۦۤ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَاۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨١

MunirMezyed2023

And We had subdued to Solomon the strongly blowing wind which ran at his command to carry him to the land which We had blessed (with many good things). And We have full knowledge of everything.

walisulaymāna l-rīḥa ʿāṣifatan tajrī bi-amrihi ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā wakunnā bikulli shayin ʿālimīn

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ مَن یَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَیَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلࣰا دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَـٰفِظِینَ ۝٨٢

MunirMezyed2023

And of the jinn and devils, We assigned to him some who dived (into the sea to extract precious stones) for him and obediently performed other tasks besides that. And We were watchful over them.

wamina l-shayāṭīni man yaghūṣūna lahu wayaʿmalūna ʿamalan dūna dhālika wakunnā lahum ḥāfiẓīn

۞ وَأَیُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥۤ أَنِّی مَسَّنِیَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝٨٣

MunirMezyed2023

And (mention) Job when he called upon his Lord: "Most certainly, affliction of evil has touched me and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

wa-ayyūba idh nādā rabbahu annī massaniya l-ḍuru wa-anta arḥamu l-rāḥimīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرࣲّۖ وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٨٤

MunirMezyed2023

So We answered his prayer and removed his affliction. And we restored his family for him and the like thereof along with them, as a Mercy from Our Own Selves and a reminder to those who worship ( Allah in the way He wants us to worship Him).

fa-is'tajabnā lahu fakashafnā mā bihi min ḍurrin waātaynāhu ahlahu wamith'lahum maʿahum raḥmatan min ʿindinā wadhik'rā lil'ʿābidīn

وَإِسۡمَـٰعِیلَ وَإِدۡرِیسَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ كُلࣱّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝٨٥

MunirMezyed2023

And (mention) Ishmael, Idrīs (Enoch) and Dhū’l-Kifl- all were of those who cling to patience (in adversity).

wa-is'māʿīla wa-id'rīsa wadhā l-kif'li kullun mina l-ṣābirīn

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٨٦

MunirMezyed2023

And We admitted them into Our Mercy, for they were truly righteous.

wa-adkhalnāhum fī raḥmatinā innahum mina l-ṣāliḥīn

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبࣰا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَیۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِی ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنتَ سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّی كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨٧

MunirMezyed2023

And (mention) Dhū’l-Nūn (Jonah) when he went off in rage, thinking that We had no power over him. But he called out in the darkness: “There is no other God beside You. Glory Be To You! I was indeed of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims”.

wadhā l-nūni idh dhahaba mughāḍiban faẓanna an lan naqdira ʿalayhi fanādā fī l-ẓulumāti an lā ilāha illā anta sub'ḥānaka innī kuntu mina l-ẓālimīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نُۨجِی ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨٨

MunirMezyed2023

So We responded to him and delivered him from the anguish. And this is how We deliver those who live a life of Genuine Faith.

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wanajjaynāhu mina l-ghami wakadhālika nunjī l-mu'minīn

وَزَكَرِیَّاۤ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِی فَرۡدࣰا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ۝٨٩

And (mention) Zachariah, when he called upon his Lord: "O’ my Lord, don’t leave me alone (without an heir), and indeed You are the Best of the inheritors".

wazakariyyā idh nādā rabbahu rabbi lā tadharnī fardan wa-anta khayru l-wārithīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ یَحۡیَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَیَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبࣰا وَرَهَبࣰاۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِینَ ۝٩٠

MunirMezyed2023

So We responded to him and bestowed upon him John, and restored the fertility of his wife for him. Indeed, they used to hasten towards all that is good, to call upon Us with hope and reverence, and to humble themselves before Us.

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wawahabnā lahu yaḥyā wa-aṣlaḥnā lahu zawjahu innahum kānū yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wayadʿūnanā raghaban warahaban wakānū lanā khāshiʿīn

وَٱلَّتِیۤ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِیهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَاۤ ءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٩١

MunirMezyed2023

And (remember) her who guarded her virginity. We breathed into her out of Our Spirit and made her and her son a Sign (of Our power and glory) for all the beings.

wa-allatī aḥṣanat farjahā fanafakhnā fīhā min rūḥinā wajaʿalnāhā wa-ib'nahā āyatan lil'ʿālamīn

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٩٢

MunirMezyed2023

Truly this, your Ummah, is one Ummah, and I am your Lord. Now, therefore, worship Me (in the way I want you to worship Me).

inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-uʿ'budūn

وَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَیۡنَا رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٩٣

However, they disagreed and split up into different sects: but to Us they will all return.

wataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum kullun ilaynā rājiʿūn

7 Allah always delivers Prophets

فَمَن یَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنࣱ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡیِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَـٰتِبُونَ ۝٩٤

MunirMezyed2023

Then Whoever strives to do acts of righteousness while he is a Monotheist- (having a deep, pure, focused Faith in Allâh)- there will be no denial for his effort: and We will indeed record it in his favour.

faman yaʿmal mina l-ṣāliḥāti wahuwa mu'minun falā kuf'rāna lisaʿyihi wa-innā lahu kātibūn

وَحَرَ ٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٩٥

MunirMezyed2023

It is utterly impossible for (the inhabitants of) a town which We have destroyed to ever rise again (or return to this worldly life).

waḥarāmun ʿalā qaryatin ahlaknāhā annahum lā yarjiʿūn

حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ یَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبࣲ یَنسِلُونَ ۝٩٦

Even when Gog and Magog are let loose and they hasten forth from every height.

ḥattā idhā futiḥat yajūju wamajūju wahum min kulli ḥadabin yansilūn

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِیَ شَـٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَـٰرُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٧

MunirMezyed2023

And the true promise - (Judgment Day)- is coming closer. Then all of a sudden the eyes of those who live in spiritual darkness are fixedly staring in horror, (yelling): "Ah! Woe betide us! We were certainly wholly inattentive to this. In fact, we have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of our own whims.

wa-iq'taraba l-waʿdu l-ḥaqu fa-idhā hiya shākhiṣatun abṣāru alladhīna kafarū yāwaylanā qad kunnā fī ghaflatin min hādhā bal kunnā ẓālimīn

إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَ ٰرِدُونَ ۝٩٨

Surely, you and whatever you worship other than Allâh are but firewood for Gehenna. Therein shall they enter.

innakum wamā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi ḥaṣabu jahannama antum lahā wāridūn

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ءَالِهَةࣰ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلࣱّ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٩٩

MunirMezyed2023

If those (idols) had truly been gods, then they would not have been compelled to enter into It (Gehenna). And they will all live therein forever.

law kāna hāulāi ālihatan mā waradūhā wakullun fīhā khālidūn

لَهُمۡ فِیهَا زَفِیرࣱ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ ۝١٠٠

For them therein shall be whining and therein shall they hear nothing.

lahum fīhā zafīrun wahum fīhā lā yasmaʿūn

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۤ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ ۝١٠١

MunirMezyed2023

Verily those for whom the promise of best reward has preceded from Us, they will be kept far away from It- (Gehenna).

inna alladhīna sabaqat lahum minnā l-ḥus'nā ulāika ʿanhā mub'ʿadūn

لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ حَسِیسَهَاۖ وَهُمۡ فِی مَا ٱشۡتَهَتۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٢

MunirMezyed2023

And they won’t hear Its sizzling thereof, and will abide in that which their souls desire.

lā yasmaʿūna ḥasīsahā wahum fī mā ish'tahat anfusuhum khālidūn

لَا یَحۡزُنُهُمُ ٱلۡفَزَعُ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٣

MunirMezyed2023

The greatest terror won’t grieve them, and the Angels will receive them (saying): "This is your day which you were promised."

lā yaḥzunuhumu l-fazaʿu l-akbaru watatalaqqāhumu l-malāikatu hādhā yawmukumu alladhī kuntum tūʿadūn

یَوۡمَ نَطۡوِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ كَطَیِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَاۤ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقࣲ نُّعِیدُهُۥۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَیۡنَاۤۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٠٤

MunirMezyed2023

On that day, We shall roll up the sky like the rolling up of the written scrolls. Just as We were able to create people the first time, We will bring them back to life. (It is) a promise (binding) upon Us. For We always keep Our promises.

yawma naṭwī l-samāa kaṭayyi l-sijili lil'kutubi kamā badanā awwala khalqin nuʿīduhu waʿdan ʿalaynā innā kunnā fāʿilīn

وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِی ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ یَرِثُهَا عِبَادِیَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٥

MunirMezyed2023

And verity We have written in the Psalms after the Reminder: My righteous worshipers will inherit the earth.

walaqad katabnā fī l-zabūri min baʿdi l-dhik'ri anna l-arḍa yarithuhā ʿibādiya l-ṣāliḥūn

إِنَّ فِی هَـٰذَا لَبَلَـٰغࣰا لِّقَوۡمٍ عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝١٠٦

MunirMezyed2023

Most certainly there is in this- (Qur’ān)- a proclamation for a people who worship (Allah in the way He wants them to worship Him).

inna fī hādhā labalāghan liqawmin ʿābidīn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٠٧

MunirMezyed2023

And We have sent you for no other reason but to be a source of Mercy for the all beings.

wamā arsalnāka illā raḥmatan lil'ʿālamīn

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ أَنَّمَاۤ إِلَـٰهُكُمۡ إِلَـٰهࣱ وَ ٰحِدࣱۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ ۝١٠٨

MunirMezyed2023

Say: ‘It is revealed to me that your God is only one True God - (Allâh). Will you then hasten to embrace Islam?

qul innamā yūḥā ilayya annamā ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun fahal antum mus'limūn

فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡا۟ فَقُلۡ ءَاذَنتُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَاۤءࣲۖ وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِیۤ أَقَرِیبٌ أَم بَعِیدࣱ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٩

MunirMezyed2023

But if it happens that they fall away (from the Faith), then say unto them: “I have faithfully conveyed to you (the messages of my Lord). Both you and I equally know of what I have warned you against, and I don’t know whether that which you are promised is near or far.

fa-in tawallaw faqul ādhantukum ʿalā sawāin wa-in adrī aqarībun am baʿīdun mā tūʿadūn

إِنَّهُۥ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡتُمُونَ ۝١١٠

MunirMezyed2023

And He has full knowledge of whatever you say openly and whatever you hide (in your hearts).

innahu yaʿlamu l-jahra mina l-qawli wayaʿlamu mā taktumūn

وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِی لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةࣱ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١١١

MunirMezyed2023

I don’t know if this may be a trial for you or an enjoyment for a while.

wa-in adrī laʿallahu fit'natun lakum wamatāʿun ilā ḥīni

قَـٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ ۝١١٢

MunirMezyed2023

He said: "O’ my Lord, Judge (between us) with truth. Lo! Our Lord is the True Merciful (God) Whose help is ever to be sought against all that you falsely ascribe (to Him)."

qāla rabbi uḥ'kum bil-ḥaqi warabbunā l-raḥmānu l-mus'taʿānu ʿalā mā taṣifūn
