1 Judgment approaches

۞ ٱقۡتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝١

M. Farook Malik

The Day of Accountability for mankind is getting closer and closer, yet they are heedless and are turning away from the admonition

iq'taraba lilnnāsi ḥisābuhum wahum fī ghaflatin muʿ'riḍūn

مَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن ذِكۡرࣲ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسۡتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمۡ یَلۡعَبُونَ ۝٢

M. Farook Malik

They listen with ridicule to each fresh warning that comes to them from their Lord and remain engaged in the sports

mā yatīhim min dhik'rin min rabbihim muḥ'dathin illā is'tamaʿūhu wahum yalʿabūn

لَاهِیَةࣰ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجۡوَى ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖ أَفَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَأَنتُمۡ تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣

M. Farook Malik

Their hearts are preoccupied with worldly affairs; these wrongdoers say to each other in private: "Is this man (Muhammad) not a human being like yourselves? Would you follow witchcraft with your eyes open?"

lāhiyatan qulūbuhum wa-asarrū l-najwā alladhīna ẓalamū hal hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum afatatūna l-siḥ'ra wa-antum tub'ṣirūn

قَالَ رَبِّی یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِیعُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٤

M. Farook Malik

Tell them: "My Lord has knowledge of every word which is spoken in the heavens and the earth, and He hears all and knows all."

qāla rabbī yaʿlamu l-qawla fī l-samāi wal-arḍi wahuwa l-samīʿu l-ʿalīm

بَلۡ قَالُوۤا۟ أَضۡغَـٰثُ أَحۡلَـٰمِۭ بَلِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ بَلۡ هُوَ شَاعِرࣱ فَلۡیَأۡتِنَا بِءَایَةࣲ كَمَاۤ أُرۡسِلَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝٥

M. Farook Malik

Rather, some of them say, "this Qur’an is jumble of dreams!" Others say: "He has made it all up!" And yet others say: "He is a poet!" Let him bring to us a sign as did the former Messengers."

bal qālū aḍghāthu aḥlāmin bali if'tarāhu bal huwa shāʿirun falyatinā biāyatin kamā ur'sila l-awalūn

مَاۤ ءَامَنَتۡ قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤۖ أَفَهُمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٦

M. Farook Malik

The fact, however, is that even though We showed Signs to the prior people, not a single nation before them, which We destroyed, ever believed. Will they believe

mā āmanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknāhā afahum yu'minūn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا نُّوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡءَلُوۤا۟ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٧

M. Farook Malik

The Messengers which We sent before you, O Muhammad, were also human to whom We sent revelation. If you, O objectors, do not know this, then ask the people of the reminder (Jews and Christians)

wamā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nūḥī ilayhim fasalū ahla l-dhik'ri in kuntum lā taʿlamūn

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ جَسَدࣰا لَّا یَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰلِدِینَ ۝٨

M. Farook Malik

We did not give them bodies which could survive without food, nor were they immortal

wamā jaʿalnāhum jasadan lā yakulūna l-ṭaʿāma wamā kānū khālidīn

ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَاۤءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِینَ ۝٩

M. Farook Malik

Then We fulfilled Our promise with them: We saved them and those whom We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors

thumma ṣadaqnāhumu l-waʿda fa-anjaynāhum waman nashāu wa-ahlaknā l-mus'rifīn

لَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فِیهِ ذِكۡرُكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٠

M. Farook Malik

Now, O People, We have sent down to you a Book (The Qur’an) which deals with matters concerning yourselves; why don’t you understand

laqad anzalnā ilaykum kitāban fīhi dhik'rukum afalā taʿqilūn

2 Truth triumphed always

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةࣲ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةࣰ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝١١

M. Farook Malik

How many nations We have destroyed because of their iniquities and replaced them by other nations

wakam qaṣamnā min qaryatin kānat ẓālimatan wa-anshanā baʿdahā qawman ākharīn

فَلَمَّاۤ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأۡسَنَاۤ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا یَرۡكُضُونَ ۝١٢

M. Farook Malik

When they felt that Our punishment was coming, they took to their heels and fled

falammā aḥassū basanā idhā hum min'hā yarkuḍūn

لَا تَرۡكُضُوا۟ وَٱرۡجِعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَاۤ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِیهِ وَمَسَـٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡءَلُونَ ۝١٣

M. Farook Malik

They were told: "Do not run away. Return to your luxuries of life and to your homes, so that you may be asked questions."

lā tarkuḍū wa-ir'jiʿū ilā mā ut'rif'tum fīhi wamasākinikum laʿallakum tus'alūn

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٤

M. Farook Malik

They replied: "Woe to us! Indeed we were wrongdoers."

qālū yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلۡكَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ حَصِیدًا خَـٰمِدِینَ ۝١٥

M. Farook Malik

They kept on repeating that statement till We mowed them down, leaving no spark of life in them

famā zālat til'ka daʿwāhum ḥattā jaʿalnāhum ḥaṣīdan khāmidīn

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِینَ ۝١٦

M. Farook Malik

Our creation of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them is not a game

wamā khalaqnā l-samāa wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā lāʿibīn

لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَاۤ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوࣰا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّاۤ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٧

M. Farook Malik

Had We meant to make it a play ground, We would have done it by Ourself, without giving you discretion to do right and wrong, had We ever done so

law aradnā an nattakhidha lahwan la-ittakhadhnāhu min ladunnā in kunnā fāʿilīn

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ فَیَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقࣱۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَیۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ۝١٨

M. Farook Malik

Nay! We give falsehood a violent blow with the Truth to knock it out and behold! Falsehood vanishes away. Woe be to you, for all the false gods you have invented

bal naqdhifu bil-ḥaqi ʿalā l-bāṭili fayadmaghuhu fa-idhā huwa zāhiqun walakumu l-waylu mimmā taṣifūn

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا یَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ ۝١٩

M. Farook Malik

To Him belongs all that exists in the heavens and in the earth; and the angels, who are in His very presence, are not too proud to serve Him, nor do they feel wearied of His service

walahu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi waman ʿindahu lā yastakbirūna ʿan ʿibādatihi walā yastaḥsirūn

یُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا یَفۡتُرُونَ ۝٢٠

M. Farook Malik

They glorify Him night and day; and do not pause

yusabbiḥūna al-layla wal-nahāra lā yafturūn

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هُمۡ یُنشِرُونَ ۝٢١

M. Farook Malik

Have the earthly deities, that they have taken for worship, the power to raise the dead

ami ittakhadhū ālihatan mina l-arḍi hum yunshirūn

لَوۡ كَانَ فِیهِمَاۤ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَاۚ فَسُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٢٢

M. Farook Malik

If there were other gods in the heavens or in the earth besides Allah, both the heavens and earth would have been in a state of disorder. Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Throne, absolutely free is He from the falsehood that they attribute to Him

law kāna fīhimā ālihatun illā l-lahu lafasadatā fasub'ḥāna l-lahi rabbi l-ʿarshi ʿammā yaṣifūn

لَا یُسۡءَلُ عَمَّا یَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ یُسۡءَلُونَ ۝٢٣

M. Farook Malik

He is accountable to none about what He does, but they are accountable to Him

lā yus'alu ʿammā yafʿalu wahum yus'alūn

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ ءَالِهَةࣰۖ قُلۡ هَاتُوا۟ بُرۡهَـٰنَكُمۡۖ هَـٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِیَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِیۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٢٤

M. Farook Malik

Even then, have they taken other deities for worship besides Him? Ask them: "Show us your proof: here is this reminder (Al-Qur’an) for the people of my time and it also contains the reminder of those before me." But most of them have no knowledge of Reality, and that is why they have turned away

ami ittakhadhū min dūnihi ālihatan qul hātū bur'hānakum hādhā dhik'ru man maʿiya wadhik'ru man qablī bal aktharuhum lā yaʿlamūna l-ḥaqa fahum muʿ'riḍūn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٢٥

M. Farook Malik

The fact is that to every Messenger whom We sent before you, We revealed the same Message: "There is no god but Me, so worship Me Alone."

wamā arsalnā min qablika min rasūlin illā nūḥī ilayhi annahu lā ilāha illā anā fa-uʿ'budūn

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ وَلَدࣰاۗ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥۚ بَلۡ عِبَادࣱ مُّكۡرَمُونَ ۝٢٦

M. Farook Malik

In spite of receiving that message, they still say: "The Beneficent (Allah) has offspring!" Glory be to Him! The angels are but His honored servants

waqālū ittakhadha l-raḥmānu waladan sub'ḥānahu bal ʿibādun muk'ramūn

لَا یَسۡبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَهُم بِأَمۡرِهِۦ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٧

M. Farook Malik

They do not precede Him in speaking and they act according to His commandment

lā yasbiqūnahu bil-qawli wahum bi-amrihi yaʿmalūn

یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا یَشۡفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَتِهِۦ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٢٨

M. Farook Malik

He knows what is before them and what is behind them and they do not intercede except for the one whom He approves, and for fear of Him they tremble

yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wamā khalfahum walā yashfaʿūna illā limani ir'taḍā wahum min khashyatihi mush'fiqūn

۞ وَمَن یَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّیۤ إِلَـٰهࣱ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِیهِ جَهَنَّمَۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٩

M. Farook Malik

If any of them were to say: "I am also a deity besides Him," We would send him to hell, thus shall We reward the wrongdoers

waman yaqul min'hum innī ilāhun min dūnihi fadhālika najzīhi jahannama kadhālika najzī l-ẓālimīn

3 Truth of Revelation

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ كَانَتَا رَتۡقࣰا فَفَتَقۡنَـٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَاۤءِ كُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّۚ أَفَلَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٣٠

M. Farook Malik

Have not the unbelievers ever considered that the skies and the earth were once one mass, then We split them asunder? And We have created every living thing from water. Will they still not believe

awalam yara alladhīna kafarū anna l-samāwāti wal-arḍa kānatā ratqan fafataqnāhumā wajaʿalnā mina l-māi kulla shayin ḥayyin afalā yu'minūn

وَجَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَ ٰسِیَ أَن تَمِیدَ بِهِمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیهَا فِجَاجࣰا سُبُلࣰا لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٣١

M. Farook Malik

And We have planted mountains on earth lest it should tilt to one side with them (the weight of people) and We left between them open passages so that they may find the right direction

wajaʿalnā fī l-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim wajaʿalnā fīhā fijājan subulan laʿallahum yahtadūn

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ سَقۡفࣰا مَّحۡفُوظࣰاۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣٢

M. Farook Malik

And We have made the sky a safe canopy: yet they are heedless to these signs

wajaʿalnā l-samāa saqfan maḥfūẓan wahum ʿan āyātihā muʿ'riḍūn

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ فِی فَلَكࣲ یَسۡبَحُونَ ۝٣٣

M. Farook Malik

He is the One Who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) move swiftly in an orbit of their own

wahuwa alladhī khalaqa al-layla wal-nahāra wal-shamsa wal-qamara kullun fī falakin yasbaḥūn

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِی۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٣٤

M. Farook Malik

O Muhammad, We have not granted immortality to any human before you: so if you are to die, will these unbelievers live forever

wamā jaʿalnā libasharin min qablika l-khul'da afa-in mitta fahumu l-khālidūn

كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَیۡرِ فِتۡنَةࣰۖ وَإِلَیۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٥

M. Farook Malik

Every soul is bound to have the taste of death. We are putting all of you to a test by passing you through bad and good conditions, and finally you shall return to Us

kullu nafsin dhāiqatu l-mawti wanablūkum bil-shari wal-khayri fit'natan wa-ilaynā tur'jaʿūn

وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِن یَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَذۡكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ هُمۡ كَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٣٦

M. Farook Malik

When the unbelievers see you they do not take you but for one to be scoffed at, saying: "Is this the one who talks against your gods?" And they themselves deny the mention of the Compassionate (Allah)

wa-idhā raāka alladhīna kafarū in yattakhidhūnaka illā huzuwan ahādhā alladhī yadhkuru ālihatakum wahum bidhik'ri l-raḥmāni hum kāfirūn

خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِنۡ عَجَلࣲۚ سَأُو۟رِیكُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِی فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ ۝٣٧

M. Farook Malik

Man is a creature of haste (impatience). Soon I will show you My signs, therefore, you need not be impatient

khuliqa l-insānu min ʿajalin sa-urīkum āyātī falā tastaʿjilūn

وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٣٨

M. Farook Malik

They ask: "When will this promise be fulfilled if you are telling the truth?"

wayaqūlūna matā hādhā l-waʿdu in kuntum ṣādiqīn

لَوۡ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِینَ لَا یَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یُنصَرُونَ ۝٣٩

M. Farook Malik

They would not have asked this question if only the unbelievers knew the Day when they will be able to protect neither their faces from the fire of hell nor their backs, nor will they be helped

law yaʿlamu alladhīna kafarū ḥīna lā yakuffūna ʿan wujūhihimu l-nāra walā ʿan ẓuhūrihim walā hum yunṣarūn

بَلۡ تَأۡتِیهِم بَغۡتَةࣰ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ یُنظَرُونَ ۝٤٠

M. Farook Malik

Nay, it will come to them all of a sudden and overpower them so abruptly that they shall neither be able to avert it nor shall they get any respite

bal tatīhim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falā yastaṭīʿūna raddahā walā hum yunẓarūn

وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِینَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٤١

M. Farook Malik

As for their scoffing, the Messengers before you were also scoffed at; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the very thing at which they used to scoff

walaqadi us'tuh'zi-a birusulin min qablika faḥāqa bi-alladhīna sakhirū min'hum mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

4 Allah deals Mercifully

قُلۡ مَن یَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٤٢

M. Farook Malik

Ask them, "Who is there to protect you by night and by day from the wrath of the Compassionate?" Yet they turn away from the admonition of their Lord

qul man yakla-ukum bi-al-layli wal-nahāri mina l-raḥmāni bal hum ʿan dhik'ri rabbihim muʿ'riḍūn

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةࣱ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا یُصۡحَبُونَ ۝٤٣

M. Farook Malik

Do they have such gods who can defend them against Us? Their gods can neither help themselves nor can they protect themselves from Us

am lahum ālihatun tamnaʿuhum min dūninā lā yastaṭīʿūna naṣra anfusihim walā hum minnā yuṣ'ḥabūn

بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ وَءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا یَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِی ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَاۤۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝٤٤

M. Farook Malik

The fact is that We gave the good things of this life to them and their forefathers until they got used to these things because of their prolonged lives; can they not see how We gradually reduce the land which was in their control and curtail it from all sides? Do they still expect to be victorious against Us

bal mattaʿnā hāulāi waābāahum ḥattā ṭāla ʿalayhimu l-ʿumuru afalā yarawna annā natī l-arḍa nanquṣuhā min aṭrāfihā afahumu l-ghālibūn

قُلۡ إِنَّمَاۤ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡیِۚ وَلَا یَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَاۤءَ إِذَا مَا یُنذَرُونَ ۝٤٥

M. Farook Malik

Tell them, "I am warning you on the authority of Revelation," but the deaf choose not to listen the call when they are warned

qul innamā undhirukum bil-waḥyi walā yasmaʿu l-ṣumu l-duʿāa idhā mā yundharūn

وَلَىِٕن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةࣱ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَیَقُولُنَّ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤٦

M. Farook Malik

Yet even if a breath from the Wrath of your Lord was to touch them, they will certainly say, "Woe to us! No doubt we were wrongdoers."

wala-in massathum nafḥatun min ʿadhābi rabbika layaqūlunna yāwaylanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn

وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَ ٰزِینَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِیَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسࣱ شَیۡءࣰاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةࣲ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَیۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَـٰسِبِینَ ۝٤٧

M. Farook Malik

On the Day of Judgement We shall set up scales of justice so that no one will be dealt with unjustly in any way; even if someone has an act as small as a grain of a mustard seed, We will bring it to account, and sufficient are We to settle the accounts

wanaḍaʿu l-mawāzīna l-qis'ṭa liyawmi l-qiyāmati falā tuẓ'lamu nafsun shayan wa-in kāna mith'qāla ḥabbatin min khardalin ataynā bihā wakafā binā ḥāsibīn

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِیَاۤءࣰ وَذِكۡرࣰا لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٤٨

M. Farook Malik

Certainly, We granted to Moses and Haroon (Aaron) the Criterion of right and wrong, a light and a reminder for those righteous peopl

walaqad ātaynā mūsā wahārūna l-fur'qāna waḍiyāan wadhik'ran lil'muttaqīn

ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ ۝٤٩

M. Farook Malik

who fear their Lord though they have not seen Him, and dread the Day of Judgment

alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wahum mina l-sāʿati mush'fiqūn

وَهَـٰذَا ذِكۡرࣱ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٥٠

M. Farook Malik

And now We have revealed this blessed Reminder (The Qur’an). Will you then deny it

wahādhā dhik'run mubārakun anzalnāhu afa-antum lahu munkirūn

5 Abraham — Allah always delivers Prophets

۞ وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَاۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ رُشۡدَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥١

M. Farook Malik

Even before that We blessed Abraham with rectitude, for We knew him well

walaqad ātaynā ib'rāhīma rush'dahu min qablu wakunnā bihi ʿālimīn

إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِیهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِیلُ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا عَـٰكِفُونَ ۝٥٢

M. Farook Malik

Remember that occasion when Abraham asked his father and his people, "What are these images to which you are so devoted?"

idh qāla li-abīhi waqawmihi mā hādhihi l-tamāthīlu allatī antum lahā ʿākifūn

قَالُوا۟ وَجَدۡنَاۤ ءَابَاۤءَنَا لَهَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٥٣

M. Farook Malik

They replied, "We found our forefathers worshipping them."

qālū wajadnā ābāanā lahā ʿābidīn

قَالَ لَقَدۡ كُنتُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُمۡ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٥٤

M. Farook Malik

He said "Then certainly both you and your forefathers have been in manifest error."

qāla laqad kuntum antum waābāukum fī ḍalālin mubīni

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ أَمۡ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِینَ ۝٥٥

M. Farook Malik

They asked, "Have you brought us the Truth or are you one of the triflers?"

qālū aji'tanā bil-ḥaqi am anta mina l-lāʿibīn

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّذِی فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَ ٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِینَ ۝٥٦

M. Farook Malik

He replied, "Nay! Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. It is He Who has created them; and I am of those who bear witness to this

qāla bal rabbukum rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi alladhī faṭarahunna wa-anā ʿalā dhālikum mina l-shāhidīn

وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِیدَنَّ أَصۡنَـٰمَكُم بَعۡدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٥٧

M. Farook Malik

By Allah! I will certainly plan against your idols when you turn and go away."

watal-lahi la-akīdanna aṣnāmakum baʿda an tuwallū mud'birīn

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَ ٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِیرࣰا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٥٨

M. Farook Malik

So he broke them all in pieces, except the biggest of them, so that they might turn to it

fajaʿalahum judhādhan illā kabīran lahum laʿallahum ilayhi yarjiʿūn

قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَاۤ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥٩

M. Farook Malik

(On their return when they saw the plight of their idols), some asked, "Who has done this to our gods? He must surely be a wicked person!"

qālū man faʿala hādhā biālihatinā innahu lamina l-ẓālimīn

قَالُوا۟ سَمِعۡنَا فَتࣰى یَذۡكُرُهُمۡ یُقَالُ لَهُۥۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٠

M. Farook Malik

Others replied, "We heard a youth, called Abraham, talking about them."

qālū samiʿ'nā fatan yadhkuruhum yuqālu lahu ib'rāhīm

قَالُوا۟ فَأۡتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰۤ أَعۡیُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَشۡهَدُونَ ۝٦١

M. Farook Malik

They said, "Then bring him here before the eyes of the people, so that they may witness how severely he is punished."

qālū fatū bihi ʿalā aʿyuni l-nāsi laʿallahum yashhadūn

قَالُوۤا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلۡتَ هَـٰذَا بِءَالِهَتِنَا یَـٰۤإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝٦٢

M. Farook Malik

When Abraham came, they asked, "O Abraham, are you the one who has done this to our gods?"

qālū a-anta faʿalta hādhā biālihatinā yāib'rāhīm

قَالَ بَلۡ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِیرُهُمۡ هَـٰذَا فَسۡءَلُوهُمۡ إِن كَانُوا۟ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٣

M. Farook Malik

He replied, "Surely someone has done it; the chief of them, that is! Ask them, if they can speak!"

qāla bal faʿalahu kabīruhum hādhā fasalūhum in kānū yanṭiqūn

فَرَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۝٦٤

M. Farook Malik

Thereupon they turned to search their own consciences, and said to themselves, "Surely you yourselves are the wrongdoers!"

farajaʿū ilā anfusihim faqālū innakum antumu l-ẓālimūn

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَ مَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ یَنطِقُونَ ۝٦٥

M. Farook Malik

Confounded as they were, lowering their heads they said, "You know fully well that they cannot speak."

thumma nukisū ʿalā ruūsihim laqad ʿalim'ta mā hāulāi yanṭiqūn

قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا یَنفَعُكُمۡ شَیۡءࣰا وَلَا یَضُرُّكُمۡ ۝٦٦

M. Farook Malik

At this Abraham said, "Do you then worship these deities, instead of Allah, who can neither benefit nor harm you

qāla afataʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi mā lā yanfaʿukum shayan walā yaḍurruku

أُفࣲّ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٦٧

M. Farook Malik

Shame on you and on those deities you worship besides Allah! Have you no sense at all?"

uffin lakum walimā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi afalā taʿqilūn

قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٦٨

M. Farook Malik

They cried, "Burn him alive and avenge your gods, if you want to take any action."

qālū ḥarriqūhu wa-unṣurū ālihatakum in kuntum fāʿilīn

قُلۡنَا یَـٰنَارُ كُونِی بَرۡدࣰا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٦٩

M. Farook Malik

When they threw him in the fire, We commanded, "O fire! Be cool and comfortable for Abraham."

qul'nā yānāru kūnī bardan wasalāman ʿalā ib'rāhīm

وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَیۡدࣰا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِینَ ۝٧٠

M. Farook Malik

They sought to harm him, but We made them the big losers

wa-arādū bihi kaydan fajaʿalnāhumu l-akhsarīn

وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَا لِلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧١

M. Farook Malik

We delivered him and his nephew Lot and directed them to the land which We have blessed for all the people of the world

wanajjaynāhu walūṭan ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā lil'ʿālamīn

وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةࣰۖ وَكُلࣰّا جَعَلۡنَا صَـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٢

M. Farook Malik

We gave him a son Isaac and then a grandson Jacob; and We made each of them a righteous man

wawahabnā lahu is'ḥāqa wayaʿqūba nāfilatan wakullan jaʿalnā ṣāliḥīn

وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ یَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا وَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡ فِعۡلَ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِیتَاۤءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٧٣

M. Farook Malik

We made them leaders who guided other people by Our command and We sent them revelations to do good deeds, establish Salah and pay Zakah. To Us Alone did they serve

wajaʿalnāhum a-immatan yahdūna bi-amrinā wa-awḥaynā ilayhim fiʿ'la l-khayrāti wa-iqāma l-ṣalati waītāa l-zakati wakānū lanā ʿābidīn

وَلُوطًا ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰا وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَرۡیَةِ ٱلَّتِی كَانَت تَّعۡمَلُ ٱلۡخَبَـٰۤىِٕثَۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٧٤

M. Farook Malik

To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town which practiced abominations - surely its inhabitants were very wicked transgressor

walūṭan ātaynāhu ḥuk'man waʿil'man wanajjaynāhu mina l-qaryati allatī kānat taʿmalu l-khabāitha innahum kānū qawma sawin fāsiqīn

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٧٥

M. Farook Malik

- and We admitted him to Our mercy: for he was of the righteous people

wa-adkhalnāhu fī raḥmatinā innahu mina l-ṣāliḥīn

6 Righteous will inherit land

وَنُوحًا إِذۡ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٧٦

M. Farook Malik

Before them Noah prayed to Us, We accepted his prayer and delivered him and his family from the great calamity

wanūḥan idh nādā min qablu fa-is'tajabnā lahu fanajjaynāhu wa-ahlahu mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm

وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَاۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءࣲ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٧٧

M. Farook Malik

We helped him against those people who had denied Our revelations; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all in the Great Flood

wanaṣarnāhu mina l-qawmi alladhīna kadhabū biāyātinā innahum kānū qawma sawin fa-aghraqnāhum ajmaʿīn

وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ إِذۡ یَحۡكُمَانِ فِی ٱلۡحَرۡثِ إِذۡ نَفَشَتۡ فِیهِ غَنَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكۡمِهِمۡ شَـٰهِدِینَ ۝٧٨

M. Farook Malik

We also bestowed favors upon Davidand Solomon: when the two were judging a case regarding the field into which the sheep of certain people had strayed by night, and We were watching them to arrive at judgment

wadāwūda wasulaymāna idh yaḥkumāni fī l-ḥarthi idh nafashat fīhi ghanamu l-qawmi wakunnā liḥuk'mihim shāhidīn

فَفَهَّمۡنَـٰهَا سُلَیۡمَـٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَیۡنَا حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ یُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّیۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧٩

M. Farook Malik

at that time We gave Solomon insight to arrive at the right decision, although We had given wisdom and knowledge to both of them. We caused the mountains and the birds to celebrate Our praises with David; it was We Who made this happen

fafahhamnāhā sulaymāna wakullan ātaynā ḥuk'man waʿil'man wasakharnā maʿa dāwūda l-jibāla yusabbiḥ'na wal-ṭayra wakunnā fāʿilīn

وَعَلَّمۡنَـٰهُ صَنۡعَةَ لَبُوسࣲ لَّكُمۡ لِتُحۡصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأۡسِكُمۡۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُمۡ شَـٰكِرُونَ ۝٨٠

M. Farook Malik

We taught him the armor’s craft, so that they might protect you in your wars: yet are you ever grateful

waʿallamnāhu ṣanʿata labūsin lakum lituḥ'ṣinakum min basikum fahal antum shākirūn

وَلِسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّیحَ عَاصِفَةࣰ تَجۡرِی بِأَمۡرِهِۦۤ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِی بَـٰرَكۡنَا فِیهَاۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨١

M. Farook Malik

We made the raging winds subservient to Solomon, pursuing its course by his command to the land which We had blessed; and We have knowledge of everything

walisulaymāna l-rīḥa ʿāṣifatan tajrī bi-amrihi ilā l-arḍi allatī bāraknā fīhā wakunnā bikulli shayin ʿālimīn

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ مَن یَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَیَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلࣰا دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَـٰفِظِینَ ۝٨٢

M. Farook Malik

And We had subjected to him many of the Satans who dived for him into the sea and performed other duties besides this; and We were the One Who had control over them for him

wamina l-shayāṭīni man yaghūṣūna lahu wayaʿmalūna ʿamalan dūna dhālika wakunnā lahum ḥāfiẓīn

۞ وَأَیُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥۤ أَنِّی مَسَّنِیَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝٨٣

M. Farook Malik

Similarly We blessed Job, when he prayed to his Lord saying, "I am badly afflicted with disease: but of all those who show mercy You are the most Merciful."

wa-ayyūba idh nādā rabbahu annī massaniya l-ḍuru wa-anta arḥamu l-rāḥimīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرࣲّۖ وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَـٰبِدِینَ ۝٨٤

M. Farook Malik

We accepted his prayer and relieved his affliction, and restored not only his family but also as many more with them as a favor from Us so that it may serve as a reminder to Our worshippers

fa-is'tajabnā lahu fakashafnā mā bihi min ḍurrin waātaynāhu ahlahu wamith'lahum maʿahum raḥmatan min ʿindinā wadhik'rā lil'ʿābidīn

وَإِسۡمَـٰعِیلَ وَإِدۡرِیسَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ كُلࣱّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝٨٥

M. Farook Malik

Likewise, We blessed Isma‘il (Ishmael), Idris and Zul-kifl, for all of them practised patience

wa-is'māʿīla wa-id'rīsa wadhā l-kif'li kullun mina l-ṣābirīn

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی رَحۡمَتِنَاۤۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٨٦

M. Farook Malik

We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous people

wa-adkhalnāhum fī raḥmatinā innahum mina l-ṣāliḥīn

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبࣰا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَیۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِی ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّاۤ أَنتَ سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّی كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٨٧

M. Farook Malik

We blessed Zun-nun (Jonah / Jonah), when he departed in anger, thinking We would not take him to task for this, but later he prayed to Us from the depths of darkness, "There is no god but You, glory be to You! Indeed I was the one who committed wrong."

wadhā l-nūni idh dhahaba mughāḍiban faẓanna an lan naqdira ʿalayhi fanādā fī l-ẓulumāti an lā ilāha illā anta sub'ḥānaka innī kuntu mina l-ẓālimīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نُۨجِی ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨٨

M. Farook Malik

We accepted his prayer and delivered him from distress; thus do We deliver the believers

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wanajjaynāhu mina l-ghami wakadhālika nunjī l-mu'minīn

وَزَكَرِیَّاۤ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِی فَرۡدࣰا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ۝٨٩

M. Farook Malik

We also blessed Zakariya, when he prayed to his Lord, "O my Lord! Do not let me remain childless even though You are the best of inheritors

wazakariyyā idh nādā rabbahu rabbi lā tadharnī fardan wa-anta khayru l-wārithīn

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ یَحۡیَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَیَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبࣰا وَرَهَبࣰاۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِینَ ۝٩٠

M. Farook Malik

We accepted his prayer and gave him John, curing his wife for him to bear a child. They were ever quick in emulating good deeds and called on Us with hope, fear, and submission

fa-is'tajabnā lahu wawahabnā lahu yaḥyā wa-aṣlaḥnā lahu zawjahu innahum kānū yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wayadʿūnanā raghaban warahaban wakānū lanā khāshiʿīn

وَٱلَّتِیۤ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِیهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَاۤ ءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٩١

M. Farook Malik

And We blessed the woman (Mary), who guarded her chastity, We breathed into her of Our Spirit and We made her and her son a sign for the whole world

wa-allatī aḥṣanat farjahā fanafakhnā fīhā min rūḥinā wajaʿalnāhā wa-ib'nahā āyatan lil'ʿālamīn

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٩٢

M. Farook Malik

Verily this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood and I am your only Lord, therefore worship Me Alone

inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-uʿ'budūn

وَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَیۡنَا رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٩٣

M. Farook Malik

But the people have divided their religion into sects between them- to Us they shall all return

wataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum kullun ilaynā rājiʿūn

7 Allah always delivers Prophets

فَمَن یَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنࣱ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡیِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَـٰتِبُونَ ۝٩٤

M. Farook Malik

Whoever shall do good deeds, provided he is a believer, his endeavor will not be rejected: We are recording it all for him

faman yaʿmal mina l-ṣāliḥāti wahuwa mu'minun falā kuf'rāna lisaʿyihi wa-innā lahu kātibūn

وَحَرَ ٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٩٥

M. Farook Malik

It is not possible that a nation which We have destroyed may rise again

waḥarāmun ʿalā qaryatin ahlaknāhā annahum lā yarjiʿūn

حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ یَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبࣲ یَنسِلُونَ ۝٩٦

M. Farook Malik

Until, when Gog and Magog will be let loose and they will swiftly swarm from every height

ḥattā idhā futiḥat yajūju wamajūju wahum min kulli ḥadabin yansilūn

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِیَ شَـٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَـٰرُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٧

M. Farook Malik

and the time of fulfillment for the True Promise will draw near, then behold! The eyes of the unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "O woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this warning; nay we were wrongdoers."

wa-iq'taraba l-waʿdu l-ḥaqu fa-idhā hiya shākhiṣatun abṣāru alladhīna kafarū yāwaylanā qad kunnā fī ghaflatin min hādhā bal kunnā ẓālimīn

إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَ ٰرِدُونَ ۝٩٨

M. Farook Malik

Surely you (O pagans) and your deities that you worship besides Allah shall be the fuel of hell; therein you shall all enter

innakum wamā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi ḥaṣabu jahannama antum lahā wāridūn

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ءَالِهَةࣰ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلࣱّ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٩٩

M. Farook Malik

If those deities would have been true gods, they would not have gotten there; but there they shall abide forever

law kāna hāulāi ālihatan mā waradūhā wakullun fīhā khālidūn

لَهُمۡ فِیهَا زَفِیرࣱ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ ۝١٠٠

M. Farook Malik

In there, sobbing will be their lot, and they will not be able to hear anything else

lahum fīhā zafīrun wahum fīhā lā yasmaʿūn

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۤ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ ۝١٠١

M. Farook Malik

Certainly those for whom the good reward from Us has preceded them will be kept far away from it

inna alladhīna sabaqat lahum minnā l-ḥus'nā ulāika ʿanhā mub'ʿadūn

لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ حَسِیسَهَاۖ وَهُمۡ فِی مَا ٱشۡتَهَتۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٢

M. Farook Malik

They shall not hear even its slightest sound, and they shall dwell forever in the midst of whatever their souls desire

lā yasmaʿūna ḥasīsahā wahum fī mā ish'tahat anfusuhum khālidūn

لَا یَحۡزُنُهُمُ ٱلۡفَزَعُ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٣

M. Farook Malik

The time of Great Terror (Day of Judgement) will not grieve them, and the angels will receive them with greetings: "This is your Day that you were promised."

lā yaḥzunuhumu l-fazaʿu l-akbaru watatalaqqāhumu l-malāikatu hādhā yawmukumu alladhī kuntum tūʿadūn

یَوۡمَ نَطۡوِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ كَطَیِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَاۤ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقࣲ نُّعِیدُهُۥۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَیۡنَاۤۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝١٠٤

M. Farook Malik

On that Day We shall roll up the heavens like a scroll of writings; just as We originated the first creation, so shall We produce it again - that is Our promise, and We will fulfill it

yawma naṭwī l-samāa kaṭayyi l-sijili lil'kutubi kamā badanā awwala khalqin nuʿīduhu waʿdan ʿalaynā innā kunnā fāʿilīn

وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِی ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ یَرِثُهَا عِبَادِیَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٥

M. Farook Malik

We wrote this in The Zaboor (Psalms xxxvii, 29) after the reminder (Torah given to Moses): that as for the land, My righteous servants shall inherit it."

walaqad katabnā fī l-zabūri min baʿdi l-dhik'ri anna l-arḍa yarithuhā ʿibādiya l-ṣāliḥūn

إِنَّ فِی هَـٰذَا لَبَلَـٰغࣰا لِّقَوۡمٍ عَـٰبِدِینَ ۝١٠٦

M. Farook Malik

Surely in this is great news for those people who worship Us

inna fī hādhā labalāghan liqawmin ʿābidīn

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةࣰ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٠٧

M. Farook Malik

O Muhammad, We have not sent you but as a blessing for all the worlds

wamā arsalnāka illā raḥmatan lil'ʿālamīn

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ أَنَّمَاۤ إِلَـٰهُكُمۡ إِلَـٰهࣱ وَ ٰحِدࣱۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ ۝١٠٨

M. Farook Malik

Tell them: "It has been revealed to me that your God is One God - will you then become Muslims?"

qul innamā yūḥā ilayya annamā ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun fahal antum mus'limūn

فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡا۟ فَقُلۡ ءَاذَنتُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَاۤءࣲۖ وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِیۤ أَقَرِیبٌ أَم بَعِیدࣱ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ ۝١٠٩

M. Farook Malik

If they give no heed, tell them: "I have warned you all alike in complete fairness; now I do not know whether what you are threatened with is near or far

fa-in tawallaw faqul ādhantukum ʿalā sawāin wa-in adrī aqarībun am baʿīdun mā tūʿadūn

إِنَّهُۥ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡتُمُونَ ۝١١٠

M. Farook Malik

It is He Who knows your spoken words and hidden thoughts

innahu yaʿlamu l-jahra mina l-qawli wayaʿlamu mā taktumūn

وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِی لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةࣱ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١١١

M. Farook Malik

I do not know whether this delay is a trial for you or you are being given respite for an appointed time."

wa-in adrī laʿallahu fit'natun lakum wamatāʿun ilā ḥīni

قَـٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ ۝١١٢

M. Farook Malik

Finally the Prophet said: "O Lord! Pass Your Judgment with fairness. And O People! Our Lord is most Compassionate, Whose help we seek against the blasphemies you utter."

qāla rabbi uḥ'kum bil-ḥaqi warabbunā l-raḥmānu l-mus'taʿānu ʿalā mā taṣifūn
