8:42
إِذۡ أَنتُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَهُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلۡقُصۡوَىٰ وَٱلرَّكۡبُ أَسۡفَلَ مِنكُمۡۚ وَلَوۡ تَوَاعَدتُّمۡ لَٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡمِیعَـٰدِ وَلَـٰكِن لِّیَقۡضِیَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرࣰا كَانَ مَفۡعُولࣰا لِّیَهۡلِكَ مَنۡ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَیِّنَةࣲ وَیَحۡیَىٰ مَنۡ حَیَّ عَنۢ بَیِّنَةࣲۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَسَمِیعٌ عَلِیمٌ ۝٤٢

And (recall) when you were encamped on the near side of the valley, and they were encamped on the further side, and the caravan was below you. Even if you had made a mutual appointment (to meet in a battle), you would definitely have failed the engagement. However, you were brought to an engagement without any previous appointment so that Allâh might accomplish the thing which was destined to be done, that those who were to be perished would be perished after a clear evidence (of His Power), and those who were to remain alive would remain alive after a clear evidence. Most certainly Allâh is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
idh antum bil-ʿud'wati l-dun'yā wahum bil-ʿud'wati l-quṣ'wā wal-rakbu asfala minkum walaw tawāʿadttum la-ikh'talaftum fī l-mīʿādi walākin liyaqḍiya l-lahu amran kāna mafʿūlan liyahlika man halaka ʿan bayyinatin wayaḥyā man ḥayya ʿan bayyinatin wa-inna l-laha lasamīʿun ʿalīmu

8:72
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَـٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمۡوَ ٰلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَاوَوا۟ وَّنَصَرُوۤا۟ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِیَاۤءُ بَعۡضࣲۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَمۡ یُهَاجِرُوا۟ مَا لَكُم مِّن وَلَـٰیَتِهِم مِّن شَیۡءٍ حَتَّىٰ یُهَاجِرُوا۟ۚ وَإِنِ ٱسۡتَنصَرُوكُمۡ فِی ٱلدِّینِ فَعَلَیۡكُمُ ٱلنَّصۡرُ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِۭ بَیۡنَكُمۡ وَبَیۡنَهُم مِّیثَـٰقࣱۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِیرࣱ ۝٧٢

Verily, those who Adhere to Faith, emigrated and strove hard with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allâh, as well as those who have given the Prophet and his followers a refuge among them, and have supported them, these are all allies to one another. As for those Monotheistic Believers who did not emigrate, you are not responsible for their protection until they emigrate. Yet if they ask assistance of you on account of their Faith, it is incumbent on you to help them except against a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance. And Allâh is All- Seer of whatever you do.
inna alladhīna āmanū wahājarū wajāhadū bi-amwālihim wa-anfusihim fī sabīli l-lahi wa-alladhīna āwaw wanaṣarū ulāika baʿḍuhum awliyāu baʿḍin wa-alladhīna āmanū walam yuhājirū mā lakum min walāyatihim min shayin ḥattā yuhājirū wa-ini is'tanṣarūkum fī l-dīni faʿalaykumu l-naṣru illā ʿalā qawmin baynakum wabaynahum mīthāqun wal-lahu bimā taʿmalūna baṣīru
