قُلُوبِهِمْ qulūbihim

فَقَالُوا۟ faqālū
and said V
رَبُّنَا rabbunā
Our Lord Noun
رَبُّ rabbu
(is) the Lord Noun
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens Noun
وَٱلْأَرْضِ wal-arḍi
and the earth Noun
لَن lan
Never Prep
نَّدْعُوَا۟ nadʿuwā
we will invoke V
مِن min
besides Him Prep
دُونِهِۦٓ dūnihi
besides Him Noun
إِلَٰهًا ilāhan
any god Noun
لَّقَدْ laqad
Certainly Prep
قُلْنَآ qul'nā
we would have said V
إِذًا idhan
then Prep
شَطَطًا shaṭaṭan
an enormity Noun

We gave strength to their hearts when they stood up and said, ‘Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and earth. We shall never call upon any god other than Him, for that would be an outrageous thing to do

وَرَبَطۡنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ إِذۡ قَامُوا۟ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَن نَّدۡعُوَا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ إِلَـٰهࣰاۖ لَّقَدۡ قُلۡنَاۤ إِذࣰا شَطَطًا ۝١٤

warabaṭnā ʿalā qulūbihim idh qāmū faqālū rabbunā rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi lan nadʿuwā min dūnihi ilāhan laqad qul'nā idhan shaṭaṭa
