The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:36

أُنثَىٰ unthā

وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu

أَعْلَمُ aʿlamu
knows better Noun
بِمَا bimā
[of] what Noun
وَضَعَتْ waḍaʿat
she delivered V
وَلَيْسَ walaysa
and is not V
ٱلذَّكَرُ l-dhakaru
the male Noun
كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ kal-unthā
like the female Noun
وَإِنِّى wa-innī
And that I Prep
سَمَّيْتُهَا sammaytuhā
[I] (have) named her V
مَرْيَمَ maryama
Maryam Noun
وَإِنِّىٓ wa-innī
and that I Prep
أُعِيذُهَا uʿīdhuhā
[I] seek refuge for her V
بِكَ bika
in You Noun
وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا wadhurriyyatahā
and her offspring Noun
مِنَ mina
from Prep
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ l-shayṭāni
the Shaitaan Noun
ٱلرَّجِيمِ l-rajīmi
the rejected Noun

but when she gave birth, she said, ‘My Lord! I have given birth to a girl’- God knew best what she had given birth to: the male is not like the female- ‘ I name her Mary and I commend her and her offspring to Your protection from the rejected Satan.’

Arabic Text

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتۡهَا قَالَتۡ رَبِّ إِنِّی وَضَعۡتُهَاۤ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتۡ وَلَیۡسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلۡأُنثَىٰۖ وَإِنِّی سَمَّیۡتُهَا مَرۡیَمَ وَإِنِّیۤ أُعِیذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّیَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِیمِ ۝٣٦

falammā waḍaʿathā qālat rabbi innī waḍaʿtuhā unthā wal-lahu aʿlamu bimā waḍaʿat walaysa l-dhakaru kal-unthā wa-innī sammaytuhā maryama wa-innī uʿīdhuhā bika wadhurriyyatahā mina l-shayṭāni l-rajīm
