The Spoils of War 8:50

يَضْرِبُونَ yaḍribūna

وُجُوهَهُمْ wujūhahum

وَأَدْبَٰرَهُمْ wa-adbārahum
and their backs Noun
وَذُوقُوا۟ wadhūqū
Taste V
عَذَابَ ʿadhāba
(the) punishment Noun
ٱلْحَرِيقِ l-ḥarīqi
(of) the Blazing Fire Noun

If only you [Prophet] could see, when the angels take the souls of the disbelievers, how they strike their faces and backs: it will be said, ‘Taste the punishment of the Fire

وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰۤ إِذۡ یَتَوَفَّى ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ یَضۡرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمۡ وَأَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِیقِ ۝٥٠

walaw tarā idh yatawaffā alladhīna kafarū l-malāikatu yaḍribūna wujūhahum wa-adbārahum wadhūqū ʿadhāba l-ḥarīq
