The Slanderer
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ
Woe to every fault-finding backbite
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter,
Woe Unto every slanderer, traducer
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter
Woe to every gossiper and abusive reprobate!
Woe to every faultfinding backbiter
Woe to every scandal-monger and slanderer
Woe to every one who slanders and vilifies
Disaster is (decreed) for every slanderer, defamer
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer
Woe to every slanderer and fault-finder.
How sad is the case of a back biter and slanderer
Woe to every scandalous, backbiter
Woe to every slandering backbiter,
Woe to every slanderous backbiter
Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter
Woe unto every detractor stigmatizer.
Woe unto every slanderer, and backbiter
Woe to every slanderous scandal-monger and backbiter
Woe to every backbiter, slandere
Woe to every BACKBITER, Defamer
Woe to every slanderer, backbiter
Woe to every slandering backbiter
Woe to every slanderer and gossiper!

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter
Woe to every slanderer, defamer
Sorrowful is the state of every slanderer, defamer,
Woe to everyone who taunts, slanders, or backbites others
Woe to everyone who slanders (face to face) and finds fault (in absence)
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer.
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer.
Calamity/scandal/woe to every/each backbiter/spurrer , defamer/blamer
WOE unto every slanderer, fault-finder
Woe to every persistent slanderer, persistent defamer
Woe unto every slandering traducer
Woe to every slanderer and backbite
Woe to every backbiter, deride
Woe unto every slanderer, backbiter!
Misery is for the slanderer and the backbiter
Woe betide every backbiter, slanderer,
Woe to every scandal-monger who thrives on traducing people
Wretched is every backbiting fault-finder,
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,
Woe to every mocking slanderer.
WOE BETIDE every back-biting slandere
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer
Woe to every scorning backbiter
Woe to every scorning backbiter
Woe to every backbiter, defamer.
Woe to every taunting slanderer and backbiter
Woe unto every slanderer, fault-finder! (He himself does little but spends a lot of energy detracting the doers)
Woe to every slanderer, defamer
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer
Woe unto every slandering backbite
Grief (and warning) to every Scandal-monger and backbiter
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.
Woe to every slanderer backbiter
Woe to every slandering caviler
Cursed is every back-biting slanderer (who finds fault with others)
Woe to every scorner and mocke
Woe to every backbiter, defamer,
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter
الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ
who amasses riches, counting them over
who gathers wealth and counts it.
Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it
Who amasses wealth and hordes it
Who collects wealth and counts it and recounts it (constantly checking his bank account to see how much money he has)!
who has amassed wealth and hoarded it!
who amasses wealth and counts it over
Who (sees himself above others because he) has amassed wealth and (without expending it in God’s cause and for the needy) counts it (in greedy love for it)
Who amasses wealth (instead of spending it for the good of humanity), counts it over and over and depends upon it as a safeguard (against his future possible hardships)
who has gathered riches and counted them ove
The one who piles up wealth and keeps count of it,
He piles up wealth and is proud of his worldly “achievements”
Who accumulates wealth and counts it
who hoarded wealth and counted it over,
who collects wealth and counts it
Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting
He who has amassed wealth and then has counted it.
Who heapeth up riches, and prepareth the same for the time to come
Who collects wealth and counts it
who amasses wealth and counts it
Who amasseth wealth and storeth it against the future
that who collected wealth and counted it
who gathered wealth and counted it over and over!
He/she collects wealth and hoards it.

(Woe to him) who accumulates wealth and keeps counting it

Who gathered/accumulated property/possession/wealth and he counted it repeatedly
[Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard
Who has gathered wealth and counted it over
Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it
who collects and hordes wealth
who accumulates wealth and counts it
Who collects wealth and continuously counts it.
The one who gathers wealth; and counts it (zestfully)
Who amassed enormous amounts of wealth and continuously counts it,
Who amasses money and multiplies it for the sake of accumulating wealth whereof reckoning it numerically gives him pleasure
who gathers wealth and counts it over and over,
who amasses wealth ˹greedily˺ and counts it ˹repeatedly˺,
Who gathers wealth and counts it.
who amasses riches and sedulously hoards them
He hoards money and counts it
who has amassed wealth and diversified it,

The one who gathers money and counts it.
who piles up wealth thinking that his wealth will make him immortal.
Whose efforts revolve around gathering material possessions and counting them. (Devoid of a higher goal, he opposes any semblance of reform (70:18))

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ
thinking they will make him live for ever
One who thinks that his wealth will make him last forever!
He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him
Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him
Thinking his wealth will make him immortal!
He thinks his wealth will make him live for ever.
He supposes his wealth will make him immortal
He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever
He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal
thinking his riches have made him immortal
thinking that his wealth (and possession) makes him immortal.
Thinking that his wealth will render him immortal

He thinks that his wealth made him last for ever. [‘made’ is the literal translation of the Arabic word. It stands for ‘would make’]

كَلَّا لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ
No indeed! He will be thrust into the Crusher
Nay! Surely, he will be thrown into the crushing fire.
By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire
By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama
No, (it is not like what he thinks)! Indeed, he will surely be thrown into the Crusher (the crushing torment).
No indeed! He will be flung into the Shatterer.
No indeed! He will surely be cast into the Crusher
By no means! He will most certainly be hurled into the Consuming Disaster
No, never! he shall surely be cast into the crushing torment (of Hell)
No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher
No way, he shall be thrown into the crushing fire.
He will surely be thrown into the crushing Fire
By no means. He will surely be thrown into that which breaks into pieces
But no! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.
Not so! he shall be hurled into ElHutamah
Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One
Not at all! Most certainly he will be cast in the Hutamah [the one that breaks into pieces].
By no means. He shall surely be cast into al Hotama
Not so! He shall be hurled into El´Hutamah
On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher
Nay! for verily he shall be flung into the Crushing Fire
By no means! Indeed he will be cast in Al-Hutamatah
No indeed! He will be cast forth into the Crusher.
Nonsense! He/she will surely be thrown into the crusher.
By no means! He shall be thrown into Hotamah
Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher
Nay, he will certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster
No, he will definitely be flung into the crushing one.
Nay! He will surely be thrown into the Crushing Disaster
By no means! He will certainly be cast into al-Hutama (the crushing up Fire)
Never! He will be thrown into the Destroyer
Never! He will be thrown into the Destroyer.
Never! He will be thrown into the Destroyer.
No but he will be discarded/thrown away (E) in the intense fire/Hell
Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment
Not at all! Indeed he will definitely be flung off into the Crusher
Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One
By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah
Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing Fire
Nay, He will definitely be thrown into the ‘Crusher’.
Of course not! He will certainly be flung into the ´Wrecker´
No indeed! Such a person will certainly be flung into the Crusher.
Never, but he and all that he amassed will be cast into the Hutama, a fiercely merciless fire
No, he will be thrown into the Crusher!
Not at all! Such a person will certainly be tossed into the Crusher.
But no, he will be flung into the shredder.
By no means! He shall be flung into the Destroying Flame
Never; he will be thrown into the Devastator
No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.
No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.
Nay, He will be hurled into the Crusher (Al-Hotamah).
By no means! He will indeed be flung into the crushing one.
Nay, he will be flung into the Shredder. (9:35)
Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster
Nay ! he shall, surely, be cast into the crushing torment
Nay! He shall surely be cast into the crushing Fire
By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into that which breaks to pieces
No indeed! He will be thrust into the Shatterer.
By no means. He will be thrown into the Crusher
No indeed! He will be hurled into the Shattering.
"No, but he will surely be thrown to the Crushing One!"
No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher
Not so, surely he will definitely be thrown in the Crusher.
By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces
By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ
What will explain to you what the Crusher is
What will make you know what the crushing fire is?
And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is
How will you comprehend what Hutama is
And what informs you of the Crusher?
And what will convey to you what the Shatterer is?
And what will show you what is the Crusher
What enables you to perceive the Consuming Disaster
And what should make you know what the crushing torment is
and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher
And how would you know what the crushing fire is?
If you knew what the crushing Fire is
And what will explain to you about that which breaks into pieces
And what can make you realize what the Crusher is?
And what shall make thee understand what ElHutamah is?
And what have you understood what the Crushing One is
And what do you know about what Hutamah is?
And what shall cause thee to understand what al Hotama is
Ah, what shall make you understand what El´Hutamah is
What shall let you know what the Crusher is
And who shall teach thee what the Crushing Fire is
And what made you realise what Al-Hutamatah is
And what will cause thee to recognize what the Crusher is?
What will explain to you the crusher?
What will make you understand what Hotamah is
And what do you know what the Crusher is
And what will make thee realize what the crushing disaster is
And what will make you realize what the crushing one is?
And what do you know what the Crushing Disaster is
And what will make you understand what al-Hutama (the crushing up Fire) is
And do you know what is the Destroye
And do you know what is the Destroyer?
And do you know what is the Destroyer?
And what made you know/informed you what the intense fire/Hell (is)
And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be
And what makes you realize what the Crusher is
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is
Would that you knew what hutamah is
And what may let you know what the Crushing Fire is
What would make you aware of what the ‘Crusher’ might be?
And what do you suppose is the ´Wrecker´
And what will make you know exactly what the Crusher is?
You just do not know what the Hutama is like
And what can explain to you what the Crusher is?
And what will make you realize what the Crusher is?
And how do you know what the shredder is?
Would that you knew what the Destroying Flame is like
Do you know what the Devastator is
And what will convey to you what is the Crusher?
And what will convey to you what is the Crusher?
And what cognizes you, what the Crusher is?
Would that you know what the crushing one is
Ah, what will convey to you what the Shredder is
And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is
And what should make thee know what the crushing torment is
And what shall apprise thee of the crushing Fire
And what will explain to you that which breaks to Pieces
And what can make you know what the Shatterer is?
And what will make you realize what the Crusher is
And what will convey to you what the Shattering is?
And what can teach you what the Crushing One is
And what can make you know what is the Crusher
And what will make you know what the Crusher is?
And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces
And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces
نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ
It is God’s Fire, made to blaze
The fire kindled by Allah.
Fire of Allah, Kindled
It is the fire kindled by Go
It is the inflamed fire of Allah (ignited in the mind, deriving from his nature)!
The kindled Fire of Allah
[It is] the fire of Allah, set ablaze
It is God’s fire, set ablaze
(It is) the Fire set ablaze by Allah
The Fire of God kindle
(It is the) blazing fire of God
It is a Fire prepared by All Mighty Himself
It is the fire of God kindled to a blaze
Allah's kindled Fire
the fire of God kindled
The fire of Allah, that is ablaze
The fire of all in full blaze
It is the kindled fire of God
The Fire by Allah kindled
(It is) the kindled Fire of Allah
It is God's kindled fire
(It is the) Fire of Allah, kindled
It is the fire of God, that which is kindled eternally,
It is the fire kindled by Allah.
It is the fire kindled to a blaze by Allah Himself
It is the Fire kindled by Allah

God's kindled Fire
The kindled Fire of God.

God's fire, the ignited/kindled
A fire kindled by God
(It is) the Fire of Allah kindled
(It is) the fire of Allah, kindled
It is a fierce fire created by Go
It is Allah‘s kindled fir
It is the ever-blazing fire of Allâh.
(It is) the fire of Allah, kindled ablaze
It is the kindled Fire of of Allâh,
It is the infernal pit of Hell fire ordained by Alla
Allah’s blazing Fire,
˹It is˺ Allah’s kindled Fire,
Allah´s lit fire,
It is God‘s own kindled fire
GOD's blazing Hellfire
It is the kindled Fire of God
It is the kindled Fire of God
Allah's kindled Fire.
It is Allah's own kindled fire,
A Fire kindled by Allah
It is the fire kindled by Allah
It is ALLAH's kindled fire
The Fire of God, ignited
(It is) the Fire of Allah lighted up (to a flame)
It is the kindled fire of God.
God's kindled Fire
It is the fire of God alight,
"It is the fire of Allah, kindled,"
It is the fire of Allah , [eternally] fueled
The kindled fire of God
(It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) God kindled (to a blaze)
(It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze)
الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ
which rises over people’s hearts
The one who will leap up over the hearts,
Which mounteth up to the hearts
Which penetrates the heart
Covering the hearts (the reflectors of the Names to consciousness).
reaching right into the heart.
which will overspread the hearts
Which penetrates deep into hearts (and burns within, as it burns outside)
And which rises over (the feelings of) the hearts (- the origin of a man's hell)
roaring over the heart
which rises over (and overtakes) the hearts,
Which rises above the hearts
That mounts right up to the hearts
that mounts over burning hearts.
which rises above the hearts
Which will climb on to the hearts
The fire which penetrates all the way to the soft layers of the heart.
which shall mount above the hearts of those who shall be cast therein
Which leaps into the heart
which shall oversee the hearts
Which shall mount above the hearts of the damned
that which leaps over the hearts
that peruses the minds,
It leaps to the hearts.
The one which will rise right to the hearts
the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals)
Which rises over the hearts
which is made to rise over the hearts,
That which would ride over human minds
That will rise over the hearts (with its torture)
Which reaches the inside of the hearts
Which reaches the inside of the hearts.
Which reaches the inside of the minds.
Which ascends/rises on (to) the hearts
which will rise over the [guilty] hearts
Which views the heart-sights
Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men)
to penetrate into the hearts
that will peep into the hearts
Which leaps (directly) to the hearts.
Which will rise (and reach) up to (clutch) the hearts
Which leaps (directly) to the hearts (of the impious).
Which fire finds its way to the innermost being of thoughts and desire
which rises over their hearts.
which rages over the hearts.
Which engulfs the hearts.
which will rise up to the hearts
It burns them inside out
reaching right into the hearts.

Which rises up on the hearts.
which rages over men's hearts.
Which originates in the hearts. (And engulfs the hearts)
Which rises above the hearts
Which rises over the hearts
which engulfs hearts
The (Fire) which rises to the heart
Which rises up to the hearts.
That laps to the hearts
that rises to the hearts.
which reaches right into the hearts
Which mounts directed at the hearts
Which rises over the hearts.
The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts
The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts
إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
It closes in on the
surely, it will close on them (from all sides),
Verily it shall close upon them
(And) vaults them ove
Indeed, it closes in on them (they are eternally trapped in it),
It is sealed in above them
Indeed it will close in upon the
Surely it will close in upon the
It (- Fire) will be closed in on them (so as not to let them escape from it and also increase for them the torture of heat)
covered down upon them
indeed, it closes over them (all over them)
And covers the guilty one
It will be made into a vault over them
Indeed, it is over them with no exit,
Verily, it is an archway over the
Indeed it will be shut over them
It will be shut up on them,
Verily it shall be as an arched vault above them
Lo! It closes in as a vault on the

It shall verily rise over them like a vault
Surely, it shall be closed in on them (and made to cover and envelop them completely)
that which will be closing in on them
Truly, it confines them.

Indeed, that (Fire) will be closed upon them all around
It will confine them therein

That it truly is on them stationary/residing
verily, it will close in upon the
Surely it is vaulted over (i.e., with no outlet) upon them
Lo! it is closed in on the
It will engulf them
It will be closed on them
It will be closed over them
Indeed, an inverted dome (of fire) would be (placed) upon them
Verily Hellfire will be closed and sealed upon them
It is vaulted over the wicked
Indeed, it is closed over them from all sides,
It will be sealed over them,
It closes in on them,
It will close in upon them
They will be confined therein
it will engulf them

Surely it is on them, locked up.
It is closed on them from everyside,
Verily, it closes upon them. (As they had kept their possessions closed in safes and vaults, and kept all kindness surrounded in the flames of jealousy)
Surely it shall be closed over upon them
It will be closed in on the
Truly it is enclosed upon the
It shall be made to cover over them
It will be closed upon them completely.
It closes in on them
Verily it forms a cover over them
Surely it closes in on them (from every side
Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon the
Indeed, it is closed-in upon them,
It shall be made into a vault over them

فِي عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ
in towering columns
in outstretched pillars (of fire).
In pillars stretched forth
In extending columns
In extended columns.

(The flames of the Fire will rise) in (the form of) huge outstretched columns

In towering columns (of fierce flames and they will not find any way to escape)

Enclosed in (a fence of) tall pillars

flames stretching out in columns.In the name of Allah, the Kind, the Caring</basmala
