The Expansion
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ
Did We not relieve your heart for you [Prophet]
Have We not opened your heart for you (O Muhammad)
Have We not opened forth for thee thy breast
HAVE WE NOT opened up your breas
Did We not expand your breast (broaden your capabilities)?
Did We not expand your breast for you
Did We not open your breast for yo
Have We not expanded for you your breast
Have We not (in fulfillment of your vision in your boyhood and again when you were entrusted with the Divine Mission) opened, expanded (and illuminated) for you your bosom
Did We not expand thy breast for the
Did We not expand your chest/mind for you,
Have I (God) not relieved you [Mohammad/ mankind] from the hardships…
Have We not expanded your chest
Did We not expand yoursg chest,
Have we not expanded for thee thy breast
Did We not widen your bosom
Have you not expanded for you your bosom?
Have We not opened thy breast
Have We not expanded for you your breast
Have We not expanded your chest for you (Prophet Muhammad)
HAVE we not OPENED thine heart for thee
Have We not widened for you, your chest (i.e., made your heart receptive to the Message)
Expand We not thy breast
Have We not expanded your breast for you?
O Prophet! Have We not expanded your breast for yo
(O Prophet), Did We not lay open your breas
Have We not expanded for thee thy breast
Did We not expand for you your bosom
Have We not opened for you your head
Have We not broadened your breast for you (for the light of knowledge, wisdom and spiritual gnosis)
Did We not relieve your ches
Did We not comfort your chest,
Did We not comfort your chest,
Did We not delight/expand your chest (innermost)
HAVE WE NOT opened up thy heart
Have We not expanded your breast for you
Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate
(Muhammad), have We not comforted your heart
Have We not caused your bosom to be wide open for you
Have We not comforted your heart,
(Oh Muhammad, SAW), did We not lay your chest open (and responsive to the truth)
Have We not comforted your heart,
Did We not solace you O Muhammad and make joyful your bosom (and make your spirit thirsty for knowledge, wisdom and spiritual light?
Didn’t We expand your chest,
Have We not uplifted your heart for you ˹O Prophet˺,
Did We not expand your chest,
HAVE WE not lifted up your hear
Did we not cool your temper
Did We not relieve the tightness in your chest
Did We not relieve the tightness in your chest
Did We not enrapture your chest?
Have We not opened up your heart,
Did We not expand your chest? (Endowed you with resilience, understanding and a heart and mind to accomplish the impossible)
Have We not expanded for you your breast
Have WE not opened for thee thy bosom
Did We not expand for thee thy breast
Have We not expanded for you (O Prophet), your chest
Didn’t We soothe your heart for you?
Did We not soothe your heart
Have We not expanded your chest for you?
Have We not expanded your breas
Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast
Did We not expand for you your breast?
Have We not expanded thee thy breast?
Have We not expanded thee thy breast?
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ
and remove the burde
and removed your burden from you
And We have taken off from thee thy burthen
And removed your burde
Did We not remove your burden (of your identity) from you (by revealing the reality to you)?
and remove your load from you
and relieve you of your burde
And eased you of the burden
And (have We not) relieved you of your burden (of various responsibilities
and lift from thee thy burden
and We rid you of your burden,
…by giving you a peaceful feeling and…
And removed from you your burden
and lift from you your burden
and set down from thee thy loa
And relieve you of the burden
And We laid down from you your burden;
and eased thee of thy burden
And set down from you your loa
and relieved you of your burde
And taken off from thee thy burden
and removed from you your burden (of man-created religion, traditions and Fiqh) —
and lifted from thee the heavy loaded burden,
We removed your burden from you.
and relieved you from the burde
and relieve you of the burde
And removed from thee thy burden
and relieve you of your burden
And lifted your burden off you
And We have taken off the load (of grief of the Umma [Community]) from you
And take from you your loa
And take from you your load,
And take from you your burden,
And We raised from you your sin/load/burden
and lifted from thee the burde
And laid aside from you your encumbrance
And eased thee of the burde
relieved you of the burde
And We removed from you your burde
Relieved you of your burden,
And We lightened your burden
Relieved you of your burden,
And did We not unload your burden of the heavy responsibility (by prompting you to feel drawn to it by invisible influence making you hug it to your heart and inducing you to lift to Us your inward sight?
and lifted your burden,
relieved you of the burden
And relieved you of your burden,
and relieved you¹ of the burde
And we unloaded your load (of sins)
and lift your burden,
and lift your burden,
And We placed off, from you, your burden.
and relieved you of your burden,
And thus lightened your burden. (Made the journey through life easy by bestowing upon you the perceptual and intellectual faculties). (80:20)
And taken off from you your burden
And removed from thee thy burden
and lift from thee thy burde

And We set down from you your burden
And removed from thee thy burde

الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ
that weighed so heavily on your back
which weighed down your back,
Which weighed down thy back
Which had left you devoid of hope
Which had weighed (heavy) upon your back (overburdened you)!
which weighed down your back?
which [almost] broke your back
Which weighed so heavily on your back
Which had weighed your back down
the burden that weighed down thy back
that (almost) broke your back,
…. removing your burden that was pressing your back
Which galled your back
which weighed down your back,
which galled thy back
Which had broken your back
which weighed heavy on your back.
which galled thy back
Which galled your back
that weighed down your back
Which galled thy back
that which had almost broken your back
that weighed heavily on thy back?
It was a weight upon your back.
which weighed down your back
that had well-nigh broken your back

Which [burden] weighed upon your back
(The load) which was growing heavier on your (holy) back
Which had put strain on your bac

Which weighed heavily (on)/burdened your back
that had weighed so heavily on thy back
Which weighed down your back
Which weighed down thy back
which had been a heavy weight upon your bac
that had (almost) broken your back
Which had weighed heavily upon your back
That bore so heavy on your back
Which had weighed so heavily upon your back
A burden of an immense magnitude, We realize was more than your back could bear
which was breaking your back.
which weighed so heavily on your back,
Which weighed down your back,
which weighed down your back
One that burdened your back
that weighed heavily on your back
that weighed heavily on your back
Which overloaded your back.
which weighed heavily on your back?
Which would weigh on your back so heavily
Which pressed heavily upon your back
Which had well-nigh broken thy back
that weighed heavily upon thy back
The (burden) that did strained your back
Which had strained your back.
Which weighed down your back
And raised your repute for you?
which had weighted down your back
Which had weighed upon your bac
Which weighed down your back.
The which did gall thy back?
The which did gall thy back?
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
and raise your reputation high
and raised high for you your fame?
And We have upraised for thee thy renown
And exalted your fame
Did We not exalt your remembrance (by reminding you of and making you live by the reality)?
Did We not raise your renown high?
Did We not exalt your name
And (have We not) exalted for you your renown
And have (We not) exalted for you your name and given you fame
Did We not exalt thy fame
and We elevated your reputation for you?
Have I (God) not raised you to a honorable position
And raised high the esteem you are held
and raised for you your remembrance?
and exalted for thee thy renown
And We have exalted your remembrance for you (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him)
And We raised for you your remembrance.
and raised thy reputation for thee
And exalted for you your renown
Have We not raised your remembrance
And have we not raised thy name for thee
And We exalted in your interest, Zikr ('Message') revealed unto you. (See Verse 43/44)
Exalted We not thy remembrance?
We elevated your reputation.
and exalted your fame
And did We not exalt your fame
And exalted for thee thy mention
and exalted for you your mention?
And raised high the esteem, (in which) you (are held), for you
And We exalted for you your remembrance (by annexing it to Ours everywhere in the world and in the Hereafter)
And We have raised your remembranc
And We have raised your remembrance,
And We have raised your remembrance,
And We raised for you your memory/reputation
And [have We not] raised thee high in dignity
And did We not raise for you your remembrance
And exalted thy fame
and granted you an exalted reputation
and We raised high your name
And elevated high for you, your eminence?
And We raised your prestige (in the world)
And elevated high your eminence for you?
And did We not praise your name to fame (that you are being mentioned by others with admiration, adoration and commendation?
We raised high your honour.
and elevated your renown for you?
And elevated your mention?
And have We not given you high renown
We exalted you to an honorable position
and raised high your reputation?
and raised high your reputation?
And raised for you your reminder?
And have We not given you high renown?
And exalted your renown (O Prophet!). (And gave eminence to you, O Mankind!)
And exalted for you your esteem
And WE have exalted thy name
And did We not elevate thy renown
And elevated your fame (in the eyes of the people?
And We raised high for you your reputation.
And raised for you your reputation
For truly relief comes with distress;
And (have We not) exalted your fame
And raised high for you your repute
And We raised for you your mention.
And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)
And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
So truly where there is hardship there is also ease
Surely, with the hardship, there is relief.
Then verily along with every hardship is ease
Surely with hardship there is ease
So, surely with every hardship there is ease.
For truly with hardship comes ease;
Indeed ease accompanies hardship
Then, surely, with hardship comes ease
So surely every hardship is followed by ease
So truly with hardship comes ease
So, with difficulty (and hardship) there is ease.
Then know that there is always a relief after hardship
So indeed, with every difficulty there is relief
So indeed, with hardship comes ease;
Verily, with difficulty is ease
So indeed with hardship is ease
And truly with the hardship there is ease.
Verily a difficulty shall be attended with ease
Verily, with difficulty comes ease
Indeed, hardship is followed by ease
Then verily along with trouble cometh ease
So, without doubt, linked with hard endeavour, is relief and ease
So, truly, with hardship, ease.
Truly, with every difficulty, there is relief.
Surely with every difficulty there is relief
Indeed, there is ease with hardship
Surely with difficulty is ease
So certainly with difficulty is ease.
With every difficulty then, indeed, there is a way out
So surely ease (comes) with every hardship
So with hardship comes ease
So with hardship comes ease.
So with difficulty comes ease.
So that truly with the difficulty/hardship (is) ease/flexibility
And, behold, with every hardship comes ease
So surely with difficulty comes ease
But lo! with hardship goeth ease
After every difficulty there is relief
So, undoubtedly, along with the hardship there is ease
Indeed, with every adversity comes ease!
The fact is: along with hardship, there is ease
Surely with every adversity comes ease!
In instances of hardship there is always included something of relief
Indeed, every hardship is followed by ease,
So, surely with hardship comes ease.
So with hardship comes ease,
With every hardship there comes ease.
With pain there is gain
For truly, with hardship comes ease.
For truly, with hardship comes ease.
So surely with the hardship, an ease.
With every hardship comes ease.
And behold, with every hardship comes ease
Surely with difficulty is ease
Surely, there is ease after hardship
For truly with hardship comes ease
So, surely with every difficulty there is relief
Surely, with hardship comes ease.
With hardship comes ease
indeed, with distress comes relief.
"So, surely, with hardship comes ease,"
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease
Then indeed, with the difficulty is ease.
So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief
So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief

truly where there is hardship there is also ease
Surely, with the hardship, there is relief.
Verily along with every hardship is ease
With hardship indeed there is ease
Yes, surely with every hardship there is ease.

Surely, with hardship comes ease
Yes, every hardship shall be followed by an ease

Indeed, with difficulty there is ease.
I (God) repeat: “There is always a relief after hardship.”
Indeed, with every difficulty there is relief
indeed, with hardship comes ease.
verily, with difficulty is ease
Indeed with hardship is ease
Truly with the hardship there is ease.
Verily a difficulty shall be attended with ease
Verily, with difficulty comes ease
indeed, hardship is followed by ease
Verily along with trouble cometh ease
Surely, following hardship is relief
Truly, with hardship, ease.
Truly, with every difficulty, there is relief.
Surely with every difficulty there is relief
Most certainly, there is ease with hardship
With difficulty is surely ease
Certainly with difficulty is ease.
Indeed, with every difficulty there is a way out
Verily, with (this) hardship (too) there is ease
With hardship comes ease
With hardship comes ease.
With difficulty comes ease.
That truly with the difficulty/hardship (is) ease/flexibility
verily, with every hardship comes ease
Surely with difficulty comes ease
Lo! with hardship goeth ease
Certainly, after every difficulty there comes relief
Undoubtedly, along with the hardship there is ease
Indeed, with every adversity comes ease!
No doubt, along with hardship there is ease
Surely with that adversity comes more ease !
Yes, indeed, with an instance of hardship there is always included something of relief
indeed, every hardship is followed by ease.
Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease.
With hardship comes ease.
With every hardship there comes ease
Indeed, with pain there is gain
Indeed, with hardship comes ease.
Indeed, with hardship comes ease.
Surely, with the hardship, ease.
Indeed, with every hardship comes ease.
Indeed, with every hardship comes ease
With difficulty is surely ease
Aye, surely, there is ease after hardship
Truly with hardship comes ease
Surely, with every difficulty there is relief
Certainly, with difficulty, there is relief.
With hardship comes ease
So when you are finished, be diligent still,
"surely, with hardship comes ease."
Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease
Indeed, with the difficulty is ease.
Verily, with every difficulty there is relief
Verily, with every difficulty there is relief
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ
The moment you are freed [of one task] work on
When you have finished (your work), then stand up (for Allah’s worship)
Then when thou becometh relieved, toil
So when you are free work diligently
So, when you are free (of your duties) labor (for your actual duty)!
So when you have finished, work on,
So when you are done, appoint
Therefore, when you are free (from one task), resume (another task)
When you are free (having finished one task) strive hard to do (the next)
So when thou art empty, labour
So, when you are done (with your duties), then work hard (for other duties).
Therefore, anytime that you are relieved from a hardship,…
Therefore, when you are free, still labor hard
So whenever yousg are done (from work), stand up,
And when thou art at leisure then toil
So when you finish the prayer, strive in supplication
So when you are disengaged from your tasks, then stand upright [in prayer].
When thou shalt have ended thy preaching, labour to serve God in return for his favours
So when you are at relieved, then still toil
So, when you have finished (your prayer), labor (in supplication)
But when thou art set at liberty, then prosecute thy toil
So whenever you became free, get attached to the ideal target (i.e., understanding, adopting and propagating Al-Kitab)
When thou hadst finished thy duties, then, work on supplication,
Whenever you are relieved [of difficulty], work diligently.
Therefore, when you are free from your daily task, devote your time to the labor of worshi
So, whenever you are free, strive in devotion
So when thou art free (from anxiety), work hard
So when you are free, then strive,
So then, when you get free (of your difficulty or from your worldly task), rise up
So when you are free (from educating the Umma (Community), preaching the Din (Religion) and fighting, and fulfilling your responsibilities), then strive hard (in remembrance and the worship of your Lord)
So when you are done, then stand
So when you are done, then stand.
So when you have free time, then stand,
So when/if you finished/ended/completed , so work hard/fatigue
Hence, when thou art freed [from distress], remain steadfast
So when you are at leisure, (i.e., not o) then labor
So when thou art relieved, still toi
When you are free from (your obligations), strive hard (to worship God
So, when you are free (from collective services), toil hard (in worship)
When you are finished with prayer, exert yourself in supplicating
So, when you are done (with your daily chores), attend
So, when you have finished your prayer, exert yourself in supplication
Therefore, when you are free of worldly duties, engage in worship and meditation
Once you finish your daily chores,
So once you have fulfilled ˹your duty˺, strive ˹in devotion˺,
Then when you are done, rise,
When your prayers are ended resume your toil,
Whenever possible you shall strive
So, when you are done, get ready for serious devotion,
So, when you are done, get ready for serious devotion,
So if you are finished, so fatigue (In worshiping and supplication).
When you have completed your task resume your toil,
Hence, whenever you are free from the immediate task, embark upon the next strife
So when you are free, nominate
So when thou art free from thy immediate task, strive hard
So when thou art free, exert thyself
Therefore, when you are free (from your immediate duties), continue in your hard wor
Once you have completed your tasks, turn to devotion.
When your work is done, turn to devotion
and be attentive to your Lord.
"So whenever you are free (from your duties), continue to work"
So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]
And when you are at leisure then toil,
Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard
Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب
and turn to your Lord for everything
and turn (your attention) to your Lord.
And Unto thine Lord, attend
And turn to your Lord with all your love
And evaluate your Rabb!
and make your Lord your goal!
and turn eagerly to your Lord
And seek and strive to please your Lord
And to your Lord you do attend (whole-heartedly) and humble yourself before Him
and let thy Lord be thy Quest
And be eager for (and be fond of) your Lord.
… show your gratitude by worshipping your Lord
And turn all of your attention to your Lord
and to your Lord turn wishfully.
and for thy Lord do thou yearn
And incline towards your Lord
And then for your Lord, yearn with love.
and make thy supplication unto thy Lord
And to your Lord turn all your yearning (or attention)
and let your longing be for your Lord (in humility)
And seek thy Lord with fervour
and to your Nourisher-Sustainer, then you (must) get attached
and quest thy Lord.
To your Lord, turn your attention.
and turn all your attention towards your Lord
and turn to your Lord with longing
And make thy Lord thy exclusive object
and turn your attention towards your Fosterer.
And turn to your Lord in complete devotion and submission
And turn to your Lord earnestly
And to your Lord you shall seek
And to your Lord you shall seek
And to your Lord you shall seek.
And to your Lord, so wish/desire
and unto thy Sustainer turn with love
And to your Lord then be desirous (i.e., of His Grace)
And strive to please thy Lord
and be devoted to your Lord's service
and towards your Lord turn with eagerness
And turn eagerly to your Lord.
And strive to please your Lord
And turn eagerly to your Lord.
And make Allah your Creator, the heart of your purpose and the goal of contemplation
seek your Lord passionately in worship.In the name of Allah, the Kind, the Caring</basmala
turning to your Lord ˹alone˺ with hope.
And place your hope in your Lord.
and seek your Lord with all fervour
Seeking only your Lord
and focus all your attention on your Lord.
and focus all your attention on your Lord.
And to your Lord, so be desiring.
and to your Lord turn with love.
And turn all your attention to your Lord. (Remain focused on the Mission entrusted upon you by your Lord)
And make your Lord your exclusive object
And to thy Lord do thou turn with full attention
and let thy desire be for thy Lord
And to your Lord, turn (all) your attention
And to your Lord direct your longing.
And to your Lord turn for everything

And to your Lord direct [your] longing
And to your Lord then make petition.
And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention
And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention
