1 Consequences of Rejection
77:1 ›
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَـٰتِ عُرۡفࣰا ۝١
Mir Aneesuddin
By those sent one after another,
wal-mur'salāti ʿur'fa
77:2 ›
فَٱلۡعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصۡفࣰا ۝٢
Mir Aneesuddin
then the violent winds, blowing violently,
fal-ʿāṣifāti ʿaṣfa
77:3 ›
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَ ٰتِ نَشۡرࣰا ۝٣
Mir Aneesuddin
and those that scatter, scattering,
wal-nāshirāti nashra
77:4 ›
فَٱلۡفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرۡقࣰا ۝٤
Mir Aneesuddin
then those that distinguish, distinguishing (right from wrong),
fal-fāriqāti farqa
77:5 ›
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِیَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۝٥
Mir Aneesuddin
then those that bring down the reminder ,
fal-mul'qiyāti dhik'ra
77:6 ›
عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا ۝٦
Mir Aneesuddin
excusing or warning:
innamā tūʿadūna lawāqiʿu
77:7 ›
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَ ٰقِعࣱ ۝٧
Mir Aneesuddin
That which you are promised will certainly befall.
Innama tooAAadoona lawaqiAAun
77:8 ›
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ ۝٨
Mir Aneesuddin
So when the stars are made to disappear
fa-idhā l-nujūmu ṭumisa
77:9 ›
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ فُرِجَتۡ ۝٩
Mir Aneesuddin
and when the sky is cleft asunder,
wa-idhā l-samāu furija
77:10 ›
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ ۝١٠
Mir Aneesuddin
and when the mountains are uprooted as dust,
wa-idhā l-jibālu nusifa
77:11 ›
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ ۝١١
Mir Aneesuddin
and when the messengers are brought (at their) appointed time.
wa-idhā l-rusulu uqqita
77:12 ›
لِأَیِّ یَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ ۝١٢
Mir Aneesuddin
For which day (is this) timed?
li-ayyi yawmin ujjila
77:13 ›
لِیَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ۝١٣
Mir Aneesuddin
For the day of decision.
liyawmi l-faṣl
77:14 ›
وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا یَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ۝١٤
Mir Aneesuddin
And what will make you realize, what the day of decision is?
wamā adrāka mā yawmu l-faṣl
77:15 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝١٥
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:16 ›
أَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٦
Mir Aneesuddin
Did We not destroy the ancients?
alam nuh'liki l-awalīn
77:17 ›
ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٧
Mir Aneesuddin
Then We made the others to follow them.
thumma nut'biʿuhumu l-ākhirīn
77:18 ›
كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝١٨
Mir Aneesuddin
Thus do We deal with the criminals.
kadhālika nafʿalu bil-muj'rimīn
77:19 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝١٩
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:20 ›
أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاۤءࣲ مَّهِینࣲ ۝٢٠
Mir Aneesuddin
Did We not create you from a fluid (which is) weakened after vigor?
alam nakhluqkkum min māin mahīni
77:21 ›
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ فِی قَرَارࣲ مَّكِینٍ ۝٢١
Mir Aneesuddin
Then We made it to stay in a place
fajaʿalnāhu fī qarārin makīni
77:22 ›
إِلَىٰ قَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝٢٢
Mir Aneesuddin
till (the fulfilment of) the known programme,
ilā qadarin maʿlūmi
77:23 ›
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٢٣
Mir Aneesuddin
thus We programmed, for We are Excellent Programmers.
faqadarnā faniʿ'ma l-qādirūn
77:24 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٢٤
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:25 ›
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا ۝٢٥
Mir Aneesuddin
Did We not make the earth, one that draws together to itself,
alam najʿali l-arḍa kifāta
77:26 ›
أَحۡیَاۤءࣰ وَأَمۡوَ ٰتࣰا ۝٢٦
Mir Aneesuddin
the living and the dead (due to the force of its gravity) ?
aḥyāan wa-amwāta
77:27 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتࣲ وَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُم مَّاۤءࣰ فُرَاتࣰا ۝٢٧
Mir Aneesuddin
And We made therein lofty ranges of mountains and gave you to drink sweet water.
wajaʿalnā fīhā rawāsiya shāmikhātin wa-asqaynākum māan furāta
77:28 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٢٨
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:29 ›
ٱنطَلِقُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢٩
Mir Aneesuddin
(It will be said to them), “Proceed towards that which you used to deny.
inṭaliqū ilā mā kuntum bihi tukadhibūn
77:30 ›
ٱنطَلِقُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلࣲّ ذِی ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبࣲ ۝٣٠
Mir Aneesuddin
Proceed towards the covering having three branches,
inṭaliqū ilā ẓillin dhī thalāthi shuʿabi
77:31 ›
لَّا ظَلِیلࣲ وَلَا یُغۡنِی مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ ۝٣١
Mir Aneesuddin
neither (giving) cool shade nor making one free from the flame,
lā ẓalīlin walā yugh'nī mina l-lahab
77:32 ›
إِنَّهَا تَرۡمِی بِشَرَرࣲ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ ۝٣٢
Mir Aneesuddin
it certainly throws sparks like palaces
innahā tarmī bishararin kal-qaṣr
77:33 ›
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتࣱ صُفۡرࣱ ۝٣٣
Mir Aneesuddin
as if they were yellow camels.”
ka-annahu jimālatun ṣuf'ru
77:34 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٣٤
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:35 ›
هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ لَا یَنطِقُونَ ۝٣٥
Mir Aneesuddin
This is the day (on which) they will not speak.
hādhā yawmu lā yanṭiqūn
77:36 ›
وَلَا یُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَیَعۡتَذِرُونَ ۝٣٦
Mir Aneesuddin
And permission will not be given to them that they may put forth excuses.
walā yu'dhanu lahum fayaʿtadhirūn
77:37 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٣٧
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:38 ›
هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ جَمَعۡنَـٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٣٨
Mir Aneesuddin
This is the day of decision, We have gathered you and the ancients.
hādhā yawmu l-faṣli jamaʿnākum wal-awalīn
77:39 ›
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَیۡدࣱ فَكِیدُونِ ۝٣٩
Mir Aneesuddin
So if there is any plot you have, then do plot against Me.
fa-in kāna lakum kaydun fakīdūn
2 Consequences of Rejection
77:40 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٤٠
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:41 ›
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی ظِلَـٰلࣲ وَعُیُونࣲ ۝٤١
Mir Aneesuddin
Those who had guarded (against evil) will be in shades and springs,
inna l-mutaqīna fī ẓilālin waʿuyūni
77:42 ›
وَفَوَ ٰكِهَ مِمَّا یَشۡتَهُونَ ۝٤٢
Mir Aneesuddin
and fruits which they desire.
wafawākiha mimmā yashtahūn
77:43 ›
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشۡرَبُوا۟ هَنِیۤءَۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٤٣
Mir Aneesuddin
(It will be said), “Eat and drink pleasantly because of that, which you used to do.”
kulū wa-ish'rabū hanīan bimā kuntum taʿmalūn
77:44 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٤٤
Mir Aneesuddin
Thus do We reward the doers of good.
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
77:45 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٤٥
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:46 ›
كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِیلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ ۝٤٦
Mir Aneesuddin
Eat and enjoy yourselves for a while, you are certainly criminals.
kulū watamattaʿū qalīlan innakum muj'rimūn
77:47 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٤٧
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:48 ›
وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُوا۟ لَا یَرۡكَعُونَ ۝٤٨
Mir Aneesuddin
And when it is said to them to bow down, they do not bow down.
wa-idhā qīla lahumu ir'kaʿū lā yarkaʿūn
77:49 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٤٩
Mir Aneesuddin
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers.
waylun yawma-idhin lil'mukadhibīn
77:50 ›
فَبِأَیِّ حَدِیثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٥٠
Mir Aneesuddin
Then in which statement after this, will they believe?
fabi-ayyi ḥadīthin baʿdahu yu'minūn
