يَتَّبِعْ yattabiʿ

خُطُوَٰتِ khuṭuwāti
(the) footsteps Noun
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan Noun
فَإِنَّهُۥ fa-innahu
then indeed, he Prep
يَأْمُرُ yamuru
commands V
بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ bil-faḥshāi
the immorality Noun
وَٱلْمُنكَرِ wal-munkari
and the evil Noun
وَلَوْلَا walawlā
And if not Prep
فَضْلُ faḍlu
(for the) Grace of Allah Noun
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi
(for the) Grace of Allah Noun
عَلَيْكُمْ ʿalaykum
upon you Prep
وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ waraḥmatuhu
and His Mercy Noun
مَا mā
not Prep
زَكَىٰ zakā
(would) have been pure V
مِنكُم minkum
among you Prep
مِّنْ min
anyone Prep
أَحَدٍ aḥadin
anyone Noun
أَبَدًا abadan
ever Noun
وَلَٰكِنَّ walākinna
but Prep
ٱللَّهَ l-laha
Allah Noun
يُزَكِّى yuzakkī
purifies V
مَن man
whom Noun
يَشَآءُ yashāu
He wills V
وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu
And Allah Noun
سَمِيعٌ samīʿun
(is) All-Hearer Noun
عَلِيمٌ ʿalīmun
All-Knower Noun

Believers, do not follow in Satan’s footsteps- if you do so, he will urge you to indecency and evil. If it were not for God’s bounty and mercy towards you, not one of you would ever have attained purity. God purifies whoever He will: God is all hearing, all seeing

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِۚ وَمَن یَتَّبِعۡ خُطُوَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ فَإِنَّهُۥ یَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡفَحۡشَاۤءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِۚ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ مَا زَكَىٰ مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ أَبَدࣰا وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُزَكِّی مَن یَشَاۤءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِیعٌ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٢١

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā tattabiʿū khuṭuwāti l-shayṭāni waman yattabiʿ khuṭuwāti l-shayṭāni fa-innahu yamuru bil-faḥshāi wal-munkari walawlā faḍlu l-lahi ʿalaykum waraḥmatuhu mā zakā minkum min aḥadin abadan walākinna l-laha yuzakkī man yashāu wal-lahu samīʿun ʿalīmu
