Children of Israel, The Israelites 17:73

كَادُوا۟ kādū

لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ layaftinūnaka
tempt you away V
عَنِ ʿani

ٱلَّذِىٓ alladhī

أَوْحَيْنَآ awḥaynā
We revealed V
إِلَيْكَ ilayka
to you Prep
لِتَفْتَرِىَ litaftariya
that you invent V
عَلَيْنَا ʿalaynā
about Us Prep
غَيْرَهُۥ ghayrahu
other (than) it Noun
وَإِذًا wa-idhan
And then Prep
لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ la-ittakhadhūka
surely they would take you V
خَلِيلًا khalīlan
(as) a friend Noun

[Prophet], the disbelievers tried to tempt you away from what We revealed to you, so that you would invent some other revelation and attribute it to Us and then they would have taken you as a friend

وَإِن كَادُوا۟ لَیَفۡتِنُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ لِتَفۡتَرِیَ عَلَیۡنَا غَیۡرَهُۥۖ وَإِذࣰا لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِیلࣰا ۝٧٣

wa-in kādū layaftinūnaka ʿani alladhī awḥaynā ilayka litaftariya ʿalaynā ghayrahu wa-idhan la-ittakhadhūka khalīla
