ٱلْعُمُرُ l-ʿumuru

كُنتَ kunta

ثَاوِيًا thāwiyan
a dweller Noun
فِىٓ fī

أَهْلِ ahli

مَدْيَنَ madyana
(of) Madyan Noun
تَتْلُوا۟ tatlū
reciting V
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim

ءَايَٰتِنَا āyātinā

وَلَٰكِنَّا walākinnā

كُنَّا kunnā

مُرْسِلِينَ mur'silīna

We have brought into being many generations who lived long lives- you did not live among the people of Midian or recite Our Revelation to them- We have always sent messengers to people

وَلَـٰكِنَّاۤ أَنشَأۡنَا قُرُونࣰا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِیࣰا فِیۤ أَهۡلِ مَدۡیَنَ تَتۡلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا وَلَـٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِینَ ۝٤٥

walākinnā anshanā qurūnan fataṭāwala ʿalayhimu l-ʿumuru wamā kunta thāwiyan fī ahli madyana tatlū ʿalayhim āyātinā walākinnā kunnā mur'silīn
