The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:167

تَأَذَّنَ ta-adhana

رَبُّكَ rabbuka

لَيَبْعَثَنَّ layabʿathanna

عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim

إِلَىٰ ilā
till Prep
يَوْمِ yawmi
(the) Day Noun
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection Noun
مَن man
(those) who Noun
يَسُومُهُمْ yasūmuhum
would afflict them V
سُوٓءَ sūa
(with) a grievous Noun
ٱلْعَذَابِ l-ʿadhābi
[the] punishment Noun
إِنَّ inna
Indeed Prep
رَبَّكَ rabbaka
your Lord Noun
لَسَرِيعُ lasarīʿu
(is) surely swift Noun
ٱلْعِقَابِ l-ʿiqābi
(in) the retribution Noun
وَإِنَّهُۥ wa-innahu
but indeed, He Prep
لَغَفُورٌ laghafūrun
(is) surely Oft-Forgiving Noun
رَّحِيمٌ raḥīmun
Most Merciful Noun

And then your Lord declared that, until the Day of Resurrection, He would send people against them to inflict terrible suffering on them. Your Lord is swift in punishment but He is most forgiving and merciful

وَإِذۡ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَیَبۡعَثَنَّ عَلَیۡهِمۡ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ مَن یَسُومُهُمۡ سُوۤءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِیعُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورࣱ رَّحِیمࣱ ۝١٦٧

wa-idh ta-adhana rabbuka layabʿathanna ʿalayhim ilā yawmi l-qiyāmati man yasūmuhum sūa l-ʿadhābi inna rabbaka lasarīʿu l-ʿiqābi wa-innahu laghafūrun raḥīmu
