1 The Daybreak

وَالْفَجْرِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and by the ten nights

Walayalin AAashrin

وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and by the even and the odd

WaalshshafAAi waalwatri

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and by the night when it goes away.

Waallayli itha yasri

هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ

Bakhtiari Nejad

Is there an oath in that for one who has understanding?

Hal fee thalika qasamun lithee hijrin

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

Bakhtiari Nejad

Have you not considered what your Lord did with Aad

Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biAAadin

إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

(people of) Iram (a city) with pillars

Irama thati alAAimadi

الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

the like of which was not created in the lands,

Allatee lam yukhlaq mithluha fee albiladi

وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and Thamud, those who carved out the rocks in the valley,

Wathamooda allatheena jaboo alssakhra bialwadi

وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and Pharaoh having the stakes (pyramids)?

WafirAAawna thee al-awtadi

الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

Those who rebelled in the lands

Allatheena taghaw fee albiladi

فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and increased the corruption in it,

Faaktharoo feeha alfasada

فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ

Bakhtiari Nejad

so, your Lord unleashed the whip of punishment on them.

Fasabba AAalayhim rabbuka sawta AAathabin

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed, your Lord is on the watch.

Inna rabbaka labialmirsadi

فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

As for the human being, when his Lord tests him and honors him and favors him, then he says: “My Lord honored me.”

Faamma al-insanu itha ma ibtalahu rabbuhu faakramahu wanaAAAAamahu fayaqoolu rabbee akramani

وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

But when his Lord tests him and decreases his provision for him, then he says: “My Lord dishonored me.”

Waamma itha ma ibtalahu faqadara AAalayhi rizqahu fayaqoolu rabbee ahanani

كَلَّا بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ

Bakhtiari Nejad

No way, but you do not respect the orphan,

Kalla bal la tukrimoona alyateema

وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and you do not encourage one another about feeding the poor,

Wala tahaddoona AAala taAAami almiskeeni

وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا

Bakhtiari Nejad

and you eat up the inheritance, eating up altogether,

Wata/kuloona altturatha aklan lamman

وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا

Bakhtiari Nejad

and you love the wealth, a great deal of love.

Watuhibboona almala hubban jamman

كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا

Bakhtiari Nejad

No way, when the earth is pounded, crushed and leveled,

Kalla itha dukkati al-ardu dakkan dakkan

وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا

Bakhtiari Nejad

and your Lord comes, and the angels (come) row by row,

Wajaa rabbuka waalmalaku saffan saffan

وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and on that day hell is brought, on that day human being will take notice, but what (use) does the notice have for him?

Wajee-a yawma-ithin bijahannama yawma-ithin yatathakkaru al-insanu waanna lahu alththikra

يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي

Bakhtiari Nejad

He says: “I wish I had sent ahead (something) for my (new) life.”

Yaqoolu ya laytanee qaddamtu lihayatee

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, on that day no one punishes as He punishes,

Fayawma-ithin la yuAAaththibu AAathabahu ahadun

وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ

Bakhtiari Nejad

and no one ties up as He ties up.

Wala yoothiqu wathaqahu ahadun

يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ

Bakhtiari Nejad

You, the reassured (and restful) soul,

Ya ayyatuha alnnafsu almutma-innatu

ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً

Bakhtiari Nejad

return to your Lord, pleased (with Him) and pleasing (to Him),

IrjiAAee ila rabbiki radiyatan mardiyyatan

فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي

Bakhtiari Nejad

so, enter among My servants

Faodkhulee fee AAibadee

وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي

Bakhtiari Nejad

and enter My garden.

Waodkhulee jannatee
