یُنَادُونَهُمۡ أَلَمۡ نَكُن مَّعَكُمۡۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمۡ فَتَنتُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَتَرَبَّصۡتُمۡ وَٱرۡتَبۡتُمۡ وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡأَمَانِیُّ حَتَّىٰ جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ ۝١٤
yunādūnahum alam nakun maʿakum qālū balā walākinnakum fatantum anfusakum watarabbaṣtum wa-ir'tabtum wagharratkumu l-amāniyu ḥattā jāa amru l-lahi wagharrakum bil-lahi l-gharūr
Abdel Haleem: The hypocrites will call out to the believers, ‘Were we not with you?’ They will reply, ‘Yes. But you allowed yourselves to be tempted, you were hesitant, doubtful, deceived by false hopes until God’s command came- the Deceiver tricked you about God
