The Star — Bakhtiari Nejad Translation – Parallel Quran

1 Eminence attained by the Prophet

وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ۝١

Bakhtiari Nejad

By the star when it falls down (or goes down),

wal-najmi idhā haw

مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ۝٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

your companion is not misguided, and he was not deceived.

mā ḍalla ṣāḥibukum wamā ghaw

وَمَا یَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰۤ ۝٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And he does not speak from (his own) desire.

wamā yanṭiqu ʿani l-haw

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡیࣱ یُوحَىٰ ۝٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

It (Quran) is only a revelation (from God) that is revealed (to him),

in huwa illā waḥyun yūḥ

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ ۝٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

taught to him by the very powerful (Gabriel),

dhū mirratin fa-is'taw

ذُو مِرَّةࣲ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ ۝٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

being strong (and competent), he stood straight,

Thoo mirratin faistawa

وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ ۝٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

while he was on the highest horizon,

wahuwa bil-ufuqi l-aʿl

ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ۝٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

then he came closer, and he came down

thumma danā fatadall

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَیۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ ۝٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

until he was at a distance of two bows or closer,

fakāna qāba qawsayni aw adn

فَأَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَاۤ أَوۡحَىٰ ۝١٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

then he revealed to His servant what he revealed.

fa-awḥā ilā ʿabdihi mā awḥ

مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰۤ ۝١١

Bakhtiari Nejad

His (the prophet’s) heart/mind did not deny what he saw.

mā kadhaba l-fuādu mā ra

أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا یَرَىٰ ۝١٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

Do you argue with him about what he saw?

afatumārūnahu ʿalā mā yar

وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ ۝١٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And he has certainly seen him in another descent,

walaqad raāhu nazlatan ukh'r

عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ۝١٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

by the Lote (Sidra) tree at the utmost boundary,

idh yaghshā l-sid'rata mā yaghsh

عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰۤ ۝١٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

the garden of (eternal) housing is near it.

AAindaha jannatu alma/wa

إِذۡ یَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا یَغۡشَىٰ ۝١٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

When the Lote (Sidra) tree was covered by what covers,

Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha

مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ۝١٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

the eyes (of Muhammad) did not turn aside and did not outreach.

mā zāgha l-baṣaru wamā ṭagh

لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰۤ ۝١٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

He has certainly seen some of the great signs of His Lord.

laqad raā min āyāti rabbihi l-kub'r

أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ ۝١٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

What do you think of the Lat, the Uzza

afara-aytumu l-lāta wal-ʿuz

وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ ۝٢٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

and Manat, the third, the other one (of them)?

wamanata l-thālithata l-ukh'r

أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٢١

Bakhtiari Nejad

Are the males for you and females for Him?

alakumu l-dhakaru walahu l-unth

تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا قِسۡمَةࣱ ضِیزَىٰۤ ۝٢٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

That is an unfair division.

til'ka idhan qis'matun ḍīz

إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّاۤ أَسۡمَاۤءࣱ سَمَّیۡتُمُوهَاۤ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُم مَّاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَـٰنٍۚ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ ۝٢٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

They are only names which you and your fathers named them, whereas God did not send down any reason for that. They only follow guess (and speculation) and what the souls desire, while the guidance has certainly come to them from their Lord.

in hiya illā asmāon sammaytumūhā antum waābāukum mā anzala l-lahu bihā min sul'ṭānin in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓana wamā tahwā l-anfusu walaqad jāahum min rabbihimu l-hud

أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ ۝٢٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

Or does human being have whatever he desires?

am lil'insāni mā tamann

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ۝٢٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

While the last (the Hereafter) and the first (this world) belongs to God.

falillahi l-ākhiratu wal-ūl

2 Nothing avails against Truth

۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِی شَفَـٰعَتُهُمۡ شَیۡءًا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن یَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَرۡضَىٰۤ ۝٢٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

And many angels are in the skies, that their mediation is of no benefit at all except after God gives permission for whom He wants and He approves.

wakam min malakin fī l-samāwāti lā tugh'nī shafāʿatuhum shayan illā min baʿdi an yadhana l-lahu liman yashāu wayarḍ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ لَیُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ تَسۡمِیَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٢٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter shall name the angels the feminine names,

inna alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati layusammūna l-malāikata tasmiyata l-unth

وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا یُغۡنِی مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَیۡءࣰا ۝٢٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

while they have no knowledge of that. They only follow guesswork, and guess is of no use against the truth at all.

wamā lahum bihi min ʿil'min in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓana wa-inna l-ẓana lā yugh'nī mina l-ḥaqi shaya

فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ یُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا ۝٢٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, stay away from anyone who turns away from Our reminder and only wants this world’s life.

fa-aʿriḍ ʿan man tawallā ʿan dhik'rinā walam yurid illā l-ḥayata l-dun'y

ذَ ٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ ۝٣٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

That is the extent of their knowledge. Indeed, your Lord knows better anyone who lost His way and He knows better anyone who is guided.

dhālika mablaghuhum mina l-ʿil'mi inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu biman ḍalla ʿan sabīlihi wahuwa aʿlamu bimani ih'tad

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسَـٰۤءُوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى ۝٣١

Bakhtiari Nejad

And everything in the skies and everything on the earth belongs to God, so that He penalizes those who did bad according to what they did and to reward those who did good with the better (reward than what they did),

walillahi mā fī l-samāwāti wamā fī l-arḍi liyajziya alladhīna asāū bimā ʿamilū wayajziya alladhīna aḥsanū bil-ḥus'n

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰۤىِٕرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَ ٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَ ٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةࣱ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۤ ۝٣٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

those who avoid the big sins and the indecencies except the small ones. Your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He knows best about you, when He produced you from the earth and when you were hidden (as embryos) in your mothers’ wombs. So, do not claim yourselves pure (and innocent), as He knows better who is cautious (of God).

alladhīna yajtanibūna kabāira l-ith'mi wal-fawāḥisha illā l-lamama inna rabbaka wāsiʿu l-maghfirati huwa aʿlamu bikum idh ansha-akum mina l-arḍi wa-idh antum ajinnatun fī buṭūni ummahātikum falā tuzakkū anfusakum huwa aʿlamu bimani ittaq

3 Allah's Power manifested

أَفَرَءَیۡتَ ٱلَّذِی تَوَلَّىٰ ۝٣٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

Did you see the one who turned away

afara-ayta alladhī tawall

وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِیلࣰا وَأَكۡدَىٰۤ ۝٣٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

and gave a little and was stingy?

wa-aʿṭā qalīlan wa-akd

أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ فَهُوَ یَرَىٰۤ ۝٣٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees (what happens)?

aʿindahu ʿil'mu l-ghaybi fahuwa yar

أَمۡ لَمۡ یُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِی صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ ۝٣٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

Or was he not informed of what is in scriptures of Moses,

am lam yunabba bimā fī ṣuḥufi mūs

وَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ٱلَّذِی وَفَّىٰۤ ۝٣٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

and Abraham, the one who fulfilled (his duties)?

wa-ib'rāhīma alladhī waff

أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ ۝٣٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

That no bearer bears burden of another,

allā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'r

وَأَن لَّیۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ۝٣٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

and that there is not (any reward) for human being except what he has worked for.

wa-an laysa lil'insāni illā mā saʿ

وَأَنَّ سَعۡیَهُۥ سَوۡفَ یُرَىٰ ۝٤٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that his efforts will be seen,

wa-anna saʿyahu sawfa yur

ثُمَّ یُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَاۤءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ ۝٤١

Bakhtiari Nejad

then he is rewarded with full reward.

thumma yuj'zāhu l-jazāa l-awf

وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ۝٤٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that the final ending is to your Lord.

wa-anna ilā rabbika l-muntah

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ ۝٤٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He is he who makes (everyone) laugh and cry.

wa-annahu huwa aḍḥaka wa-abk

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡیَا ۝٤٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He is he who causes death and gives life.

wa-annahu huwa amāta wa-aḥy

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَیۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٤٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He created the two types, the male and the female,

wa-annahu khalaqa l-zawjayni l-dhakara wal-unth

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ ۝٤٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

from sperm when it is ejected.

min nuṭ'fatin idhā tum'n

وَأَنَّ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ ۝٤٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that the other creation (resurrection) is His responsibility.

wa-anna ʿalayhi l-nashata l-ukh'r

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ ۝٤٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He is he who makes rich and makes poor (or gives property).

wa-annahu huwa aghnā wa-aqn

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ ۝٤٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He is the Lord of Sirius (the brightest star at night).

wa-annahu huwa rabbu l-shiʿ'r

وَأَنَّهُۥۤ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ۝٥٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And that He has destroyed the earlier Aad

wa-annahu ahlaka ʿādan l-ūl

وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَاۤ أَبۡقَىٰ ۝٥١

Bakhtiari Nejad

and Thamud, and He did not leave (anyone alive).

wathamūdā famā abq

وَقَوۡمَ نُوحࣲ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ ۝٥٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And (He destroyed) people of Noah before (them), indeed they were more wrongdoer and more rebellious.

waqawma nūḥin min qablu innahum kānū hum aẓlama wa-aṭgh

وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ ۝٥٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And He overthrew the overturned cities,

wal-mu'tafikata ahw

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ۝٥٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

and it was covered by what covers.

faghashāhā mā ghash

فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ۝٥٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, which of your Lord's favors do you doubt?

fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbika tatamār

هَـٰذَا نَذِیرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۤ ۝٥٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

This is a warner like the previous warners.

hādhā nadhīrun mina l-nudhuri l-ūl

أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡءَازِفَةُ ۝٥٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

The upcoming (Judgment Day) is coming up.

azifati l-āzifat

لَیۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ۝٥٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

No one other than God can expose it.

laysa lahā min dūni l-lahi kāshifatu

أَفَمِنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ ۝٥٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

Are you surprised by this saying,

afamin hādhā l-ḥadīthi taʿjabūn

وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ۝٦٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

and you laugh (at it), and you do not cry

wataḍḥakūna walā tabkūn

وَأَنتُمۡ سَـٰمِدُونَ ۝٦١

Bakhtiari Nejad

while you are negligent?

wa-antum sāmidūn

فَ̅ٱ̅سۡ̅جُ̅دُ̅و̅ا۟̅ لِلَّهِ وَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ۝٦٢ ۩

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, show humbleness to God and serve Him.

fa-us'judū lillahi wa-uʿ'bud
