The Star — Munirmezyed2023 Translation – Parallel Quran

1 Eminence attained by the Prophet

وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ۝١

MunirMezyed2023

I swear by the star when it falls (or dies):

wal-najmi idhā haw

مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ۝٢

MunirMezyed2023

Your companion has not deviated from the path the truth, nor is he deluded,

mā ḍalla ṣāḥibukum wamā ghaw

وَمَا یَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰۤ ۝٣

MunirMezyed2023

Nor does he speak of his own fantasy.

wamā yanṭiqu ʿani l-haw

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡیࣱ یُوحَىٰ ۝٤

MunirMezyed2023

This Qur’ān is only Revelation Knowledge revealed to him .

in huwa illā waḥyun yūḥ

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ ۝٥

It is taught to him by one who is endowed with mighty power,

dhū mirratin fa-is'taw

ذُو مِرَّةࣲ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ ۝٦

MunirMezyed2023

Beauty, sturdiness and wisdom. He grew clear to view

Thoo mirratin faistawa

وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ ۝٧

When he was in the highest part of the horizon.

wahuwa bil-ufuqi l-aʿl

ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ۝٨

MunirMezyed2023

Then he approached and came down.

thumma danā fatadall

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَیۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ ۝٩

MunirMezyed2023

He was as close to (Muhammad) as the distance of two bows or even less.

fakāna qāba qawsayni aw adn

فَأَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَاۤ أَوۡحَىٰ ۝١٠

MunirMezyed2023

So did (Allâh) reveal to His servant (Muhammad) what was to be revealed (through the Archangel Gabriel).

fa-awḥā ilā ʿabdihi mā awḥ

مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰۤ ۝١١

MunirMezyed2023

His heart has not deluded him in seeing what he saw.

mā kadhaba l-fuādu mā ra

أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا یَرَىٰ ۝١٢

MunirMezyed2023

Will you then dispute with him over what he saw?

afatumārūnahu ʿalā mā yar

وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ ۝١٣

MunirMezyed2023

Most surely he saw Him in another descent,

walaqad raāhu nazlatan ukh'r

عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ۝١٤

MunirMezyed2023

Near Sidrat al-Muntahā,

idh yaghshā l-sid'rata mā yaghsh

عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰۤ ۝١٥

MunirMezyed2023

Near which is the Garden of eternal abode,

AAindaha jannatu alma/wa

إِذۡ یَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا یَغۡشَىٰ ۝١٦

MunirMezyed2023

When Sidrat al-Muntahā was covered with that which covers.

Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha

مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ۝١٧

MunirMezyed2023

(His) sight deviated not, neither did it transgress.

mā zāgha l-baṣaru wamā ṭagh

لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰۤ ۝١٨

MunirMezyed2023

Verily he did see (some) of the Greatest Signs of his Lord.

laqad raā min āyāti rabbihi l-kub'r

أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ ۝١٩

MunirMezyed2023

Have you then thought carefully about Lât and ’Uzza,

afara-aytumu l-lāta wal-ʿuz

وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ ۝٢٠

And the third one, Manât, as well?

wamanata l-thālithata l-ukh'r

أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٢١

MunirMezyed2023

What! For you the males, and for Him, the females?

alakumu l-dhakaru walahu l-unth

تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا قِسۡمَةࣱ ضِیزَىٰۤ ۝٢٢

MunirMezyed2023

This indeed is an iniquitous division!

til'ka idhan qis'matun ḍīz

إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّاۤ أَسۡمَاۤءࣱ سَمَّیۡتُمُوهَاۤ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُم مَّاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَـٰنٍۚ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ ۝٢٣

MunirMezyed2023

They are just a mere illusion which you and your forefathers have created- a belief Allâh has not authorized. They follow nothing but speculation and their whims although their Lord has already given them the True Source of Spiritual Enlightenment.

in hiya illā asmāon sammaytumūhā antum waābāukum mā anzala l-lahu bihā min sul'ṭānin in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓana wamā tahwā l-anfusu walaqad jāahum min rabbihimu l-hud

أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ ۝٢٤

MunirMezyed2023

Or shall man have what he desires?

am lil'insāni mā tamann

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ۝٢٥

MunirMezyed2023

But to Allâh belongs the End and the Beginning (of all things).

falillahi l-ākhiratu wal-ūl

2 Nothing avails against Truth

۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِی شَفَـٰعَتُهُمۡ شَیۡءًا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن یَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَرۡضَىٰۤ ۝٢٦

MunirMezyed2023

So many Angels are in the heavens whose intercession avails nothing except after Allâh gives permission to whom He wills and with whom He is pleased.

wakam min malakin fī l-samāwāti lā tugh'nī shafāʿatuhum shayan illā min baʿdi an yadhana l-lahu liman yashāu wayarḍ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ لَیُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ تَسۡمِیَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٢٧

MunirMezyed2023

Indeed, those who have no Faith in the Hereafter named the Angels with female names.

inna alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati layusammūna l-malāikata tasmiyata l-unth

وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا یُغۡنِی مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَیۡءࣰا ۝٢٨

MunirMezyed2023

They have no knowledge of it. They follow nothing but speculation. Indeed, speculation avails nothing against the Truth.

wamā lahum bihi min ʿil'min in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓana wa-inna l-ẓana lā yugh'nī mina l-ḥaqi shaya

فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ یُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا ۝٢٩

MunirMezyed2023

Now, therefore, shun the one who turns away from celebrating Our praise and declaring Our glory, and who desires nothing but this worldly life.

fa-aʿriḍ ʿan man tawallā ʿan dhik'rinā walam yurid illā l-ḥayata l-dun'y

ذَ ٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ ۝٣٠

MunirMezyed2023

The desire of this worldly life is the full extent of their knowledge. Verily, your Lord has full knowledge of those who have been deceived into going away from His path. And He already knows those who walk on the right path to salvation.

dhālika mablaghuhum mina l-ʿil'mi inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu biman ḍalla ʿan sabīlihi wahuwa aʿlamu bimani ih'tad

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسَـٰۤءُوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى ۝٣١

MunirMezyed2023

To Allâh belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth. He will chastise those who commit evil deeds with (the penalty of) what they have done, and reward those who strive to do virtuous acts with the best reward, (Al-Jannah).

walillahi mā fī l-samāwāti wamā fī l-arḍi liyajziya alladhīna asāū bimā ʿamilū wayajziya alladhīna aḥsanū bil-ḥus'n

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰۤىِٕرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَ ٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَ ٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةࣱ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۤ ۝٣٢

MunirMezyed2023

Those who avoid by all means committing the great sins and abominations except for minor offenses (let them be sure that) your Lord is extremely vast in Forgiveness. He knows best about you when He initiated you from the earth, and when you were embryos in the wombs of your mothers. Now, therefore, ascribe no purity to yourselves. He knows best the one who acts piously.

alladhīna yajtanibūna kabāira l-ith'mi wal-fawāḥisha illā l-lamama inna rabbaka wāsiʿu l-maghfirati huwa aʿlamu bikum idh ansha-akum mina l-arḍi wa-idh antum ajinnatun fī buṭūni ummahātikum falā tuzakkū anfusakum huwa aʿlamu bimani ittaq

3 Allah's Power manifested

أَفَرَءَیۡتَ ٱلَّذِی تَوَلَّىٰ ۝٣٣

MunirMezyed2023

Have you then seen the one who fell away from the faith?

afara-ayta alladhī tawall

وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِیلࣰا وَأَكۡدَىٰۤ ۝٣٤

MunirMezyed2023

He gave a little, then he refused to give.

wa-aʿṭā qalīlan wa-akd

أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ فَهُوَ یَرَىٰۤ ۝٣٥

MunirMezyed2023

Does he have the knowledge of unseen, and so he is capable of catching sight of all things?

aʿindahu ʿil'mu l-ghaybi fahuwa yar

أَمۡ لَمۡ یُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِی صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ ۝٣٦

Or has he not been informed of what is in the Scriptures of Moses

am lam yunabba bimā fī ṣuḥufi mūs

وَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ٱلَّذِی وَفَّىٰۤ ۝٣٧

MunirMezyed2023

And of Abraham who fulfilled (his function of promulgating the Message of God)?

wa-ib'rāhīma alladhī waff

أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ ۝٣٨

MunirMezyed2023

No One will ever bear the responsibility of the sins of another.

allā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'r

وَأَن لَّیۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ۝٣٩

MunirMezyed2023

Man will have only what he (seriously) strives for.

wa-an laysa lil'insāni illā mā saʿ

وَأَنَّ سَعۡیَهُۥ سَوۡفَ یُرَىٰ ۝٤٠

MunirMezyed2023

Surely (the fruit of) his struggle will be seen.

wa-anna saʿyahu sawfa yur

ثُمَّ یُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَاۤءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ ۝٤١

MunirMezyed2023

Then he will be rewarded for it with the fullest reward.

thumma yuj'zāhu l-jazāa l-awf

وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ۝٤٢

MunirMezyed2023

And that the ultimate end is to your Lord .

wa-anna ilā rabbika l-muntah

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ ۝٤٣

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the One Who makes (whom He wills) laugh or cry.

wa-annahu huwa aḍḥaka wa-abk

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡیَا ۝٤٤

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the One Who causes death and gives life.

wa-annahu huwa amāta wa-aḥy

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَیۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ۝٤٥

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the One Who creates the pairs, male and female,

wa-annahu khalaqa l-zawjayni l-dhakara wal-unth

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ ۝٤٦

MunirMezyed2023

From a drop of sperm when it is emitted.

min nuṭ'fatin idhā tum'n

وَأَنَّ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ ۝٤٧

MunirMezyed2023

It is incumbent on Him to bring forth the second creation- (the Resurrection).

wa-anna ʿalayhi l-nashata l-ukh'r

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ ۝٤٨

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the One Who enriches and provides relief.

wa-annahu huwa aghnā wa-aqn

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ ۝٤٩

MunirMezyed2023

And He is the Lord of Sirius.

wa-annahu huwa rabbu l-shiʿ'r

وَأَنَّهُۥۤ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ۝٥٠

MunirMezyed2023

He is the One Who destroyed the ancient ‘Ād

wa-annahu ahlaka ʿādan l-ūl

وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَاۤ أَبۡقَىٰ ۝٥١

MunirMezyed2023

And Thamūd. He spared none of them.

wathamūdā famā abq

وَقَوۡمَ نُوحࣲ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ ۝٥٢

MunirMezyed2023

(He also destroyed) the folk of Noah before them. They were more transgressors and more rebellious.

waqawma nūḥin min qablu innahum kānū hum aẓlama wa-aṭgh

وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ ۝٥٣

MunirMezyed2023

He overthrew the subverted cities (of Sodom & Gomorrah).

wal-mu'tafikata ahw

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ۝٥٤

MunirMezyed2023

So they were covered with that which covers.

faghashāhā mā ghash

فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ۝٥٥

MunirMezyed2023

Which then, of the marvels of your Lord, will you doubt?

fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbika tatamār

هَـٰذَا نَذِیرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۤ ۝٥٦

Now take this as a serious warning like that of the ancient warnings.

hādhā nadhīrun mina l-nudhuri l-ūl

أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡءَازِفَةُ ۝٥٧

MunirMezyed2023

The approaching day, (Last Judgment), has become imminent.

azifati l-āzifat

لَیۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ۝٥٨

MunirMezyed2023

No one besides Allâh can disclose it.

laysa lahā min dūni l-lahi kāshifatu

أَفَمِنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ ۝٥٩

MunirMezyed2023

Do you then wonder at this discourse

afamin hādhā l-ḥadīthi taʿjabūn

وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ۝٦٠

MunirMezyed2023

And poke fun at it instead of weeping,

wataḍḥakūna walā tabkūn

وَأَنتُمۡ سَـٰمِدُونَ ۝٦١

MunirMezyed2023

While you are indulging in fun and amusement?

wa-antum sāmidūn

فَ̅ٱ̅سۡ̅جُ̅دُ̅و̅ا۟̅ لِلَّهِ وَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ۝٦٢ ۩

Now, therefore, bow down in prostration to Allâh, worship Him (in the way He wants you to worship Him).

fa-us'judū lillahi wa-uʿ'bud
