The Forgiver, The Forgiving One 40:22

فَكَفَرُوا۟ fakafarū
but they disbelieved V
فَأَخَذَهُمُ fa-akhadhahumu
So Allah seized them V
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu
So Allah seized them Noun
إِنَّهُۥ innahu
Indeed, He Prep
قَوِىٌّ qawiyyun
(is) All-Strong Noun
شَدِيدُ shadīdu
severe Noun
ٱلْعِقَابِ l-ʿiqābi
(in) punishment Noun

because messengers repeatedly came to them with clear signs and still they rejected them. God destroyed them: He is truly full of strength, severe in punishment

ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَانَت تَّأۡتِیهِمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ فَكَفَرُوا۟ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِیࣱّ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٢٢

dhālika bi-annahum kānat tatīhim rusuluhum bil-bayināti fakafarū fa-akhadhahumu l-lahu innahu qawiyyun shadīdu l-ʿiqāb
