1 Success of the Faithful
23:1 ›
۞ قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝١
Muhammad Sarwar
Triumphant indeed are the believers
qad aflaḥa l-mu'minūn
23:2 ›
ٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ فِی صَلَاتِهِمۡ خَـٰشِعُونَ ۝٢
Muhammad Sarwar
who are submissive to God in their prayers
alladhīna hum fī ṣalātihim khāshiʿūn
23:3 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ عَنِ ٱللَّغۡوِ مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣
Muhammad Sarwar
who avoid impious talks
wa-alladhīna hum ʿani l-laghwi muʿ'riḍūn
23:4 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ ۝٤
Muhammad Sarwar
pay their religious ta
wa-alladhīna hum lilzzakati fāʿilūn
23:5 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ حَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٥
Muhammad Sarwar
and restrain their carnal desire
wa-alladhīna hum lifurūjihim ḥāfiẓūn
23:6 ›
إِلَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَیۡرُ مَلُومِینَ ۝٦
Muhammad Sarwar
except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them
illā ʿalā azwājihim aw mā malakat aymānuhum fa-innahum ghayru malūmīn
23:7 ›
فَمَنِ ٱبۡتَغَىٰ وَرَاۤءَ ذَ ٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡعَادُونَ ۝٧
Muhammad Sarwar
Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression
famani ib'taghā warāa dhālika fa-ulāika humu l-ʿādūn
23:8 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَ ٰعُونَ ۝٨
Muhammad Sarwar
those who are true to their trust
wa-alladhīna hum li-amānātihim waʿahdihim rāʿūn
23:9 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَ ٰتِهِمۡ یُحَافِظُونَ ۝٩
Muhammad Sarwar
to their promise
wa-alladhīna hum ʿalā ṣalawātihim yuḥāfiẓūn
23:10 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ ۝١٠
Muhammad Sarwar
and who are steadfast in their prayer
ulāika humu l-wārithūn
23:11 ›
ٱلَّذِینَ یَرِثُونَ ٱلۡفِرۡدَوۡسَ هُمۡ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١١
Muhammad Sarwar
These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever
alladhīna yarithūna l-fir'dawsa hum fīhā khālidūn
23:12 ›
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةࣲ مِّن طِینࣲ ۝١٢
Muhammad Sarwar
We have created the human being from an extract of cla
walaqad khalaqnā l-insāna min sulālatin min ṭīni
23:13 ›
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ نُطۡفَةࣰ فِی قَرَارࣲ مَّكِینࣲ ۝١٣
Muhammad Sarwar
which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository
thumma jaʿalnāhu nuṭ'fatan fī qarārin makīni
23:14 ›
ثُمَّ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلنُّطۡفَةَ عَلَقَةࣰ فَخَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡعَلَقَةَ مُضۡغَةࣰ فَخَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمُضۡغَةَ عِظَـٰمࣰا فَكَسَوۡنَا ٱلۡعِظَـٰمَ لَحۡمࣰا ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَـٰهُ خَلۡقًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِینَ ۝١٤
Muhammad Sarwar
The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator
thumma khalaqnā l-nuṭ'fata ʿalaqatan fakhalaqnā l-ʿalaqata muḍ'ghatan fakhalaqnā l-muḍ'ghata ʿiẓāman fakasawnā l-ʿiẓāma laḥman thumma anshanāhu khalqan ākhara fatabāraka l-lahu aḥsanu l-khāliqīn
23:15 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعۡدَ ذَ ٰلِكَ لَمَیِّتُونَ ۝١٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Thereafter you will certainly di
thumma innakum baʿda dhālika lamayyitūn
23:16 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ تُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٦
Muhammad Sarwar
and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection
thumma innakum yawma l-qiyāmati tub'ʿathūn
23:17 ›
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعَ طَرَاۤىِٕقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلۡخَلۡقِ غَـٰفِلِینَ ۝١٧
Muhammad Sarwar
We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation
walaqad khalaqnā fawqakum sabʿa ṭarāiqa wamā kunnā ʿani l-khalqi ghāfilīn
23:18 ›
وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءَۢ بِقَدَرࣲ فَأَسۡكَنَّـٰهُ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابِۭ بِهِۦ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝١٨
Muhammad Sarwar
We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away
wa-anzalnā mina l-samāi māan biqadarin fa-askannāhu fī l-arḍi wa-innā ʿalā dhahābin bihi laqādirūn
23:19 ›
فَأَنشَأۡنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتࣲ مِّن نَّخِیلࣲ وَأَعۡنَـٰبࣲ لَّكُمۡ فِیهَا فَوَ ٰكِهُ كَثِیرَةࣱ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝١٩
Muhammad Sarwar
We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume
fa-anshanā lakum bihi jannātin min nakhīlin wa-aʿnābin lakum fīhā fawākihu kathīratun wamin'hā takulūn
23:20 ›
وَشَجَرَةࣰ تَخۡرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَیۡنَاۤءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهۡنِ وَصِبۡغࣲ لِّلۡءَاكِلِینَ ۝٢٠
Muhammad Sarwar
We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it
washajaratan takhruju min ṭūri saynāa tanbutu bil-duh'ni waṣib'ghin lil'ākilīn
23:21 ›
وَإِنَّ لَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ لَعِبۡرَةࣰۖ نُّسۡقِیكُم مِّمَّا فِی بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ كَثِیرَةࣱ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝٢١
Muhammad Sarwar
There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat
wa-inna lakum fī l-anʿāmi laʿib'ratan nus'qīkum mimmā fī buṭūnihā walakum fīhā manāfiʿu kathīratun wamin'hā takulūn
23:22 ›
وَعَلَیۡهَا وَعَلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ تُحۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٢
Muhammad Sarwar
You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea
waʿalayhā waʿalā l-ful'ki tuḥ'malūn
2 Noah
23:23 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فَقَالَ یَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرُهُۥۤۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٢٣
Muhammad Sarwar
We sent Noah to his people who said, "My people, worship God for He is your only Lord. Will you then not have fear of Him?"
walaqad arsalnā nūḥan ilā qawmihi faqāla yāqawmi uʿ'budū l-laha mā lakum min ilāhin ghayruhu afalā tattaqūn
23:24 ›
فَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ یُرِیدُ أَن یَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةࣰ مَّا سَمِعۡنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِیۤ ءَابَاۤىِٕنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٢٤
Muhammad Sarwar
The chiefs of the unbelievers said to the others, "He is a mere mortal like you. He wants only to be superior to you. Had God wanted He would have sent the angels (instead of him). We have never heard from our fathers anything like what he says
faqāla l-mala-u alladhīna kafarū min qawmihi mā hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum yurīdu an yatafaḍḍala ʿalaykum walaw shāa l-lahu la-anzala malāikatan mā samiʿ'nā bihādhā fī ābāinā l-awalīn
23:25 ›
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلُۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةࣱ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝٢٥
Muhammad Sarwar
He is only an insane person. Wait for some time. Perhaps he will come to his senses."
in huwa illā rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbaṣū bihi ḥattā ḥīni
23:26 ›
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرۡنِی بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٢٦
Muhammad Sarwar
Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar"
qāla rabbi unṣur'nī bimā kadhabūn
23:27 ›
فَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنِ ٱصۡنَعِ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ بِأَعۡیُنِنَا وَوَحۡیِنَا فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسۡلُكۡ فِیهَا مِن كُلࣲّ زَوۡجَیۡنِ ٱثۡنَیۡنِ وَأَهۡلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبۡنِی فِی ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوۤا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغۡرَقُونَ ۝٢٧
Muhammad Sarwar
We inspired him, saying, "Build the Ark before Our eyes and by the instruction of Our revelation. When our decree comes to pass and water comes forth from the Oven, embark in the Ark with a pair of every kind of animals and your family except those already doomed (to perish). Do not plead with Me for the unjust; they will be drowned."
fa-awḥaynā ilayhi ani iṣ'naʿi l-ful'ka bi-aʿyuninā wawaḥyinā fa-idhā jāa amrunā wafāra l-tanūru fa-us'luk fīhā min kullin zawjayni ith'nayni wa-ahlaka illā man sabaqa ʿalayhi l-qawlu min'hum walā tukhāṭib'nī fī alladhīna ẓalamū innahum mugh'raqūn
23:28 ›
فَإِذَا ٱسۡتَوَیۡتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ فَقُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِی نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٨
Muhammad Sarwar
When all of you settle in the Ark, say, "Only God Who has saved us from the unjust people deserves all praise"
fa-idhā is'tawayta anta waman maʿaka ʿalā l-ful'ki faquli l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī najjānā mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:29 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلۡنِی مُنزَلࣰا مُّبَارَكࣰا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡمُنزِلِینَ ۝٢٩
Muhammad Sarwar
Say, "Lord, grant us a blessed landing from the Ark; You are the One who provides the safest landing"
waqul rabbi anzil'nī munzalan mubārakan wa-anta khayru l-munzilīn
23:30 ›
إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبۡتَلِینَ ۝٣٠
Muhammad Sarwar
In this story there is enough evidence (of the Truth); thus do We try (mankind
inna fī dhālika laāyātin wa-in kunnā lamub'talīn
23:31 ›
ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ قَرۡنًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝٣١
Muhammad Sarwar
We brought another generation into existence after the people of Noah
thumma anshanā min baʿdihim qarnan ākharīn
23:32 ›
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا فِیهِمۡ رَسُولࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرُهُۥۤۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٣٢
Muhammad Sarwar
We sent to them a Messenger from among their own people who told them, "Worship God; He is your only Lord. Will you then not have fear of Him?"
fa-arsalnā fīhim rasūlan min'hum ani uʿ'budū l-laha mā lakum min ilāhin ghayruhu afalā tattaqūn
3 Prophets after Noah
23:33 ›
وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِن قَوۡمِهِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَاۤءِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتۡرَفۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ یَأۡكُلُ مِمَّا تَأۡكُلُونَ مِنۡهُ وَیَشۡرَبُ مِمَّا تَشۡرَبُونَ ۝٣٣
Muhammad Sarwar
A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do
waqāla l-mala-u min qawmihi alladhīna kafarū wakadhabū biliqāi l-ākhirati wa-atrafnāhum fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā mā hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum yakulu mimmā takulūna min'hu wayashrabu mimmā tashrabūn
23:34 ›
وَلَىِٕنۡ أَطَعۡتُم بَشَرࣰا مِّثۡلَكُمۡ إِنَّكُمۡ إِذࣰا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ ۝٣٤
Muhammad Sarwar
If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost
wala-in aṭaʿtum basharan mith'lakum innakum idhan lakhāsirūn
23:35 ›
أَیَعِدُكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ إِذَا مِتُّمۡ وَكُنتُمۡ تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخۡرَجُونَ ۝٣٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again
ayaʿidukum annakum idhā mittum wakuntum turāban waʿiẓāman annakum mukh'rajūn
23:36 ›
۞ هَیۡهَاتَ هَیۡهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ ۝٣٦
Muhammad Sarwar
Such a promise will never come true
hayhāta hayhāta limā tūʿadūn
23:37 ›
إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّا حَیَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنۡیَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحۡیَا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَبۡعُوثِینَ ۝٣٧
Muhammad Sarwar
This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again
in hiya illā ḥayātunā l-dun'yā namūtu wanaḥyā wamā naḥnu bimabʿūthīn
23:38 ›
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبࣰا وَمَا نَحۡنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٣٨
Muhammad Sarwar
He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him"
in huwa illā rajulun if'tarā ʿalā l-lahi kadhiban wamā naḥnu lahu bimu'minīn
23:39 ›
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرۡنِی بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٣٩
Muhammad Sarwar
The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar"
qāla rabbi unṣur'nī bimā kadhabūn
23:40 ›
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِیلࣲ لَّیُصۡبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِینَ ۝٤٠
Muhammad Sarwar
God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds."
qāla ʿammā qalīlin layuṣ'biḥunna nādimīn
23:41 ›
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ غُثَاۤءࣰۚ فَبُعۡدࣰا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤١
Muhammad Sarwar
A blast struck them for a just cause, and We made them look like withered leaves. God keeps the unjust people away from His mercy
fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu bil-ḥaqi fajaʿalnāhum ghuthāan fabuʿ'dan lil'qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:42 ›
ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝٤٢
Muhammad Sarwar
After them We brought another generation into existence
thumma anshanā min baʿdihim qurūnan ākharīn
23:43 ›
مَا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ ۝٤٣
Muhammad Sarwar
Every nation has an appointed life span
mā tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahā wamā yastakhirūn
23:44 ›
ثُمَّ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتۡرَاۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاۤءَ أُمَّةࣰ رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُۖ فَأَتۡبَعۡنَا بَعۡضَهُم بَعۡضࣰا وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَحَادِیثَۚ فَبُعۡدࣰا لِّقَوۡمࣲ لَّا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٤٤
Muhammad Sarwar
We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy
thumma arsalnā rusulanā tatrā kulla mā jāa ummatan rasūluhā kadhabūhu fa-atbaʿnā baʿḍahum baʿḍan wajaʿalnāhum aḥādītha fabuʿ'dan liqawmin lā yu'minūn
23:45 ›
ثُمَّ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا وَسُلۡطَـٰنࣲ مُّبِینٍ ۝٤٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authorit
thumma arsalnā mūsā wa-akhāhu hārūna biāyātinā wasul'ṭānin mubīni
23:46 ›
إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِی۟هِۦ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوۡمًا عَالِینَ ۝٤٦
Muhammad Sarwar
to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people
ilā fir'ʿawna wamala-ihi fa-is'takbarū wakānū qawman ʿālīn
23:47 ›
فَقَالُوۤا۟ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لِبَشَرَیۡنِ مِثۡلِنَا وَقَوۡمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ ۝٤٧
Muhammad Sarwar
They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?"
faqālū anu'minu libasharayni mith'linā waqawmuhumā lanā ʿābidūn
23:48 ›
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهۡلَكِینَ ۝٤٨
Muhammad Sarwar
They called them liars and consequently were destroyed
fakadhabūhumā fakānū mina l-muh'lakīn
23:49 ›
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٤٩
Muhammad Sarwar
We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance
walaqad ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba laʿallahum yahtadūn
23:50 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱبۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥۤ ءَایَةࣰ وَءَاوَیۡنَـٰهُمَاۤ إِلَىٰ رَبۡوَةࣲ ذَاتِ قَرَارࣲ وَمَعِینࣲ ۝٥٠
Muhammad Sarwar
We made the son of Mary and his mother a miracle and settled them on a high land, quite secure and watered by a spring
wajaʿalnā ib'na maryama wa-ummahu āyatan waāwaynāhumā ilā rabwatin dhāti qarārin wamaʿīni
4 Higher Values of Life
23:51 ›
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّیِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعۡمَلُوا۟ صَـٰلِحًاۖ إِنِّی بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٥١
Muhammad Sarwar
I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do
yāayyuhā l-rusulu kulū mina l-ṭayibāti wa-iʿ'malū ṣāliḥan innī bimā taʿmalūna ʿalīmu
23:52 ›
وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱتَّقُونِ ۝٥٢
Muhammad Sarwar
Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me"
wa-inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-ittaqūn
23:53 ›
فَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡ زُبُرࣰاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَیۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ ۝٥٣
Muhammad Sarwar
The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had
fataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu ḥiz'bin bimā ladayhim fariḥūn
23:54 ›
فَذَرۡهُمۡ فِی غَمۡرَتِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینٍ ۝٥٤
Muhammad Sarwar
(Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time
fadharhum fī ghamratihim ḥattā ḥīni
23:55 ›
أَیَحۡسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالࣲ وَبَنِینَ ۝٥٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property
ayaḥsabūna annamā numidduhum bihi min mālin wabanīn
23:56 ›
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِۚ بَل لَّا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٥٦
Muhammad Sarwar
We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this
nusāriʿu lahum fī l-khayrāti bal lā yashʿurūn
23:57 ›
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ هُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشۡفِقُونَ ۝٥٧
Muhammad Sarwar
Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord
inna alladhīna hum min khashyati rabbihim mush'fiqūn
23:58 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٥٨
Muhammad Sarwar
who believe in the revelations of their Lord
wa-alladhīna hum biāyāti rabbihim yu'minūn
23:59 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ لَا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٥٩
Muhammad Sarwar
who consider nothing equal to their Lord
wa-alladhīna hum birabbihim lā yush'rikūn
23:60 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡتُونَ مَاۤ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٦٠
Muhammad Sarwar
who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their retur
wa-alladhīna yu'tūna mā ātaw waqulūbuhum wajilatun annahum ilā rabbihim rājiʿūn
23:61 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَهُمۡ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ ۝٦١
Muhammad Sarwar
to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task
ulāika yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wahum lahā sābiqūn
23:62 ›
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ وَلَدَیۡنَا كِتَـٰبࣱ یَنطِقُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٦٢
Muhammad Sarwar
We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it
walā nukallifu nafsan illā wus'ʿahā waladaynā kitābun yanṭiqu bil-ḥaqi wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn
23:63 ›
بَلۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ فِی غَمۡرَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلࣱ مِّن دُونِ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُمۡ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ ۝٦٣
Muhammad Sarwar
In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it
bal qulūbuhum fī ghamratin min hādhā walahum aʿmālun min dūni dhālika hum lahā ʿāmilūn
23:64 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَاۤ أَخَذۡنَا مُتۡرَفِیهِم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمۡ یَجۡءَرُونَ ۝٦٤
Muhammad Sarwar
But when We will strike with torment those (unbelievers) who are rich, they will start to cry for help
ḥattā idhā akhadhnā mut'rafīhim bil-ʿadhābi idhā hum yajarūn
23:65 ›
لَا تَجۡءَرُوا۟ ٱلۡیَوۡمَۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ ۝٦٥
Muhammad Sarwar
We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us"
lā tajarū l-yawma innakum minnā lā tunṣarūn
23:66 ›
قَدۡ كَانَتۡ ءَایَـٰتِی تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡكُمۡ فَكُنتُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ أَعۡقَـٰبِكُمۡ تَنكِصُونَ ۝٦٦
Muhammad Sarwar
Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to the
qad kānat āyātī tut'lā ʿalaykum fakuntum ʿalā aʿqābikum tankiṣūn
23:67 ›
مُسۡتَكۡبِرِینَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرࣰا تَهۡجُرُونَ ۝٦٧
Muhammad Sarwar
and arrogantly mocked and reviled them
mus'takbirīna bihi sāmiran tahjurūn
23:68 ›
أَفَلَمۡ یَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ أَمۡ جَاۤءَهُم مَّا لَمۡ یَأۡتِ ءَابَاۤءَهُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٦٨
Muhammad Sarwar
Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers
afalam yaddabbarū l-qawla am jāahum mā lam yati ābāahumu l-awalīn
23:69 ›
أَمۡ لَمۡ یَعۡرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٦٩
Muhammad Sarwar
Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad
am lam yaʿrifū rasūlahum fahum lahu munkirūn
23:70 ›
أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةُۢۚ بَلۡ جَاۤءَهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لِلۡحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ ۝٧٠
Muhammad Sarwar
or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it
am yaqūlūna bihi jinnatun bal jāahum bil-ḥaqi wa-aktharuhum lil'ḥaqqi kārihūn
23:71 ›
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلۡحَقُّ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَن فِیهِنَّۚ بَلۡ أَتَیۡنَـٰهُم بِذِكۡرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٧١
Muhammad Sarwar
Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it
walawi ittabaʿa l-ḥaqu ahwāahum lafasadati l-samāwātu wal-arḍu waman fīhinna bal ataynāhum bidhik'rihim fahum ʿan dhik'rihim muʿ'riḍūn
23:72 ›
أَمۡ تَسۡءَلُهُمۡ خَرۡجࣰا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَیۡرࣱۖ وَهُوَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰزِقِینَ ۝٧٢
Muhammad Sarwar
(Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider
am tasaluhum kharjan fakharāju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru l-rāziqīn
23:73 ›
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٧٣
Muhammad Sarwar
(Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path
wa-innaka latadʿūhum ilā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmi
23:74 ›
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَ ٰطِ لَنَـٰكِبُونَ ۝٧٤
Muhammad Sarwar
but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path
wa-inna alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati ʿani l-ṣirāṭi lanākibūn
23:75 ›
۞ وَلَوۡ رَحِمۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرࣲّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ۝٧٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion
walaw raḥim'nāhum wakashafnā mā bihim min ḍurrin lalajjū fī ṭugh'yānihim yaʿmahūn
23:76 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَخَذۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسۡتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمۡ وَمَا یَتَضَرَّعُونَ ۝٧٦
Muhammad Sarwar
We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humbl
walaqad akhadhnāhum bil-ʿadhābi famā is'takānū lirabbihim wamā yataḍarraʿūn
23:77 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا ذَا عَذَابࣲ شَدِیدٍ إِذَا هُمۡ فِیهِ مُبۡلِسُونَ ۝٧٧
Muhammad Sarwar
until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair
ḥattā idhā fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban dhā ʿadhābin shadīdin idhā hum fīhi mub'lisūn
5 Polytheism is self-condemned
23:78 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡءِدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٧٨
Muhammad Sarwar
It is God who has created ears, eyes, and hearts for you. Little are the thanks that you give
wahuwa alladhī ansha-a lakumu l-samʿa wal-abṣāra wal-afidata qalīlan mā tashkurūn
23:79 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ۝٧٩
Muhammad Sarwar
It is God who has settled you on the earth and before Him you will all be assembled
wahuwa alladhī dhara-akum fī l-arḍi wa-ilayhi tuḥ'sharūn
23:80 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یُحۡیِۦ وَیُمِیتُ وَلَهُ ٱخۡتِلَـٰفُ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٨٠
Muhammad Sarwar
It is He who gives life and causes death and it is He who alternates night and day. Will you not then understand
wahuwa alladhī yuḥ'yī wayumītu walahu ikh'tilāfu al-layli wal-nahāri afalā taʿqilūn
23:81 ›
بَلۡ قَالُوا۟ مِثۡلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝٨١
Muhammad Sarwar
They say exactly the same thing as the people who lived before
bal qālū mith'la mā qāla l-awalūn
23:82 ›
قَالُوۤا۟ أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ۝٨٢
Muhammad Sarwar
They say, "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised up again
qālū a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamabʿūthūn
23:83 ›
لَقَدۡ وُعِدۡنَا نَحۡنُ وَءَابَاۤؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبۡلُ إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّاۤ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٨٣
Muhammad Sarwar
Our fathers and we have been given such promises before. These are no more than ancient legends."
laqad wuʿid'nā naḥnu waābāunā hādhā min qablu in hādhā illā asāṭīru l-awalīn
23:84 ›
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَن فِیهَاۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٨٤
Muhammad Sarwar
(Muhammad), say to them, "Tell me, if you know, to whom does the earth and its contents belong?"
qul limani l-arḍu waman fīhā in kuntum taʿlamūn
23:85 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٨٥
Muhammad Sarwar
They will quickly reply, "It belongs to God." Say, "Will you not, then, take heed?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul afalā tadhakkarūn
23:86 ›
قُلۡ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ ٱلسَّبۡعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٨٦
Muhammad Sarwar
Ask them, "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Great Throne?"
qul man rabbu l-samāwāti l-sabʿi warabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm
23:87 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٨٧
Muhammad Sarwar
They will quickly say, "It is God." Say, "Will you not then have fear of Him?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul afalā tattaqūn
23:88 ›
قُلۡ مَنۢ بِیَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَهُوَ یُجِیرُ وَلَا یُجَارُ عَلَیۡهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٨٨
Muhammad Sarwar
Ask them, "If you have any knowledge, in whose hands is the ownership of all things? Who is the one who gives protection and yet He Himself is never protected?"
qul man biyadihi malakūtu kulli shayin wahuwa yujīru walā yujāru ʿalayhi in kuntum taʿlamūn
23:89 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسۡحَرُونَ ۝٨٩
Muhammad Sarwar
They will reply spontaneously, "It is God." Ask them, "Why has falsehood bewitched you?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul fa-annā tus'ḥarūn
23:90 ›
بَلۡ أَتَیۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝٩٠
Muhammad Sarwar
We have sent them the truth and they, certainly, are liars
bal ataynāhum bil-ḥaqi wa-innahum lakādhibūn
23:91 ›
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدࣲ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍۚ إِذࣰا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهِۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩١
Muhammad Sarwar
God has never given birth to a son and there is no other god besides Him. If there were, each god would have taken away his creatures and claimed superiority over the others. God is too exalted to be as they believe Him to be
mā ittakhadha l-lahu min waladin wamā kāna maʿahu min ilāhin idhan ladhahaba kullu ilāhin bimā khalaqa walaʿalā baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yaṣifūn
23:92 ›
عَـٰلِمِ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٩٢
Muhammad Sarwar
He has the knowledge of all seen and unseen things. He is too exalted to be considered equal to anything else
qul rabbi immā turiyannī mā yūʿadūn
6 Regrets of the Wicked
23:93 ›
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِیَنِّی مَا یُوعَدُونَ ۝٩٣
Muhammad Sarwar
Say, "Lord, if you will afflict them with punishment
Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona
23:94 ›
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجۡعَلۡنِی فِی ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٤
Muhammad Sarwar
exclude me from the unjust people"
rabbi falā tajʿalnī fī l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:95 ›
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَن نُّرِیَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمۡ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٩٥
Muhammad Sarwar
We have the Power to strike them with torment before your very eyes
wa-innā ʿalā an nuriyaka mā naʿiduhum laqādirūn
23:96 ›
ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِی هِیَ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلسَّیِّئَةَۚ نَحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩٦
Muhammad Sarwar
Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God
id'faʿ bi-allatī hiya aḥsanu l-sayi-ata naḥnu aʿlamu bimā yaṣifūn
23:97 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ ۝٩٧
Muhammad Sarwar
Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils
waqul rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti l-shayāṭīn
23:98 ›
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن یَحۡضُرُونِ ۝٩٨
Muhammad Sarwar
I seek your protection should they approach me."
wa-aʿūdhu bika rabbi an yaḥḍurūn
23:99 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرۡجِعُونِ ۝٩٩
Muhammad Sarwar
When death approaches one of the unbelievers, he says, "Lord, send me back agai
ḥattā idhā jāa aḥadahumu l-mawtu qāla rabbi ir'jiʿūn
23:100 ›
لَعَلِّیۤ أَعۡمَلُ صَـٰلِحࣰا فِیمَا تَرَكۡتُۚ كَلَّاۤۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَاۤىِٕلُهَاۖ وَمِن وَرَاۤىِٕهِم بَرۡزَخٌ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٠٠
Muhammad Sarwar
so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection
laʿallī aʿmalu ṣāliḥan fīmā taraktu kallā innahā kalimatun huwa qāiluhā wamin warāihim barzakhun ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn
23:101 ›
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِ فَلَاۤ أَنسَابَ بَیۡنَهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَلَا یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝١٠١
Muhammad Sarwar
There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded
fa-idhā nufikha fī l-ṣūri falā ansāba baynahum yawma-idhin walā yatasāalūn
23:102 ›
فَمَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ۝١٠٢
Muhammad Sarwar
If the side of ones good deeds weighs heavier on a scale, he will have everlasting happiness
faman thaqulat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūn
23:103 ›
وَمَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ خَسِرُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَهُمۡ فِی جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٣
Muhammad Sarwar
but if it weighs less, one will be lost forever in hell
waman khaffat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika alladhīna khasirū anfusahum fī jahannama khālidūn
23:104 ›
تَلۡفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٤
Muhammad Sarwar
The fire will scorch their faces and they will be groaning therein in pain
talfaḥu wujūhahumu l-nāru wahum fīhā kāliḥūn
23:105 ›
أَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَایَـٰتِی تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡكُمۡ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝١٠٥
Muhammad Sarwar
(They will be told), "Were Our revelations not recited to you and did you not call them lies?"
alam takun āyātī tut'lā ʿalaykum fakuntum bihā tukadhibūn
23:106 ›
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتۡ عَلَیۡنَا شِقۡوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوۡمࣰا ضَاۤلِّینَ ۝١٠٦
Muhammad Sarwar
They will reply, "Lord, our hard-heartedness overcame us and we went astray
qālū rabbanā ghalabat ʿalaynā shiq'watunā wakunnā qawman ḍāllīn
23:107 ›
رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡهَا فَإِنۡ عُدۡنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ ۝١٠٧
Muhammad Sarwar
Lord, take us out of this and if we sin again, we shall certainly be unjust"
rabbanā akhrij'nā min'hā fa-in ʿud'nā fa-innā ẓālimūn
23:108 ›
قَالَ ٱخۡسَءُوا۟ فِیهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ ۝١٠٨
Muhammad Sarwar
He will say, "Be quiet and say nothing."
qāla ikh'saū fīhā walā tukallimūn
23:109 ›
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِیقࣱ مِّنۡ عِبَادِی یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَاۤ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝١٠٩
Muhammad Sarwar
There was a group of my servants among you who always prayed: Lord, forgive us and grant us mercy; You are the best of those who show mercy
innahu kāna farīqun min ʿibādī yaqūlūna rabbanā āmannā fa-igh'fir lanā wa-ir'ḥamnā wa-anta khayru l-rāḥimīn
23:110 ›
فَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُمۡ سِخۡرِیًّا حَتَّىٰۤ أَنسَوۡكُمۡ ذِكۡرِی وَكُنتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ تَضۡحَكُونَ ۝١١٠
Muhammad Sarwar
"You mocked and laughed at them until you forgot all about Me
fa-ittakhadhtumūhum sikh'riyyan ḥattā ansawkum dhik'rī wakuntum min'hum taḍḥakūn
23:111 ›
إِنِّی جَزَیۡتُهُمُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡفَاۤىِٕزُونَ ۝١١١
Muhammad Sarwar
On this day I have given them their reward for their exercising patience and it is they who have triumphed."
innī jazaytuhumu l-yawma bimā ṣabarū annahum humu l-fāizūn
23:112 ›
قَـٰلَ كَمۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ عَدَدَ سِنِینَ ۝١١٢
Muhammad Sarwar
God will ask them, "How many years did you live in your graves?"
qāla kam labith'tum fī l-arḍi ʿadada sinīn
23:113 ›
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثۡنَا یَوۡمًا أَوۡ بَعۡضَ یَوۡمࣲ فَسۡءَلِ ٱلۡعَاۤدِّینَ ۝١١٣
Muhammad Sarwar
They will reply. "We remained for about a day or part of it, but ask those who have kept count"
qālū labith'nā yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin fasali l-ʿādīn
23:114 ›
قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰاۖ لَّوۡ أَنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١١٤
Muhammad Sarwar
God will say, "You have indeed remained there for a short time. Would that you knew it during your life time
qāla in labith'tum illā qalīlan law annakum kuntum taʿlamūn
23:115 ›
أَفَحَسِبۡتُمۡ أَنَّمَا خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ عَبَثࣰا وَأَنَّكُمۡ إِلَیۡنَا لَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١٥
Muhammad Sarwar
Did you think that We had created you for a playful purpose and that you were not to return to Us?"
afaḥasib'tum annamā khalaqnākum ʿabathan wa-annakum ilaynā lā tur'jaʿūn
23:116 ›
فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡكَرِیمِ ۝١١٦
Muhammad Sarwar
God is the most exalted King and the Supreme Truth. He is the only God and the Lord of the Gracious Throne
fataʿālā l-lahu l-maliku l-ḥaqu lā ilāha illā huwa rabbu l-ʿarshi l-karīm
23:117 ›
وَمَن یَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرۡهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ ۝١١٧
Muhammad Sarwar
One who worships things besides God has no proof of the authority of such things. God is certainly keeping the record of his deeds. The unbelievers will not have everlasting happiness
waman yadʿu maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara lā bur'hāna lahu bihi fa-innamā ḥisābuhu ʿinda rabbihi innahu lā yuf'liḥu l-kāfirūn
23:118 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ وَٱرۡحَمۡ وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝١١٨
Muhammad Sarwar
(Muhammad), say, "Lord, forgive me and grant me mercy; You are the best of the Merciful Ones
waqul rabbi igh'fir wa-ir'ḥam wa-anta khayru l-rāḥimīn
