1 Success of the Faithful
23:1 ›
۞ قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝١
Safi Kaskas
The believers have prospered.
qad aflaḥa l-mu'minūn
23:2 ›
ٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ فِی صَلَاتِهِمۡ خَـٰشِعُونَ ۝٢
Safi Kaskas
They are those who humble themselves in prayer,
alladhīna hum fī ṣalātihim khāshiʿūn
23:3 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ عَنِ ٱللَّغۡوِ مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣
Safi Kaskas
who turn away from meaningless talk,
wa-alladhīna hum ʿani l-laghwi muʿ'riḍūn
23:4 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ ۝٤
Safi Kaskas
pay the purifying alms,
wa-alladhīna hum lilzzakati fāʿilūn
23:5 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ حَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٥
Safi Kaskas
and who protect their chastity
wa-alladhīna hum lifurūjihim ḥāfiẓūn
23:6 ›
إِلَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَیۡرُ مَلُومِینَ ۝٦
Safi Kaskas
except with their wives or with those whom their right hands held in trust, for which they will not be blamed.
illā ʿalā azwājihim aw mā malakat aymānuhum fa-innahum ghayru malūmīn
23:7 ›
فَمَنِ ٱبۡتَغَىٰ وَرَاۤءَ ذَ ٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡعَادُونَ ۝٧
Safi Kaskas
Those who desire anything beyond that are transgressors,
famani ib'taghā warāa dhālika fa-ulāika humu l-ʿādūn
23:8 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَ ٰعُونَ ۝٨
Safi Kaskas
whereas those who honor their trusts and their promises
wa-alladhīna hum li-amānātihim waʿahdihim rāʿūn
23:9 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَ ٰتِهِمۡ یُحَافِظُونَ ۝٩
Safi Kaskas
and who keep up their prayers,
wa-alladhīna hum ʿalā ṣalawātihim yuḥāfiẓūn
23:10 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ ۝١٠
Safi Kaskas
those are the inheritors
ulāika humu l-wārithūn
23:11 ›
ٱلَّذِینَ یَرِثُونَ ٱلۡفِرۡدَوۡسَ هُمۡ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١١
Safi Kaskas
who will inherit the Paradise of Ferdous, where they will dwell for eternity.
alladhīna yarithūna l-fir'dawsa hum fīhā khālidūn
23:12 ›
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةࣲ مِّن طِینࣲ ۝١٢
Safi Kaskas
And We did certainly create man from an extract of clay.
walaqad khalaqnā l-insāna min sulālatin min ṭīni
23:13 ›
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ نُطۡفَةࣰ فِی قَرَارࣲ مَّكِینࣲ ۝١٣
Safi Kaskas
and then We placed him as a fertilized ovum in a safe place,
thumma jaʿalnāhu nuṭ'fatan fī qarārin makīni
23:14 ›
ثُمَّ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلنُّطۡفَةَ عَلَقَةࣰ فَخَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡعَلَقَةَ مُضۡغَةࣰ فَخَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمُضۡغَةَ عِظَـٰمࣰا فَكَسَوۡنَا ٱلۡعِظَـٰمَ لَحۡمࣰا ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَـٰهُ خَلۡقًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِینَ ۝١٤
Safi Kaskas
and then We transformed the fertilized ovum into a clinging leach, and the leach into a chewed morsel, and [from] the chewed morsel, We created bones, and We covered the bones with flesh, and then we structured him into yet another creation. Blessed is God, the best of creators.
thumma khalaqnā l-nuṭ'fata ʿalaqatan fakhalaqnā l-ʿalaqata muḍ'ghatan fakhalaqnā l-muḍ'ghata ʿiẓāman fakasawnā l-ʿiẓāma laḥman thumma anshanāhu khalqan ākhara fatabāraka l-lahu aḥsanu l-khāliqīn
23:15 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعۡدَ ذَ ٰلِكَ لَمَیِّتُونَ ۝١٥
Safi Kaskas
Then, after that, you will surely die.
thumma innakum baʿda dhālika lamayyitūn
23:16 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ تُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٦
Safi Kaskas
Then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will be resurrected.
thumma innakum yawma l-qiyāmati tub'ʿathūn
23:17 ›
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعَ طَرَاۤىِٕقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلۡخَلۡقِ غَـٰفِلِینَ ۝١٧
Safi Kaskas
And We have created above you seven heavenly dimensions, and We have never abandoned [Our] creation.
walaqad khalaqnā fawqakum sabʿa ṭarāiqa wamā kunnā ʿani l-khalqi ghāfilīn
23:18 ›
وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءَۢ بِقَدَرࣲ فَأَسۡكَنَّـٰهُ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابِۭ بِهِۦ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝١٨
Safi Kaskas
And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and we settle it into the earth, [although] We have the power to withdraw it.
wa-anzalnā mina l-samāi māan biqadarin fa-askannāhu fī l-arḍi wa-innā ʿalā dhahābin bihi laqādirūn
23:19 ›
فَأَنشَأۡنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتࣲ مِّن نَّخِیلࣲ وَأَعۡنَـٰبࣲ لَّكُمۡ فِیهَا فَوَ ٰكِهُ كَثِیرَةࣱ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝١٩
Safi Kaskas
With [water] We bring forth gardens of palm trees, and vines with abundant fruit for you, from which you may eat,
fa-anshanā lakum bihi jannātin min nakhīlin wa-aʿnābin lakum fīhā fawākihu kathīratun wamin'hā takulūn
23:20 ›
وَشَجَرَةࣰ تَخۡرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَیۡنَاۤءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهۡنِ وَصِبۡغࣲ لِّلۡءَاكِلِینَ ۝٢٠
Safi Kaskas
and a tree growing out of Mount Sinai that produces oil and relish for those who eat.
washajaratan takhruju min ṭūri saynāa tanbutu bil-duh'ni waṣib'ghin lil'ākilīn
23:21 ›
وَإِنَّ لَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ لَعِبۡرَةࣰۖ نُّسۡقِیكُم مِّمَّا فِی بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ كَثِیرَةࣱ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝٢١
Safi Kaskas
And there is a lesson for you in livestock, we give you milk to drink from their bellies, [you derive] numerous other benefits from them: you eat [their meat]
wa-inna lakum fī l-anʿāmi laʿib'ratan nus'qīkum mimmā fī buṭūnihā walakum fīhā manāfiʿu kathīratun wamin'hā takulūn
23:22 ›
وَعَلَیۡهَا وَعَلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ تُحۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٢
Safi Kaskas
We sent Noah to his people, and he said, "My people, worship God; you have no gods before Him. Will you not be aware of Him?"
waʿalayhā waʿalā l-ful'ki tuḥ'malūn

23:23 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فَقَالَ یَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرُهُۥۤۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٢٣
Safi Kaskas
and ride upon them as you do on ships.
walaqad arsalnā nūḥan ilā qawmihi faqāla yāqawmi uʿ'budū l-laha mā lakum min ilāhin ghayruhu afalā tattaqūn
23:24 ›
فَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ یُرِیدُ أَن یَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةࣰ مَّا سَمِعۡنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِیۤ ءَابَاۤىِٕنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٢٤
Safi Kaskas
But their leaders, who were among the unbelievers from his people said, "He is but a human being like you, trying to gain dominance over you; if God had so willed, He would have sent down angels. We have never heard of anything like this from our forefathers.
faqāla l-mala-u alladhīna kafarū min qawmihi mā hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum yurīdu an yatafaḍḍala ʿalaykum walaw shāa l-lahu la-anzala malāikatan mā samiʿ'nā bihādhā fī ābāinā l-awalīn
23:25 ›
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلُۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةࣱ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝٢٥
Safi Kaskas
He is only a man possessed, so put up with him for a while, and let's see what happens to him."
in huwa illā rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbaṣū bihi ḥattā ḥīni
23:26 ›
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرۡنِی بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٢٦
Safi Kaskas
[Noah] said, "My Lord, help me, because they have accused me of lying."
qāla rabbi unṣur'nī bimā kadhabūn
23:27 ›
فَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنِ ٱصۡنَعِ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ بِأَعۡیُنِنَا وَوَحۡیِنَا فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسۡلُكۡ فِیهَا مِن كُلࣲّ زَوۡجَیۡنِ ٱثۡنَیۡنِ وَأَهۡلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبۡنِی فِی ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوۤا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغۡرَقُونَ ۝٢٧
Safi Kaskas
So We instructed him, "Build the Ark under Our watchful eyes and [according to] Our revelation. When Our command comes and the valley overflows, take on board pairs of every species and your family, except for those among them against whom judgment has been proclaimed. And do not plead with Me on behalf of the unjust; they will all be drowned.
fa-awḥaynā ilayhi ani iṣ'naʿi l-ful'ka bi-aʿyuninā wawaḥyinā fa-idhā jāa amrunā wafāra l-tanūru fa-us'luk fīhā min kullin zawjayni ith'nayni wa-ahlaka illā man sabaqa ʿalayhi l-qawlu min'hum walā tukhāṭib'nī fī alladhīna ẓalamū innahum mugh'raqūn
23:28 ›
فَإِذَا ٱسۡتَوَیۡتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ فَقُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِی نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٨
Safi Kaskas
When you and those with you are settled on the Ark, then say, 'All praise is due to God, who has delivered us from the oppressive people.'
fa-idhā is'tawayta anta waman maʿaka ʿalā l-ful'ki faquli l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī najjānā mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:29 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلۡنِی مُنزَلࣰا مُّبَارَكࣰا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡمُنزِلِینَ ۝٢٩
Safi Kaskas
And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, as You are the best to provide.' "
waqul rabbi anzil'nī munzalan mubārakan wa-anta khayru l-munzilīn
23:30 ›
إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبۡتَلِینَ ۝٣٠
Safi Kaskas
There are signs in all this, and We are always putting people to the test.
inna fī dhālika laāyātin wa-in kunnā lamub'talīn
23:31 ›
ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ قَرۡنًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝٣١
Safi Kaskas
Then, after those people, We raised up a new generation.
thumma anshanā min baʿdihim qarnan ākharīn
23:32 ›
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا فِیهِمۡ رَسُولࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرُهُۥۤۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٣٢
Safi Kaskas
And We sent them a messenger from among them, [saying], "Worship God for you have no god before Him. Will you not, then, be aware of Him?"
fa-arsalnā fīhim rasūlan min'hum ani uʿ'budū l-laha mā lakum min ilāhin ghayruhu afalā tattaqūn
3 Prophets after Noah
23:33 ›
وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِن قَوۡمِهِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَاۤءِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتۡرَفۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ یَأۡكُلُ مِمَّا تَأۡكُلُونَ مِنۡهُ وَیَشۡرَبُ مِمَّا تَشۡرَبُونَ ۝٣٣
Safi Kaskas
But the leaders among his people, who denied the truth and denied the encounter with the Hereafter, and to whom We had given ease and plenty in this worldly, life said, "This is only a man like you, who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink
waqāla l-mala-u min qawmihi alladhīna kafarū wakadhabū biliqāi l-ākhirati wa-atrafnāhum fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā mā hādhā illā basharun mith'lukum yakulu mimmā takulūna min'hu wayashrabu mimmā tashrabūn
23:34 ›
وَلَىِٕنۡ أَطَعۡتُم بَشَرࣰا مِّثۡلَكُمۡ إِنَّكُمۡ إِذࣰا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ ۝٣٤
Safi Kaskas
and, if you should obey a human being like yourselves, you would then fail.
wala-in aṭaʿtum basharan mith'lakum innakum idhan lakhāsirūn
23:35 ›
أَیَعِدُكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ إِذَا مِتُّمۡ وَكُنتُمۡ تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخۡرَجُونَ ۝٣٥
Safi Kaskas
Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [to a new life]?
ayaʿidukum annakum idhā mittum wakuntum turāban waʿiẓāman annakum mukh'rajūn
23:36 ›
۞ هَیۡهَاتَ هَیۡهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ ۝٣٦
Safi Kaskas
What You have been promised is sheer nonsense.
hayhāta hayhāta limā tūʿadūn
23:37 ›
إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّا حَیَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنۡیَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحۡیَا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَبۡعُوثِینَ ۝٣٧
Safi Kaskas
Life is only our worldly life: we live and die, but we will not be resurrected.
in hiya illā ḥayātunā l-dun'yā namūtu wanaḥyā wamā naḥnu bimabʿūthīn
23:38 ›
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبࣰا وَمَا نَحۡنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٣٨
Safi Kaskas
He is just a man who has invented a lie about God, and We will never believe him."
in huwa illā rajulun if'tarā ʿalā l-lahi kadhiban wamā naḥnu lahu bimu'minīn
23:39 ›
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرۡنِی بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ ۝٣٩
Safi Kaskas
He said, "My Lord, help me because they call me a liar."
qāla rabbi unṣur'nī bimā kadhabūn
23:40 ›
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِیلࣲ لَّیُصۡبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِینَ ۝٤٠
Safi Kaskas
[God] said, "After a little while, they will surely regret [what they have said]."
qāla ʿammā qalīlin layuṣ'biḥunna nādimīn
23:41 ›
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ غُثَاۤءࣰۚ فَبُعۡدࣰا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤١
Safi Kaskas
So the blast justly struck them, and We swept them away like scum. Away then with the oppressive people.
fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu bil-ḥaqi fajaʿalnāhum ghuthāan fabuʿ'dan lil'qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:42 ›
ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝٤٢
Safi Kaskas
After them, We gave rise to new generations.
thumma anshanā min baʿdihim qurūnan ākharīn
23:43 ›
مَا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ ۝٤٣
Safi Kaskas
No community can speed up or hold back its appointed destiny.
mā tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahā wamā yastakhirūn
23:44 ›
ثُمَّ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتۡرَاۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاۤءَ أُمَّةࣰ رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُۖ فَأَتۡبَعۡنَا بَعۡضَهُم بَعۡضࣰا وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَحَادِیثَۚ فَبُعۡدࣰا لِّقَوۡمࣲ لَّا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٤٤
Safi Kaskas
Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a messenger came to a community he was invariably rejected, so We destroyed them one after the other, until they became mere tales. Away, then, with the people who do not believe
thumma arsalnā rusulanā tatrā kulla mā jāa ummatan rasūluhā kadhabūhu fa-atbaʿnā baʿḍahum baʿḍan wajaʿalnāhum aḥādītha fabuʿ'dan liqawmin lā yu'minūn
23:45 ›
ثُمَّ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا وَسُلۡطَـٰنࣲ مُّبِینٍ ۝٤٥
Safi Kaskas
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority
thumma arsalnā mūsā wa-akhāhu hārūna biāyātinā wasul'ṭānin mubīni
23:46 ›
إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِی۟هِۦ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوۡمًا عَالِینَ ۝٤٦
Safi Kaskas
to Pharaoh and his inner circle, but they were an arrogant, haughty people.
ilā fir'ʿawna wamala-ihi fa-is'takbarū wakānū qawman ʿālīn
23:47 ›
فَقَالُوۤا۟ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لِبَشَرَیۡنِ مِثۡلِنَا وَقَوۡمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ ۝٤٧
Safi Kaskas
They said, "Should we believe two human beings like us while their people are serving us?"
faqālū anu'minu libasharayni mith'linā waqawmuhumā lanā ʿābidūn
23:48 ›
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهۡلَكِینَ ۝٤٨
Safi Kaskas
So they called them both liars, and were consequently destroyed.
fakadhabūhumā fakānū mina l-muh'lakīn
23:49 ›
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٤٩
Safi Kaskas
And We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided.
walaqad ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba laʿallahum yahtadūn
23:50 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱبۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥۤ ءَایَةࣰ وَءَاوَیۡنَـٰهُمَاۤ إِلَىٰ رَبۡوَةࣲ ذَاتِ قَرَارࣲ وَمَعِینࣲ ۝٥٠
Safi Kaskas
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and sheltered them within a hill where there was a meadow and a flowing spring.
wajaʿalnā ib'na maryama wa-ummahu āyatan waāwaynāhumā ilā rabwatin dhāti qarārin wamaʿīni
4 Higher Values of Life
23:51 ›
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّیِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعۡمَلُوا۟ صَـٰلِحًاۖ إِنِّی بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٥١
Safi Kaskas
[God said], "O Messengers, eat good things and do good. I know all that you do.
yāayyuhā l-rusulu kulū mina l-ṭayibāti wa-iʿ'malū ṣāliḥan innī bimā taʿmalūna ʿalīmu
23:52 ›
وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱتَّقُونِ ۝٥٢
Safi Kaskas
This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so be ever conscious of Me."
wa-inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-ittaqūn
23:53 ›
فَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡ زُبُرࣰاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَیۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ ۝٥٣
Safi Kaskas
Yet [your followers] tore their unity piece by piece, each faction rejoicing in what it has.
fataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu ḥiz'bin bimā ladayhim fariḥūn
23:54 ›
فَذَرۡهُمۡ فِی غَمۡرَتِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینٍ ۝٥٤
Safi Kaskas
So, leave them in their confusion for a while.
fadharhum fī ghamratihim ḥattā ḥīni
23:55 ›
أَیَحۡسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالࣲ وَبَنِینَ ۝٥٥
Safi Kaskas
Do they think that We provide them wealth and children
ayaḥsabūna annamā numidduhum bihi min mālin wabanīn
23:56 ›
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِۚ بَل لَّا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٥٦
Safi Kaskas
because We rush to give them good things? No, but they are oblivious [to what is going on].
nusāriʿu lahum fī l-khayrāti bal lā yashʿurūn
23:57 ›
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ هُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشۡفِقُونَ ۝٥٧
Safi Kaskas
Those who stand in awe of their Lord
inna alladhīna hum min khashyati rabbihim mush'fiqūn
23:58 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٥٨
Safi Kaskas
who believe in the messages of their Lord
wa-alladhīna hum biāyāti rabbihim yu'minūn
23:59 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ لَا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٥٩
Safi Kaskas
who do not associate anything with their Lord,
wa-alladhīna hum birabbihim lā yush'rikūn
23:60 ›
وَٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡتُونَ مَاۤ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٦٠
Safi Kaskas
and who give whatever they can while their hearts tremble at the thought that they will be returning to their Lord,
wa-alladhīna yu'tūna mā ātaw waqulūbuhum wajilatun annahum ilā rabbihim rājiʿūn
23:61 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَهُمۡ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ ۝٦١
Safi Kaskas
these are the ones who vie to do good deeds, and they will be the first to attain them.
ulāika yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wahum lahā sābiqūn
23:62 ›
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ وَلَدَیۡنَا كِتَـٰبࣱ یَنطِقُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٦٢
Safi Kaskas
We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear. There is a record with Us which speaks the Truth and they will not be treated unjustly.
walā nukallifu nafsan illā wus'ʿahā waladaynā kitābun yanṭiqu bil-ḥaqi wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn
23:63 ›
بَلۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ فِی غَمۡرَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلࣱ مِّن دُونِ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُمۡ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ ۝٦٣
Safi Kaskas
However, the [unbelievers'] hearts are in confusion about this [message], and they do even do worse deeds,
bal qulūbuhum fī ghamratin min hādhā walahum aʿmālun min dūni dhālika hum lahā ʿāmilūn
23:64 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَاۤ أَخَذۡنَا مُتۡرَفِیهِم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمۡ یَجۡءَرُونَ ۝٦٤
Safi Kaskas
until We bring those corrupted with opulence for punishment. Only then will they suddenly start crying [to God] for help.
ḥattā idhā akhadhnā mut'rafīhim bil-ʿadhābi idhā hum yajarūn
23:65 ›
لَا تَجۡءَرُوا۟ ٱلۡیَوۡمَۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ ۝٦٥
Safi Kaskas
"Do not cry out today. You will not get any help from Us.
lā tajarū l-yawma innakum minnā lā tunṣarūn
23:66 ›
قَدۡ كَانَتۡ ءَایَـٰتِی تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡكُمۡ فَكُنتُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ أَعۡقَـٰبِكُمۡ تَنكِصُونَ ۝٦٦
Safi Kaskas
For [every time] My verses were recited to you, you turned away from them
qad kānat āyātī tut'lā ʿalaykum fakuntum ʿalā aʿqābikum tankiṣūn
23:67 ›
مُسۡتَكۡبِرِینَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرࣰا تَهۡجُرُونَ ۝٦٧
Safi Kaskas
in arrogance, amusing yourself by talking nonsense about them far into the night."
mus'takbirīna bihi sāmiran tahjurūn
23:68 ›
أَفَلَمۡ یَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ أَمۡ جَاۤءَهُم مَّا لَمۡ یَأۡتِ ءَابَاۤءَهُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٦٨
Safi Kaskas
Have they not thought about what We tell them, or has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers?
afalam yaddabbarū l-qawla am jāahum mā lam yati ābāahumu l-awalīn
23:69 ›
أَمۡ لَمۡ یَعۡرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ۝٦٩
Safi Kaskas
Or do they not recognize their messenger? Is that why they do not acknowledge him?
am lam yaʿrifū rasūlahum fahum lahu munkirūn
23:70 ›
أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةُۢۚ بَلۡ جَاۤءَهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لِلۡحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ ۝٧٠
Safi Kaskas
Or do they say, "He is crazy?" when in fact he brought them the Truth. But most of them hate the Truth.
am yaqūlūna bihi jinnatun bal jāahum bil-ḥaqi wa-aktharuhum lil'ḥaqqi kārihūn
23:71 ›
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلۡحَقُّ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَن فِیهِنَّۚ بَلۡ أَتَیۡنَـٰهُم بِذِكۡرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ ۝٧١
Safi Kaskas
If the Truth conformed to their desires, truly, the heavens, and the earth, and whoever is in them would have been corrupted. Instead, We have given them their Reminder, but they turn away from it.
walawi ittabaʿa l-ḥaqu ahwāahum lafasadati l-samāwātu wal-arḍu waman fīhinna bal ataynāhum bidhik'rihim fahum ʿan dhik'rihim muʿ'riḍūn
23:72 ›
أَمۡ تَسۡءَلُهُمۡ خَرۡجࣰا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَیۡرࣱۖ وَهُوَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰزِقِینَ ۝٧٢
Safi Kaskas
Or [do they think that] you are asking them for compensation, when your Lord's compensation is best? He is the Best of Providers.
am tasaluhum kharjan fakharāju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru l-rāziqīn
23:73 ›
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٧٣
Safi Kaskas
You call them to a straight path,
wa-innaka latadʿūhum ilā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmi
23:74 ›
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَ ٰطِ لَنَـٰكِبُونَ ۝٧٤
Safi Kaskas
but those who do not believe in the Hereafter deviate from that path.
wa-inna alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati ʿani l-ṣirāṭi lanākibūn
23:75 ›
۞ وَلَوۡ رَحِمۡنَـٰهُمۡ وَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرࣲّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ۝٧٥
Safi Kaskas
Even if We were to show them mercy and relieve them of the harm afflicting them, they would persist in their blind transgression.
walaw raḥim'nāhum wakashafnā mā bihim min ḍurrin lalajjū fī ṭugh'yānihim yaʿmahūn
23:76 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَخَذۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسۡتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمۡ وَمَا یَتَضَرَّعُونَ ۝٧٦
Safi Kaskas
Even when We afflicted them with suffering [as a warning], they did not humble themselves to their Lord, nor were they submissive,
walaqad akhadhnāhum bil-ʿadhābi famā is'takānū lirabbihim wamā yataḍarraʿūn
23:77 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا ذَا عَذَابࣲ شَدِیدٍ إِذَا هُمۡ فِیهِ مُبۡلِسُونَ ۝٧٧
Safi Kaskas
but when We open a gate of severe punishment to them, they will immediately be crushed with despair.
ḥattā idhā fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban dhā ʿadhābin shadīdin idhā hum fīhi mub'lisūn
5 Polytheism is self-condemned
23:78 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡءِدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٧٨
Safi Kaskas
And it is He who created your hearing and vision and hearts; how seldom are you grateful.
wahuwa alladhī ansha-a lakumu l-samʿa wal-abṣāra wal-afidata qalīlan mā tashkurūn
23:79 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ۝٧٩
Safi Kaskas
And it is He who spread you over the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
wahuwa alladhī dhara-akum fī l-arḍi wa-ilayhi tuḥ'sharūn
23:80 ›
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یُحۡیِۦ وَیُمِیتُ وَلَهُ ٱخۡتِلَـٰفُ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٨٠
Safi Kaskas
And It is He Who gives life and causes death, and to Him is due the alternation of night and day. Will you not then use your reason?
wahuwa alladhī yuḥ'yī wayumītu walahu ikh'tilāfu al-layli wal-nahāri afalā taʿqilūn
23:81 ›
بَلۡ قَالُوا۟ مِثۡلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝٨١
Safi Kaskas
However, they are content to say what their ancestors said.
bal qālū mith'la mā qāla l-awalūn
23:82 ›
قَالُوۤا۟ أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ۝٨٢
Safi Kaskas
They said, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we to be resurrected?
qālū a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamabʿūthūn
23:83 ›
لَقَدۡ وُعِدۡنَا نَحۡنُ وَءَابَاۤؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبۡلُ إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّاۤ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٨٣
Safi Kaskas
We have been promised this before, and so were our forefathers. These are just ancient legends."
laqad wuʿid'nā naḥnu waābāunā hādhā min qablu in hādhā illā asāṭīru l-awalīn
23:84 ›
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَن فِیهَاۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٨٤
Safi Kaskas
Say, "To whom belongs the earth and all that is in it, if you know?"
qul limani l-arḍu waman fīhā in kuntum taʿlamūn
23:85 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٨٥
Safi Kaskas
They will say, "To God." Say, "Then will you not take heed?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul afalā tadhakkarūn
23:86 ›
قُلۡ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ ٱلسَّبۡعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٨٦
Safi Kaskas
Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne?"
qul man rabbu l-samāwāti l-sabʿi warabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm
23:87 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝٨٧
Safi Kaskas
They will say, "[They belong] to God." Say, "Then will you not be mindful?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul afalā tattaqūn
23:88 ›
قُلۡ مَنۢ بِیَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَهُوَ یُجِیرُ وَلَا یُجَارُ عَلَیۡهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٨٨
Safi Kaskas
Say, "In whose hand is the dominion over all things. Who protects, while none can protect against Him, if you happen to know?"
qul man biyadihi malakūtu kulli shayin wahuwa yujīru walā yujāru ʿalayhi in kuntum taʿlamūn
23:89 ›
سَیَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِۚ قُلۡ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسۡحَرُونَ ۝٨٩
Safi Kaskas
They will say, "[All belongs] to God." Say, "Then how can you be so mislead?"
sayaqūlūna lillahi qul fa-annā tus'ḥarūn
23:90 ›
بَلۡ أَتَیۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝٩٠
Safi Kaskas
In fact, We have sent them the Truth, but they lie.
bal ataynāhum bil-ḥaqi wa-innahum lakādhibūn
23:91 ›
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدࣲ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍۚ إِذࣰا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهِۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩١
Safi Kaskas
God has not taken any son, nor has there ever been any other god but Him. [Had there been], then each god would have taken aside what it created, and sought to overcome the others. May God be exalted in His glory, far above what they ascribed to Him.
mā ittakhadha l-lahu min waladin wamā kāna maʿahu min ilāhin idhan ladhahaba kullu ilāhin bimā khalaqa walaʿalā baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yaṣifūn
23:92 ›
عَـٰلِمِ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٩٢
Safi Kaskas
The Knower of all that is beyond human's perception, as well as all that can be witnessed by humans. May He be exalted above all whom they associate with Him!
qul rabbi immā turiyannī mā yūʿadūn
6 Regrets of the Wicked
23:93 ›
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِیَنِّی مَا یُوعَدُونَ ۝٩٣
Safi Kaskas
Say, "My Lord, if You are going to show me what you have promised them,
Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona
23:94 ›
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجۡعَلۡنِی فِی ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٤
Safi Kaskas
then, My Lord, do not place me among such unjust people."
rabbi falā tajʿalnī fī l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn
23:95 ›
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَن نُّرِیَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمۡ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٩٥
Safi Kaskas
We are surely able to show you what We have promised them.
wa-innā ʿalā an nuriyaka mā naʿiduhum laqādirūn
23:96 ›
ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِی هِیَ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلسَّیِّئَةَۚ نَحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩٦
Safi Kaskas
Overcome evil with good- We are well aware of what they are saying.
id'faʿ bi-allatī hiya aḥsanu l-sayi-ata naḥnu aʿlamu bimā yaṣifūn
23:97 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ ۝٩٧
Safi Kaskas
And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils,
waqul rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti l-shayāṭīn
23:98 ›
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن یَحۡضُرُونِ ۝٩٨
Safi Kaskas
and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, so they may not come near me."
wa-aʿūdhu bika rabbi an yaḥḍurūn
23:99 ›
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرۡجِعُونِ ۝٩٩
Safi Kaskas
When death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back
ḥattā idhā jāa aḥadahumu l-mawtu qāla rabbi ir'jiʿūn
23:100 ›
لَعَلِّیۤ أَعۡمَلُ صَـٰلِحࣰا فِیمَا تَرَكۡتُۚ كَلَّاۤۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَاۤىِٕلُهَاۖ وَمِن وَرَاۤىِٕهِم بَرۡزَخٌ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٠٠
Safi Kaskas
so that I may make amends for what I left undone." Never! This is but a word he is saying; for behind them there is a [dimensional) barrier until the Day when all will be resurrected!
laʿallī aʿmalu ṣāliḥan fīmā taraktu kallā innahā kalimatun huwa qāiluhā wamin warāihim barzakhun ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn
23:101 ›
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِ فَلَاۤ أَنسَابَ بَیۡنَهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَلَا یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝١٠١
Safi Kaskas
So when the Horn is blown, no ties of kinship will bind them on that Day, nor will they ask about one another.
fa-idhā nufikha fī l-ṣūri falā ansāba baynahum yawma-idhin walā yatasāalūn
23:102 ›
فَمَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ۝١٠٢
Safi Kaskas
And those whose balance [of good deeds) is heavy, it is they who will be successful;
faman thaqulat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūn
23:103 ›
وَمَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ خَسِرُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَهُمۡ فِی جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝١٠٣
Safi Kaskas
but those whose balance is light, those are the ones who have lost their souls and will remain in Hell forever.
waman khaffat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika alladhīna khasirū anfusahum fī jahannama khālidūn
23:104 ›
تَلۡفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ ۝١٠٤
Safi Kaskas
The Fire will sear their faces, distorting them horribly and painfully.
talfaḥu wujūhahumu l-nāru wahum fīhā kāliḥūn
23:105 ›
أَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَایَـٰتِی تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡكُمۡ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝١٠٥
Safi Kaskas
"Were not My verses recited to you and did you not reject them?"
alam takun āyātī tut'lā ʿalaykum fakuntum bihā tukadhibūn
23:106 ›
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتۡ عَلَیۡنَا شِقۡوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوۡمࣰا ضَاۤلِّینَ ۝١٠٦
Safi Kaskas
They will say, "Our Lord, our defiance overcame us, and we were led astray.
qālū rabbanā ghalabat ʿalaynā shiq'watunā wakunnā qawman ḍāllīn
23:107 ›
رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡهَا فَإِنۡ عُدۡنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ ۝١٠٧
Safi Kaskas
Our Lord, get us out of here, and, if we go back to our evil ways, we would be unjust."
rabbanā akhrij'nā min'hā fa-in ʿud'nā fa-innā ẓālimūn
23:108 ›
قَالَ ٱخۡسَءُوا۟ فِیهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ ۝١٠٨
Safi Kaskas
He will say, "Remain despised where you are and do not speak to Me.
qāla ikh'saū fīhā walā tukallimūn
23:109 ›
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِیقࣱ مِّنۡ عِبَادِی یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَاۤ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَا وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝١٠٩
Safi Kaskas
Among My worshipers there were those who used to say, 'Our Lord, We have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the most Merciful.'
innahu kāna farīqun min ʿibādī yaqūlūna rabbanā āmannā fa-igh'fir lanā wa-ir'ḥamnā wa-anta khayru l-rāḥimīn
23:110 ›
فَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُمۡ سِخۡرِیًّا حَتَّىٰۤ أَنسَوۡكُمۡ ذِكۡرِی وَكُنتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ تَضۡحَكُونَ ۝١١٠
Safi Kaskas
But you were so preoccupied with mocking them that you forgot about Me, while you were laughing at them.
fa-ittakhadhtumūhum sikh'riyyan ḥattā ansawkum dhik'rī wakuntum min'hum taḍḥakūn
23:111 ›
إِنِّی جَزَیۡتُهُمُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡفَاۤىِٕزُونَ ۝١١١
Safi Kaskas
I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - they are the successful."
innī jazaytuhumu l-yawma bimā ṣabarū annahum humu l-fāizūn
23:112 ›
قَـٰلَ كَمۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ عَدَدَ سِنِینَ ۝١١٢
Safi Kaskas
He said: "How many years were you on earth?"
qāla kam labith'tum fī l-arḍi ʿadada sinīn
23:113 ›
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثۡنَا یَوۡمًا أَوۡ بَعۡضَ یَوۡمࣲ فَسۡءَلِ ٱلۡعَاۤدِّینَ ۝١١٣
Safi Kaskas
They will say, "We were there a day or part of a day; ask those who keep track of it."
qālū labith'nā yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin fasali l-ʿādīn
23:114 ›
قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰاۖ لَّوۡ أَنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١١٤
Safi Kaskas
He will say, "You stayed but a little, if only you had known.
qāla in labith'tum illā qalīlan law annakum kuntum taʿlamūn
23:115 ›
أَفَحَسِبۡتُمۡ أَنَّمَا خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ عَبَثࣰا وَأَنَّكُمۡ إِلَیۡنَا لَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١٥
Safi Kaskas
Did you think, then, that We created you in vain, or that you would not be returned to Us?"
afaḥasib'tum annamā khalaqnākum ʿabathan wa-annakum ilaynā lā tur'jaʿūn
23:116 ›
فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡكَرِیمِ ۝١١٦
Safi Kaskas
How sublimely exalted is God, the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne of His majesty.
fataʿālā l-lahu l-maliku l-ḥaqu lā ilāha illā huwa rabbu l-ʿarshi l-karīm
23:117 ›
وَمَن یَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرۡهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ ۝١١٧
Safi Kaskas
Whoever calls another deity besides God with no evidence for its existence, then his reckoning will be with his Lord. the unbelievers will never triumph.
waman yadʿu maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara lā bur'hāna lahu bihi fa-innamā ḥisābuhu ʿinda rabbihi innahu lā yuf'liḥu l-kāfirūn
23:118 ›
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ وَٱرۡحَمۡ وَأَنتَ خَیۡرُ ٱلرَّ ٰحِمِینَ ۝١١٨
Safi Kaskas
And, say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy; and You are the most Merciful-to-all."
waqul rabbi igh'fir wa-ir'ḥam wa-anta khayru l-rāḥimīn
