Qaaf. By the Glorious Quran, you are God's messenger

بَلۡ عَجِبُوۤا۟ أَن جَاۤءَهُم مُّنذِرࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَیۡءٌ عَجِیبٌ ۝٢

But they wonder how there has come to them a warner from among themselves. So the unbelievers say, “This is a wonderful thing

bal ʿajibū an jāahum mundhirun min'hum faqāla l-kāfirūna hādhā shayon ʿajību

50:3

أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰاۖ ذَ ٰلِكَ رَجۡعُۢ بَعِیدࣱ ۝٣

“What, when we die and become dust? That is far-fetched.

a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban dhālika rajʿun baʿīdu

50:4

قَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِیظُۢ ۝٤

We already know how many of them the earth takes away. With Us is a record guarding the full account

qad ʿalim'nā mā tanquṣu l-arḍu min'hum waʿindanā kitābun ḥafīẓu

50:5

بَلۡ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ فِیۤ أَمۡرࣲ مَّرِیجٍ ۝٥

But they deny the truth when it comes to them. So they are in a confused state

bal kadhabū bil-ḥaqi lammā jāahum fahum fī amrin marīji

50:6

أَفَلَمۡ یَنظُرُوۤا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ كَیۡفَ بَنَیۡنَـٰهَا وَزَیَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجࣲ ۝٦

Do they not look at the sky above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it

afalam yanẓurū ilā l-samāi fawqahum kayfa banaynāhā wazayyannāhā wamā lahā min furūji

50:7

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجِۭ بَهِیجࣲ ۝٧

And the earth, We have spread it out, and set mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth

wal-arḍa madadnāhā wa-alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa-anbatnā fīhā min kulli zawjin bahīji

50:8

تَبۡصِرَةࣰ وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبۡدࣲ مُّنِیبࣲ ۝٨

To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning to God

tabṣiratan wadhik'rā likulli ʿabdin munībi

50:9

وَنَزَّلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ مُّبَـٰرَكࣰا فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَحَبَّ ٱلۡحَصِیدِ ۝٩

And We send down from the sky, rain charged with blessings, and We produce with it gardens and grain for harvest

wanazzalnā mina l-samāi māan mubārakan fa-anbatnā bihi jannātin waḥabba l-ḥaṣīd

50:10

وَٱلنَّخۡلَ بَاسِقَـٰتࣲ لَّهَا طَلۡعࣱ نَّضِیدࣱ ۝١٠

And tall palm trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another

wal-nakhla bāsiqātin lahā ṭalʿun naḍīdu

50:11

رِّزۡقࣰا لِّلۡعِبَادِۖ وَأَحۡیَیۡنَا بِهِۦ بَلۡدَةࣰ مَّیۡتࣰاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡخُرُوجُ ۝١١

Bilal Muhammad 2018

As sustenance for God's servants. And We give life with it to land that is dead, as will be the resurrection

riz'qan lil'ʿibādi wa-aḥyaynā bihi baldatan maytan kadhālika l-khurūj

50:12

كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحࣲ وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ ۝١٢

Before them, was denied the hereafter by the people of Noah, the companions of the Rass, the Thamud

kadhabat qablahum qawmu nūḥin wa-aṣḥābu l-rasi wathamūd

50:13

وَعَادࣱ وَفِرۡعَوۡنُ وَإِخۡوَ ٰنُ لُوطࣲ ۝١٣

The ‘Ad, Pharaoh, the brothers of Lot

waʿādun wafir'ʿawnu wa-ikh'wānu lūṭi

50:14

وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأَیۡكَةِ وَقَوۡمُ تُبَّعࣲۚ كُلࣱّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِیدِ ۝١٤

The companions of the Wood, and the people of Touba. Each one rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled

wa-aṣḥābu l-aykati waqawmu tubbaʿin kullun kadhaba l-rusula faḥaqqa waʿīd

50:15

أَفَعَیِینَا بِٱلۡخَلۡقِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِی لَبۡسࣲ مِّنۡ خَلۡقࣲ جَدِیدࣲ ۝١٥

And did We tire during the first creation, so that they should be in confused doubt about a new creation

afaʿayīnā bil-khalqi l-awali bal hum fī labsin min khalqin jadīdi

50:16

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفۡسُهُۥۖ وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَیۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ ٱلۡوَرِیدِ ۝١٦

It was We Who created the human being, and We know what suggestions their soul makes to them, for We are nearer to them than their jugular vein

walaqad khalaqnā l-insāna wanaʿlamu mā tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanaḥnu aqrabu ilayhi min ḥabli l-warīd

50:17

إِذۡ یَتَلَقَّى ٱلۡمُتَلَقِّیَانِ عَنِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِیدࣱ ۝١٧

Imagine two guardian angels appointed to observe, one sitting on the right and one on the left

idh yatalaqqā l-mutalaqiyāni ʿani l-yamīni waʿani l-shimāli qaʿīdu

50:18

مَّا یَلۡفِظُ مِن قَوۡلٍ إِلَّا لَدَیۡهِ رَقِیبٌ عَتِیدࣱ ۝١٨

Not a word do they utter, except that there is with him a ready observer

mā yalfiẓu min qawlin illā ladayhi raqībun ʿatīdu

50:19

وَجَاۤءَتۡ سَكۡرَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ ذَ ٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنۡهُ تَحِیدُ ۝١٩

And the shock at death will bring truth, “This was the thing which you were trying to escape.

wajāat sakratu l-mawti bil-ḥaqi dhālika mā kunta min'hu taḥīd

50:20

وَنُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمُ ٱلۡوَعِیدِ ۝٢٠

And the trumpet will be blown. That will be the day when warning will be given

wanufikha fī l-ṣūri dhālika yawmu l-waʿīd

50:21

وَجَاۤءَتۡ كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ مَّعَهَا سَاۤىِٕقࣱ وَشَهِیدࣱ ۝٢١

And there will come forward every soul. With each will be an angel to drive, and an angel to bear witness

wajāat kullu nafsin maʿahā sāiqun washahīdu

50:22

لَّقَدۡ كُنتَ فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفۡنَا عَنكَ غِطَاۤءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ حَدِیدࣱ ۝٢٢

It will be said, “You were heedless of this, now We have removed your veil, and sharp is your sight this day.

laqad kunta fī ghaflatin min hādhā fakashafnā ʿanka ghiṭāaka fabaṣaruka l-yawma ḥadīdu

50:23

وَقَالَ قَرِینُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَیَّ عَتِیدٌ ۝٢٣

And his companion will say, “Here is his record ready with me.

waqāla qarīnuhu hādhā mā ladayya ʿatīdu

50:24

أَلۡقِیَا فِی جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِیدࣲ ۝٢٤

“Throw into hell, every stubborn rejecter

alqiyā fī jahannama kulla kaffārin ʿanīdi

50:25

مَّنَّاعࣲ لِّلۡخَیۡرِ مُعۡتَدࣲ مُّرِیبٍ ۝٢٥

“Who made forbidden what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions

mannāʿin lil'khayri muʿ'tadin murībi

50:26

ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلۡقِیَاهُ فِی ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِیدِ ۝٢٦

Bilal Muhammad 2018

“And who established another god beside God. Throw him into a severe penalty.

alladhī jaʿala maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara fa-alqiyāhu fī l-ʿadhābi l-shadīd

50:27

۞ قَالَ قَرِینُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَاۤ أَطۡغَیۡتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِی ضَلَـٰلِۭ بَعِیدࣲ ۝٢٧

Bilal Muhammad 2018

His companion will say, “Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he was himself far astray.

qāla qarīnuhu rabbanā mā aṭghaytuhu walākin kāna fī ḍalālin baʿīdi

50:28

قَالَ لَا تَخۡتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَیَّ وَقَدۡ قَدَّمۡتُ إِلَیۡكُم بِٱلۡوَعِیدِ ۝٢٨

Bilal Muhammad 2018

He will say, “Do not dispute with each other in My presence. I had already in advance sent warning

qāla lā takhtaṣimū ladayya waqad qaddamtu ilaykum bil-waʿīd

50:29

مَا یُبَدَّلُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ لَدَیَّ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمࣲ لِّلۡعَبِیدِ ۝٢٩

Bilal Muhammad 2018

“The word does not change before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My servants.

mā yubaddalu l-qawlu ladayya wamā anā biẓallāmin lil'ʿabīd

50:30

یَوۡمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمۡتَلَأۡتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلۡ مِن مَّزِیدࣲ ۝٣٠

Bilal Muhammad 2018

One day We will ask hell, “Are you filled to capacity?” It will say, “Are there any more?

yawma naqūlu lijahannama hali im'talati wataqūlu hal min mazīdi

50:31

وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِینَ غَیۡرَ بَعِیدٍ ۝٣١

Bilal Muhammad 2018

And the garden will be brought near to the righteous, no more a thing distant

wa-uz'lifati l-janatu lil'muttaqīna ghayra baʿīdi

50:32

هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِیظࣲ ۝٣٢

This is what was promised to you. Everyone who turned in sincere repentance, and who are saved

hādhā mā tūʿadūna likulli awwābin ḥafīẓi

50:33

مَّنۡ خَشِیَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنَ بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَجَاۤءَ بِقَلۡبࣲ مُّنِیبٍ ۝٣٣

Bilal Muhammad 2018

“Who had been conscious of God, the Merciful Benefactor, Unseen, and who brought a heart turned in devotion

man khashiya l-raḥmāna bil-ghaybi wajāa biqalbin munībi

50:34

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمࣲۖ ذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمُ ٱلۡخُلُودِ ۝٣٤

Bilal Muhammad 2018

“Enter there in peace and security, this is a day of eternal life.

ud'khulūhā bisalāmin dhālika yawmu l-khulūd

50:35

لَهُم مَّا یَشَاۤءُونَ فِیهَا وَلَدَیۡنَا مَزِیدࣱ ۝٣٥

There will be for them all that they wish, and even more in Our presence

lahum mā yashāūna fīhā waladaynā mazīdu

50:36

وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡنٍ هُمۡ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشࣰا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡبِلَـٰدِ هَلۡ مِن مَّحِیصٍ ۝٣٦

But how many generations before them did We destroy who were stronger in power than they were? Then they wandered through the land. Was there any place of escape for them

wakam ahlaknā qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu min'hum baṭshan fanaqqabū fī l-bilādi hal min maḥīṣi

50:37

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلۡبٌ أَوۡ أَلۡقَى ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَهُوَ شَهِیدࣱ ۝٣٧

Indeed in this is a message for any who has a heart and understanding, or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses

inna fī dhālika ladhik'rā liman kāna lahu qalbun aw alqā l-samʿa wahuwa shahīdu

50:38

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا فِی سِتَّةِ أَیَّامࣲ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبࣲ ۝٣٨

We created the heavens and the earth, and all between them in six days, and no sense of weariness touched Us

walaqad khalaqnā l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā fī sittati ayyāmin wamā massanā min lughūbi

50:39

فَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَا یَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ قَبۡلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَقَبۡلَ ٱلۡغُرُوبِ ۝٣٩

So bear with patience all that they say, praise your Lord, before the rising of the Sun and before its setting

fa-iṣ'bir ʿalā mā yaqūlūna wasabbiḥ biḥamdi rabbika qabla ṭulūʿi l-shamsi waqabla l-ghurūb

50:40

وَمِنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَأَدۡبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ ۝٤٠

And during part of the night, praise Him, and after the positions of adoration

wamina al-layli fasabbiḥ'hu wa-adbāra l-sujūd

50:41

وَٱسۡتَمِعۡ یَوۡمَ یُنَادِ ٱلۡمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانࣲ قَرِیبࣲ ۝٤١

And listen for the day when the caller will call out from a near place

wa-is'tamiʿ yawma yunādi l-munādi min makānin qarībi

50:42

یَوۡمَ یَسۡمَعُونَ ٱلصَّیۡحَةَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمُ ٱلۡخُرُوجِ ۝٤٢

The day when they will hear a mighty blast. In fact, that will be the Day of Resurrection

yawma yasmaʿūna l-ṣayḥata bil-ḥaqi dhālika yawmu l-khurūj

50:43

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِیتُ وَإِلَیۡنَا ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝٤٣

Indeed it is We Who give life and death, and to Us is the final goal

innā naḥnu nuḥ'yī wanumītu wa-ilaynā l-maṣīr

50:44

یَوۡمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ عَنۡهُمۡ سِرَاعࣰاۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ حَشۡرٌ عَلَیۡنَا یَسِیرࣱ ۝٤٤

The day when the earth will be split asunder from people hurrying out. That will be a gathering together that is easy for Us

yawma tashaqqaqu l-arḍu ʿanhum sirāʿan dhālika ḥashrun ʿalaynā yasīru

50:45

نَّحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَقُولُونَۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ عَلَیۡهِم بِجَبَّارࣲۖ فَذَكِّرۡ بِٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مَن یَخَافُ وَعِیدِ ۝٤٥

We know best what they say, and you are not one to overwhelm them by force. So advise with the Quran, those who fear My warning

naḥnu aʿlamu bimā yaqūlūna wamā anta ʿalayhim bijabbārin fadhakkir bil-qur'āni man yakhāfu waʿīd
