۞ ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ ۝١
Mir Aneesuddin
The truth!
al-ḥāqat
69:2 ›
مَا ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ ۝٢
Mir Aneesuddin
What is the truth?
mā l-ḥāqat
69:3 ›
وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ ۝٣
Mir Aneesuddin
And what will make you realize what the truth is?
wamā adrāka mā l-ḥāqat
69:4 ›
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ ۝٤
Mir Aneesuddin
Samood and Aad denied the disaster.
kadhabat thamūdu waʿādun bil-qāriʿat
69:5 ›
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِیَةِ ۝٥
Mir Aneesuddin
So as for Samood, they were destroyed by the thunder and lightning.
fa-ammā thamūdu fa-uh'likū bil-ṭāghiyat
69:6 ›
وَأَمَّا عَادࣱ فَأُهۡلِكُوا۟ بِرِیحࣲ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِیَةࣲ ۝٦
Mir Aneesuddin
And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a violently furious wind,
wa-ammā ʿādun fa-uh'likū birīḥin ṣarṣarin ʿātiyati
69:7 ›
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَیَالࣲ وَثَمَـٰنِیَةَ أَیَّامٍ حُسُومࣰاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِیهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِیَةࣲ ۝٧
Mir Aneesuddin
which He imposed on them for seven nights and eight days continuously, so that you could see people lying therein, overthrown as if they were the hollow trunks of date palms.
sakharahā ʿalayhim sabʿa layālin wathamāniyata ayyāmin ḥusūman fatarā l-qawma fīhā ṣarʿā ka-annahum aʿjāzu nakhlin khāwiyati
69:8 ›
فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِیَةࣲ ۝٨
Mir Aneesuddin
So do you see anyone of them remaining?
fahal tarā lahum min bāqiyati
69:9 ›
وَجَاۤءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَـٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ ۝٩
Mir Aneesuddin
And Firawn and those before him and the overthrown cities, (all) were involved in faults,
wajāa fir'ʿawnu waman qablahu wal-mu'tafikātu bil-khāṭi-at
69:10 ›
فَعَصَوۡا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةࣰ رَّابِیَةً ۝١٠
Mir Aneesuddin
so they disobeyed the messenger of their Fosterer therefore He seized them with a severe seizure.
faʿaṣaw rasūla rabbihim fa-akhadhahum akhdhatan rābiyata
69:11 ›
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَاۤءُ حَمَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡجَارِیَةِ ۝١١
Mir Aneesuddin
When the water overflowed We carried you in the ship,
innā lammā ṭaghā l-māu ḥamalnākum fī l-jāriyat
69:12 ›
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةࣰ وَتَعِیَهَاۤ أُذُنࣱ وَ ٰعِیَةࣱ ۝١٢
Mir Aneesuddin
so as to make it a reminder for you and that remembering ears may keep it in memory.
linajʿalahā lakum tadhkiratan wataʿiyahā udhunun wāʿiyatu
69:13 ›
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةࣱ وَ ٰحِدَةࣱ ۝١٣
Mir Aneesuddin
So when it will be blown into the trumpet (structure of the universe, with) a single blowing,
fa-idhā nufikha fī l-ṣūri nafkhatun wāḥidatu
69:14 ›
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ ۝١٤
Mir Aneesuddin
and the earth will be carried away with the mountains then crushed to pieces with a single crushing,
waḥumilati l-arḍu wal-jibālu fadukkatā dakkatan wāḥidata
69:15 ›
فَیَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ ۝١٥
Mir Aneesuddin
then on that day the event will befall.
fayawma-idhin waqaʿati l-wāqiʿat
69:16 ›
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ فَهِیَ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَاهِیَةࣱ ۝١٦
Mir Aneesuddin
And the sky will be split asunder, so that day it will be weak .
wa-inshaqqati l-samāu fahiya yawma-idhin wāhiyatu
69:17 ›
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰۤ أَرۡجَاۤىِٕهَاۚ وَیَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ ثَمَـٰنِیَةࣱ ۝١٧
Mir Aneesuddin
And the angels will be on its sides, and on that day, eight will bear the throne of your Fosterer above them.
wal-malaku ʿalā arjāihā wayaḥmilu ʿarsha rabbika fawqahum yawma-idhin thamāniyatu
69:18 ›
یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِیَةࣱ ۝١٨
Mir Aneesuddin
On that day all of you will be presented, no secret of yours will be hidden.
yawma-idhin tuʿ'raḍūna lā takhfā minkum khāfiyatu
69:19 ›
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِیَمِینِهِۦ فَیَقُولُ هَاۤؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُوا۟ كِتَـٰبِیَهۡ ۝١٩
Mir Aneesuddin
So, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, “Take read my record,
fa-ammā man ūtiya kitābahu biyamīnihi fayaqūlu hāumu iq'raū kitābiya
69:20 ›
إِنِّی ظَنَنتُ أَنِّی مُلَـٰقٍ حِسَابِیَهۡ ۝٢٠
Mir Aneesuddin
I was expecting that I would certainly encounter my account (of deeds).”
innī ẓanantu annī mulāqin ḥisābiya
69:21 ›
فَهُوَ فِی عِیشَةࣲ رَّاضِیَةࣲ ۝٢١
Mir Aneesuddin
So he will be in a pleasant life,
fahuwa fī ʿīshatin rāḍiyati
69:22 ›
فِی جَنَّةٍ عَالِیَةࣲ ۝٢٢
Mir Aneesuddin
in a high garden,
fī jannatin ʿāliyati
69:23 ›
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِیَةࣱ ۝٢٣
Mir Aneesuddin
the clusters of which will be near.
quṭūfuhā dāniyatu
69:24 ›
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشۡرَبُوا۟ هَنِیۤءَۢا بِمَاۤ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَیَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِیَةِ ۝٢٤
Mir Aneesuddin
(It will be said to him), “Eat and drink pleasantly because of that which you sent before you during the days that are gone (i.e. during the life of the world).”
kulū wa-ish'rabū hanīan bimā aslaftum fī l-ayāmi l-khāliyat
69:25 ›
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَیَقُولُ یَـٰلَیۡتَنِی لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِیَهۡ ۝٢٥
Mir Aneesuddin
And as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “I wish my record had not been given to me,
wa-ammā man ūtiya kitābahu bishimālihi fayaqūlu yālaytanī lam ūta kitābiya
69:26 ›
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِیَهۡ ۝٢٦
Mir Aneesuddin
and I had not known what my account (of deeds) was,
walam adri mā ḥisābiya
69:27 ›
یَـٰلَیۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِیَةَ ۝٢٧
Mir Aneesuddin
1 wish the (death) had made an end of me,
yālaytahā kānati l-qāḍiyat
69:28 ›
مَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّی مَالِیَهۡۜ ۝٢٨
Mir Aneesuddin
my wealth has not made me carefree from (this),
mā aghnā ʿannī māliya
69:29 ›
هَلَكَ عَنِّی سُلۡطَـٰنِیَهۡ ۝٢٩
Mir Aneesuddin
my authority has gone away from me.”
halaka ʿannī sul'ṭāniya
69:30 ›
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ۝٣٠
Mir Aneesuddin
(It will be said), “Catch him then chain him,
khudhūhu faghullūh
69:31 ›
ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِیمَ صَلُّوهُ ۝٣١
Mir Aneesuddin
then make him enter the hell,
thumma l-jaḥīma ṣallūh
69:32 ›
ثُمَّ فِی سِلۡسِلَةࣲ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعࣰا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ ۝٣٢
Mir Aneesuddin
then make him to enter into a chain, the length of which is seventy cubits*. * The length of the forearm from the elbow to the extremity of the middle finger.
thumma fī sil'silatin dharʿuhā sabʿūna dhirāʿan fa-us'lukūh
69:33 ›
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٣٣
Mir Aneesuddin
He had not believed in Allah, the Great
innahu kāna lā yu'minu bil-lahi l-ʿaẓīm
69:34 ›
وَلَا یَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِینِ ۝٣٤
Mir Aneesuddin
and he had not urged on the feeding of the poor
walā yaḥuḍḍu ʿalā ṭaʿāmi l-mis'kīn
69:35 ›
فَلَیۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِیمࣱ ۝٣٥
Mir Aneesuddin
so he (too) this day, has no intimate friend here
falaysa lahu l-yawma hāhunā ḥamīmu
69:36 ›
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِینࣲ ۝٣٦
Mir Aneesuddin
nor any food except the corruption from the washings of wounds,
walā ṭaʿāmun illā min ghis'līni
69:37 ›
لَّا یَأۡكُلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَـٰطِءُونَ ۝٣٧
Mir Aneesuddin
none will eat it except the defaulters.”
lā yakuluhu illā l-khāṭiūn
2 False Allegations refuted
69:38 ›
فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣٨
Mir Aneesuddin
So I do swear by that which you see
falā uq'simu bimā tub'ṣirūn
69:39 ›
وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٣٩
Mir Aneesuddin
and that which you do not see (that):
wamā lā tub'ṣirūn
69:40 ›
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولࣲ كَرِیمࣲ ۝٤٠
Mir Aneesuddin
This (Quran) is certainly the word of an honoured messenger,
innahu laqawlu rasūlin karīmi
69:41 ›
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرࣲۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٤١
Mir Aneesuddin
and it is not a word of a poet, little is it that you believe,
wamā huwa biqawli shāʿirin qalīlan mā tu'minūn
69:42 ›
وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنࣲۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٢
Mir Aneesuddin
and it is not a word of a soothsayer, little is it that you mind,
walā biqawli kāhinin qalīlan mā tadhakkarūn
69:43 ›
تَنزِیلࣱ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٤٣
Mir Aneesuddin
(it has been) sent down from the Fosterer of the worlds.
tanzīlun min rabbi l-ʿālamīn
69:44 ›
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِیلِ ۝٤٤
Mir Aneesuddin
And had he said some words about Us on his own behalf (and attributed them to Us, then),
walaw taqawwala ʿalaynā baʿḍa l-aqāwīl
69:45 ›
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡیَمِینِ ۝٤٥
Mir Aneesuddin
We would have seized him by his right hand
la-akhadhnā min'hu bil-yamīn
69:46 ›
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِینَ ۝٤٦
Mir Aneesuddin
then We would have cut off the artery of his heart,
thumma laqaṭaʿnā min'hu l-watīn
69:47 ›
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَـٰجِزِینَ ۝٤٧
Mir Aneesuddin
and not one of you could have withheld Us from him.
famā minkum min aḥadin ʿanhu ḥājizīn
69:48 ›
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةࣱ لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٤٨
Mir Aneesuddin
And it is certainly a reminder for those who guard (against evil).
wa-innahu latadhkiratun lil'muttaqīn
69:49 ›
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِینَ ۝٤٩
Mir Aneesuddin
And We certainly know that among you are deniers.
wa-innā lanaʿlamu anna minkum mukadhibīn
69:50 ›
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٥٠
Mir Aneesuddin
And it will certainly be (a source of) regret for the infidels.
wa-innahu laḥasratun ʿalā l-kāfirīn
69:51 ›
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡیَقِینِ ۝٥١
Mir Aneesuddin
And surely it is the truth (deserving) certainty.
wa-innahu laḥaqqu l-yaqīn
69:52 ›
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٥٢
Mir Aneesuddin
So glorify the name of your Great Fosterer.
fasabbiḥ bi-is'mi rabbika l-ʿaẓīm
