Women 4:83

أَذَاعُوا۟ adhāʿū

وَلَوْ walaw

رَدُّوهُ raddūhu
they (had) referred it V
إِلَى ilā
to Prep
ٱلرَّسُولِ l-rasūli
the Messenger Noun
وَإِلَىٰٓ wa-ilā
and to Prep
أُو۟لِى ulī
those Noun
ٱلْأَمْرِ l-amri
(having) authority Noun
مِنْهُمْ min'hum
among them Prep
لَعَلِمَهُ laʿalimahu
surely would have known it V
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna
those who Noun
يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ yastanbiṭūnahu
draw correct conclusion (from) it V
مِنْهُمْ min'hum
among them Prep
وَلَوْلَا walawlā
And if not Prep
فَضْلُ faḍlu
(had been the) bounty Noun
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi
(of) Allah Noun
عَلَيْكُمْ ʿalaykum
on you Prep
وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ waraḥmatuhu
and His Mercy Noun
لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ la-ittabaʿtumu
surely you (would have) followed V
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ l-shayṭāna
the Shaitaan Noun
إِلَّا illā
except Prep
قَلِيلًا qalīlan
a few Noun

Whenever news of any matter comes to them, whether concerning peace or war, they spread it about; if they referred it to the Messenger and those in authority among them, those seeking its meaning would have found it out from them. If it were not for God’s bounty and mercy towards you, you would almost all have followed Satan

وَإِذَا جَاۤءَهُمۡ أَمۡرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡنِ أَوِ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ أَذَاعُوا۟ بِهِۦۖ وَلَوۡ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰۤ أُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنۡهُمۡ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَسۡتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعۡتُمُ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰا ۝٨٣

wa-idhā jāahum amrun mina l-amni awi l-khawfi adhāʿū bihi walaw raddūhu ilā l-rasūli wa-ilā ulī l-amri min'hum laʿalimahu alladhīna yastanbiṭūnahu min'hum walawlā faḍlu l-lahi ʿalaykum waraḥmatuhu la-ittabaʿtumu l-shayṭāna illā qalīla
