وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِیلࣰا وَأَكۡدَىٰۤ ٣٤
wa-aʿṭā qalīlan wa-akd
he only gave a little and then he stopped
He gave a little (amount of money), then he stopped (giving).
And gave little, and then stopped
Who gives but little, and is niggardly
Who gave little, then refrained (from giving)!
and gives little, and that grudgingly?
gave a little and held off
He has given (the needy) a little, then he is stern (in not giving)
And gives but a little (in the cause of Allah) and does it grudgingly
and gives a little, and then grudgingly
and gave a little and was stingy?
and was stingy in charity
Gives a little, then hardens

who gives but little and then stops
And he gave a little, then refrained
