`But the more I call them the more they flee (from me)
but my calling has only increased them in flight
but my invitation only increased (their) running away,
But my calls have made them more and more daring and challenging
“But my call only increases their flight from right
but my call has only made them flee the more.
and my call did but increase them in flight
“So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.”
But my call increased them in nothing except in flight.”
but my calling only increaseth their aversion
"But my call has only increased their flight (from truth)
but my call has only increased them in running away
and my cry doth but make them flee from me the more
But my preaching (and propagation) has not increased them except in flight
but my supplication increases not but their running away.
“But my call only increases their flight.
but my plea has only added to their aversion
but the more I called, the farther they fled

every time I call them, so that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their garments, persist in their rejection, and grow more insolent and arrogant
Surely! Every time I called to them that Allah might forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride.
And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked
And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence
“The more I invited them to your forgiveness, the more they put their fingers into their ears, covered themselves with their garments and persisted in their ways (beliefs) becoming more and more arrogant.”
Indeed, every time I called them to Your forgiveness, they put their fingers in their ears, wrapped themselves up in their clothes and were overweeningly arrogant.
Indeed whenever I have summoned them, so that You might forgive them, they would put their fingers into their ears and draw their cloaks over their heads, and they were persistent [in their unfaith], and disdainful in [their] arrogance
"And every time I have called them so that You may forgive them, they have thrust their fingers in their ears, and wrapped themselves up in their garments, and grown obstinate and more and more arrogant (in refusing my call)
`As often as I called them to You so that You might protect them (against the commitment of further sins and also against the evil consequences of their sins) they plugged their ears with their fingers, and drew their cloaks around them (and thus covered their hearts), and persisted (in their stubbornness and denial) and behaved in an extremely insolent manner
And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud
and indeed, every time I invited them so that You forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and covered themselves with their clothes and insisted and were extremely arrogant.
Anytime that I have given them the good news of your promises to forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover themselves with their cloths and arrogantly avoid me
“And every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance
And indeed, every time I called them, that You may forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments and insisted and became extremely arrogant.
and, verily, every time I called them, that Thou mightest pardon them, they placed their fingers in their ears and tried to cover themselves with their garments and persisted, and were very big with pride
“And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.”
And indeed each time I call them so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and they cover their faces with their dresses and they persisted and they grew more arrogant in their arrogance.
And whensoever I call them to the true faith, that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and cover themselves with their garments, and persist in their infidelity, and proudly disdain my counsel
"And whenever I have called them that you may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, grow obstinate and puffed up with pride
Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becomingvery proud
So oft as I cry to them, that thou mayest forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves in their garments, and persist in their error, and are disdainfully disdainful
And truly I, every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves up with their garments and insisted (on their wrong beliefs) and behaved with pride in arrogance, patronising seriously arrogant pride
And, truly, as often as I called to them that Thou wouldst forgive them, they laid their fingertips over their ears and covered themselves with their garments. And they maintained growing arrogant as they grew arrogant.
“Every time I have called to them so You might forgive them, they have thrust their fingers into their ears. [They have] pulled their garments over themselves, become obstinate, and acquired arrogance.
Each time I called on them to seek Your pardon, they thrust their fingers in their ears and drew their cloaks over their heads, persisting in sin and puffing themselves up with insolent pride
And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud
And whenever I call to them Thou mayest forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are big with pride
And whenever I invited them that You will protectively forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and covered, themselves with garments and persisted (in refusing) and considered themselves great (due to) pride.
"And, indeed, whenever I preached to them [to come to the Right Path] so that You might forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up in their garments, grew obstinate, and became arrogant with false pride."
And every time I called them (towards faith) so that You might forgive them, they only thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped their clothes over themselves and stuck obstinately (to disbelief) and behaved most arrogantly
"And every time I called on them so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and they covered their heads with their outer garments and they insisted, and they became greatly arrogant."
"And every time I called on them so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and they covered their heads with their outer garments and they insisted, and they became greatly arrogant.
And every time I called on them so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and they covered their heads with their outer garments and they insisted, and they became greatly arrogant.
And that I, whenever I called them (for You) to forgive for them, they made/put their fingers in their ears, and they covered/darkened themselves (with) their clothes/garments , and they persisted/insisted, and they became arrogant, arrogantly
And behold, whenever I called unto them with a view to Thy granting them forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves up in their garments [of sin]; and grew obstinate, and became [yet more] arrogant in their false pride
And surely whenever I call them that You may forgive them, they set (Literally: made "up") their fingers in their ears, and enveloped themselves with their clothes, and persisted, and waxed proud (with insolent) arrogance (Literally: in "arrogant" pride)
And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride
Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance
Whenever I called them, so that You might forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped their clothes around themselves, and grew obstinate, and waxed proud in extreme arrogance
Whenever I invite them (to embrace the true monotheistic faith), so that You may forgive them. They thrust their fingers in their ears, covering themselves with their garments, persisting (in ignoring my preaching), and displaying an arrogant attitude (towards Faith) with excessive pride.
"In fact, whenever I call them (to say) that You might forgive them, they stick their fingers in their ears. They (hide their faces and) wrap their clothes around them (in defiance). They grew obstinate and became (rude and insulting, and) increasingly arrogant."
And indeed whenever I call them to affirm their Faith in You so that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, cover themselves with their garments, persist in denial and display an arrogant attitude (toward Your authority) with excessive pride.
"As often as I invited them to present them with inducements to follow your Commendable path and merit your forgiveness, their ears counseled deaf, and in obstinacy they hugged to their hearts their old irreverent conviction of disbelief, hid their faces and overweened themselves in arrogance and inordinate self-esteem"
Each time I invited them to Your forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, persisted in their disbelief and were thoroughly arrogant.
And whenever I invite them to be forgiven by You, they press their fingers into their ears, cover themselves with their clothes, persist ˹in denial˺, and act very arrogantly.
And each time I call them so You forgive them, they place their fingers in their ears and pull their clothes over themselves and persist and are arrogant.
Each time I call on them to seek Your pardon, they thrust their fingers into their ears and draw their cloaks over their heads, persisting in sin and bearing themselves with insolent pride
"Whenever I invited them to be forgiven by You, they placed their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their clothes, insisted, and turned arrogant.
Every time I called them to Your forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, wrapped themselves in their garments, and insisted, and became increasingly more arrogant.
Every time I called them to Your forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, wrapped themselves in their garments, and insisted, and became increasingly more arrogant.
And whenever I called them that You may forgive them, they set up their fingers into their ears, and over-covered themselves in their garments, and insisted, and arrogated, great arrogance.
And, behold, whenever I call unto them to be forgiven by You, they thrust their fingers in their ears - and veil themselves in their garments. And they persist in this behavior glorifying themselves in pride. (11:5)
And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride
`And every time I called them that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, and drew close their garments, and persisted in their iniquities and were disdainfully proud
Truly whenever I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, persist, and wax most arrogant
"And verily, every time I have called to them, that You may forgive them, they have (only) pushed their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their clothes, grown firmer (against faith), and given themselves up to false pride
Whenever I urged them to seek Your forgiveness, they would stick their fingers in their ears, cover their heads with their garments, persist in their stubbornness, and grow increasingly arrogant.
Whenever I called them to Your forgiveness, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves in their garments, and insisted, and became more and more arrogant
And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance
And indeed I, every time I called them that You may forgive them, they placed their fingers in their ears and covered themselves with their garments and persisted and were proud, being haughty.
"And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance

I have tried calling them openly
Surely, I called them openly (aloud),
Then verily have called Unto them publicly
Then I called them loudly and more openly
“Then I invited them openly.”
Then I called them openly.
Again I summoned them aloud
"Then I have called them in a loud (emphatic) manner
`Then I invited them (to You) openly

I have tried preaching to them in public and speaking to them in private
then surely, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private,
Then verily spake Unto them openly, and secretly also I addressed them
And declared to them in public and in private

Then I addressed them publicly and addressed them privately.
and again appealed to them publicly and confided with them privately
