Muhammad 47:38

فَإِنَّمَا fa-innamā

نَّفْسِهِۦ nafsihi

وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu
But Allah Noun
ٱلْغَنِىُّ l-ghaniyu

وَأَنتُمُ wa-antumu

ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ l-fuqarāu
(are) the needy Noun
وَإِن wa-in
And if Prep
تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ tatawallaw
you turn away V
يَسْتَبْدِلْ yastabdil
He will replace you V
قَوْمًا qawman
(with) a people Noun
غَيْرَكُمْ ghayrakum
other than you Noun
ثُمَّ thumma
then Prep
لَا lā
not Prep
يَكُونُوٓا۟ yakūnū
they will be V
أَمْثَٰلَكُم amthālakum
(the) likes of you Noun

though now you are called upon to give [a little] for the sake of God, some of you are grudging. Whoever is grudging is so only towards himself: God is the source of wealth and you are the needy ones. He will substitute other people for you if you turn away, and they will not be like you

Arabic Text

هَـٰۤأَنتُمۡ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ تُدۡعَوۡنَ لِتُنفِقُوا۟ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ فَمِنكُم مَّن یَبۡخَلُۖ وَمَن یَبۡخَلۡ فَإِنَّمَا یَبۡخَلُ عَن نَّفۡسِهِۦۚ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلۡغَنِیُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَاۤءُۚ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوۡا۟ یَسۡتَبۡدِلۡ قَوۡمًا غَیۡرَكُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا یَكُونُوۤا۟ أَمۡثَـٰلَكُم ۝٣٨

hāantum hāulāi tud'ʿawna litunfiqū fī sabīli l-lahi faminkum man yabkhalu waman yabkhal fa-innamā yabkhalu ʿan nafsihi wal-lahu l-ghaniyu wa-antumu l-fuqarāu wa-in tatawallaw yastabdil qawman ghayrakum thumma lā yakūnū amthālaku
