ذُكِّرُوا۟ dhukkirū
they had been reminded V
بِهِۦٓ bihi

أَنجَيْنَا anjaynā
We saved V
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna
those who Noun
يَنْهَوْنَ yanhawna
forbade V
عَنِ ʿani
[from] Prep
ٱلسُّوٓءِ l-sūi
the evil Noun
وَأَخَذْنَا wa-akhadhnā
and We seized V
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna
those who Noun
ظَلَمُوا۟ ẓalamū
wronged V
بِعَذَابٍۭ biʿadhābin
with a punishment Noun
بَـِٔيسٍۭ baīsin
wretched Noun
بِمَا bimā
because Noun
كَانُوا۟ kānū
they were V
يَفْسُقُونَ yafsuqūna
defiantly disobeying V

When they ignored [the warning] they were given, We saved those who forbade evil, and punished the wrongdoers severely because of their disobedience

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦۤ أَنجَیۡنَا ٱلَّذِینَ یَنۡهَوۡنَ عَنِ ٱلسُّوۤءِ وَأَخَذۡنَا ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ بِعَذَابِۭ بَءِیسِۭ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡسُقُونَ ۝١٦٥

falammā nasū mā dhukkirū bihi anjaynā alladhīna yanhawna ʿani l-sūi wa-akhadhnā alladhīna ẓalamū biʿadhābin baīsin bimā kānū yafsuqūn
