۞ وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ لِأَبِیهِ ءَازَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصۡنَامًا ءَالِهَةً إِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰكَ وَقَوۡمَكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٧٤
wa-idh qāla ib'rāhīmu li-abīhi āzara atattakhidhu aṣnāman ālihatan innī arāka waqawmaka fī ḍalālin mubīni
64 Translations
Remember when Abraham said to his father, Azar, ‘How can you take idols as gods? I see that you and your people have clearly gone astray.’
And (remember) when Abraham said to his father Azar: “Do you take idols as deities? Surely, I see you and your people in clear error.”
And recall what time Ibrahim said unto his father Azar: takest thou idols for gods! Verily I see thee and thy people in error manifest
Remember when Abraham said to Azar, his father: "Why do you take idols for God? I certainly find you and your people in error."
And when Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take idols as deities? Indeed, I see you and your people in plain corruption.”
Remember when Ibrahim said to his father, Azar, ´Do you take idols as gods? I see that you and your people are clearly misguided.´
When Abraham said to Azar, his father, ‘Do you take idols for gods? Indeed I see you and your people in manifest error.’
And (call to mind) when Abraham spoke to his father Azar: "Do you take idols for deities? Indeed, I see you and your people lost in obvious error."
(Recall the time) when Abraham said to his sire, azar, `Do you worship idols as gods? Surely, I see you and your people (steeped) in clear error.
And when Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Takest thou idols for gods? I see thee, and thy people, in manifest error.
And (remember) when Abraham said to his father Azar: “Do you take idols as gods? I see you and your people are in an obvious error.”
Recall when Abraham declared to Azar (his father): "How can you worship these idols of yours? You people have gone so far in darkness!"
Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take idols for gods? Indeed I see that you and your people are clearly error.
And recall when Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take human-shaped idols for gods? I see that you and your people are indeed in evident misguidance.”
When Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Dost thou take idols for gods? verily, I see thee and thy people in obvious error.
And remember when Ibrahim said to his father (paternal uncle) Azar, “What! You appoint idols as gods? Indeed I find you and your people in open error.” (Prophet Ibrahim was rightly guided since birth)
And when Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take idols for gods? Truly I see you and your people in a misguidance most evident.”
And remember the time when Abraham said to his father, Azar, 'Dost thou take idols for gods? Surely, I see thee and thy people in manifest error.
Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols for gods? Verily, I see you and your people in obvious error."
(And remember) when Abraham said to his father Azar: 'Will you take idols for gods, surely I see you and your people are in clear error.
And remember when Abraham said to his father Azar, Takest thou images as gods? Verily, I see that thou and thy people are in manifest error
And (bring to mind) when Ibrahim said to his father, Azar: “Do you take carved idols as gods? Verily, I see you as well as your nation in manifest error.”
And mention when Abraham said to his father Azar: Hast thou taken idols to thyself as gods? Truly, I see thee and thy folk clearly wandering astray.
Recall that Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you acknowledge idols for gods? I see you and your people in obvious error.”
Tell them about Abraham, who said to Azer, his father: "Are you taking idols for gods? Surely, I see you and your people in manifest error."
And recall when Abraham said to his father, Azar: ´Do you take idols for gods? I see you and your people in obvious error.´
And when Abraham said to his sire, Azar: Takest thou idols for gods? Surely I see thee and thy people in manifest error
And when Ibrahim said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as gods? I certainly see you and your people in clear error."
And when Abraham told his father, Azar, "Do you take idols as gods? I do indeed see you and your people in manifest error."
And recall when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar (he was in fact his paternal uncle and is called father according to Arabic usage): ‘Do you take the idols as gods? Indeed, I find you and your people (engaged) in manifest error.
And Abraham said to his father, Azar: "Will you take idols as gods I see you and your people clearly misguided."
And Abraham said to his father, Azar: "Will you take statues as gods? I see you and your people are clearly misguided."
And Abraham said to his father, Azar: "Will you take statues as gods? I see you and your people are clearly misguided."
And when Abraham said to his father, Azar: "Do you take idols (as) gods? That I see you, and your nation in evident misguidance."
AND, LO, [thus] spoke Abraham unto his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? Verily, I see that thou and thy people have obviously gone astray!"
And as Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar, "Do you take to yourself idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in evident error."
(Remember) when Abraham said unto his father Azar: Takest thou idols for gods? Lo! I see thee and thy folk in error manifest
Consider when Abraham asked his father, Azar, "Why do you believe idols to be your gods? I find you and your people in absolute error"
(Remember) when Ibrahim said to his father, ‘Azar: .Do you take idols for gods? I see you and your people in manifest error
(Mention) when ‘Abraham’ said unto his father, ‘Azar’: “Do you take idols for gods? Indeed, I see you and your people in utter deception."
Remember when Ibraheem said to his father, Azar, "Do you take the idols to be your gods? Indeed, I think you and your nation are definitely in the wrong!"
And (Mention) when Abraham said to his father, Azar: “Do you take idols for gods? Indeed, I see you and your people living in spiritual darkness."
For once did Ibrahim ask his father Azar (Athar) "Do you take figures made of stone and/or wood as godheads? O my father, I do see you and your people lost in the maze of error"
Remember when Ibrahim said to his father, Azar, “Have you taken idols as gods? I see you and your people are misguided.
And ˹remember˺ when Abraham said to his father, Ȃzar, “Do you take idols as gods? It is clear to me that you and your people are entirely misguided.”
And when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar: Do you take idols as gods, I sure see you and your people in clear error.
Tell of Abraham, who said to Azar, his father: ‘Will you worship idols as your gods? I can see that you and your people are in palpable error.‘
Recall that Abraham said to his father Azar, "How could you worship statues as gods? I see that you and your people have gone far astray."
Remember when Abraham spoke to his father Azar, and said, "How can you take idols as gods? I see that you and your people are clearly lost.
Remember when Abraham spoke to his father Azar and said, “How can you take idols as gods? I see that you and your people are clearly lost.”
And when Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take idols as Gods? I surely see you and your kinfolk are in an obvious astray.”
And (remember) when Abraham said to his father 'Azar: ' Do you take idols for gods ? Verily I see you and your people in manifest error '
Thus Abraham said to his father Azar: “Do you take idols for gods? I see that you and your people have obviously gone astray.”
Remember when Abraham said to his father Azar (Terah), "How could you worship idols as gods? I see you and your people are in obvious error." (Azar is called Terah in the Bible and Zarah in Talmud)
And when Ibrahim said to his sire, Azar: Do you take idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in manifest error
And remember the time when Abraham said to his father, Azar, `Dost thou take idols for gods? Surely, I see thee and thy people in manifest error.
And when Abraham said unto his father, Azar, “Do you take idols for gods? Truly I see you and your people in manifest error.
And (remember), Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar: "Will you take idols as gods? Indeed, I see you and your people in open error."
Abraham told his father, Azar, “Do you take idols as gods? I see you and your people are clearly astrayed.”
Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Do you take idols for gods? I see that you and your people are in evident error.'
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as deities? Indeed, I see you and your people to be in manifest error."
And when Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Do you take idols for gods? Indeed, I see you and your people in clear error.'
Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error."
Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error."
