Surah 37. Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers (as-Saffat)

1 Unity will prevail
37:1 ›
وَٱلصَّـٰۤفَّـٰتِ صَفࣰّا ۝١
Ahmed Hulusi
By those (forces that form the various dimensions) lined up in rows.
wal-ṣāfāti ṣaffa
37:2 ›
فَٱلزَّ ٰجِرَ ٰتِ زَجۡرࣰا ۝٢
Ahmed Hulusi
And those who drive away with intensity (the things which prevent and blind one from Allah).
fal-zājirāti zajra
37:3 ›
فَٱلتَّـٰلِیَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۝٣
Ahmed Hulusi
And those who recite the dhikr (remembrance).
fal-tāliyāti dhik'ra
37:4 ›
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمۡ لَوَ ٰحِدࣱ ۝٤
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, (that which you think of as) your god is One (the Wahid)!
inna ilāhakum lawāḥidu
37:5 ›
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ ۝٥
Ahmed Hulusi
He is the Rabb (the One who manifests with His Names) of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, and the Rabb of the Easts (origin – that which will become manifest)!
rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wamā baynahumā warabbu l-mashāriq
37:6 ›
إِنَّا زَیَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا بِزِینَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ ۝٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, We have adorned earth’s heaven (configured man’s brain) with planets (astrological data).
innā zayyannā l-samāa l-dun'yā bizīnatin l-kawākib
37:7 ›
وَحِفۡظࣰا مِّن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ مَّارِدࣲ ۝٧
Ahmed Hulusi
And protected it (earth’s atmosphere) from every rebellious Satan (the purified consciousness is beyond the reach of illusory impulses).
waḥif'ẓan min kulli shayṭānin māridi
37:8 ›
لَّا یَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ وَیُقۡذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبࣲ ۝٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Thus they (those devils) cannot listen to the exalted assembly (Mala-i Ala) and are pelted from every side.
lā yassammaʿūna ilā l-mala-i l-aʿlā wayuq'dhafūna min kulli jānibi
37:9 ›
دُحُورࣰاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ وَاصِبٌ ۝٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Rejected... For them is a constant suffering.
duḥūran walahum ʿadhābun wāṣibu
37:10 ›
إِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ ٱلۡخَطۡفَةَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ ثَاقِبࣱ ۝١٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Except if one snatches a word, a blazing flame shall pursue him.
illā man khaṭifa l-khaṭfata fa-atbaʿahu shihābun thāqibu
37:11 ›
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَهُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَم مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَاۤۚ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّن طِینࣲ لَّازِبِۭ ۝١١
Ahmed Hulusi
So, ask them (those who deny you) what they think. Are they more powerful in terms of their creation or (those) that We created? Indeed, We created man from a sticky clay.
fa-is'taftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan am man khalaqnā innā khalaqnāhum min ṭīnin lāzibi
37:12 ›
بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَیَسۡخَرُونَ ۝١٢
Ahmed Hulusi
No, you are surprised by their mockery.
bal ʿajib'ta wayaskharūn
37:13 ›
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا یَذۡكُرُونَ ۝١٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Even when they are reminded, they do not remember and take heed!
wa-idhā dhukkirū lā yadhkurūn
37:14 ›
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡا۟ ءَایَةࣰ یَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ ۝١٤
Ahmed Hulusi
When they see a sign, they ridicule it.
wa-idhā ra-aw āyatan yastaskhirūn
37:15 ›
وَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِینٌ ۝١٥
Ahmed Hulusi
They say, “This is plainly an effect of sorcery.”
waqālū in hādhā illā siḥ'run mubīnu
37:16 ›
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ۝١٦
Ahmed Hulusi
“Will we really be resurrected after we die and become dust and bones?”
a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamabʿūthūn
37:17 ›
أَوَ ءَابَاۤؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝١٧
Ahmed Hulusi
“Along with our forefathers?”
awaābāunā l-awalūn
37:18 ›
قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دَ ٰخِرُونَ ۝١٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Say, “Yes, indeed! (You shall be resurrected) with your heads lowered and in misery.”
qul naʿam wa-antum dākhirūn
37:19 ›
فَإِنَّمَا هِیَ زَجۡرَةࣱ وَ ٰحِدَةࣱ فَإِذَا هُمۡ یَنظُرُونَ ۝١٩
Ahmed Hulusi
A single cry and then they will be looking on!
fa-innamā hiya zajratun wāḥidatun fa-idhā hum yanẓurūn
37:20 ›
وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٢٠
Ahmed Hulusi
“Woe to us! This is the Day of Religion!” they will say.
waqālū yāwaylanā hādhā yawmu l-dīn
37:21 ›
هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢١
Ahmed Hulusi
“This is the time of discernment, which you denied!”
hādhā yawmu l-faṣli alladhī kuntum bihi tukadhibūn
2 The Judgment
37:22 ›
۞ ٱحۡشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزۡوَ ٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٢٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Gather those wrongdoers (individual consciousness) and their partners (the bodies) and the things they deified and served...
uḥ'shurū alladhīna ẓalamū wa-azwājahum wamā kānū yaʿbudūn
37:23 ›
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٢٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Besides Allah! And send them to path of Hell!
min dūni l-lahi fa-ih'dūhum ilā ṣirāṭi l-jaḥīm
37:24 ›
وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡءُولُونَ ۝٢٤
Ahmed Hulusi
Stop them! Indeed, they are responsible!
waqifūhum innahum masūlūn
37:25 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ ۝٢٥
Ahmed Hulusi
What is wrong with you (today) that you are not helping each other?
mā lakum lā tanāṣarūn
37:26 ›
بَلۡ هُمُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ ۝٢٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Rather, today, they have succumbed and surrendered!
bal humu l-yawma mus'taslimūn
37:27 ›
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٢٧
Ahmed Hulusi
They will question and blame each other!
wa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn
37:28 ›
قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَأۡتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ ۝٢٨
Ahmed Hulusi
“Indeed, you came to us from the right (as though you are informing us of the Truth)?”
qālū innakum kuntum tatūnanā ʿani l-yamīn
37:29 ›
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمۡ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٢٩
Ahmed Hulusi
“No, rather, you yourselves did not believe (in what you were taught)!”
qālū bal lam takūnū mu'minīn
37:30 ›
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَیۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَـٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا طَـٰغِینَ ۝٣٠
Ahmed Hulusi
“And we had no authority over you... But you were a transgressing people.”
wamā kāna lanā ʿalaykum min sul'ṭānin bal kuntum qawman ṭāghīn
37:31 ›
فَحَقَّ عَلَیۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَاۤۖ إِنَّا لَذَاۤىِٕقُونَ ۝٣١
Ahmed Hulusi
“But now our Rabb’s word has come into effect! Now we are bound to taste (the suffering).”
faḥaqqa ʿalaynā qawlu rabbinā innā ladhāiqūn
37:32 ›
فَأَغۡوَیۡنَـٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِینَ ۝٣٢
Ahmed Hulusi
“We led you astray, but indeed we were astray!”
fa-aghwaynākum innā kunnā ghāwīn
37:33 ›
فَإِنَّهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ فِی ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ ۝٣٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, they will be partners in the suffering.
fa-innahum yawma-idhin fī l-ʿadhābi mush'tarikūn
37:34 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝٣٤
Ahmed Hulusi
This is how We deal with those who are guilty of duality!
innā kadhālika nafʿalu bil-muj'rimīn
37:35 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۤا۟ إِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمۡ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ۝٣٥
Ahmed Hulusi
When they were told to accept the Truth, “There is no god, only Allah,” they were egocentric!
innahum kānū idhā qīla lahum lā ilāha illā l-lahu yastakbirūn
37:36 ›
وَیَقُولُونَ أَىِٕنَّا لَتَارِكُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرࣲ مَّجۡنُونِۭ ۝٣٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Saying, “Shall we leave our gods for a poet possessed?”
wayaqūlūna a-innā latārikū ālihatinā lishāʿirin majnūni
37:37 ›
بَلۡ جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٣٧
Ahmed Hulusi
No, rather, he has come as the Truth and confirmed the Rasuls.
bal jāa bil-ḥaqi waṣaddaqa l-mur'salīn
37:38 ›
إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَاۤىِٕقُوا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِیمِ ۝٣٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, you will be tasters of the painful suffering!
innakum ladhāiqū l-ʿadhābi l-alīm
37:39 ›
وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٣٩
Ahmed Hulusi
And you will not be recompensed, except for what you did (your own actions)!
wamā tuj'zawna illā mā kuntum taʿmalūn
37:40 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٤٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Except for (exempt from suffering are) Allah’s servants who have been guided to sincerity (purity).
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:41 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝٤١
Ahmed Hulusi
There is a known (pre-determined) provision for them.
ulāika lahum riz'qun maʿlūmu
37:42 ›
فَوَ ٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكۡرَمُونَ ۝٤٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Fruits (the products of the forces they attained)... They will be receivers of generosity (the Name Karim).
fawākihu wahum muk'ramūn
37:43 ›
فِی جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ ۝٤٣
Ahmed Hulusi
In the Paradises of Bliss.
fī jannāti l-naʿīm
37:44 ›
عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٤٤
Ahmed Hulusi
On thrones facing one another.
yuṭāfu ʿalayhim bikasin min maʿīni
37:45 ›
یُطَافُ عَلَیۡهِم بِكَأۡسࣲ مِّن مَّعِینِۭ ۝٤٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Cups (forces) from a flowing spring (the reality of the Names) are passed around.
Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin
37:46 ›
بَیۡضَاۤءَ لَذَّةࣲ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِینَ ۝٤٦
Ahmed Hulusi
White (with the light of gnosis) cups (forces) and pleasing to the drinkers (its users).
bayḍāa ladhatin lilshāribīn
37:47 ›
لَا فِیهَا غَوۡلࣱ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا یُنزَفُونَ ۝٤٧
Ahmed Hulusi
There is no deviating effect in them... Nor will they be intoxicated from it (they will never lose consciousness)!
lā fīhā ghawlun walā hum ʿanhā yunzafūn
37:48 ›
وَعِندَهُمۡ قَـٰصِرَ ٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِینࣱ ۝٤٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Besides them will be those whose glances will be directed upon them, illuminating (their lives).
waʿindahum qāṣirātu l-ṭarfi ʿīnu
37:49 ›
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَیۡضࣱ مَّكۡنُونࣱ ۝٤٩
Ahmed Hulusi
As though they are eggs closely guarded (assisting in the manifestation of inherent forces).
ka-annahunna bayḍun maknūnu
37:50 ›
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٥٠
Ahmed Hulusi
They (those in Paradise) will approach one another and inquire.
fa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn
37:51 ›
قَالَ قَاۤىِٕلࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّی كَانَ لِی قَرِینࣱ ۝٥١
Ahmed Hulusi
One among them will say, “Indeed, I had a friend.”
qāla qāilun min'hum innī kāna lī qarīnu
37:52 ›
یَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِینَ ۝٥٢
Ahmed Hulusi
“Who used to say, ‘Are you really of those who confirm (this knowledge)?’”
yaqūlu a-innaka lamina l-muṣadiqīn
37:53 ›
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِینُونَ ۝٥٣
Ahmed Hulusi
“Will we really be recompensed once we have died and become dust and bones?”
a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamadīnūn
37:54 ›
قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ۝٥٤
Ahmed Hulusi
He will say, “Have you witnessed (this event you speak of)?”
qāla hal antum muṭṭaliʿūn
37:55 ›
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِی سَوَاۤءِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٥٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Now they have experienced this, in fact they saw him right in the middle of Hell.
fa-iṭṭalaʿa faraāhu fī sawāi l-jaḥīm
37:56 ›
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِینِ ۝٥٦
Ahmed Hulusi
He said, “By Allah, you almost rolled me into this pit.”
qāla tal-lahi in kidtta latur'dīn
37:57 ›
وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّی لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِینَ ۝٥٧
Ahmed Hulusi
“Had it not been for the favor of my Rabb, I would definitely have been of those brought forcefully before the gate (of Hell).”
walawlā niʿ'matu rabbī lakuntu mina l-muḥ'ḍarīn
37:58 ›
أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَیِّتِینَ ۝٥٨
Ahmed Hulusi
“Are we not of those who are freed from the condition (restriction) of the body?”
afamā naḥnu bimayyitīn
37:59 ›
إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِینَ ۝٥٩
Ahmed Hulusi
“Except for our first experience of death (we shall not die again)! And we are not to be punished either.”
illā mawtatanā l-ūlā wamā naḥnu bimuʿadhabīn
37:60 ›
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِیمُ ۝٦٠
Ahmed Hulusi
“Indeed, this is the great success.”
inna hādhā lahuwa l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīm
37:61 ›
لِمِثۡلِ هَـٰذَا فَلۡیَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَـٰمِلُونَ ۝٦١
Ahmed Hulusi
So let those who work, work for this!
limith'li hādhā falyaʿmali l-ʿāmilūn
37:62 ›
أَذَ ٰلِكَ خَیۡرࣱ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ۝٦٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Is this better, in terms of disclosure, or the Zaqqum tree (the person’s body)? (Up to here, the subject was in regards to the experience of the paradisiacal state of existence, brought into effect by the forces of the Names the person manifests through faith. After this, the subject changes, via various examples and similitudes, to the hellish state of existence produced by the belief ‘I am this body’ and the pursuit of bodily pleasures.)
adhālika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu l-zaqūm
37:63 ›
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَـٰهَا فِتۡنَةࣰ لِّلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٦٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, We made it (the Zaqqum tree – the body) an object of trial (to see if they will remember their essence or if they will live as though they are the body).
innā jaʿalnāhā fit'natan lilẓẓālimīn
37:64 ›
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةࣱ تَخۡرُجُ فِیۤ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٦٤
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, it is a tree (biological body) sourced in Hell (producing the sense of burning).
innahā shajaratun takhruju fī aṣli l-jaḥīm
37:65 ›
طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ ۝٦٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Its fruits (the result of thinking you are the body) are like the heads of the devils (the instinctual impulses).
ṭalʿuhā ka-annahu ruūsu l-shayāṭīn
37:66 ›
فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَءَاكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِءُونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ ۝٦٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, they will eat from it (throughout their worldly life) and fill their bellies with it.
fa-innahum laākilūna min'hā famāliūna min'hā l-buṭūn
37:67 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَیۡهَا لَشَوۡبࣰا مِّنۡ حَمِیمࣲ ۝٦٧
Ahmed Hulusi
After this there will be scalding water (the ego self) for them.
thumma inna lahum ʿalayhā lashawban min ḥamīmi
37:68 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٦٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Then indeed, their place of return will be Hell.
thumma inna marjiʿahum la-ilā l-jaḥīm
37:69 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ أَلۡفَوۡا۟ ءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ ضَاۤلِّینَ ۝٦٩
Ahmed Hulusi
For they found their forefathers astray (from the reality).
innahum alfaw ābāahum ḍāllīn
37:70 ›
فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمۡ یُهۡرَعُونَ ۝٧٠
Ahmed Hulusi
So they incessantly follow in their footsteps.
fahum ʿalā āthārihim yuh'raʿūn
37:71 ›
وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٧١
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, most of the former people before them had also gone astray (from the reality)!
walaqad ḍalla qablahum aktharu l-awalīn
37:72 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِیهِم مُّنذِرِینَ ۝٧٢
Ahmed Hulusi
And indeed, We had disclosed warners within them.
walaqad arsalnā fīhim mundhirīn
37:73 ›
فَٱنظُرۡ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِینَ ۝٧٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Look at how those who were warned ended up!
fa-unẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mundharīn
37:74 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٧٤
Ahmed Hulusi
Only the servants of Allah, who were guided to sincerity (purity), were exempt from this.
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
3 Noah and Abraham
37:75 ›
وَلَقَدۡ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحࣱ فَلَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمُجِیبُونَ ۝٧٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, Noah had turned to us... And We are the best of responders.
walaqad nādānā nūḥun falaniʿ'ma l-mujībūn
37:76 ›
وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٧٦
Ahmed Hulusi
We saved him and his family from a great affliction.
wanajjaynāhu wa-ahlahu mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm
37:77 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّیَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِینَ ۝٧٧
Ahmed Hulusi
And We continued his progeny.
wajaʿalnā dhurriyyatahu humu l-bāqīn
37:78 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝٧٨
Ahmed Hulusi
And made sure he was remembered by later generations.
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:79 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحࣲ فِی ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Salam be to Noah among the people.
salāmun ʿalā nūḥin fī l-ʿālamīn
37:80 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٨٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Thus We reward the doers of good (those who observe none other than Allah)!
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:81 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨١
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, he is of Our believing servants.
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:82 ›
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡءَاخَرِینَ ۝٨٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Then We drowned the rest (the dualists).
thumma aghraqnā l-ākharīn
37:83 ›
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِیعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٨٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, Abraham was of the same understanding.
wa-inna min shīʿatihi la-ib'rāhīm
37:84 ›
إِذۡ جَاۤءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبࣲ سَلِیمٍ ۝٨٤
Ahmed Hulusi
He had turned to his Rabb with a sound heart (experiencing the reality of the Names in his consciousness)!
idh jāa rabbahu biqalbin salīmi
37:85 ›
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِیهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٨٥
Ahmed Hulusi
When (Abraham) had asked his people, “What are you worshipping?”
idh qāla li-abīhi waqawmihi mādhā taʿbudūn
37:86 ›
أَىِٕفۡكًا ءَالِهَةࣰ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِیدُونَ ۝٨٦
Ahmed Hulusi
“Are you taking gods besides Allah by inventing baseless things?”
a-if'kan ālihatan dūna l-lahi turīdūn
37:87 ›
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٨٧
Ahmed Hulusi
“What do you think the Rabb of the worlds is?”
famā ẓannukum birabbi l-ʿālamīn
37:88 ›
فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةࣰ فِی ٱلنُّجُومِ ۝٨٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Then (Abraham) observed the stars (through his intellect) and contemplated...
fanaẓara naẓratan fī l-nujūm
37:89 ›
فَقَالَ إِنِّی سَقِیمࣱ ۝٨٩
Ahmed Hulusi
He said, “I am sickened (by what you do)!”
faqāla innī saqīmu
37:90 ›
فَتَوَلَّوۡا۟ عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٩٠
Ahmed Hulusi
And they turned away from him and departed.
fatawallaw ʿanhu mud'birīn
37:91 ›
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰۤ ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝٩١
Ahmed Hulusi
So (Abraham) approached their gods and said, “Will you not eat?”
farāgha ilā ālihatihim faqāla alā takulūn
37:92 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنطِقُونَ ۝٩٢
Ahmed Hulusi
“Why won’t you speak?”
mā lakum lā tanṭiqūn
37:93 ›
فَرَاغَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبَۢا بِٱلۡیَمِینِ ۝٩٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Then approaching them he struck the idols with his right hand!
farāgha ʿalayhim ḍarban bil-yamīn
37:94 ›
فَأَقۡبَلُوۤا۟ إِلَیۡهِ یَزِفُّونَ ۝٩٤
Ahmed Hulusi
Upon seeing this, his people came back in a rush.
fa-aqbalū ilayhi yaziffūn
37:95 ›
قَالَ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مَا تَنۡحِتُونَ ۝٩٥
Ahmed Hulusi
(Abraham) said, “How can you take as gods and worship things you carve with your own hands?”
qāla ataʿbudūna mā tanḥitūn
37:96 ›
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٩٦
Ahmed Hulusi
“While it is Allah who created you and all your doings!”
wal-lahu khalaqakum wamā taʿmalūn
37:97 ›
قَالُوا۟ ٱبۡنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنۡیَـٰنࣰا فَأَلۡقُوهُ فِی ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٩٧
Ahmed Hulusi
They said, “Build a furnace and throw him into the burning (fire)!”
qālū ib'nū lahu bun'yānan fa-alqūhu fī l-jaḥīm
37:98 ›
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَیۡدࣰا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِینَ ۝٩٨
Ahmed Hulusi
They intended a trap for him... But We debased them to the lowest of the low.
fa-arādū bihi kaydan fajaʿalnāhumu l-asfalīn
37:99 ›
وَقَالَ إِنِّی ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّی سَیَهۡدِینِ ۝٩٩
Ahmed Hulusi
(Abraham) said, “Indeed, I will go to my Rabb... He will guide me.”
waqāla innī dhāhibun ilā rabbī sayahdīn
37:100 ›
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١٠٠
Ahmed Hulusi
(Abraham) said, “My Rabb, grant me from among the righteous!”
rabbi hab lī mina l-ṣāliḥīn
37:101 ›
فَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِیمࣲ ۝١٠١
Ahmed Hulusi
So We gave him the good news of a Halim son.
fabasharnāhu bighulāmin ḥalīmi
37:102 ›
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعۡیَ قَالَ یَـٰبُنَیَّ إِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰ فِی ٱلۡمَنَامِ أَنِّیۤ أَذۡبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرَىٰۚ قَالَ یَـٰۤأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُۖ سَتَجِدُنِیۤ إِن شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝١٠٢
Ahmed Hulusi
When (his son Ishmael) reached the age when he could walk with him (Abraham) said, “O my son! Indeed, I have seen in my dream that I was sacrificing you... What do you say about this?” (His son) said, “O my father... Do as you are commanded! InshaAllah, you will find me to be of the patient.”
falammā balagha maʿahu l-saʿya qāla yābunayya innī arā fī l-manāmi annī adhbaḥuka fa-unẓur mādhā tarā qāla yāabati if'ʿal mā tu'maru satajidunī in shāa l-lahu mina l-ṣābirīn
37:103 ›
فَلَمَّاۤ أَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلۡجَبِینِ ۝١٠٣
Ahmed Hulusi
And when they had both submitted and he lay him (Ishmael) down upon his forehead...
falammā aslamā watallahu lil'jabīn
37:104 ›
وَنَـٰدَیۡنَـٰهُ أَن یَـٰۤإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝١٠٤
Ahmed Hulusi
We called out to him, “O Abraham!”
wanādaynāhu an yāib'rāhīm
37:105 ›
قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ ٱلرُّءۡیَاۤۚ إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٠٥
Ahmed Hulusi
“You have indeed fulfilled your dream... Thus We requite (enable the consequences upon) the doers of good (those who observe none other than the Truth).”
qad ṣaddaqta l-ru'yā innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:106 ›
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰۤؤُا۟ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ۝١٠٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, this is a clear affliction (a learning experience that leads to awareness/comprehension)!
inna hādhā lahuwa l-balāu l-mubīn
37:107 ›
وَفَدَیۡنَـٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝١٠٧
Ahmed Hulusi
And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
wafadaynāhu bidhib'ḥin ʿaẓīmi
37:108 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٠٨
Ahmed Hulusi
And made sure he was remembered by later generations.
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:109 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝١٠٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Salam be to Abraham.
salāmun ʿalā ib'rāhīm
37:110 ›
كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١١٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Thus We requite the doers of good (those who fulfill their servitude as though they can see Allah).
kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:111 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١١١
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, he is of our believing servants.
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:112 ›
وَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِإِسۡحَـٰقَ نَبِیࣰّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١١٢
Ahmed Hulusi
And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Nabi from among the righteous.
wabasharnāhu bi-is'ḥāqa nabiyyan mina l-ṣāliḥīn
37:113 ›
وَبَـٰرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ وَعَلَىٰۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَۚ وَمِن ذُرِّیَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنࣱ وَظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِینࣱ ۝١١٣
Ahmed Hulusi
And We blessed him and Isaac with prosperity... There are doers of good from among both of their descendants and those who clearly wrong themselves.
wabāraknā ʿalayhi waʿalā is'ḥāqa wamin dhurriyyatihimā muḥ'sinun waẓālimun linafsihi mubīnu
4 Moses, Aaron, Elias and Lot
37:114 ›
وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ۝١١٤
Ahmed Hulusi
And We also bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron!
walaqad manannā ʿalā mūsā wahārūn
37:115 ›
وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝١١٥
Ahmed Hulusi
We saved those two and their people from a great affliction.
wanajjaynāhumā waqawmahumā mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm
37:116 ›
وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِینَ ۝١١٦
Ahmed Hulusi
We helped them and they prevailed.
wanaṣarnāhum fakānū humu l-ghālibīn
37:117 ›
وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِینَ ۝١١٧
Ahmed Hulusi
We gave to those two (Moses and Aaron) the explicit knowledge.
waātaynāhumā l-kitāba l-mus'tabīn
37:118 ›
وَهَدَیۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَ ٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِیمَ ۝١١٨
Ahmed Hulusi
And guided them to the straight path.
wahadaynāhumā l-ṣirāṭa l-mus'taqīm
37:119 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمَا فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١١٩
Ahmed Hulusi
And made sure they were remembered by later generations.
wataraknā ʿalayhimā fī l-ākhirīn
37:120 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ۝١٢٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Salam be to Moses and Aaron!
salāmun ʿalā mūsā wahārūn
37:121 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٢١
Ahmed Hulusi
Thus We requite the doers of good (those who serve Allah as though they can see Him)!
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:122 ›
إِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٢٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, both of them were of our believing servants.
innahumā min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:123 ›
وَإِنَّ إِلۡیَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٢٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, Elias was also of those disclosed.
wa-inna il'yāsa lamina l-mur'salīn
37:124 ›
إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦۤ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٢٤
Ahmed Hulusi
When he said to his people, “Will you not protect yourselves?”
idh qāla liqawmihi alā tattaqūn
37:125 ›
أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلࣰا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِینَ ۝١٢٥
Ahmed Hulusi
“Do you worship Baal (a statue with four faces made of gold) and abandon the most beautiful of creators?”
atadʿūna baʿlan watadharūna aḥsana l-khāliqīn
37:126 ›
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَاۤىِٕكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٢٦
Ahmed Hulusi
“Your Rabb is Allah, the Rabb of your forefathers!”
al-laha rabbakum warabba ābāikumu l-awalīn
37:127 ›
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٢٧
Ahmed Hulusi
But they denied him (Elias)! Indeed, they were forcefully brought to presence!
fakadhabūhu fa-innahum lamuḥ'ḍarūn
37:128 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٢٨
Ahmed Hulusi
Except those servants of Allah who have been guided to sincerity (purity).
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:129 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٢٩
Ahmed Hulusi
And we made sure he was remembered by later generations.
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:130 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰۤ إِلۡ یَاسِینَ ۝١٣٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Salam be to those who follow the way of Elias!
salāmun ʿalā il yāsīn
37:131 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٣١
Ahmed Hulusi
Thus We requite the doers of good (those who serve Allah as though they can see Him).
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:132 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٣٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, he is of Our believing servants.
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:133 ›
وَإِنَّ لُوطࣰا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٣٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, Lot was also of those who were disclosed.
wa-inna lūṭan lamina l-mur'salīn
37:134 ›
إِذۡ نَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥۤ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝١٣٤
Ahmed Hulusi
When We saved him and those close to him all together.
idh najjaynāhu wa-ahlahu ajmaʿīn
37:135 ›
إِلَّا عَجُوزࣰا فِی ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ ۝١٣٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Except the old woman (Lot’s wife who was an unbeliever) among those who remained.
illā ʿajūzan fī l-ghābirīn
37:136 ›
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡءَاخَرِینَ ۝١٣٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Then We destroyed the others!
thumma dammarnā l-ākharīn
37:137 ›
وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَیۡهِم مُّصۡبِحِینَ ۝١٣٧
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, you pass by their homes in the morning...
wa-innakum latamurrūna ʿalayhim muṣ'biḥīn
5 Jonah and the Prophet's Triumph
37:138 ›
وَبِٱلَّیۡلِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٣٨
Ahmed Hulusi
And at night... Do you still not use your intellect?
wabi-al-layli afalā taʿqilūn
37:139 ›
وَإِنَّ یُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٣٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, Jonah was also of those who were disclosed (a manifestation of the knowledge of the reality).
wa-inna yūnusa lamina l-mur'salīn
37:140 ›
إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ ۝١٤٠
Ahmed Hulusi
When he ran away to the ship (returned to his ordinary life despite the knowledge of the reality, thinking he was of no benefit to his people).
idh abaqa ilā l-ful'ki l-mashḥūn
37:141 ›
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِینَ ۝١٤١
Ahmed Hulusi
(Jonah) drew lots (made a choice) and was among those whose proof was invalidated (his choice led him astray)...
fasāhama fakāna mina l-mud'ḥaḍīn
37:142 ›
فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِیمࣱ ۝١٤٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Then the fish (the life of the world) swallowed him (Jonah) while he was blaming himself (confused with feelings of guilt);
fal-taqamahu l-ḥūtu wahuwa mulīmu
37:143 ›
فَلَوۡلَاۤ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِینَ ۝١٤٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Had (Jonah) not been of those who remember (their essential function; had he not turned his countenance towards Allah through remembrance – taspih, feeling his essence);
falawlā annahu kāna mina l-musabiḥīn
37:144 ›
لَلَبِثَ فِی بَطۡنِهِۦۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٤٤
Ahmed Hulusi
He (Jonah) would have remained inside the fish until the time of resurrection (he would have remained in a state of corporeality until his time of death).
lalabitha fī baṭnihi ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn
37:145 ›
۞ فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ سَقِیمࣱ ۝١٤٥
Ahmed Hulusi
But We cast him onto the land (where the forces are not known), while he was ill (and worn out).
fanabadhnāhu bil-ʿarāi wahuwa saqīmu
37:146 ›
وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ شَجَرَةࣰ مِّن یَقۡطِینࣲ ۝١٤٦
Ahmed Hulusi
And caused a gourd tree (a trunkless tree) to grow over him (manifested fruits of divine gnosis through him).
wa-anbatnā ʿalayhi shajaratan min yaqṭīni
37:147 ›
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ یَزِیدُونَ ۝١٤٧
Ahmed Hulusi
And disclosed him (Jonah) to a hundred thousand (people) or more.
wa-arsalnāhu ilā mi-ati alfin aw yazīdūn
37:148 ›
فَءَامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٤٨
Ahmed Hulusi
They believed, so We made them live in joy for some time.
faāmanū famattaʿnāhum ilā ḥīni
37:149 ›
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ ۝١٤٩
Ahmed Hulusi
So, ask them (the unbelievers), “Are daughters for your Rabb, while sons are for them?”
fa-is'taftihim alirabbika l-banātu walahumu l-banūn
37:150 ›
أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ إِنَـٰثࣰا وَهُمۡ شَـٰهِدُونَ ۝١٥٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Or did We create the angels as females while they were watching?
am khalaqnā l-malāikata ināthan wahum shāhidūn
37:151 ›
أَلَاۤ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَیَقُولُونَ ۝١٥١
Ahmed Hulusi
Be careful, they slander and say:
alā innahum min if'kihim layaqūlūn
37:152 ›
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝١٥٢
Ahmed Hulusi
“Allah has begotten children (Allah has a son)! Indeed, they are liars!”
walada l-lahu wa-innahum lakādhibūn
37:153 ›
أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِینَ ۝١٥٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Has (Allah) chosen daughters over sons?
aṣṭafā l-banāti ʿalā l-banīn
37:154 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ كَیۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ ۝١٥٤
Ahmed Hulusi
What is wrong with you? How do you make such judgments?
mā lakum kayfa taḥkumūn
37:155 ›
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝١٥٥
Ahmed Hulusi
Do you not remember and think?
afalā tadhakkarūn
37:156 ›
أَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٥٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Or do you have clear evidence?
am lakum sul'ṭānun mubīnu
37:157 ›
فَأۡتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝١٥٧
Ahmed Hulusi
If you are truthful then present what you know!
fatū bikitābikum in kuntum ṣādiqīn
37:158 ›
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَیۡنَهُۥ وَبَیۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبࣰاۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٥٨
Ahmed Hulusi
And they have assumed between Him (Allah) and the jinn (conscious beings outside the human capacity of perception) a connection (i.e. associated divinity to them), but the jinn know well that, indeed, they (who made such assumptions) shall surely be summoned (will realize such a connection does not actually exist)!
wajaʿalū baynahu wabayna l-jinati nasaban walaqad ʿalimati l-jinatu innahum lamuḥ'ḍarūn
37:159 ›
سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝١٥٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Allah is far beyond what they attribute to Him!
sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yaṣifūn
37:160 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٦٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Except those servants of Allah who have been guided to sincerity (purity) (the rest are of those who shall be summoned).
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:161 ›
فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ۝١٦١
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, neither you nor what you worship,
fa-innakum wamā taʿbudūn
37:162 ›
مَاۤ أَنتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ بِفَـٰتِنِینَ ۝١٦٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Can never turn (those who are pure in essence) against Him!
mā antum ʿalayhi bifātinīn
37:163 ›
إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝١٦٣
Ahmed Hulusi
Except those who are to burn in Hell.
illā man huwa ṣāli l-jaḥīm
37:164 ›
وَمَا مِنَّاۤ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝١٦٤
Ahmed Hulusi
(All the manifest angelic forces of the Names will say), “There are none among us without an assigned function!”
wamā minnā illā lahu maqāmun maʿlūmu
37:165 ›
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّاۤفُّونَ ۝١٦٥
Ahmed Hulusi
“Indeed, it is us, yes us, who are lined up in rows (forming the dimensions of existence and all that is contained within them).”
wa-innā lanaḥnu l-ṣāfūn
37:166 ›
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ ۝١٦٦
Ahmed Hulusi
“Indeed, it is us, yes us, who engage in taspih (effectuate their servitude by fulfilling their functions).”
wa-innā lanaḥnu l-musabiḥūn
37:167 ›
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَیَقُولُونَ ۝١٦٧
Ahmed Hulusi
Indeed, they (the dualists) were saying:
wa-in kānū layaqūlūn
37:168 ›
لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٦٨
Ahmed Hulusi
“If only we had been passed down the knowledge from our forefathers...”
law anna ʿindanā dhik'ran mina l-awalīn
37:169 ›
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٦٩
Ahmed Hulusi
“Surely, we would also have been of the servants of Allah who have been guided to sincerity (purity).”
lakunnā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:170 ›
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١٧٠
Ahmed Hulusi
But now they denied the knowledge of the reality... Soon they will know!
fakafarū bihi fasawfa yaʿlamūn
37:171 ›
وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٧١
Ahmed Hulusi
And Our word has been fulfilled for Our disclosed servants:
walaqad sabaqat kalimatunā liʿibādinā l-mur'salīn
37:172 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ ۝١٧٢
Ahmed Hulusi
That indeed, they will be given victory.
innahum lahumu l-manṣūrūn
37:173 ›
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝١٧٣
Ahmed Hulusi
And indeed, Our soldiers are victorious!
wa-inna jundanā lahumu l-ghālibūn
37:174 ›
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٧٤
Ahmed Hulusi
So leave them for a time!
fatawalla ʿanhum ḥattā ḥīni
37:175 ›
وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ یُبۡصِرُونَ ۝١٧٥
Ahmed Hulusi
And observe them... Soon they will see!
wa-abṣir'hum fasawfa yub'ṣirūn
37:176 ›
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا یَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ ۝١٧٦
Ahmed Hulusi
Do they want to hasten the manifestation of Our punishment (death)? (Death is the beginning of suffering for those who deny their essential reality, while grace for the believers.)
afabiʿadhābinā yastaʿjilūn
37:177 ›
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَاۤءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِینَ ۝١٧٧
Ahmed Hulusi
How wretched is the awakening of those who were forewarned when it befalls them!
fa-idhā nazala bisāḥatihim fasāa ṣabāḥu l-mundharīn
37:178 ›
وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٧٨
Ahmed Hulusi
So leave them for a time.
watawalla ʿanhum ḥattā ḥīni
37:179 ›
وَأَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ یُبۡصِرُونَ ۝١٧٩
Ahmed Hulusi
Observe them... Soon they will see.
wa-abṣir fasawfa yub'ṣirūn
37:180 ›
سُبۡحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝١٨٠
Ahmed Hulusi
Your Rabb, the possessor of might, is far beyond what they ascribe!
sub'ḥāna rabbika rabbi l-ʿizati ʿammā yaṣifūn
37:181 ›
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٨١
Ahmed Hulusi
Salam be to those who have been disclosed!
wasalāmun ʿalā l-mur'salīn
37:182 ›
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٨٢
Ahmed Hulusi
Hamd belongs to the Rabb of the worlds.
wal-ḥamdu lillahi rabbi l-ʿālamīn
