Surah 37. Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers (as-Saffat)

1 Unity will prevail
37:1 ›
وَٱلصَّـٰۤفَّـٰتِ صَفࣰّا ۝١
M. Farook Malik
By those who range themselves in rank
wal-ṣāfāti ṣaffa
37:2 ›
فَٱلزَّ ٰجِرَ ٰتِ زَجۡرࣰا ۝٢
M. Farook Malik
and by those who cast out demons
fal-zājirāti zajra
37:3 ›
فَٱلتَّـٰلِیَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۝٣
M. Farook Malik
and by those who proclaim the message
fal-tāliyāti dhik'ra
37:4 ›
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمۡ لَوَ ٰحِدࣱ ۝٤
M. Farook Malik
: surely your God is One
inna ilāhakum lawāḥidu
37:5 ›
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ ۝٥
M. Farook Malik
the Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the easts
rabbu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wamā baynahumā warabbu l-mashāriq
37:6 ›
إِنَّا زَیَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا بِزِینَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ ۝٦
M. Farook Malik
We have indeed decked the worldly heaven with beautiful star
innā zayyannā l-samāa l-dun'yā bizīnatin l-kawākib
37:7 ›
وَحِفۡظࣰا مِّن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ مَّارِدࣲ ۝٧
M. Farook Malik
and have secured it against all obstinate rebellious Satans
waḥif'ẓan min kulli shayṭānin māridi
37:8 ›
لَّا یَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ وَیُقۡذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبࣲ ۝٨
M. Farook Malik
They cannot even hear the words of the exalted assembly of angels and they are darted at from every sid
lā yassammaʿūna ilā l-mala-i l-aʿlā wayuq'dhafūna min kulli jānibi
37:9 ›
دُحُورࣰاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ وَاصِبٌ ۝٩
M. Farook Malik
they are repulsed and are under a constant chastisement
duḥūran walahum ʿadhābun wāṣibu
37:10 ›
إِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ ٱلۡخَطۡفَةَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ ثَاقِبࣱ ۝١٠
M. Farook Malik
Eavesdroppers are persuaded by a flaming fire of piercing brightness
illā man khaṭifa l-khaṭfata fa-atbaʿahu shihābun thāqibu
37:11 ›
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَهُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَم مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَاۤۚ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّن طِینࣲ لَّازِبِۭ ۝١١
M. Farook Malik
Ask them: "What is more difficult - their creation or the rest of Our creation? - Them We have created out of a sticky clay
fa-is'taftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan am man khalaqnā innā khalaqnāhum min ṭīnin lāzibi
37:12 ›
بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَیَسۡخَرُونَ ۝١٢
M. Farook Malik
You marvel at the wonders of Allah’s creation, while they ridicule at it
bal ʿajib'ta wayaskharūn
37:13 ›
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا یَذۡكُرُونَ ۝١٣
M. Farook Malik
When they are admonished, they pay no heed
wa-idhā dhukkirū lā yadhkurūn
37:14 ›
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡا۟ ءَایَةࣰ یَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ ۝١٤
M. Farook Malik
and when they see a sign, they mock at i
wa-idhā ra-aw āyatan yastaskhirūn
37:15 ›
وَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِینٌ ۝١٥
M. Farook Malik
and say: "This is nothing but plain sorcery
waqālū in hādhā illā siḥ'run mubīnu
37:16 ›
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ۝١٦
M. Farook Malik
What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be raised to life agai
a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamabʿūthūn
37:17 ›
أَوَ ءَابَاۤؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ۝١٧
M. Farook Malik
- we and also our forefathers of the ancient time?"
awaābāunā l-awalūn
37:18 ›
قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دَ ٰخِرُونَ ۝١٨
M. Farook Malik
Tell them: "Yes and you shall be held up to shame."
qul naʿam wa-antum dākhirūn
37:19 ›
فَإِنَّمَا هِیَ زَجۡرَةࣱ وَ ٰحِدَةࣱ فَإِذَا هُمۡ یَنظُرُونَ ۝١٩
M. Farook Malik
It will be just a single cry, and they will see it all with their own eyes
fa-innamā hiya zajratun wāḥidatun fa-idhā hum yanẓurūn
37:20 ›
وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٢٠
M. Farook Malik
Ah, woe to us! They shall exclaim, "this is the Day of Judgement!"
waqālū yāwaylanā hādhā yawmu l-dīn
37:21 ›
هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢١
M. Farook Malik
It will be said: "Yes, this is the same Day of Judgement which you used to deny."
hādhā yawmu l-faṣli alladhī kuntum bihi tukadhibūn
2 The Judgment
37:22 ›
۞ ٱحۡشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزۡوَ ٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٢٢
M. Farook Malik
It will be commanded: "Gather all the wrongdoers, their spouses and those whom they used to worshi
uḥ'shurū alladhīna ẓalamū wa-azwājahum wamā kānū yaʿbudūn
37:23 ›
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٢٣
M. Farook Malik
besides Allah and show them the way to hell
min dūni l-lahi fa-ih'dūhum ilā ṣirāṭi l-jaḥīm
37:24 ›
وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡءُولُونَ ۝٢٤
M. Farook Malik
When they will all be gathered and angels will start pushing them towards hell, Allah shall say: "Stop for a while, they have to be questioned
waqifūhum innahum masūlūn
37:25 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ ۝٢٥
M. Farook Malik
What is the matter with you today that you do not help each other
mā lakum lā tanāṣarūn
37:26 ›
بَلۡ هُمُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ ۝٢٦
M. Farook Malik
Nay! On that Day they shall all be submissive
bal humu l-yawma mus'taslimūn
37:27 ›
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٢٧
M. Farook Malik
Some of them will step forward to question one another
wa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn
37:28 ›
قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَأۡتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ ۝٢٨
M. Farook Malik
The followers will say to their leaders: "It was you who used to come at us from the right hand and forced us towards the wrong way."
qālū innakum kuntum tatūnanā ʿani l-yamīn
37:29 ›
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمۡ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٢٩
M. Farook Malik
They will reply: "Nay! But it was you who had no faith
qālū bal lam takūnū mu'minīn
37:30 ›
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَیۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَـٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا طَـٰغِینَ ۝٣٠
M. Farook Malik
We had no power over you, the fact is that you were an inordinate people
wamā kāna lanā ʿalaykum min sul'ṭānin bal kuntum qawman ṭāghīn
37:31 ›
فَحَقَّ عَلَیۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَاۤۖ إِنَّا لَذَاۤىِٕقُونَ ۝٣١
M. Farook Malik
true is the verdict which Our Lord has passed upon us, we shall indeed taste the punishment of our sins
faḥaqqa ʿalaynā qawlu rabbinā innā ladhāiqūn
37:32 ›
فَأَغۡوَیۡنَـٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِینَ ۝٣٢
M. Farook Malik
We misled you, for we ourselves were astray."
fa-aghwaynākum innā kunnā ghāwīn
37:33 ›
فَإِنَّهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ فِی ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ ۝٣٣
M. Farook Malik
So on that Day they shall all be partners in the punishment
fa-innahum yawma-idhin fī l-ʿadhābi mush'tarikūn
37:34 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝٣٤
M. Farook Malik
Thus, shall We deal with the criminals
innā kadhālika nafʿalu bil-muj'rimīn
37:35 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۤا۟ إِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمۡ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ یَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ۝٣٥
M. Farook Malik
for when they were told: "There is no god except Allah," they used to puff themselves up with prid
innahum kānū idhā qīla lahum lā ilāha illā l-lahu yastakbirūn
37:36 ›
وَیَقُولُونَ أَىِٕنَّا لَتَارِكُوۤا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرࣲ مَّجۡنُونِۭ ۝٣٦
M. Farook Malik
and say: "What! Should we give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?"
wayaqūlūna a-innā latārikū ālihatinā lishāʿirin majnūni
37:37 ›
بَلۡ جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٣٧
M. Farook Malik
Whereas he had come with the truth and had confirmed the message of prior Messengers
bal jāa bil-ḥaqi waṣaddaqa l-mur'salīn
37:38 ›
إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَاۤىِٕقُوا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِیمِ ۝٣٨
M. Farook Malik
Then it will be said: "You are surely going to taste the painful punishment
innakum ladhāiqū l-ʿadhābi l-alīm
37:39 ›
وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٣٩
M. Farook Malik
and this reward is nothing except what you had done
wamā tuj'zawna illā mā kuntum taʿmalūn
37:40 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٤٠
M. Farook Malik
But the sincere devotees of Alla
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:41 ›
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝٤١
M. Farook Malik
shall have familiar sustenanc
ulāika lahum riz'qun maʿlūmu
37:42 ›
فَوَ ٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكۡرَمُونَ ۝٤٢
M. Farook Malik
- fruits, and shall be honore
fawākihu wahum muk'ramūn
37:43 ›
فِی جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ ۝٤٣
M. Farook Malik
in the gardens of delight
fī jannāti l-naʿīm
37:44 ›
عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٤٤
M. Farook Malik
Reclining face to face upon soft couches
yuṭāfu ʿalayhim bikasin min maʿīni
37:45 ›
یُطَافُ عَلَیۡهِم بِكَأۡسࣲ مِّن مَّعِینِۭ ۝٤٥
M. Farook Malik
they shall be served with goblets filled at a fountain of wine
Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin
37:46 ›
بَیۡضَاۤءَ لَذَّةࣲ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِینَ ۝٤٦
M. Farook Malik
a crystal-white drink, delicious to those who drink it
bayḍāa ladhatin lilshāribīn
37:47 ›
لَا فِیهَا غَوۡلࣱ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا یُنزَفُونَ ۝٤٧
M. Farook Malik
It will neither dull their senses nor they will become drunk
lā fīhā ghawlun walā hum ʿanhā yunzafūn
37:48 ›
وَعِندَهُمۡ قَـٰصِرَ ٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِینࣱ ۝٤٨
M. Farook Malik
And beside them there will be bashful, dark big beautiful-eyed virgins
waʿindahum qāṣirātu l-ṭarfi ʿīnu
37:49 ›
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَیۡضࣱ مَّكۡنُونࣱ ۝٤٩
M. Farook Malik
as if they were delicate eggs closely guarded
ka-annahunna bayḍun maknūnu
37:50 ›
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٥٠
M. Farook Malik
Some of them will be asking questions to others
fa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn
37:51 ›
قَالَ قَاۤىِٕلࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّی كَانَ لِی قَرِینࣱ ۝٥١
M. Farook Malik
One of them will say: "I had a frien
qāla qāilun min'hum innī kāna lī qarīnu
37:52 ›
یَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِینَ ۝٥٢
M. Farook Malik
who used to ask: ‘Are you really of those who affirm (the message of Islam)
yaqūlu a-innaka lamina l-muṣadiqīn
37:53 ›
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِینُونَ ۝٥٣
M. Farook Malik
When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we ever be brought to judgement?’"
a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamadīnūn
37:54 ›
قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ۝٥٤
M. Farook Malik
It will be said: "Would you like to see him?"
qāla hal antum muṭṭaliʿūn
37:55 ›
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِی سَوَاۤءِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٥٥
M. Farook Malik
He will look down and see his friend in the midst of hellfire
fa-iṭṭalaʿa faraāhu fī sawāi l-jaḥīm
37:56 ›
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِینِ ۝٥٦
M. Farook Malik
Then he will say: "By Allah! You had almost ruined me
qāla tal-lahi in kidtta latur'dīn
37:57 ›
وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّی لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِینَ ۝٥٧
M. Farook Malik
Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those who are brought there
walawlā niʿ'matu rabbī lakuntu mina l-muḥ'ḍarīn
37:58 ›
أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَیِّتِینَ ۝٥٨
M. Farook Malik
Is it not so that we shall not di
afamā naḥnu bimayyitīn
37:59 ›
إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِینَ ۝٥٩
M. Farook Malik
after our first death and that we shall not be chastised?"
illā mawtatanā l-ūlā wamā naḥnu bimuʿadhabīn
37:60 ›
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِیمُ ۝٦٠
M. Farook Malik
Most surely it is a mighty achievement
inna hādhā lahuwa l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīm
37:61 ›
لِمِثۡلِ هَـٰذَا فَلۡیَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَـٰمِلُونَ ۝٦١
M. Farook Malik
For such an end, let every one strive who wishes to strive
limith'li hādhā falyaʿmali l-ʿāmilūn
37:62 ›
أَذَ ٰلِكَ خَیۡرࣱ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ۝٦٢
M. Farook Malik
Is this a better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum
adhālika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu l-zaqūm
37:63 ›
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَـٰهَا فِتۡنَةࣰ لِّلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٦٣
M. Farook Malik
Surely We have made this tree a trial for the wrongdoers
innā jaʿalnāhā fit'natan lilẓẓālimīn
37:64 ›
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةࣱ تَخۡرُجُ فِیۤ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٦٤
M. Farook Malik
Surely it is a tree that grows in the bottom of the hellfire
innahā shajaratun takhruju fī aṣli l-jaḥīm
37:65 ›
طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ ۝٦٥
M. Farook Malik
bearing fruits as if they were heads of Satans
ṭalʿuhā ka-annahu ruūsu l-shayāṭīn
37:66 ›
فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَءَاكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِءُونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ ۝٦٦
M. Farook Malik
on it they shall feed and with it they shall fill their bellies
fa-innahum laākilūna min'hā famāliūna min'hā l-buṭūn
37:67 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَیۡهَا لَشَوۡبࣰا مِّنۡ حَمِیمࣲ ۝٦٧
M. Farook Malik
Then on top of that, they will be given a concoction made from boiling water
thumma inna lahum ʿalayhā lashawban min ḥamīmi
37:68 ›
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٦٨
M. Farook Malik
Then to hellfire they shall be returned
thumma inna marjiʿahum la-ilā l-jaḥīm
37:69 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ أَلۡفَوۡا۟ ءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ ضَاۤلِّینَ ۝٦٩
M. Farook Malik
In fact, they found their fathers on the wrong path
innahum alfaw ābāahum ḍāllīn
37:70 ›
فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمۡ یُهۡرَعُونَ ۝٧٠
M. Farook Malik
and they are eagerly following their footsteps
fahum ʿalā āthārihim yuh'raʿūn
37:71 ›
وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٧١
M. Farook Malik
Most of the ancients went astray before them
walaqad ḍalla qablahum aktharu l-awalīn
37:72 ›
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِیهِم مُّنذِرِینَ ۝٧٢
M. Farook Malik
though We had sent Warners to them
walaqad arsalnā fīhim mundhirīn
37:73 ›
فَٱنظُرۡ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِینَ ۝٧٣
M. Farook Malik
See what was the end of those who had been forewarned: they all perished
fa-unẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-mundharīn
37:74 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٧٤
M. Farook Malik
except the sincere devotees of Allah
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
3 Noah and Abraham
37:75 ›
وَلَقَدۡ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحࣱ فَلَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمُجِیبُونَ ۝٧٥
M. Farook Malik
Noah prayed to Us; see how excellent was Our response to his prayer
walaqad nādānā nūḥun falaniʿ'ma l-mujībūn
37:76 ›
وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝٧٦
M. Farook Malik
We delivered him and his people from the mighty distress
wanajjaynāhu wa-ahlahu mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm
37:77 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّیَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِینَ ۝٧٧
M. Farook Malik
and made his progeny to be the only survivors
wajaʿalnā dhurriyyatahu humu l-bāqīn
37:78 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝٧٨
M. Farook Malik
and We left his good name among the later generations
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:79 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحࣲ فِی ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٩
M. Farook Malik
SaLotation to Noah among the people of the worlds
salāmun ʿalā nūḥin fī l-ʿālamīn
37:80 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٨٠
M. Farook Malik
Thus do We reward the righteous
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:81 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨١
M. Farook Malik
Surely he was one of Our believing devotees
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:82 ›
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡءَاخَرِینَ ۝٨٢
M. Farook Malik
Then the rest We drowned in the great flood
thumma aghraqnā l-ākharīn
37:83 ›
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِیعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٨٣
M. Farook Malik
Surely Abraham belonged to the first group
wa-inna min shīʿatihi la-ib'rāhīm
37:84 ›
إِذۡ جَاۤءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبࣲ سَلِیمٍ ۝٨٤
M. Farook Malik
when he came to his Lord with a pure heart
idh jāa rabbahu biqalbin salīmi
37:85 ›
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِیهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٨٥
M. Farook Malik
Behold, he said to his father and to his people: "What are these that you worship
idh qāla li-abīhi waqawmihi mādhā taʿbudūn
37:86 ›
أَىِٕفۡكًا ءَالِهَةࣰ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِیدُونَ ۝٨٦
M. Farook Malik
Would you serve false gods instead of Allah
a-if'kan ālihatan dūna l-lahi turīdūn
37:87 ›
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٨٧
M. Farook Malik
What is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?"
famā ẓannukum birabbi l-ʿālamīn
37:88 ›
فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةࣰ فِی ٱلنُّجُومِ ۝٨٨
M. Farook Malik
Then he looked at the stars one tim
fanaẓara naẓratan fī l-nujūm
37:89 ›
فَقَالَ إِنِّی سَقِیمࣱ ۝٨٩
M. Farook Malik
and said "I am feeling sick."
faqāla innī saqīmu
37:90 ›
فَتَوَلَّوۡا۟ عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٩٠
M. Farook Malik
So his people left him behind and went away to their national fair
fatawallaw ʿanhu mud'birīn
37:91 ›
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰۤ ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ۝٩١
M. Farook Malik
He sneaked into the temple of their gods and addressed them: "Why don’t you eat from these offerings before you
farāgha ilā ālihatihim faqāla alā takulūn
37:92 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنطِقُونَ ۝٩٢
M. Farook Malik
What is the matter with you that you don’t even speak?"
mā lakum lā tanṭiqūn
37:93 ›
فَرَاغَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبَۢا بِٱلۡیَمِینِ ۝٩٣
M. Farook Malik
Then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand
farāgha ʿalayhim ḍarban bil-yamīn
37:94 ›
فَأَقۡبَلُوۤا۟ إِلَیۡهِ یَزِفُّونَ ۝٩٤
M. Farook Malik
The people came running to the scene
fa-aqbalū ilayhi yaziffūn
37:95 ›
قَالَ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مَا تَنۡحِتُونَ ۝٩٥
M. Farook Malik
Would you worship that which you have carved with your own hands, he said
qāla ataʿbudūna mā tanḥitūn
37:96 ›
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٩٦
M. Farook Malik
when Allah is the One Who created you and that which you have made
wal-lahu khalaqakum wamā taʿmalūn
37:97 ›
قَالُوا۟ ٱبۡنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنۡیَـٰنࣰا فَأَلۡقُوهُ فِی ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٩٧
M. Farook Malik
They said to one another: "Prepare for him a furnace and throw him into the blazing flames."
qālū ib'nū lahu bun'yānan fa-alqūhu fī l-jaḥīm
37:98 ›
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَیۡدࣰا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِینَ ۝٩٨
M. Farook Malik
Thus did they scheme against him: but We humiliated them in their scheme
fa-arādū bihi kaydan fajaʿalnāhumu l-asfalīn
37:99 ›
وَقَالَ إِنِّی ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّی سَیَهۡدِینِ ۝٩٩
M. Farook Malik
Abraham said: "I am going to take refuge with my Lord, He will surely guide me
waqāla innī dhāhibun ilā rabbī sayahdīn
37:100 ›
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١٠٠
M. Farook Malik
O Lord! Grant me a righteous son."
rabbi hab lī mina l-ṣāliḥīn
37:101 ›
فَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِیمࣲ ۝١٠١
M. Farook Malik
So We gave him the good news of a gentle son
fabasharnāhu bighulāmin ḥalīmi
37:102 ›
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعۡیَ قَالَ یَـٰبُنَیَّ إِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰ فِی ٱلۡمَنَامِ أَنِّیۤ أَذۡبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرَىٰۚ قَالَ یَـٰۤأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُۖ سَتَجِدُنِیۤ إِن شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝١٠٢
M. Farook Malik
When he reached the age to work with him, Abraham said to him: "O my son! I have seen a vision that I should offer you as a sacrifice, now tell me what is your view." He replied: "O my father! Do as you are commanded: you will find me, if Allah so wills, of the patient."
falammā balagha maʿahu l-saʿya qāla yābunayya innī arā fī l-manāmi annī adhbaḥuka fa-unẓur mādhā tarā qāla yāabati if'ʿal mā tu'maru satajidunī in shāa l-lahu mina l-ṣābirīn
37:103 ›
فَلَمَّاۤ أَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلۡجَبِینِ ۝١٠٣
M. Farook Malik
And when they both submitted to Allah and Abraham laid down his son prostrate upon his forehead for sacrifice
falammā aslamā watallahu lil'jabīn
37:104 ›
وَنَـٰدَیۡنَـٰهُ أَن یَـٰۤإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمُ ۝١٠٤
M. Farook Malik
We called out to him: "O Abraham stop
wanādaynāhu an yāib'rāhīm
37:105 ›
قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ ٱلرُّءۡیَاۤۚ إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٠٥
M. Farook Malik
You have fulfilled your vision." Thus do We reward the righteous
qad ṣaddaqta l-ru'yā innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:106 ›
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰۤؤُا۟ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ۝١٠٦
M. Farook Malik
That was indeed a manifest test
inna hādhā lahuwa l-balāu l-mubīn
37:107 ›
وَفَدَیۡنَـٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝١٠٧
M. Farook Malik
We ransomed his son for a great sacrific
wafadaynāhu bidhib'ḥin ʿaẓīmi
37:108 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٠٨
M. Farook Malik
and We left his good name among the later generations
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:109 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝١٠٩
M. Farook Malik
SaLotation to Abraham
salāmun ʿalā ib'rāhīm
37:110 ›
كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١١٠
M. Farook Malik
Thus We reward the righteous
kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:111 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١١١
M. Farook Malik
Surely he was one of Our believing devotees
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:112 ›
وَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِإِسۡحَـٰقَ نَبِیࣰّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١١٢
M. Farook Malik
We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet - one of the righteous
wabasharnāhu bi-is'ḥāqa nabiyyan mina l-ṣāliḥīn
37:113 ›
وَبَـٰرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ وَعَلَىٰۤ إِسۡحَـٰقَۚ وَمِن ذُرِّیَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنࣱ وَظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِینࣱ ۝١١٣
M. Farook Malik
We blessed him and Isaac both. Among their progeny there are some who are righteous and some who are clearly doing wrong to their own souls
wabāraknā ʿalayhi waʿalā is'ḥāqa wamin dhurriyyatihimā muḥ'sinun waẓālimun linafsihi mubīnu
4 Moses, Aaron, Elias and Lot
37:114 ›
وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ۝١١٤
M. Farook Malik
We bestowed Our favor on Moses and Haroon
walaqad manannā ʿalā mūsā wahārūn
37:115 ›
وَنَجَّیۡنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ۝١١٥
M. Farook Malik
We delivered them with all their people from the mighty distress
wanajjaynāhumā waqawmahumā mina l-karbi l-ʿaẓīm
37:116 ›
وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِینَ ۝١١٦
M. Farook Malik
We helped them so they became victorious
wanaṣarnāhum fakānū humu l-ghālibīn
37:117 ›
وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِینَ ۝١١٧
M. Farook Malik
We gave them the Glorious Book (Torah)
waātaynāhumā l-kitāba l-mus'tabīn
37:118 ›
وَهَدَیۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَ ٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِیمَ ۝١١٨
M. Farook Malik
and guided them both to the Right Way
wahadaynāhumā l-ṣirāṭa l-mus'taqīm
37:119 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمَا فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١١٩
M. Farook Malik
We left their good names among the later generations
wataraknā ʿalayhimā fī l-ākhirīn
37:120 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ۝١٢٠
M. Farook Malik
SaLotation to Moses and Haroon
salāmun ʿalā mūsā wahārūn
37:121 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٢١
M. Farook Malik
Thus do We reward the righteous
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:122 ›
إِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٢٢
M. Farook Malik
Surely they were two of Our believing devotees
innahumā min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:123 ›
وَإِنَّ إِلۡیَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٢٣
M. Farook Malik
Ilyas (Elias) was surely one of Our Messengers
wa-inna il'yāsa lamina l-mur'salīn
37:124 ›
إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦۤ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٢٤
M. Farook Malik
Behold, he said to his people: "Have you no fear of Allah
idh qāla liqawmihi alā tattaqūn
37:125 ›
أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلࣰا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِینَ ۝١٢٥
M. Farook Malik
Would you invoke Bal (their invented god) and forsake the best of the Creator
atadʿūna baʿlan watadharūna aḥsana l-khāliqīn
37:126 ›
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَاۤىِٕكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٢٦
M. Farook Malik
- Allah - Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?"
al-laha rabbakum warabba ābāikumu l-awalīn
37:127 ›
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٢٧
M. Farook Malik
But they denied him, so they will certainly be called to account
fakadhabūhu fa-innahum lamuḥ'ḍarūn
37:128 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٢٨
M. Farook Malik
with the exception of sincere devotees of Allah
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:129 ›
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٢٩
M. Farook Malik
We left his good name among the later generations
wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn
37:130 ›
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰۤ إِلۡ یَاسِینَ ۝١٣٠
M. Farook Malik
SaLotation to Ilyas
salāmun ʿalā il yāsīn
37:131 ›
إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٣١
M. Farook Malik
Thus do We reward the righteous
innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn
37:132 ›
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٣٢
M. Farook Malik
He was surely one of Our believing devotees
innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn
37:133 ›
وَإِنَّ لُوطࣰا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٣٣
M. Farook Malik
Lot was one of Our Messengers
wa-inna lūṭan lamina l-mur'salīn
37:134 ›
إِذۡ نَجَّیۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥۤ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝١٣٤
M. Farook Malik
Behold, We delivered him and his whole famil
idh najjaynāhu wa-ahlahu ajmaʿīn
37:135 ›
إِلَّا عَجُوزࣰا فِی ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ ۝١٣٥
M. Farook Malik
except an old woman who was among those who remained behind
illā ʿajūzan fī l-ghābirīn
37:136 ›
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡءَاخَرِینَ ۝١٣٦
M. Farook Malik
and We destroyed the others
thumma dammarnā l-ākharīn
37:137 ›
وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَیۡهِم مُّصۡبِحِینَ ۝١٣٧
M. Farook Malik
Surely you pass by their ruins by da
wa-innakum latamurrūna ʿalayhim muṣ'biḥīn
5 Jonah and the Prophet's Triumph
37:138 ›
وَبِٱلَّیۡلِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٣٨
M. Farook Malik
and by night. Will you not use your common sense
wabi-al-layli afalā taʿqilūn
37:139 ›
وَإِنَّ یُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٣٩
M. Farook Malik
Jonah was surely one of Our Messengers
wa-inna yūnusa lamina l-mur'salīn
37:140 ›
إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ ۝١٤٠
M. Farook Malik
When he ran to the laden ship
idh abaqa ilā l-ful'ki l-mashḥūn
37:141 ›
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِینَ ۝١٤١
M. Farook Malik
took part in casting of lots, and was condemned
fasāhama fakāna mina l-mud'ḥaḍīn
37:142 ›
فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِیمࣱ ۝١٤٢
M. Farook Malik
A whale swallowed him for he had become blameworthy
fal-taqamahu l-ḥūtu wahuwa mulīmu
37:143 ›
فَلَوۡلَاۤ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِینَ ۝١٤٣
M. Farook Malik
Had he not repented and became of those who glorify Allah
falawlā annahu kāna mina l-musabiḥīn
37:144 ›
لَلَبِثَ فِی بَطۡنِهِۦۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝١٤٤
M. Farook Malik
he would certainly have remained inside its belly till the Day of Resurrection
lalabitha fī baṭnihi ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn
37:145 ›
۞ فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ سَقِیمࣱ ۝١٤٥
M. Farook Malik
Then We cast him upon a desolate shore in a state of serious illnes
fanabadhnāhu bil-ʿarāi wahuwa saqīmu
37:146 ›
وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ شَجَرَةࣰ مِّن یَقۡطِینࣲ ۝١٤٦
M. Farook Malik
and caused a gourd plant to grow over him
wa-anbatnā ʿalayhi shajaratan min yaqṭīni
37:147 ›
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ یَزِیدُونَ ۝١٤٧
M. Farook Malik
Then We sent him to a nation of one hundred thousand people or more
wa-arsalnāhu ilā mi-ati alfin aw yazīdūn
37:148 ›
فَءَامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٤٨
M. Farook Malik
They believed in him, so We permitted them to enjoy their life for a while
faāmanū famattaʿnāhum ilā ḥīni
37:149 ›
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ ۝١٤٩
M. Farook Malik
Just ask the unbelievers: Does it make any sense that their Lord should have daughters while they choose to have sons
fa-is'taftihim alirabbika l-banātu walahumu l-banūn
37:150 ›
أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ إِنَـٰثࣰا وَهُمۡ شَـٰهِدُونَ ۝١٥٠
M. Farook Malik
Or is it that We created the angels as females and they were present at their creation
am khalaqnā l-malāikata ināthan wahum shāhidūn
37:151 ›
أَلَاۤ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَیَقُولُونَ ۝١٥١
M. Farook Malik
Surely they invent a lie when they say:
alā innahum min if'kihim layaqūlūn
37:152 ›
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝١٥٢
M. Farook Malik
Allah has children. They are utter liars
walada l-lahu wa-innahum lakādhibūn
37:153 ›
أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِینَ ۝١٥٣
M. Farook Malik
Would He choose daughters rather than sons
aṣṭafā l-banāti ʿalā l-banīn
37:154 ›
مَا لَكُمۡ كَیۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ ۝١٥٤
M. Farook Malik
What is the matter with you? How do you judge
mā lakum kayfa taḥkumūn
37:155 ›
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝١٥٥
M. Farook Malik
Will you not take heed
afalā tadhakkarūn
37:156 ›
أَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٥٦
M. Farook Malik
Or do you have any proof of what you are saying
am lakum sul'ṭānun mubīnu
37:157 ›
فَأۡتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝١٥٧
M. Farook Malik
Show us your scriptures if you are truthful
fatū bikitābikum in kuntum ṣādiqīn
37:158 ›
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَیۡنَهُۥ وَبَیۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبࣰاۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٥٨
M. Farook Malik
They assert blood- relationship between Him and the jinns; and the jinns know quite well that they will be called to account
wajaʿalū baynahu wabayna l-jinati nasaban walaqad ʿalimati l-jinatu innahum lamuḥ'ḍarūn
37:159 ›
سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝١٥٩
M. Farook Malik
Glory be to Allah! He is free from what they ascribe to Hi
sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yaṣifūn
37:160 ›
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٦٠
M. Farook Malik
except His sincere devotees who do not attribute such things to Him
illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:161 ›
فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ۝١٦١
M. Farook Malik
Therefore neither you nor those whom you worshi
fa-innakum wamā taʿbudūn
37:162 ›
مَاۤ أَنتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ بِفَـٰتِنِینَ ۝١٦٢
M. Farook Malik
can deceive anyone about Alla
mā antum ʿalayhi bifātinīn
37:163 ›
إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝١٦٣
M. Farook Malik
except him who is destined for hell
illā man huwa ṣāli l-jaḥīm
37:164 ›
وَمَا مِنَّاۤ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝١٦٤
M. Farook Malik
The angels in fact say: "We each have our appointed place
wamā minnā illā lahu maqāmun maʿlūmu
37:165 ›
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّاۤفُّونَ ۝١٦٥
M. Farook Malik
We range ourselves in ranks for His servic
wa-innā lanaḥnu l-ṣāfūn
37:166 ›
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ ۝١٦٦
M. Farook Malik
and we are surely those who declare His glory."
wa-innā lanaḥnu l-musabiḥūn
37:167 ›
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَیَقُولُونَ ۝١٦٧
M. Farook Malik
Before this, the same disbelievers used to say
wa-in kānū layaqūlūn
37:168 ›
لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٦٨
M. Farook Malik
If we had received a reminder which the earlier people had received
law anna ʿindanā dhik'ran mina l-awalīn
37:169 ›
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٦٩
M. Farook Malik
We certainly would have been sincere devotees of Allah
lakunnā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn
37:170 ›
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١٧٠
M. Farook Malik
But now that the Qur’an has come, they reject it: but soon they will find out the consequences of this attitude
fakafarū bihi fasawfa yaʿlamūn
37:171 ›
وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٧١
M. Farook Malik
We have already promised Our servants whom We sent as Messenger
walaqad sabaqat kalimatunā liʿibādinā l-mur'salīn
37:172 ›
إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ ۝١٧٢
M. Farook Malik
that they would certainly be helped
innahum lahumu l-manṣūrūn
37:173 ›
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝١٧٣
M. Farook Malik
and that Our forces will surely be victorious
wa-inna jundanā lahumu l-ghālibūn
37:174 ›
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٧٤
M. Farook Malik
So give no heed to them for a while
fatawalla ʿanhum ḥattā ḥīni
37:175 ›
وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ یُبۡصِرُونَ ۝١٧٥
M. Farook Malik
you will see their downfall as they shall see your victory
wa-abṣir'hum fasawfa yub'ṣirūn
37:176 ›
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا یَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ ۝١٧٦
M. Farook Malik
Do they wish to hurry on Our punishment
afabiʿadhābinā yastaʿjilūn
37:177 ›
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَاۤءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِینَ ۝١٧٧
M. Farook Malik
But dreadful will be that morning, when it will descend in the courtyards of those who have been forewarned
fa-idhā nazala bisāḥatihim fasāa ṣabāḥu l-mundharīn
37:178 ›
وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٧٨
M. Farook Malik
So pay no heed to them for a while
watawalla ʿanhum ḥattā ḥīni
37:179 ›
وَأَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ یُبۡصِرُونَ ۝١٧٩
M. Farook Malik
You will surely see their downfall as they shall see your victory
wa-abṣir fasawfa yub'ṣirūn
37:180 ›
سُبۡحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝١٨٠
M. Farook Malik
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, He is free from what they ascribe to Him
sub'ḥāna rabbika rabbi l-ʿizati ʿammā yaṣifūn
37:181 ›
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٨١
M. Farook Malik
Peace be on the Messengers
wasalāmun ʿalā l-mur'salīn
37:182 ›
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٨٢
M. Farook Malik
and praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds
wal-ḥamdu lillahi rabbi l-ʿālamīn
