15:1

۞ الۤرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَایَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Alif 'A', Lam 'L', Ra 'R'. These are the verses of the Book and (of) a clear Qur'an (that makes things manifest) .

alif-lam-ra til'ka āyātu l-kitābi waqur'ānin mubīni

15:2

رُّبَمَا یَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ مُسۡلِمِینَ ۝٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Often will those who disbelieved wish that they were Muslims

rubamā yawaddu alladhīna kafarū law kānū mus'limīn

15:3

ذَرۡهُمۡ یَأۡكُلُوا۟ وَیَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَیُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Leave them (alone) so that they may eat and enjoy themselves, and that they may be bemused by hope for they will soon know.

dharhum yakulū wayatamattaʿū wayul'hihimu l-amalu fasawfa yaʿlamūn

15:4

وَمَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And never did We destroy a township, but it had a known decree.

wamā ahlaknā min qaryatin illā walahā kitābun maʿlūmu

15:5

مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ ۝٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

No nation outstrips its term, nor can they postpone (it)

mā tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahā wamā yastakhirūn

15:6

وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِی نُزِّلَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ ۝٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And they (unbelievers) said: 'O' you to whom the (Divine) Reminder has been sent down, you are surely insane;

waqālū yāayyuhā alladhī nuzzila ʿalayhi l-dhik'ru innaka lamajnūnu

15:7

لَّوۡ مَا تَأۡتِینَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ ۝٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

If you are of the truthful ones, why do you not bring to us the angels

law mā tatīnā bil-malāikati in kunta mina l-ṣādiqīn

15:8

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِذࣰا مُّنظَرِینَ ۝٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

We do not send angels but with the Truth, and then they would not be respited.

mā nunazzilu l-malāikata illā bil-ḥaqi wamā kānū idhan munẓarīn

15:9

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, We Ourself have sent down the Reminder (the Qur'an) and verily We, (Ourself) will be its Guardian

innā naḥnu nazzalnā l-dhik'ra wa-innā lahu laḥāfiẓūn

15:10

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِی شِیَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And indeed, We sent (messengers) before you among the nations of the ancients.

walaqad arsalnā min qablika fī shiyaʿi l-awalīn

15:11

وَمَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝١١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And there came no messenger to them, but they used to mock at him.

wamā yatīhim min rasūlin illā kānū bihi yastahziūn

15:12

كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝١٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Thus do We make it to enter into the hearts of the guilty.

kadhālika naslukuhu fī qulūbi l-muj'rimīn

15:13

لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(But) they do not believe in it and such has been the way of the ancients.

lā yu'minūna bihi waqad khalat sunnatu l-awalīn

15:14

وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِیهِ یَعۡرُجُونَ ۝١٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And even if We opened to them a gate from the sky, so that they ascended into it all the while,

walaw fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban mina l-samāi faẓallū fīhi yaʿrujūn

15:15

لَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَـٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمࣱ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ۝١٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They would definitely say: Indeed our eyes have been blindfolded, rather we are a people bewitched.

laqālū innamā sukkirat abṣārunā bal naḥnu qawmun masḥūrūn

15:16

وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ بُرُوجࣰا وَزَیَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِینَ ۝١٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And indeed, We have established constellations in the sky and We have decorated them for the beholders,

walaqad jaʿalnā fī l-samāi burūjan wazayyannāhā lilnnāẓirīn

15:17

وَحَفِظۡنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ رَّجِیمٍ ۝١٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We have guarded them against every accursed Satan.

waḥafiẓ'nāhā min kulli shayṭānin rajīmi

15:18

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Save him who steals the hearing, so there pursues him a clear flame.

illā mani is'taraqa l-samʿa fa-atbaʿahu shihābun mubīnu

15:19

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ مَّوۡزُونࣲ ۝١٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We have spread the earth, and We have cast therein firm mountains, and We have grown in it of every thing in due balance.

wal-arḍa madadnāhā wa-alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa-anbatnā fīhā min kulli shayin mawzūni

15:20

وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَعَـٰیِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَ ٰزِقِینَ ۝٢٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We have provided means of subsistence therein for you and for him whom you are not responsible for his sustenance.

wajaʿalnā lakum fīhā maʿāyisha waman lastum lahu birāziqīn

15:21

وَإِن مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَاۤىِٕنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا بِقَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝٢١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And there is not a thing but with Us are its treasures, and We do not send it down save in appointed measure.

wa-in min shayin illā ʿindanā khazāinuhu wamā nunazziluhu illā biqadarin maʿlūmi

15:22

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ لَوَ ٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَاۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِینَ ۝٢٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We send winds fertilizing, and We send down water from the sky, so We give it to you to drink of, while you are not its treasurers.

wa-arsalnā l-riyāḥa lawāqiḥa fa-anzalnā mina l-samāi māan fa-asqaynākumūhu wamā antum lahu bikhāzinīn

15:23

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِیتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ ۝٢٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And certainly We make alive and We cause to die and We are the (only)Heirs.

wa-innā lanaḥnu nuḥ'yī wanumītu wanaḥnu l-wārithūn

15:24

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِینَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَءۡخِرِینَ ۝٢٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And indeed We know those of you who have gone before and We are certainly aware of the succeeding ones.

walaqad ʿalim'nā l-mus'taqdimīna minkum walaqad ʿalim'nā l-mus'takhirīn

15:25

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِیمٌ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٢٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And verily, it is your Lord Who will gather them together, verily He is All- Wise, All- Knowing.

wa-inna rabbaka huwa yaḥshuruhum innahu ḥakīmun ʿalīmu

15:26

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٢٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And certainly We created man of raw clay, of black mud moulded.

walaqad khalaqnā l-insāna min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:27

وَٱلۡجَاۤنَّ خَلَقۡنَـٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ ۝٢٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And the jinn We created before, of intensively burning fire.

wal-jāna khalaqnāhu min qablu min nāri l-samūm

15:28

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ إِنِّی خَـٰلِقُۢ بَشَرࣰا مِّن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٢٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: 'Verily, I am about to create man of raw clay, of black mud moulded'.

wa-idh qāla rabbuka lil'malāikati innī khāliqun basharan min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:29

فَإِذَا سَوَّیۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِی فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِینَ ۝٢٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So when I have completed him and I have breathed into him of My Spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves unto him

fa-idhā sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu fīhi min rūḥī faqaʿū lahu sājidīn

15:30

فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ ۝٣٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together,

fasajada l-malāikatu kulluhum ajmaʿūn

15:31

إِلَّاۤ إِبۡلِیسَ أَبَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٣١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Except 'Iblis; he refused to be with those who prostrated (in obedience) .

illā ib'līsa abā an yakūna maʿa l-sājidīn

15:32

قَالَ یَـٰۤإِبۡلِیسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٣٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'O' Iblis! What is your reason for not being with those who prostrated (in obedience) '

qāla yāib'līsu mā laka allā takūna maʿa l-sājidīn

15:33

قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٣٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

('Iblis) said: 'I am not such that I prostrate myself unto a man whom You have created of raw clay, of black mud moulded'.

qāla lam akun li-asjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:34

قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِیمࣱ ۝٣٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'Then get out of it, for verily you are driven away accursed'.

qāla fa-ukh'ruj min'hā fa-innaka rajīmu

15:35

وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٣٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And, verily, the curse will be on you until the Day of Judgment.

wa-inna ʿalayka l-laʿnata ilā yawmi l-dīn

15:36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝٣٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

('Iblis) said: 'O' Lord! Respite me then till the day when they are raised

qāla rabbi fa-anẓir'nī ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn

15:37

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ ۝٣٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Said He: 'Then verily you are of the respited ones'.

qāla fa-innaka mina l-munẓarīn

15:38

إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ ۝٣٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Till the day of the appointed time.

ilā yawmi l-waqti l-maʿlūm

15:39

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٣٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

('Iblis) said: 'O' Lord! because You have left me to stray, certainly I will adorn (evil) to them on the earth, and certainly I will cause them all to go astray'.

qāla rabbi bimā aghwaytanī la-uzayyinanna lahum fī l-arḍi wala-ugh'wiyannahum ajmaʿīn

15:40

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٤٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Except Your chosen servants among them.

illā ʿibādaka min'humu l-mukh'laṣīn

15:41

قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَ ٰطٌ عَلَیَّ مُسۡتَقِیمٌ ۝٤١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Said He: 'This is for Me a straight path (which I have undertaken) '.

qāla hādhā ṣirāṭun ʿalayya mus'taqīmu

15:42

إِنَّ عِبَادِی لَیۡسَ لَكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ ۝٤٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, (as regards) My (devoted) servants, there is not for you over them any authority, except those who follow you of the deviators.

inna ʿibādī laysa laka ʿalayhim sul'ṭānun illā mani ittabaʿaka mina l-ghāwīn

15:43

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٤٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And verily Hell is certainly the promised place of them all.

wa-inna jahannama lamawʿiduhum ajmaʿīn

15:44

لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَ ٰبࣲ لِّكُلِّ بَابࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءࣱ مَّقۡسُومٌ ۝٤٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

It has seven gates, for every gate there shall be a (separate) party of them assigned.

lahā sabʿatu abwābin likulli bābin min'hum juz'on maqsūmu

15:45

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونٍ ۝٤٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, the pious ones shall be amidst gardens and watersprings.

inna l-mutaqīna fī jannātin waʿuyūni

15:46

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِینَ ۝٤٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(They will be addressed:) 'Enter you therein in peace, secure'.

ud'khulūhā bisalāmin āminīn

15:47

وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَ ٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٤٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. (They will be as) brothers upon coaches, face to face.

wanazaʿnā mā fī ṣudūrihim min ghillin ikh'wānan ʿalā sururin mutaqābilīn

15:48

لَا یَمَسُّهُمۡ فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِینَ ۝٤٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

No toil there shall afflict them in it, nor shall they be ever cast out of it.

lā yamassuhum fīhā naṣabun wamā hum min'hā bimukh'rajīn

15:49

۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِیۤ أَنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٤٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(O Prophet!) Inform My servants (that) verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful,

nabbi ʿibādī annī anā l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

15:50

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِی هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِیمُ ۝٥٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And that My chastisement is the painful chastisement.

wa-anna ʿadhābī huwa l-ʿadhābu l-alīm

15:51

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَیۡفِ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٥١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And inform them of the guests of Abraham.

wanabbi'hum ʿan ḍayfi ib'rāhīm

15:52

إِذۡ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمࣰا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ ۝٥٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

When they entered upon him and said: 'Peace', he said: 'Verily we are scared of you! '

idh dakhalū ʿalayhi faqālū salāman qāla innā minkum wajilūn

15:53

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِیمࣲ ۝٥٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They said: 'Be not afraid! Verily we give you the good news of a son endowed with knowledge.

qālū lā tawjal innā nubashiruka bighulāmin ʿalīmi

15:54

قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِی عَلَىٰۤ أَن مَّسَّنِیَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ۝٥٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'Do you give me such good news (of a son) while old age has touched me ? Of what do you give me good news

qāla abashartumūnī ʿalā an massaniya l-kibaru fabima tubashirūn

15:55

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَـٰنِطِینَ ۝٥٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They (the guests) said: 'We give you good news of the Truth. Therefore, be you not of the despairing ones'.

qālū basharnāka bil-ḥaqi falā takun mina l-qāniṭīn

15:56

قَالَ وَمَن یَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ ۝٥٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray '

qāla waman yaqnaṭu min raḥmati rabbihi illā l-ḍālūn

15:57

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٥٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'What is your business, then, O' you (Divine) messengers

qāla famā khaṭbukum ayyuhā l-mur'salūn

15:58

قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ مُّجۡرِمِینَ ۝٥٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They said: 'Verily we have been sent unto a guilty people (to annihilate them) ',

qālū innā ur'sil'nā ilā qawmin muj'rimīn

15:59

إِلَّاۤ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٥٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Save the family of Lot, We shall surely rescue them all.

illā āla lūṭin innā lamunajjūhum ajmaʿīn

15:60

إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَاۤ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ ۝٦٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Except his wife, of whom we decreed that she should be among those who remain behind ( in the chastisement) .

illā im'ra-atahu qaddarnā innahā lamina l-ghābirīn

15:61

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٦١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So when the (Divine) messengers came unto the family of Lot.

falammā jāa āla lūṭin l-mur'salūn

15:62

قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ مُّنكَرُونَ ۝٦٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'Verily you are an unknown people'.

qāla innakum qawmun munkarūn

15:63

قَالُوا۟ بَلۡ جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَمۡتَرُونَ ۝٦٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They said: 'Nay, but we have come to you with that in which they have been doubting'.

qālū bal ji'nāka bimā kānū fīhi yamtarūn

15:64

وَأَتَیۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ ۝٦٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And we have come to you with the truth, and we are certainly truthful.

wa-ataynāka bil-ḥaqi wa-innā laṣādiqūn

15:65

فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُوا۟ حَیۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ ۝٦٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So set forth, you with your family, in a part of the night and do you go behind them and let not any one of you turn back, and go whither you are ordered.

fa-asri bi-ahlika biqiṭ'ʿin mina al-layli wa-ittabiʿ adbārahum walā yaltafit minkum aḥadun wa-im'ḍū ḥaythu tu'marūn

15:66

وَقَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ مَقۡطُوعࣱ مُّصۡبِحِینَ ۝٦٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We made known this decree to him that the roots of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning.

waqaḍaynā ilayhi dhālika l-amra anna dābira hāulāi maqṭūʿun muṣ'biḥīn

15:67

وَجَاۤءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ۝٦٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And the inhabitants of the town came rejoicing.

wajāa ahlu l-madīnati yastabshirūn

15:68

قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ضَیۡفِی فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ ۝٦٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He said: 'Verily these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me'.

qāla inna hāulāi ḍayfī falā tafḍaḥūn

15:69

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ ۝٦٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And be in awe of Allah and do not put me to shame.

wa-ittaqū l-laha walā tukh'zūn

15:70

قَالُوۤا۟ أَوَ لَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

They said: 'Did we not dissuade you from (entertaining) people

qālū awalam nanhaka ʿani l-ʿālamīn

15:71

قَالَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِیۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He (Lot) said: 'These are my daughters, (you may wed them) if you desire to do so.

qāla hāulāi banātī in kuntum fāʿilīn

15:72

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِی سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ۝٧٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

By your life (O' Prophet) , verily they were wandering on in their intoxication.

laʿamruka innahum lafī sakratihim yaʿmahūn

15:73

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِینَ ۝٧٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So the (violent) blast overtook them at the sunrise.

fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu mush'riqīn

15:74

فَجَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِیَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن سِجِّیلٍ ۝٧٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Thus We turned that city upside down and rained upon them stones of hard clay.

fajaʿalnā ʿāliyahā sāfilahā wa-amṭarnā ʿalayhim ḥijāratan min sijjīli

15:75

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِینَ ۝٧٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, in this there are signs for those who by tokens do understand.

inna fī dhālika laāyātin lil'mutawassimīn

15:76

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِیلࣲ مُّقِیمٍ ۝٧٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And verily it is on a way (yet) remaining.

wa-innahā labisabīlin muqīmi

15:77

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٧٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, in this there is a sign for the believers.

inna fī dhālika laāyatan lil'mu'minīn

15:78

وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأَیۡكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٧٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And verily, the inhabitants of 'Aykah were certainly unjust.

wa-in kāna aṣḥābu l-aykati laẓālimīn

15:79

فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٧٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So We inflicted retribution on them and they are both, indeed, on a roadway manifest (in front of your eyes) .

fa-intaqamnā min'hum wa-innahumā labi-imāmin mubīni

15:80

وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٨٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And indeed the inhabitants of Hijr (also) rejected the messengers.

walaqad kadhaba aṣḥābu l-ḥij'ri l-mur'salīn

15:81

وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِینَ ۝٨١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We presented Our signs to them, but they turned away from them.

waātaynāhum āyātinā fakānū ʿanhā muʿ'riḍīn

15:82

وَكَانُوا۟ یَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُیُوتًا ءَامِنِینَ ۝٨٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And they used to hew secure houses in the mountains.

wakānū yanḥitūna mina l-jibāli buyūtan āminīn

15:83

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِینَ ۝٨٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So the (violent) blast overtook them in the morning.

fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu muṣ'biḥīn

15:84

فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ ۝٨٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And what they used to earn did not avail them.

famā aghnā ʿanhum mā kānū yaksibūn

15:85

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِیَةࣱۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِیلَ ۝٨٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but with truth; and verily the Hour (of resurrection) is surely coming; then pardon you, with a gracious pardoning.

wamā khalaqnā l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā illā bil-ḥaqi wa-inna l-sāʿata laātiyatun fa-iṣ'faḥi l-ṣafḥa l-jamīl

15:86

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٨٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily your Lord, He is the Creator, the All- Knowing.

inna rabbaka huwa l-khalāqu l-ʿalīm

15:87

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰكَ سَبۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِی وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِیمَ ۝٨٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And indeed We have given you seven of the oft- repeated (verses) (Sura Al- Hamd) and the Grand Qur'an.

walaqad ātaynāka sabʿan mina l-mathānī wal-qur'āna l-ʿaẓīm

15:88

لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَیۡنَیۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(O' prophet!) Do not strain your eyes after what we have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and lower your wing (of affection) unto the believers.

lā tamuddanna ʿaynayka ilā mā mattaʿnā bihi azwājan min'hum walā taḥzan ʿalayhim wa-ikh'fiḍ janāḥaka lil'mu'minīn

15:89

وَقُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِیرُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ۝٨٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And say: 'Verily I am the manifest Warner'.

waqul innī anā l-nadhīru l-mubīn

15:90

كَمَاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِینَ ۝٩٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(We shall send them chastisement) as We sent down on the dividers.

kamā anzalnā ʿalā l-muq'tasimīn

15:91

ٱلَّذِینَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِینَ ۝٩١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Those who made the Qur'an into shreds.

alladhīna jaʿalū l-qur'āna ʿiḍīn

15:92

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡءَلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٩٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

So, by your Lord, We shall surely question them all (in the Hereafter),

fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaʿīn

15:93

عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٩٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

As to what they used to do.

fa-iṣ'daʿ bimā tu'maru wa-aʿriḍ ʿani l-mush'rikīn

15:94

فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝٩٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Therefore, declare openly what you are bidden and turn you away from the polytheists.

FaisdaAA bima tu/maru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena

15:95

إِنَّا كَفَیۡنَـٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِینَ ۝٩٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily We will suffice you against the scoffers,

innā kafaynāka l-mus'tahziīn

15:96

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٩٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Those who set up another god with Allah, so they will soon know (the truth) .

alladhīna yajʿalūna maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara fasawfa yaʿlamūn

15:97

وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ یَضِیقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا یَقُولُونَ ۝٩٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And (O' prophet!) We certainly know your breast is straitened by what they say.

walaqad naʿlamu annaka yaḍīqu ṣadruka bimā yaqūlūn

15:98

فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٩٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Therefore, (to reinforce yourself) , celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him) .

fasabbiḥ biḥamdi rabbika wakun mina l-sājidīn

15:99

وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ یَأۡتِیَكَ ٱلۡیَقِینُ ۝٩٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And worship your Lord until the Certain comes to you.

wa-uʿ'bud rabbaka ḥattā yatiyaka l-yaqīn
