15:1

۞ الۤرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَایَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

A.L.R., these are the signs of the Scripture, and a clear Quran

alif-lam-ra til'ka āyātu l-kitābi waqur'ānin mubīni

15:2

رُّبَمَا یَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ مُسۡلِمِینَ ۝٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Perhaps those who have rejected will wish they were of those who surrendered

rubamā yawaddu alladhīna kafarū law kānū mus'limīn

15:3

ذَرۡهُمۡ یَأۡكُلُوا۟ وَیَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَیُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with hope. They will come to know

dharhum yakulū wayatamattaʿū wayul'hihimu l-amalu fasawfa yaʿlamūn

15:4

وَمَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ۝٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

We have not destroyed any town except that it had an appointed time

wamā ahlaknā min qaryatin illā walahā kitābun maʿlūmu

15:5

مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ ۝٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

No nation can quicken its fate, nor can they delay

mā tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahā wamā yastakhirūn

15:6

وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِی نُزِّلَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ ۝٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And they said: "O you upon whom the Reminder has been sent down, you are crazy."

waqālū yāayyuhā alladhī nuzzila ʿalayhi l-dhik'ru innaka lamajnūnu

15:7

لَّوۡ مَا تَأۡتِینَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ ۝٧

"Why not bring us the Angels if you are of the truthful ones"

law mā tatīnā bil-malāikati in kunta mina l-ṣādiqīn

15:8

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِذࣰا مُّنظَرِینَ ۝٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

We do not send down the Angels except with truth, and then they would have no more delay

mā nunazzilu l-malāikata illā bil-ḥaqi wamā kānū idhan munẓarīn

15:9

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Indeed it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed it is We who will preserve it

innā naḥnu nazzalnā l-dhik'ra wa-innā lahu laḥāfiẓūn

15:10

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِی شِیَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have sent before you to the groups of old

walaqad arsalnā min qablika fī shiyaʿi l-awalīn

15:11

وَمَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝١١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And any messenger that came to them, they would mock him

wamā yatīhim min rasūlin illā kānū bihi yastahziūn

15:12

كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝١٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

It is such that We let it seep into the hearts of the criminals

kadhālika naslukuhu fī qulūbi l-muj'rimīn

15:13

لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They do not believe in it, while the examples of the early generations has been brought to them

lā yu'minūna bihi waqad khalat sunnatu l-awalīn

15:14

وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِیهِ یَعۡرُجُونَ ۝١٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And if We opened for them a gate in the heaven and they were to continue ascending to it

walaw fataḥnā ʿalayhim bāban mina l-samāi faẓallū fīhi yaʿrujūn

15:15

لَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَـٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمࣱ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ۝١٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They would have said: "Our sight has been fogged. No, we are a people who are being bewitched!"

laqālū innamā sukkirat abṣārunā bal naḥnu qawmun masḥūrūn

15:16

وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ بُرُوجࣰا وَزَیَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِینَ ۝١٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have placed towers in the heavens and We have made them pleasant to the onlookers

walaqad jaʿalnā fī l-samāi burūjan wazayyannāhā lilnnāẓirīn

15:17

وَحَفِظۡنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ رَّجِیمٍ ۝١٧

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have guarded them from every outcast devil

waḥafiẓ'nāhā min kulli shayṭānin rajīmi

15:18

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Except he who manages to eavesdrop, he will be pursued clearly by a flaming meteor

illā mani is'taraqa l-samʿa fa-atbaʿahu shihābun mubīnu

15:19

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ مَّوۡزُونࣲ ۝١٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And the land We have stretched, and placed stabilizers in it, and We have planted in it everything in balance

wal-arḍa madadnāhā wa-alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya wa-anbatnā fīhā min kulli shayin mawzūni

15:20

وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَعَـٰیِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَ ٰزِقِینَ ۝٢٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We made for you in it a habitat, as well as those whom you are not required to provide for

wajaʿalnā lakum fīhā maʿāyisha waman lastum lahu birāziqīn

15:21

وَإِن مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَاۤىِٕنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا بِقَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝٢١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And there is not a thing, except that We have vaults of it, yet We only send it down in a measured amount

wa-in min shayin illā ʿindanā khazāinuhu wamā nunazziluhu illā biqadarin maʿlūmi

15:22

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ لَوَ ٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَاۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِینَ ۝٢٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have sent the winds to pollinate, and We sent down water from the sky for you to drink. And it is not you who are keeping it in storage

wa-arsalnā l-riyāḥa lawāqiḥa fa-anzalnā mina l-samāi māan fa-asqaynākumūhu wamā antum lahu bikhāzinīn

15:23

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِیتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ ۝٢٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And it is indeed We who give life and death, and We are the inheritors

wa-innā lanaḥnu nuḥ'yī wanumītu wanaḥnu l-wārithūn

15:24

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِینَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَءۡخِرِینَ ۝٢٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have known those who came early amongst you, and We have known those who came late

walaqad ʿalim'nā l-mus'taqdimīna minkum walaqad ʿalim'nā l-mus'takhirīn

15:25

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِیمٌ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٢٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And it is your Lord that will gather them. He is Wise, Knowledgeable

wa-inna rabbaka huwa yaḥshuruhum innahu ḥakīmun ʿalīmu

15:26

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٢٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We have created man from a clay hardened and shaped

walaqad khalaqnā l-insāna min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:27

وَٱلۡجَاۤنَّ خَلَقۡنَـٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ ۝٢٧

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And the Jinn, We created him before that from the flames of fire

wal-jāna khalaqnāhu min qablu min nāri l-samūm

15:28

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ إِنِّی خَـٰلِقُۢ بَشَرࣰا مِّن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٢٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And your Lord said to the Angels: "I am creating a human from a hardened clay."

wa-idh qāla rabbuka lil'malāikati innī khāliqun basharan min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:29

فَإِذَا سَوَّیۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِی فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِینَ ۝٢٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"So when I perfect him, and blow of My spirit in him, you shall submit to him."

fa-idhā sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu fīhi min rūḥī faqaʿū lahu sājidīn

15:30

فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ ۝٣٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Thus, all of the Angels submitted

fasajada l-malāikatu kulluhum ajmaʿūn

15:31

إِلَّاۤ إِبۡلِیسَ أَبَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٣١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Except for Satan, he refused to be with those who submitted

illā ib'līsa abā an yakūna maʿa l-sājidīn

15:32

قَالَ یَـٰۤإِبۡلِیسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٣٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "O Satan, what is the matter that you are not with those who have submitted"

qāla yāib'līsu mā laka allā takūna maʿa l-sājidīn

15:33

قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ۝٣٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "I am not to submit to a human You have created from a hardened clay."

qāla lam akun li-asjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min ṣalṣālin min ḥama-in masnūni

15:34

قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِیمࣱ ۝٣٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "Exit from here, you are cast out."

qāla fa-ukh'ruj min'hā fa-innaka rajīmu

15:35

وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٣٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"And a curse shall be upon you until the Day of Judgment."

wa-inna ʿalayka l-laʿnata ilā yawmi l-dīn

15:36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝٣٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "My Lord, respite me until the Day they are resurrected."

qāla rabbi fa-anẓir'nī ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn

15:37

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ ۝٣٧

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "You are given respite."

qāla fa-innaka mina l-munẓarīn

15:38

إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ ۝٣٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"Until the Day of the appointed time."

ilā yawmi l-waqti l-maʿlūm

15:39

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٣٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "My Lord, for that which I have been misled by, I will make the Earth appear beautiful for them, and I will mislead them all."

qāla rabbi bimā aghwaytanī la-uzayyinanna lahum fī l-arḍi wala-ugh'wiyannahum ajmaʿīn

15:40

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٤٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"Except for Your servants who are devoted."

illā ʿibādaka min'humu l-mukh'laṣīn

15:41

قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَ ٰطٌ عَلَیَّ مُسۡتَقِیمٌ ۝٤١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "This shall be a Straight Path to Me."

qāla hādhā ṣirāṭun ʿalayya mus'taqīmu

15:42

إِنَّ عِبَادِی لَیۡسَ لَكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ ۝٤٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"For My servants, you shall have no authority over them, except those who are misled and follow you."

inna ʿibādī laysa laka ʿalayhim sul'ṭānun illā mani ittabaʿaka mina l-ghāwīn

15:43

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٤٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"And Hell, for all of those, shall be the appointed place."

wa-inna jahannama lamawʿiduhum ajmaʿīn

15:44

لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَ ٰبࣲ لِّكُلِّ بَابࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءࣱ مَّقۡسُومٌ ۝٤٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"It has seven gates, for every gate will be an assigned segment from them."

lahā sabʿatu abwābin likulli bābin min'hum juz'on maqsūmu

15:45

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونٍ ۝٤٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

The righteous will be in paradises and springs

inna l-mutaqīna fī jannātin waʿuyūni

15:46

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِینَ ۝٤٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"Enter it in peace and security."

ud'khulūhā bisalāmin āminīn

15:47

وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَ ٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٤٧

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And We removed what sadness was in their chests, they are brothers in quarters facing one another

wanazaʿnā mā fī ṣudūrihim min ghillin ikh'wānan ʿalā sururin mutaqābilīn

15:48

لَا یَمَسُّهُمۡ فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِینَ ۝٤٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

No fatigue shall touch them, nor will they be made to leave from it

lā yamassuhum fīhā naṣabun wamā hum min'hā bimukh'rajīn

15:49

۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِیۤ أَنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٤٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Inform My servants that I am the Forgiver, the Merciful

nabbi ʿibādī annī anā l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

15:50

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِی هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِیمُ ۝٥٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And that My punishment is a painful retribution

wa-anna ʿadhābī huwa l-ʿadhābu l-alīm

15:51

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَیۡفِ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ۝٥١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And inform them of Abraham's guests

wanabbi'hum ʿan ḍayfi ib'rāhīm

15:52

إِذۡ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمࣰا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ ۝٥٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

That they entered upon him, they said: "Peace." He said: "We are worrisome of you."

idh dakhalū ʿalayhi faqālū salāman qāla innā minkum wajilūn

15:53

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِیمࣲ ۝٥٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They said: "Do not worry, we bring you good news of a knowledgeable son."

qālū lā tawjal innā nubashiruka bighulāmin ʿalīmi

15:54

قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِی عَلَىٰۤ أَن مَّسَّنِیَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ۝٥٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "What good news can you bring me when old age has come upon me Is that your good news"

qāla abashartumūnī ʿalā an massaniya l-kibaru fabima tubashirūn

15:55

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَـٰنِطِینَ ۝٥٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They said: "We have brought you good news with truth, so do not be of those in denial."

qālū basharnāka bil-ḥaqi falā takun mina l-qāniṭīn

15:56

قَالَ وَمَن یَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ ۝٥٦

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "And who would deny the mercy of his Lord except the misguided ones!"

qāla waman yaqnaṭu min raḥmati rabbihi illā l-ḍālūn

15:57

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٥٧

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "What then is your business here, O messengers"

qāla famā khaṭbukum ayyuhā l-mur'salūn

15:58

قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ مُّجۡرِمِینَ ۝٥٨

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They said: "We have been sent to a people who are criminals."

qālū innā ur'sil'nā ilā qawmin muj'rimīn

15:59

إِلَّاۤ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٥٩

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"Except for the family of Lot, we will save them all."

illā āla lūṭin innā lamunajjūhum ajmaʿīn

15:60

إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَاۤ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ ۝٦٠

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"Except for his wife, we have measured that she will be with those destroyed."

illā im'ra-atahu qaddarnā innahā lamina l-ghābirīn

15:61

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٦١

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

So when the messengers came to the family of Lot

falammā jāa āla lūṭin l-mur'salūn

15:62

قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ مُّنكَرُونَ ۝٦٢

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

He said: "You are a people unknown to me."

qāla innakum qawmun munkarūn

15:63

قَالُوا۟ بَلۡ جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَمۡتَرُونَ ۝٦٣

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

They said: "Alas, we have come to you with that which they are doubting."

qālū bal ji'nāka bimā kānū fīhi yamtarūn

15:64

وَأَتَیۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ ۝٦٤

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"And we have come to you with the truth, and we are forthcoming."

wa-ataynāka bil-ḥaqi wa-innā laṣādiqūn

15:65

فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُوا۟ حَیۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ ۝٦٥

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

"So let your family leave during the last hours of the night, and you follow just behind them, and do not let any of you look back, and go to where you are commanded."

fa-asri bi-ahlika biqiṭ'ʿin mina al-layli wa-ittabiʿ adbārahum walā yaltafit minkum aḥadun wa-im'ḍū ḥaythu tu'marūn

15:66

وَقَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ مَقۡطُوعࣱ مُّصۡبِحِینَ ۝٦٦

And We made it known to him, that the seed of these people will be cut off in the morning

waqaḍaynā ilayhi dhālika l-amra anna dābira hāulāi maqṭūʿun muṣ'biḥīn

15:67

وَجَاۤءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ۝٦٧

And the people of the city came seeking good news

wajāa ahlu l-madīnati yastabshirūn

15:68

قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ضَیۡفِی فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ ۝٦٨

He said: "These are my guests, so do not embarrass me!"

qāla inna hāulāi ḍayfī falā tafḍaḥūn

15:69

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ ۝٦٩

"And be aware of God, and do not disgrace me!"

wa-ittaqū l-laha walā tukh'zūn

15:70

قَالُوۤا۟ أَوَ لَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٠

They said: "Did we not forbid you from outsiders"

qālū awalam nanhaka ʿani l-ʿālamīn

15:71

قَالَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِیۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧١

He said: "Here are my daughters if it is your intention."

qāla hāulāi banātī in kuntum fāʿilīn

15:72

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِی سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ۝٧٢

By your life, they are in their drunkenness, blundering

laʿamruka innahum lafī sakratihim yaʿmahūn

15:73

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِینَ ۝٧٣

So the scream took them at sunrise

fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu mush'riqīn

15:74

فَجَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِیَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن سِجِّیلٍ ۝٧٤

Thus We turned it upside down, and rained over them with rocks made from hardened clay

fajaʿalnā ʿāliyahā sāfilahā wa-amṭarnā ʿalayhim ḥijāratan min sijjīli

15:75

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِینَ ۝٧٥

In this are signs for those who see

inna fī dhālika laāyātin lil'mutawassimīn

15:76

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِیلࣲ مُّقِیمٍ ۝٧٦

And it was on an established path

wa-innahā labisabīlin muqīmi

15:77

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٧٧

In that is a sign for the believers

inna fī dhālika laāyatan lil'mu'minīn

15:78

وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأَیۡكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٧٨

And the dwellers of the forest were wicked

wa-in kāna aṣḥābu l-aykati laẓālimīn

15:79

فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٧٩

So, We sought revenge from them. And they were both on an open plain

fa-intaqamnā min'hum wa-innahumā labi-imāmin mubīni

15:80

وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٨٠

And the dwellers of the cavern disbelieved the messengers

walaqad kadhaba aṣḥābu l-ḥij'ri l-mur'salīn

15:81

وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِینَ ۝٨١

And We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them

waātaynāhum āyātinā fakānū ʿanhā muʿ'riḍīn

15:82

وَكَانُوا۟ یَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُیُوتًا ءَامِنِینَ ۝٨٢

And they used to sculpt from the mountains dwellings that were secure

wakānū yanḥitūna mina l-jibāli buyūtan āminīn

15:83

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِینَ ۝٨٣

So the scream took them in the morning

fa-akhadhathumu l-ṣayḥatu muṣ'biḥīn

15:84

فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ ۝٨٤

What benefit did what they earn make for the

famā aghnā ʿanhum mā kānū yaksibūn

15:85

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِیَةࣱۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِیلَ ۝٨٥

And We have not created the heavens and the Earth and what is in between except with the truth. And the Hour is coming, so overlook their faults gracefully

wamā khalaqnā l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā illā bil-ḥaqi wa-inna l-sāʿata laātiyatun fa-iṣ'faḥi l-ṣafḥa l-jamīl

15:86

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ۝٨٦

Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower

inna rabbaka huwa l-khalāqu l-ʿalīm

15:87

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰكَ سَبۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِی وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِیمَ ۝٨٧

And We have given you seven of the pairs and the great Quran

walaqad ātaynāka sabʿan mina l-mathānī wal-qur'āna l-ʿaẓīm

15:88

لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَیۡنَیۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٨٨

So do not linger with your eyes on what We have bestowed upon some couples from them, and do not grieve for them, and lower your wing for the believers

lā tamuddanna ʿaynayka ilā mā mattaʿnā bihi azwājan min'hum walā taḥzan ʿalayhim wa-ikh'fiḍ janāḥaka lil'mu'minīn

15:89

وَقُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِیرُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ۝٨٩

And Say: "I am the clarifying warner."

waqul innī anā l-nadhīru l-mubīn

15:90

كَمَاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِینَ ۝٩٠

As We have sent down on the dividers

kamā anzalnā ʿalā l-muq'tasimīn

15:91

ٱلَّذِینَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِینَ ۝٩١

The ones who have made the Quran obsolete

alladhīna jaʿalū l-qur'āna ʿiḍīn

15:92

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡءَلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٩٢

By your Lord, We will ask them all

fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaʿīn

15:93

عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٩٣

Regarding what they use to do

fa-iṣ'daʿ bimā tu'maru wa-aʿriḍ ʿani l-mush'rikīn

15:94

فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝٩٤

So proclaim what you have been commanded and turn away from those who set up partners

FaisdaAA bima tu/maru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena

15:95

إِنَّا كَفَیۡنَـٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِینَ ۝٩٥

We will relieve you from those who mocked

innā kafaynāka l-mus'tahziīn

15:96

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٩٦

Those who placed with God another god. They will come to know

alladhīna yajʿalūna maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara fasawfa yaʿlamūn

15:97

وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ یَضِیقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا یَقُولُونَ ۝٩٧

And We know that your chest is strained by what they say

walaqad naʿlamu annaka yaḍīqu ṣadruka bimā yaqūlūn

15:98

فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ۝٩٨

So glorify with the praise of your Lord, and be of those who prostrate

fasabbiḥ biḥamdi rabbika wakun mina l-sājidīn

15:99

وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ یَأۡتِیَكَ ٱلۡیَقِینُ ۝٩٩

And serve your Lord until certainty comes to you

wa-uʿ'bud rabbaka ḥattā yatiyaka l-yaqīn
