هُوَ یُحۡیِۦ وَیُمِیتُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٥٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): He gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returne
Abdel Haleem: It is He who gives life and takes it, and you will all be returned to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He quickeneth and giveth death, and unto Him ye will be returned
Hud 11:123 Verb
وَلِلَّهِ غَیۡبُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَیۡهِ یُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعۡبُدۡهُ وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَیۡهِۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And to Allah belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do
Abdel Haleem: All that is hidden in the heavens and earth belongs to God, and all authority goes back to Him. So [Prophet], worship Him, and put your trust in Him: your Lord is never unaware of what you [people] are doing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And Allah's is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth, and unto Him the whole matter will be returned. So worship Him and put thy trust in Him. Lo! thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do
Hud 11:34 Verb
وَلَا یَنفَعُكُمۡ نُصۡحِیۤ إِنۡ أَرَدتُّ أَنۡ أَنصَحَ لَكُمۡ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ یُرِیدُ أَن یُغۡوِیَكُمۡۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And my advice will not benefit you - although I wished to advise you - If Allah should intend to put you in error. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned."
Abdel Haleem: My advice will be no use to you if God wishes to leave you to your delusions: He is your Lord and to Him you will be returned.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: My counsel will not profit you if I were minded to advise you, if Allah's will is to keep you astray. He is your Lord and unto Him ye will be brought back
Joseph 12:46 Verb
یُوسُفُ أَیُّهَا ٱلصِّدِّیقُ أَفۡتِنَا فِی سَبۡعِ بَقَرَ ٰتࣲ سِمَانࣲ یَأۡكُلُهُنَّ سَبۡعٌ عِجَافࣱ وَسَبۡعِ سُنۢبُلَـٰتٍ خُضۡرࣲ وَأُخَرَ یَابِسَـٰتࣲ لَّعَلِّیۤ أَرۡجِعُ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [He said], "Joseph, O man of truth, explain to us about seven fat cows eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry - that I may return to the people; perhaps they will know [about you]."
Abdel Haleem: ‘Truthful Joseph! Tell us the meaning of seven fat cows being eaten by seven lean ones, seven green ears of corn and [seven] others withered
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: (And when he came to Joseph in the prison, he exclaimed): Joseph! O thou truthful one! Expound for us the seven fat kine which seven lean were eating and the seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry, that I may return unto the people, so that they may know
Joseph 12:50 Verb
وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱئۡتُونِی بِهِۦۖ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُ ٱلرَّسُولُ قَالَ ٱرۡجِعۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَسۡءَلۡهُ مَا بَالُ ٱلنِّسۡوَةِ ٱلَّـٰتِی قَطَّعۡنَ أَیۡدِیَهُنَّۚ إِنَّ رَبِّی بِكَیۡدِهِنَّ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And the king said, "Bring him to me." But when the messenger came to him, [Joseph] said, "Return to your master and ask him what is the case of the women who cut their hands. Indeed, my Lord is Knowing of their plan."
Abdel Haleem: The king said, ‘Bring him to me,’ but when the messenger came to fetch Joseph, he said, ‘Go back to your master and ask him about what happened to those women who cut their hands- my Lord knows all about their treachery.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And the king said: Bring him unto me. And when the messenger came unto him, he (Joseph) said: Return unto thy lord and ask him what was the case of the women who cut their hands. Lo! my Lord knoweth their guile
Joseph 12:62 Verb
وَقَالَ لِفِتۡیَـٰنِهِ ٱجۡعَلُوا۟ بِضَـٰعَتَهُمۡ فِی رِحَالِهِمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَعۡرِفُونَهَاۤ إِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٦٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And [Joseph] said to his servants, "Put their merchandise into their saddlebags so they might recognize it when they have gone back to their people that perhaps they will [again] return."
Abdel Haleem: Joseph said to his servants, ‘Put their [traded] goods back into their saddlebags, so that they may recognize them when they go back to their family, and [be eager to] return.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said unto his young men: Place their merchandise in their saddlebags, so that they may know it when they go back to their folk, and so will come again
Joseph 12:63 Verb
فَلَمَّا رَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَبِیهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا ٱلۡكَیۡلُ فَأَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَاۤ أَخَانَا نَكۡتَلۡ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ۝٦٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So when they returned to their father, they said, "O our father, [further] measure has been denied to us, so send with us our brother [that] we will be given measure. And indeed, we will be his guardians."
Abdel Haleem: When they returned to their father, they said, ‘Father, we have been denied any more corn, but send our brother back with us and we shall be given another measure. We shall guard him carefully.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: So when they went back to their father they said: O our father! The measure is denied us, so send with us our brother that we may obtain the measure, surely we will guard him well
Joseph 12:81 Verb
ٱرۡجِعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَبِیكُمۡ فَقُولُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَبَانَاۤ إِنَّ ٱبۡنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدۡنَاۤ إِلَّا بِمَا عَلِمۡنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلۡغَیۡبِ حَـٰفِظِینَ ۝٨١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Return to your father and say, "O our father, indeed your son has stolen, and we did not testify except to what we knew. And we were not witnesses of the unseen
Abdel Haleem: so go back to your father and say, “Your son stole. We can only tell you what we saw. How could we guard against the unforeseen
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Return unto your father and say: O our father! Lo! thy son hath stolen. We testify only to that which we know; we are not guardians of the Unseen
Mary 19:40 Verb
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَرِثُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَنۡ عَلَیۡهَا وَإِلَیۡنَا یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned
Abdel Haleem: It is We who will inherit the earth and all who are on it: they will all be returned to Us
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they are returned
Ta Ha 20:40 Verb
إِذۡ تَمۡشِیۤ أُخۡتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن یَكۡفُلُهُۥۖ فَرَجَعۡنَـٰكَ إِلَىٰۤ أُمِّكَ كَیۡ تَقَرَّ عَیۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَۚ وَقَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسࣰا فَنَجَّیۡنَـٰكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّـٰكَ فُتُونࣰاۚ فَلَبِثۡتَ سِنِینَ فِیۤ أَهۡلِ مَدۡیَنَ ثُمَّ جِئۡتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرࣲ یَـٰمُوسَىٰ ۝٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses
Abdel Haleem: Your sister went out, saying, “I will tell you someone who will nurse him,” then We returned you to your mother so that she could rejoice and not grieve. Later you killed a man, but We saved you from distress and tried you with other tests. You stayed among the people of Midian for years, then you came here as I ordained
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses
Ta Ha 20:86 Verb
فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ غَضۡبَـٰنَ أَسِفࣰاۚ قَالَ یَـٰقَوۡمِ أَلَمۡ یَعِدۡكُمۡ رَبُّكُمۡ وَعۡدًا حَسَنًاۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَیۡكُمُ ٱلۡعَهۡدُ أَمۡ أَرَدتُّمۡ أَن یَحِلَّ عَلَیۡكُمۡ غَضَبࣱ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ فَأَخۡلَفۡتُم مَّوۡعِدِی ۝٨٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved. He said, "O my people, did your Lord not make you a good promise? Then, was the time [of its fulfillment] too long for you, or did you wish that wrath from your Lord descend upon you, so you broke your promise [of obedience] to me?"
Abdel Haleem: Moses returned to his people, angry and aggrieved. He said, ‘My people, did your Lord not make you a gracious promise? Was my absence too long for you? Did you want anger to fall on you from your Lord and so broke your word to me?’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. He said: O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? Did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me
Ta Ha 20:89 Verb
أَفَلَا یَرَوۡنَ أَلَّا یَرۡجِعُ إِلَیۡهِمۡ قَوۡلࣰا وَلَا یَمۡلِكُ لَهُمۡ ضَرࣰّا وَلَا نَفۡعࣰا ۝٨٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Did they not see that it could not return to them any speech and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit
Abdel Haleem: Did they not see that [the calf] gave them no answer, that it had no power to harm or benefit them
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: See they not, then, that it returneth no saying unto them and possesseth for them neither hurt nor use
Ta Ha 20:91 Verb
قَالُوا۟ لَن نَّبۡرَحَ عَلَیۡهِ عَـٰكِفِینَ حَتَّىٰ یَرۡجِعَ إِلَیۡنَا مُوسَىٰ ۝٩١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): They said, "We will never cease being devoted to the calf until Moses returns to us."
Abdel Haleem: but they replied, ‘We shall not give up our devotion to it until Moses returns to us.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They said: We shall by no means cease to be its votaries till Moses return unto us
The Prophets 21:13 Verb
لَا تَرۡكُضُوا۟ وَٱرۡجِعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَاۤ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِیهِ وَمَسَـٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡءَلُونَ ۝١٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Some angels said], "Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes - perhaps you will be questioned."
Abdel Haleem: ‘Do not try to escape. Go back to your homes and the pleasure you revelled in: you may be questioned.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: (But it was said unto them): Flee not, but return to that (existence) which emasculated you and to your dwellings, that ye may be questioned
The Prophets 21:35 Verb
كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَیۡرِ فِتۡنَةࣰۖ وَإِلَیۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Every soul is certain to taste death: We test you all through the bad and the good, and to Us you will all return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Every soul must taste of death, and We try you with evil and with good, for ordeal. And unto Us ye will be returned
The Prophets 21:58 Verb
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَ ٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِیرࣰا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٥٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question]
Abdel Haleem: He broke them all into pieces, but left the biggest one for them to return to
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it
The Prophets 21:64 Verb
فَرَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۝٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So they returned to [blaming] themselves and said [to each other], "Indeed, you are the wrongdoers."
Abdel Haleem: They turned to one another, saying, ‘It is you who are in the wrong,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers
The Prophets 21:95 Verb
وَحَرَ ٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٩٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And there is prohibition upon [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] retur
Abdel Haleem: No community destroyed by Us can escape its return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And there is a ban upon any community which We have destroyed: that they shall not return
The Pilgrimage 22:76 Verb
یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٧٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them. And to Allah will be returned [all] matters
Abdel Haleem: He knows what lies before and behind them. All matters return to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He knoweth all that is before them and all that is behind them, and unto Allah all things are returned.
The Believers 23:115 Verb
أَفَحَسِبۡتُمۡ أَنَّمَا خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ عَبَثࣰا وَأَنَّكُمۡ إِلَیۡنَا لَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?"
Abdel Haleem: Did you think We had created you in vain, and that you would not be brought back to Us?’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Deemed ye then that We had created you for naught, and that ye would not be returned unto Us
The Believers 23:99 Verb
حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرۡجِعُونِ ۝٩٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me bac
Abdel Haleem: When death comes to one of them, he cries, ‘My Lord, let me retur
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back
The Light 24:28 Verb
فَإِن لَّمۡ تَجِدُوا۟ فِیهَاۤ أَحَدࣰا فَلَا تَدۡخُلُوهَا حَتَّىٰ یُؤۡذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ وَإِن قِیلَ لَكُمُ ٱرۡجِعُوا۟ فَٱرۡجِعُوا۟ۖ هُوَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِیمࣱ ۝٢٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do
Abdel Haleem: If you find no one in, do not enter unless you have been given permission to do so. If you are told, ‘Go away’, then do so- that is more proper for you. God knows well what you do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And if ye find no-one therein, still enter not until permission hath been given. And if it be said unto you: Go away again, then go away, for it is purer for you. Allah knoweth what ye do
The Light 24:64 Verb
أَلَاۤ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ قَدۡ یَعۡلَمُ مَاۤ أَنتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ وَیَوۡمَ یُرۡجَعُونَ إِلَیۡهِ فَیُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیمُۢ ۝٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Unquestionably, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Already He knows that upon which you [stand] and [knows] the Day when they will be returned to Him and He will inform them of what they have done. And Allah is Knowing of all things
Abdel Haleem: Everything in the heavens and earth belongs to God: He knows what state you are in- on the Day when all are returned to Him, He will tell them everything they have done- God has full knowledge of everything
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! verily unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. He knoweth your condition. And (He knoweth) the Day when they are returned unto Him so that He may inform them of what they did. Allah is Knower of all things
The Ant, The Ants 27:28 Verb
ٱذۡهَب بِّكِتَـٰبِی هَـٰذَا فَأَلۡقِهۡ إِلَیۡهِمۡ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."
Abdel Haleem: Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then withdraw and see what answer they send back.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Go with this my letter and throw it down unto them; then turn away and see what (answer) they return
The Ant, The Ants 27:35 Verb
وَإِنِّی مُرۡسِلَةٌ إِلَیۡهِم بِهَدِیَّةࣲ فَنَاظِرَةُۢ بِمَ یَرۡجِعُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ۝٣٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."
Abdel Haleem: but I am going to send them a gift, then see what answer my envoys bring back.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: But lo! I am going to send a present unto them, and to see with what (answer) the messengers return
The Ant, The Ants 27:37 Verb
ٱرۡجِعۡ إِلَیۡهِمۡ فَلَنَأۡتِیَنَّهُم بِجُنُودࣲ لَّا قِبَلَ لَهُم بِهَا وَلَنُخۡرِجَنَّهُم مِّنۡهَاۤ أَذِلَّةࣰ وَهُمۡ صَـٰغِرُونَ ۝٣٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."
Abdel Haleem: Go back to your people: we shall certainly come upon them with irresistible forces, and drive them, disgraced and humbled, from their land.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Return unto them. We verily shall come unto them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from thence with shame, and they will be abased
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:39 Verb
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَظَنُّوۤا۟ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡنَا لَا یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And he was arrogant, he and his soldiers, in the land, without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us
Abdel Haleem: Pharaoh and his armies behaved arrogantly in the land with no right- they thought they would not be brought back to Us
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And he and his hosts were haughty in the land without right, and deemed that they would never be brought back to Us
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:70 Verb
وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِی ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَٱلۡءَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٧٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And He is Allah ; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: He is God; there is no god but Him; all praise belongs to Him in this world and the next; His is the Judgement; and to Him you shall be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And He is Allah; there is no Allah save Him. His is all praise in the former and the latter (state), and His is the command, and unto Him ye will be brought back
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:88 Verb
وَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۘ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ كُلُّ شَیۡءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجۡهَهُۥۚ لَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٨٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Do not call out to any other god beside God, for there is no god but Him. Everything will perish except His Face. His is the Judgement and to Him you shall all be brought back
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And cry not unto any other god along with Allah. There is no Allah save Him. Everything will perish save His countenance. His is the command, and unto Him ye will be brought back
The Spider 29:17 Verb
إِنَّمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡثَـٰنࣰا وَتَخۡلُقُونَ إِفۡكًاۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا یَمۡلِكُونَ لَكُمۡ رِزۡقࣰا فَٱبۡتَغُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرِّزۡقَ وَٱعۡبُدُوهُ وَٱشۡكُرُوا۟ لَهُۥۤۖ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): You only worship, besides Allah , idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
Abdel Haleem: What you worship instead of God are mere idols; what you invent is nothing but falsehood. Those you serve instead of God have no power to give you provisions, so seek provisions from God, serve Him, and give Him thanks: you will all be returned to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Ye serve instead of Allah only idols, and ye only invent a lie. Lo! those whom ye serve instead of Allah own no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks unto Him, (for) unto Him ye will be brought back
The Spider 29:57 Verb
كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ ذَاۤىِٕقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٥٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned
Abdel Haleem: Every soul will taste death, then it is to Us that you will be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Every soul will taste of death. Then unto Us ye will be returned
The Cow 2:18 Verb
صُمُّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡیࣱ فَهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝١٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Deaf, dumb and blind - so they will not return [to the right path]
Abdel Haleem: deaf, dumb, and blind: they will never return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Deaf, dumb and blind; and they return not
The Cow 2:196 Verb
وَأَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلۡحَجَّ وَٱلۡعُمۡرَةَ لِلَّهِۚ فَإِنۡ أُحۡصِرۡتُمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَیۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡیِۖ وَلَا تَحۡلِقُوا۟ رُءُوسَكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ یَبۡلُغَ ٱلۡهَدۡیُ مَحِلَّهُۥۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِیضًا أَوۡ بِهِۦۤ أَذࣰى مِّن رَّأۡسِهِۦ فَفِدۡیَةࣱ مِّن صِیَامٍ أَوۡ صَدَقَةٍ أَوۡ نُسُكࣲۚ فَإِذَاۤ أَمِنتُمۡ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلۡعُمۡرَةِ إِلَى ٱلۡحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسۡتَیۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡیِۚ فَمَن لَّمۡ یَجِدۡ فَصِیَامُ ثَلَـٰثَةِ أَیَّامࣲ فِی ٱلۡحَجِّ وَسَبۡعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعۡتُمۡۗ تِلۡكَ عَشَرَةࣱ كَامِلَةࣱۗ ذَ ٰلِكَ لِمَن لَّمۡ یَكُنۡ أَهۡلُهُۥ حَاضِرِی ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝١٩٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And complete the hajj and 'umrah for Allah . But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice. And when you are secure, then whoever performs 'umrah [during the hajj months] followed by hajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] - then a fast of three days during hajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-iaram. And fear Allah and know that Allah is severe in penalty
Abdel Haleem: Complete the pilgrimages, major and minor, for the sake of God. If you are prevented [from doing so], then [send] whatever offering for sacrifice you can afford, and do not shave your headsuntil the offering has reached the place of sacrifice. If any of you is ill, or has an ailment of the scalp, he should compensate by fasting, or feeding the poor, or offering sacrifice. When you are in safety, anyone wishing to take a break between the minor pilgrimage and the major one must make whatever offering he can afford. If he lacks the means, he should fast for three days during the pilgrimage, and seven days on his return, making ten days in all. This applies to those whose household is not near the Sacred Mosque. Always be mindful of God, and be aware that He is stern in His retribution
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Perform the pilgrimage and the visit (to Makka) for Allah. And if ye are prevented, then send such gifts as can be obtained with ease, and shave not your heads until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or hath an ailment of the head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering. And if ye are in safety, then whosoever contenteth himself with the visit for the pilgrimage (shall give) such gifts as can be had with ease. And whosoever cannot find (such gifts), then a fast of three days while on the pilgrimage, and of seven when ye have returned; that is, ten in all. That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Inviolable Place of Worship. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment
The Cow 2:210 Verb
هَلۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّاۤ أَن یَأۡتِیَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِی ظُلَلࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡغَمَامِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ وَقُضِیَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٢١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Do they await but that Allah should come to them in covers of clouds and the angels [as well] and the matter is [then] decided? And to Allah [all] matters are returned
Abdel Haleem: Are these people waiting for God to come to them in the shadows of the clouds, together with the angels? But the matter would already have been decided by then: all matters are brought back to God
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Wait they for naught else than that Allah should come unto them in the shadows of the clouds with the angels? Then the case would be already judged. All cases go back to Allah (for judgment)
The Cow 2:230 Verb
فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا تَحِلُّ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ حَتَّىٰ تَنكِحَ زَوۡجًا غَیۡرَهُۥۗ فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡهِمَاۤ أَن یَتَرَاجَعَاۤ إِن ظَنَّاۤ أَن یُقِیمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَتِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ یُبَیِّنُهَا لِقَوۡمࣲ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٣٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him. And if the latter husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the woman and her former husband for returning to each other if they think that they can keep [within] the limits of Allah . These are the limits of Allah , which He makes clear to a people who know
Abdel Haleem: If a husband re-divorces his wife after the second divorce, she will not be lawful for him until she has taken another husband; if that one divorces her, there will be no blame if she and the first husband return to one another, provided they feel that they can keep within the bounds set by God. These are God’s bounds, which He makes clear for those who know
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And if he hath divorced her (the third time), then she is not lawful unto him thereafter until she hath wedded another husband. Then if he (the other husband) divorce her it is no sin for both of them that they come together again if they consider that they are able to observe the limits of Allah. These are the limits of Allah. He manifesteth them for people who have knowledge
The Cow 2:245 Verb
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِی یُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنࣰا فَیُضَـٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥۤ أَضۡعَافࣰا كَثِیرَةࣰۚ وَٱللَّهُ یَقۡبِضُ وَیَبۡصُۜطُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٢٤٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Who will give God a good loan, which He will increase for him many times over? It is God who withholds and God who gives abundantly, and it is to Him that you will return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Who is it that will lend unto Allah a goodly loan, so that He may give it increase manifold? Allah straiteneth and enlargeth. Unto Him ye will return
The Cow 2:28 Verb
كَیۡفَ تَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَكُنتُمۡ أَمۡوَ ٰتࣰا فَأَحۡیَـٰكُمۡۖ ثُمَّ یُمِیتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ یُحۡیِیكُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٢٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: How can you ignore God when you were lifeless and He gave you life, when He will cause you to die, then resurrect you to be returned to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return
The Cow 2:281 Verb
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ یَوۡمࣰا تُرۡجَعُونَ فِیهِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ مَّا كَسَبَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٨١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah . Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly
Abdel Haleem: Beware of a Day when you will be returned to God: every soul will be paid in full for what it has earned, and no one will be wronged
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And guard yourselves against a day in which ye will be brought back to Allah. Then every soul will be paid in full that which it hath earned, and they will not be wronged
The Romans, The Byzantines 30:11 Verb
ٱللَّهُ یَبۡدَؤُا۟ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ یُعِیدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Allah begins creation; then He will repeat it; then to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: God brings creation into being; in the end He will reproduce it and it is to Him you will be recalled
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Allah produceth creation, then He reproduceth it, then unto Him ye will be returned
The Romans, The Byzantines 30:41 Verb
ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِی ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَیۡدِی ٱلنَّاسِ لِیُذِیقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِی عَمِلُوا۟ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٤١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]
Abdel Haleem: Corruption has flourished on land and sea as a result of people’s actions and He will make them taste the consequences of some of their own actions so that they may turn back
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Corruption doth appear on land and sea because of (the evil) which men's hands have done, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return
The Prostration, Worship, Adoration, The Adoration 32:11 Verb
۞ قُلۡ یَتَوَفَّىٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ ٱلَّذِی وُكِّلَ بِكُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Say, "The angel of death will take you who has been entrusted with you. Then to your Lord you will be returned."
Abdel Haleem: Say, ‘The Angel of Death put in charge of you will reclaim you, and then you will be brought back to your Lord.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Say: The angel of death, who hath charge concerning you, will gather you, and afterward unto your Lord ye will be returned
The Prostration, Worship, Adoration, The Adoration 32:12 Verb
وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰۤ إِذِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ نَاكِسُوا۟ رُءُوسِهِمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ رَبَّنَاۤ أَبۡصَرۡنَا وَسَمِعۡنَا فَٱرۡجِعۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ ۝١٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
Abdel Haleem: [Prophet], if only you could see the wrongdoers hang their heads before their Lord: ‘Our Lord, now that we have seen and heard, send us back and we shall do good. [Now] we are convinced.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Couldst thou but see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord, (and say): Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back; we will do right, now we are sure
The Prostration, Worship, Adoration, The Adoration 32:21 Verb
وَلَنُذِیقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَدۡنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent
Abdel Haleem: We shall certainly make them taste a nearer torment [in this life] prior to the greater torment, so that perhaps they may return [to the right path]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And verily We make them taste the lower punishment before the greater, that haply they may return
The Clans, The Coalition, The Combined Forces, The Allies 33:13 Verb
وَإِذۡ قَالَت طَّاۤىِٕفَةࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ یَـٰۤأَهۡلَ یَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَٱرۡجِعُوا۟ۚ وَیَسۡتَءۡذِنُ فَرِیقࣱ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلنَّبِیَّ یَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُیُوتَنَا عَوۡرَةࣱ وَمَا هِیَ بِعَوۡرَةٍۖ إِن یُرِیدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارࣰا ۝١٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And when a faction of them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no stability for you [here], so return [home]." And a party of them asked permission of the Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses are unprotected," while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee
Abdel Haleem: Some of them said, ‘People of Yathrib, you will not be able to withstand [the attack], so go back!’ Some of them asked the Prophet’s permission to leave, saying, ‘Our houses are exposed,’ even though they were not- they just wanted to run away
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when a party of them said: O folk of Yathrib! There is no stand (possible) for you, therefor turn back. And certain of them (even) sought permission of the Prophet, saying: Our homes lie open (to the enemy). And they lay not open. They but wished to flee
Saba, Sheba 34:31 Verb
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ وَلَا بِٱلَّذِی بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِۗ وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰۤ إِذِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ مَوۡقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ یَرۡجِعُ بَعۡضُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ یَقُولُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُوا۟ لِلَّذِینَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوا۟ لَوۡلَاۤ أَنتُمۡ لَكُنَّا مُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٣١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Qur'an nor in that before it." But if you could see when the wrongdoers are made to stand before their Lord, refuting each other's words... Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not for you, we would have been believers."
Abdel Haleem: The disbelievers say, ‘We will believe neither this Qur an nor the Scriptures that came before it.’ If only you could see [Prophet] how the wrongdoers will be made to stand before their Lord, hurling reproaches at one another. Those who were oppressed will say to the oppressors, ‘If it were not for you, we would have been believers.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And those who disbelieve say: We believe not in this Qur'an nor in that which was before it; but oh, if thou couldst see, when the wrong-doers are brought up before their Lord, how they cast the blame one to another; how those who were despised (in the earth) say unto those who were proud: But for you, we should have been believers
The Angels, Originator, The Creator 35:4 Verb
وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَتۡ رُسُلࣱ مِّن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters
Abdel Haleem: If they call you a liar [Prophet], many messengers before you were also called liars: it is to God that all things will be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And if they deny thee, (O Muhammad), messengers (of Allah) were denied before thee. Unto Allah all things are brought back
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:22 Verb
وَمَا لِیَ لَاۤ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِی فَطَرَنِی وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Why should I not worship the One who created me? It is to Him that you will be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: For what cause should I not serve Him Who hath created me, and unto Whom ye will be brought back
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:31 Verb
أَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٣١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return
Abdel Haleem: Do they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them, none of whom will ever come back to them
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which indeed returned not unto them
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:50 Verb
فَلَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ تَوۡصِیَةࣰ وَلَاۤ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return
Abdel Haleem: They will have no time to make bequests, nor will they have the chance to return to their own people
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:67 Verb
وَلَوۡ نَشَاۤءُ لَمَسَخۡنَـٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مُضِیࣰّا وَلَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٦٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return
Abdel Haleem: If it had been Our will, We could have paralysed them where they stood, so that they could not move forward or backward
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And had We willed, We verily could have fixed them in their place, making them powerless to go forward or turn back
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:83 Verb
فَسُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِی بِیَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٨٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: So glory be to Him in whose Hand lies control over all things. It is to Him that you will all be brought back.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Therefor Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion over all things! Unto Him ye will be brought back
The Troops, Throngs, The Companies 39:44 Verb
قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ جَمِیعࣰاۖ لَّهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٤٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned."
Abdel Haleem: Say, ‘All intercession belongs to God alone; He holds control of the heavens and the earth; in the end you will all return to Him.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Say: Unto Allah belongeth all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And afterward unto Him ye will be brought back
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:109 Verb
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝١٠٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Allah will [all] matters be returned
Abdel Haleem: Everything in the heavens and earth belongs to God; it is to Him that all things return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; and unto Allah all things are returned
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:72 Verb
وَقَالَت طَّاۤىِٕفَةࣱ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِیۤ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجۡهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكۡفُرُوۤا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٧٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], "Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion
Abdel Haleem: Some of the People of the Book say, ‘At the beginning of the day, believe in what has been revealed to these believers [the Muslims], then at the end of the day reject it, so that they too may turn back
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And a party of the People of the Scripture say: Believe in that which hath been revealed unto those who believe at the opening of the day, and disbelieve at the end thereof, in order that they may return
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:83 Verb
أَفَغَیۡرَ دِینِ ٱللَّهِ یَبۡغُونَ وَلَهُۥۤ أَسۡلَمَ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ طَوۡعࣰا وَكَرۡهࣰا وَإِلَیۡهِ یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٨٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Do they seek anything other than submission to God? Everyone in the heavens and earth submits to Him, willingly or unwillingly; they will all be returned to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Seek they other than the religion of Allah, when unto Him submitteth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and unto Him they will be returned
The Forgiver, The Forgiving One 40:77 Verb
فَٱصۡبِرۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّۚ فَإِمَّا نُرِیَنَّكَ بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِی نَعِدُهُمۡ أَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّكَ فَإِلَیۡنَا یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٧٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned
Abdel Haleem: So be patient [Prophet], for God’s promise is sure: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life or whether We take your soul back to Us first, it is to Us that they will be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then have patience (O Muhammad). Lo! the promise of Allah is true. And whether we let thee see a part of that which We promise them, or (whether) We cause thee to die, still unto Us they will be brought back
Explained in Detail, Revelations Well Expounded 41:21 Verb
وَقَالُوا۟ لِجُلُودِهِمۡ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمۡ عَلَیۡنَاۖ قَالُوۤا۟ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَیۡءࣲۚ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةࣲ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah , who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned
Abdel Haleem: They will say to their skins, ‘Why did you testify against us?’ and their skins will reply, ‘God, who gave speech to everything, has given us speech- it was He who created you the first time and to Him you have been returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And they say unto their skins: Why testify ye against us? They say: Allah hath given us speech Who giveth speech to all things, and Who created you at the first, and unto Whom ye are returned
Explained in Detail, Revelations Well Expounded 41:50 Verb
وَلَىِٕنۡ أَذَقۡنَـٰهُ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ضَرَّاۤءَ مَسَّتۡهُ لَیَقُولَنَّ هَـٰذَا لِی وَمَاۤ أَظُنُّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَاۤىِٕمَةࣰ وَلَىِٕن رُّجِعۡتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّیۤ إِنَّ لِی عِندَهُۥ لَلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَلَنُذِیقَنَّهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ غَلِیظࣲ ۝٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment
Abdel Haleem: Whenever We let him taste some of Our mercy after he has been afflicted, he is sure to say, ‘This is all my own doing: I do not think the Hour will ever come, but even if I were to be taken back to my Lord, the best reward would await me with Him.’ We shall most certainly inform the disbelievers of what they have done and give them a taste of severe torment
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And verily, if We cause him to taste mercy after some hurt that hath touched him, he will say: This is my own; and I deem not that the Hour will ever rise, and if I am brought back to my Lord, I surely shall be better off with Him - But We verily shall tell those who disbelieve (all) that they did, and We verily shall make them taste hard punishment
Ornaments of Gold, Luxury, The Embellishment 43:28 Verb
وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةَۢ بَاقِیَةࣰ فِی عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it]
Abdel Haleem: and he bequeathed these words to his descendants so that they might return [to God]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And he made it a word enduring among his seed, that haply they might return
Ornaments of Gold, Luxury, The Embellishment 43:48 Verb
وَمَا نُرِیهِم مِّنۡ ءَایَةٍ إِلَّا هِیَ أَكۡبَرُ مِنۡ أُخۡتِهَاۖ وَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith]
Abdel Haleem: even though each sign We showed them was greater than the previous one. We inflicted torment on them so that they might return to the right path
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And every token that We showed them was greater than its sister (token), and We grasped them with the torment, that haply they might turn again
Ornaments of Gold, Luxury, The Embellishment 43:85 Verb
وَتَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِی لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَا وَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٨٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Exalted is He who has control of the heavens and earth and everything between them; He has knowledge of the Hour; you will all be returned to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And blessed be He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and with Whom is knowledge of the Hour, and unto Whom ye will be returned
The Kneeling, Crouching 45:15 Verb
مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَسَاۤءَ فَعَلَیۡهَاۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then to your Lord you will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Whoever does good benefits himself, and whoever does evil harms himself: you will all be returned to your Lord
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Whoso doeth right, it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong, it is against it. And afterward unto your Lord ye will be brought back
The Wind-curved Sandhills, The Dunes, The Sandhills 46:27 Verb
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief]
Abdel Haleem: We have also destroyed other communities that once flourished around you- We had given them various signs so that they might return to the right way
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And verily We have destroyed townships round about you, and displayed (for them) Our revelation, that haply they might return
The Event, The Inevitable, That Which is Coming 56:87 Verb
تَرۡجِعُونَهَاۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٨٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Bring it back, if you should be truthful
Abdel Haleem: do you not restore his soul to him, if what you say is true
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful
The Iron 57:13 Verb
یَوۡمَ یَقُولُ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتُ لِلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱنظُرُونَا نَقۡتَبِسۡ مِن نُّورِكُمۡ قِیلَ ٱرۡجِعُوا۟ وَرَاۤءَكُمۡ فَٱلۡتَمِسُوا۟ نُورࣰاۖ فَضُرِبَ بَیۡنَهُم بِسُورࣲ لَّهُۥ بَابُۢ بَاطِنُهُۥ فِیهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَةُ وَظَـٰهِرُهُۥ مِن قِبَلِهِ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ۝١٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment
Abdel Haleem: On the same Day, the hypocrites, both men and women, will say to the believers, ‘Wait for us! Let us have some of your light!’ They will be told, ‘Go back and look for a light.’ A wall with a door will be erected between them: inside it lies mercy, outside lies torment
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: On the day when the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women will say unto those who believe: Look on us that we may borrow from your light! it will be said: Go back and seek for light! Then there will separate them a wall wherein is a gate, the inner side whereof containeth mercy, while the outer side thereof is toward the doom
The Iron 57:5 Verb
لَّهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): His is the dominion of the heavens and earth. And to Allah are returned [all] matters
Abdel Haleem: control of the heavens and earth belongs to Him. Everything is brought back to God
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and unto Allah (all) things are brought back
She That is to be Examined, Examining her, She Who is Tested 60:10 Verb
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوۤا۟ إِذَا جَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتُ مُهَـٰجِرَ ٰتࣲ فَٱمۡتَحِنُوهُنَّۖ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِإِیمَـٰنِهِنَّۖ فَإِنۡ عَلِمۡتُمُوهُنَّ مُؤۡمِنَـٰتࣲ فَلَا تَرۡجِعُوهُنَّ إِلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِۖ لَا هُنَّ حِلࣱّ لَّهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحِلُّونَ لَهُنَّۖ وَءَاتُوهُم مَّاۤ أَنفَقُوا۟ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ إِذَاۤ ءَاتَیۡتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّۚ وَلَا تُمۡسِكُوا۟ بِعِصَمِ ٱلۡكَوَافِرِ وَسۡءَلُوا۟ مَاۤ أَنفَقۡتُمۡ وَلۡیَسۡءَلُوا۟ مَاۤ أَنفَقُوا۟ۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ حُكۡمُ ٱللَّهِ یَحۡكُمُ بَیۡنَكُمۡۖ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِیمٌ حَكِیمࣱ ۝١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): O you who have believed, when the believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them. Allah is most knowing as to their faith. And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the disbelievers; they are not lawful [wives] for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them. But give the disbelievers what they have spent. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their due compensation. And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women, but ask for what you have spent and let them ask for what they have spent. That is the judgement of Allah ; He judges between you. And Allah is Knowing and Wise
Abdel Haleem: You who believe, test the believing women when they come to you as emigrants- God knows best about their faith- and if you are sure of their belief, do not send them back to the disbelievers: they are not lawful wives for them, nor are the disbelievers their lawful husbands. Give the disbelievers whatever bride-gifts they have paid- if you choose to marry them, there is no blame on you once you have paid their bride-gifts- and do not yourselves hold on to marriage ties with disbelieving women. Ask for repayment of the bride-gifts you have paid, and let the disbelievers do the same. This is God’s judgement: He judges between you, God is all knowing and wise
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: O ye who believe! When believing women come unto you as fugitives, examine them. Allah is Best Aware of their faith. Then, if ye know them for true believers, send them not back unto the disbelievers. They are not lawful for them (the disbelievers), nor are they (the disbelievers) lawful for them. And give them (the disbelievers) that which they have spent (upon them). And it is no sin for you to marry such women when ye have given them their dues. And hold not to the ties of disbelieving women; and ask for (the return of) that which ye have spent; and let them (the disbelievers) ask for that which they have spent. That is the judgment of Allah. He judgeth between you. Allah is Knower, Wise
The Hypocrites 63:8 Verb
یَقُولُونَ لَىِٕن رَّجَعۡنَاۤ إِلَى ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ لَیُخۡرِجَنَّ ٱلۡأَعَزُّ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡأَذَلَّۚ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): They say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know
Abdel Haleem: They say, ‘Once we return to Medina the powerful will drive out the weak,’ but power belongs to God, to His Messenger, and to the believers, though the hypocrites do not know this
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They say: Surely, if we return to Al-Madinah the mightier will soon drive out the weaker; when might belongeth to Allah and to His messenger and to the believers; but the hypocrites know not
The Sovereignty, Control, The Kingdom 67:3 Verb
ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَـٰوَ ٰتࣲ طِبَاقࣰاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ مِن تَفَـٰوُتࣲۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورࣲ ۝٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks
Abdel Haleem: who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You will not see any flaw in what the Lord of Mercy creates. Look again! Can you see any flaw
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts
The Sovereignty, Control, The Kingdom 67:4 Verb
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَیۡنِ یَنقَلِبۡ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئࣰا وَهُوَ حَسِیرࣱ ۝٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued
Abdel Haleem: Look again! And again! Your sight will turn back to you, weak and defeated
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim
Cattle, Livestock 6:36 Verb
۞ إِنَّمَا یَسۡتَجِیبُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَسۡمَعُونَۘ وَٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ یَبۡعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Only those who hear will respond. But the dead - Allah will resurrect them; then to Him they will be returned
Abdel Haleem: Only those who can hear will respond; as for the dead, God will raise them up, and to Him they will all be returned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Only those can accept who hear. As for the dead, Allah will raise them up; then unto Him they will be returned
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:150 Verb
وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ غَضۡبَـٰنَ أَسِفࣰا قَالَ بِئۡسَمَا خَلَفۡتُمُونِی مِنۢ بَعۡدِیۤۖ أَعَجِلۡتُمۡ أَمۡرَ رَبِّكُمۡۖ وَأَلۡقَى ٱلۡأَلۡوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأۡسِ أَخِیهِ یَجُرُّهُۥۤ إِلَیۡهِۚ قَالَ ٱبۡنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱسۡتَضۡعَفُونِی وَكَادُوا۟ یَقۡتُلُونَنِی فَلَا تُشۡمِتۡ بِیَ ٱلۡأَعۡدَاۤءَ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡنِی مَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٥٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, "How wretched is that by which you have replaced me after [my departure]. Were you impatient over the matter of your Lord?" And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by [the hair of] his head, pulling him toward him. [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, indeed the people oppressed me and were about to kill me, so let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people."
Abdel Haleem: On his return to his people, angry and aggrieved, Moses said, ‘How foul and evil is what you have done in my absence! Were you so keen to bring your Lord’s judgement forward?’ He threw the tablets down and seized his brother by the hair, pulling him towards him. Aaron said, ‘Son of my mother, these people overpowered me! They almost killed me! Do not give my enemies reason to rejoice! Do not include me with these evildoers!’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when Moses returned unto his people, angry and grieved, he said: Evil is that (course) which ye took after I had left you. Would ye hasten on the judgment of your Lord? And he cast down the tablets, and he seized his brother by the head, dragging him toward him. He said: Son of my mother! Lo! the folk did judge me weak and almost killed me. Oh, make not mine enemies to triumph over me and place me not among the evil-doers
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:168 Verb
وَقَطَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُمَمࣰاۖ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنۡهُمۡ دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَۖ وَبَلَوۡنَـٰهُم بِٱلۡحَسَنَـٰتِ وَٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝١٦٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience]
Abdel Haleem: We dispersed them over the earth in separate communities- some are righteous and some less so: We tested them with blessings and misfortunes, so that they might all return [to righteousness]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And We have sundered them in the earth as (separate) nations. Some of them are righteous, and some far from that. And We have tried them with good things and evil things that haply they might return
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:174 Verb
وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝١٧٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return
Abdel Haleem: In this way We explain the messages, so that they may turn [to the right path]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Thus we detail the revelations, that haply they may return
The Dawn, Daybreak 89:28 Verb
ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]
Abdel Haleem: return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Return unto thy Lord, content in His good pleasure
The Spoils of War 8:44 Verb
وَإِذۡ یُرِیكُمُوهُمۡ إِذِ ٱلۡتَقَیۡتُمۡ فِیۤ أَعۡیُنِكُمۡ قَلِیلࣰا وَیُقَلِّلُكُمۡ فِیۤ أَعۡیُنِهِمۡ لِیَقۡضِیَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرࣰا كَانَ مَفۡعُولࣰاۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٤٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And [remember] when He showed them to you, when you met, as few in your eyes, and He made you [appear] as few in their eyes so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined. And to Allah are [all] matters returned
Abdel Haleem: When you met He showed them to you as few, and He made you few in their eyes, so that He might bring about what has been ordained: everything goes back to God
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when He made you (Muslims), when ye met (them), see them with your eyes as few, and lessened you in their eyes, (it was) that Allah might conclude a thing that must be done. Unto Allah all things are brought back
Repentance 9:122 Verb
۞ وَمَا كَانَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ لِیَنفِرُوا۟ كَاۤفَّةࣰۚ فَلَوۡلَا نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرۡقَةࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ طَاۤىِٕفَةࣱ لِّیَتَفَقَّهُوا۟ فِی ٱلدِّینِ وَلِیُنذِرُوا۟ قَوۡمَهُمۡ إِذَا رَجَعُوۤا۟ إِلَیۡهِمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَحۡذَرُونَ ۝١٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And it is not for the believers to go forth [to battle] all at once. For there should separate from every division of them a group [remaining] to obtain understanding in the religion and warn their people when they return to them that they might be cautious
Abdel Haleem: Yet it is not right for all the believers to go out [to battle] together: out of each community, a group should go out to gain understanding of the religion, so that they can teach their people when they return and so that they can guard themselves against evil
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And the believers should not all go out to fight. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may gain sound knowledge in religion, and that they may warn their folk when they return to them, so that they may beware
Repentance 9:83 Verb
فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَاۤىِٕفَةࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَءۡذَنُوكَ لِلۡخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخۡرُجُوا۟ مَعِیَ أَبَدࣰا وَلَن تُقَـٰتِلُوا۟ مَعِیَ عَدُوًّاۖ إِنَّكُمۡ رَضِیتُم بِٱلۡقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةࣲ فَٱقۡعُدُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِفِینَ ۝٨٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): If Allah should return you to a faction of them [after the expedition] and then they ask your permission to go out [to battle], say, "You will not go out with me, ever, and you will never fight with me an enemy. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting [at home] the first time, so sit [now] with those who stay behind."
Abdel Haleem: So [Prophet], if God brings you back to a group of them, who ask you for permission to go out [to battle], say, ‘You will never go out and fight an enemy with me: you chose to sit at home the first time, so remain with those who stay behind now.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: If Allah bring thee back (from the campaign) unto a party of them and they ask of thee leave to go out (to fight), then say unto them: Ye shall never more go out with me nor fight with me against a foe. Ye were content with sitting still the first time. So sit still, with the useless
Repentance 9:94 Verb
یَعۡتَذِرُونَ إِلَیۡكُمۡ إِذَا رَجَعۡتُمۡ إِلَیۡهِمۡۚ قُل لَّا تَعۡتَذِرُوا۟ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لَكُمۡ قَدۡ نَبَّأَنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنۡ أَخۡبَارِكُمۡۚ وَسَیَرَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمۡ وَرَسُولُهُۥ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَـٰلِمِ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٩٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse - never will we believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
Abdel Haleem: When you return from the expedition they will carry on coming to you [believers] with excuses. Say, ‘Do not make excuses. We do not believe you: God has told us about you. God and His Messenger will watch your actions now, and in the end you will be returned to the One who knows the seen and the unseen. He will confront you with what you have done.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They will make excuse to you (Muslims) when ye return unto them. Say: Make no excuse, for we shall not believe you. Allah hath told us tidings of you. Allah and His messenger will see your conduct, and then ye will be brought back unto Him Who knoweth the Invisible as well as the Visible, and He will tell you what ye used to do

Jonah 10:23 Noun
فَلَمَّاۤ أَنجَىٰهُمۡ إِذَا هُمۡ یَبۡغُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّۗ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغۡیُكُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِكُمۖ مَّتَـٰعَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡنَا مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَنُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do
Abdel Haleem: Yet no sooner does He save them than, back on land, they behave outrageously against all that is right. People! Your outrageous behaviour only works against yourselves. Take your little enjoyment in this present life; in the end you will return to Us and We shall confront you with everything you have done
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Yet when He hath delivered them, behold! they rebel in the earth wrongfully. O mankind! Your rebellion is only against yourselves. (Ye have) enjoyment of the life of the world; then unto Us is your return and We shall proclaim unto you what ye used to do
Jonah 10:4 Noun
إِلَیۡهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِیعࣰاۖ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّاۚ إِنَّهُۥ یَبۡدَؤُا۟ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ یُعِیدُهُۥ لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ شَرَابࣱ مِّنۡ حَمِیمࣲ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِیمُۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡفُرُونَ ۝٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny
Abdel Haleem: It is to Him you shall all return––that is a true promise from God. It was He who created [you] in the first place, and He will do so again, so that He may justly reward those who believe and do good deeds. But the disbelievers will have a drink of scalding water, and agonizing torment, because they persistently disbelieved
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Unto Him is the return of all of you; it is a promise of Allah in truth. Lo! He produceth creation, then reproduceth it, that He may reward those who believe and do good works with equity; while, as for those who disbelieve, theirs will be a boiling drink and painful doom because they disbelieved
Jonah 10:46 Noun
وَإِمَّا نُرِیَنَّكَ بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِی نَعِدُهُمۡ أَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّكَ فَإِلَیۡنَا مَرۡجِعُهُمۡ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ شَهِیدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا یَفۡعَلُونَ ۝٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muhammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allah is a witness concerning what they are doin
Abdel Haleem: Whether We let you [Prophet] see some of the punishment We have threatened them with, or cause you to die [first], they will return to Us: God is witness to what they do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Whether We let thee (O Muhammad) behold something of that which We promise them or (whether We) cause thee to die, still unto Us is their return, and Allah, moreover, is Witness over what they do
Jonah 10:70 Noun
مَتَـٰعࣱ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا ثُمَّ إِلَیۡنَا مَرۡجِعُهُمۡ ثُمَّ نُذِیقُهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلشَّدِیدَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡفُرُونَ ۝٧٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [For them is brief] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment because they used to disbeliev
Abdel Haleem: They may have a little enjoyment in this world, but then they will return to Us. Then We shall make them taste severe punishment for persisting in blasphemy
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: This world's portion (will be theirs), then unto Us is their return. Then We make them taste a dreadful doom because they used to disbelieve
Hud 11:4 Noun
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرٌ ۝٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): To Allah is your return, and He is over all things competent."
Abdel Haleem: it is to God that you will all return, and He has power over everything.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Unto Allah is your return, and He is Able to do all things
The Prophets 21:93 Noun
وَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَیۡنَا رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٩٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return
Abdel Haleem: They have torn their unity apart, but they will all return to Us
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us
The Believers 23:60 Noun
وَٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡتُونَ مَاۤ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٦٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord
Abdel Haleem: who always give with hearts that tremble at the thought that they must return to Him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord
The Spider 29:8 Noun
وَوَصَّیۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَ ٰلِدَیۡهِ حُسۡنࣰاۖ وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِی مَا لَیۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمࣱ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَاۤۚ إِلَیَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do
Abdel Haleem: We have commanded people to be good to their parents, but do not obey them if they strive to make you serve, beside Me, anything of which you have no knowledge: you will all return to Me, and I shall inform you of what you have done
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do
The Cow 2:156 Noun
ٱلَّذِینَ إِذَاۤ أَصَـٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِیبَةࣱ قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّاۤ إِلَیۡهِ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝١٥٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return."
Abdel Haleem: those who say, when afflicted with a calamity, ‘We belong to God and to Him we shall return.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning
The Cow 2:46 Noun
ٱلَّذِینَ یَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَـٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَنَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him
Abdel Haleem: who know that they will meet their Lord and that it is to Him they will return
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Who know that they will have to meet their Lord, and that unto Him they are returning
Luqman, Lukman 31:15 Noun
وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰۤ أَن تُشۡرِكَ بِی مَا لَیۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمࣱ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَاۖ وَصَاحِبۡهُمَا فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا مَعۡرُوفࣰاۖ وَٱتَّبِعۡ سَبِیلَ مَنۡ أَنَابَ إِلَیَّۚ ثُمَّ إِلَیَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do
Abdel Haleem: If they strive to make you associate with Me anything about which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. Yet keep their company in this life according to what is right, and follow the path of those who turn to Me. You will all return to Me in the end, and I will tell you everything that you have done
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: But if they strive with thee to make thee ascribe unto Me as partner that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Consort with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who repenteth unto Me. Then unto Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what ye used to do
Luqman, Lukman 31:23 Noun
وَمَن كَفَرَ فَلَا یَحۡزُنكَ كُفۡرُهُۥۤۚ إِلَیۡنَا مَرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَنُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوۤا۟ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts
Abdel Haleem: As for those who refuse to do this, do not let their refusal sadden you [Prophet]- they will return to Us and We shall tell them what they have done: God knows all that hearts contain
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And whosoever disbelieveth, let not his disbelief afflict thee (O Muhammad). Unto Us is their return, and We shall tell them what they did. Lo! Allah is Aware of what is in the breasts (of men)
Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers 37:68 Noun
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٦٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire
Abdel Haleem: then return to the blazing Fire
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell
The Troops, Throngs, The Companies 39:7 Noun
إِن تَكۡفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِیٌّ عَنكُمۡۖ وَلَا یَرۡضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلۡكُفۡرَۖ وَإِن تَشۡكُرُوا۟ یَرۡضَهُ لَكُمۡۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts
Abdel Haleem: If you are ungrateful, remember God has no need of you, yet He is not pleased by ingrati-tude in His servants; if you are grateful, He is pleased [to see] it in you. No soul will bear another’s burden. You will return to your Lord in the end and He will inform you of what you have done: He knows well what is in the depths of [your] hearts
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: If ye are thankless, yet Allah is Independent of you, though He is not pleased with thanklessness for His bondmen; and if ye are thankful He is pleased therewith for you. No laden soul will bear another's load. Then unto your Lord is your return; and He will tell you what ye used to do. Lo! He knoweth what is in the breasts (of men)
The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:55 Noun
إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ یَـٰعِیسَىٰۤ إِنِّی مُتَوَفِّیكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَیَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأَحۡكُمُ بَیۡنَكُمۡ فِیمَا كُنتُمۡ فِیهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝٥٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ
Abdel Haleem: God said, ‘Jesus, I will take you back and raise you up to Me: I will purify you of the disbelievers. To the Day of Resurrection I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieved. Then you will all return to Me and I will judge between you regarding your differences
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: (And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ
The Letter Qaf 50:3 Noun
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰاۖ ذَ ٰلِكَ رَجۡعُۢ بَعِیدࣱ ۝٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return."
Abdel Haleem: To come back [to life] after we have died and become dust? That is too farfetched.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return
The Table, The Table Spread 5:105 Noun
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَیۡكُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ لَا یَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهۡتَدَیۡتُمۡۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٠٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided. To Allah is you return all together; then He will inform you of what you used to do
Abdel Haleem: You who believe, you are responsible for your own souls; if anyone else goes astray it will not harm you so long as you follow the guidance; you will all return to God, and He will make you realize what you have done
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: O ye who believe! Ye have charge of your own souls. He who erreth cannot injure you if ye are rightly guided. Unto Allah ye will all return; and then He will inform you of what ye used to do
The Table, The Table Spread 5:48 Noun
وَأَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَمُهَیۡمِنًا عَلَیۡهِۖ فَٱحۡكُم بَیۡنَهُم بِمَاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡ عَمَّا جَاۤءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ لِكُلࣲّ جَعَلۡنَا مِنكُمۡ شِرۡعَةࣰ وَمِنۡهَاجࣰاۚ وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَلَـٰكِن لِّیَبۡلُوَكُمۡ فِی مَاۤ ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۖ فَٱسۡتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ فِیهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ
Abdel Haleem: We sent to you [Muhammad] the Scripture with the truth, confirming the Scriptures that came before it, and with final authority over them: so judge between them according to what God has sent down. Do not follow their whims, which deviate from the truth that has come to you. We have assigned a law and a path to each of you. If God had so willed, He would have made you one community, but He wanted to test you through that which He has given you, so race to do good: you will all return to God and He will make clear to you the matters you differed about
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And unto thee have We revealed the Scripture with the truth, confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a watcher over it. So judge between them by that which Allah hath revealed, and follow not their desires away from the truth which hath come unto thee. For each We have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way. Had Allah willed He could have made you one community. But that He may try you by that which He hath given you (He hath made you as ye are). So vie one with another in good works. Unto Allah ye will all return, and He will then inform you of that wherein ye differ
Cattle, Livestock 6:108 Noun
وَلَا تَسُبُّوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَیَسُبُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَدۡوَۢا بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۗ كَذَ ٰلِكَ زَیَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٠٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah , lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do
Abdel Haleem: [Believers], do not revile those they call on beside God in case they, in their hostility and ignorance, revile God. To each community We make their own actions seem alluring, but in the end they will return to their Lord and He will inform them of all they did
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Revile not those unto whom they pray beside Allah lest they wrongfully revile Allah through ignorance. Thus unto every nation have We made their deed seem fair. Then unto their Lord is their return, and He will tell them what they used to do
Cattle, Livestock 6:164 Noun
قُلۡ أَغَیۡرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبۡغِی رَبࣰّا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲۚ وَلَا تَكۡسِبُ كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ إِلَّا عَلَیۡهَاۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ فِیهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝١٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Say, "Is it other than Allah I should desire as a lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
Abdel Haleem: Say, ‘Should I seek a Lord other than God, when He is the Lord of all things?’ Each soul is responsible for its own actions; no soul will bear the burden of another. You will all return to your Lord in the end, and He will tell you the truth about your differences
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Say: Shall I seek another than Allah for Lord, when He is Lord of all things? Each soul earneth only on its own account, nor doth any laden bear another's load. Then unto your Lord is your return and He will tell you that wherein ye differed
Cattle, Livestock 6:60 Noun
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یَتَوَفَّىٰكُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا جَرَحۡتُم بِٱلنَّهَارِ ثُمَّ یَبۡعَثُكُمۡ فِیهِ لِیُقۡضَىٰۤ أَجَلࣱ مُّسَمࣰّىۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ ثُمَّ یُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٦٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And it is He who takes your souls by night and knows what you have committed by day. Then He revives you therein that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you about what you used to do
Abdel Haleem: It is He who calls your souls back by night, knowing what you have done by day, then raises you up again in the daytime until your fixed term is fulfilled. It is to Him that you will return in the end, and He will tell you what you have done
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He it is Who gathereth you at night and knoweth that which ye commit by day. Then He raiseth you again to life therein, that the term appointed (for you) may be accomplished. And afterward unto Him is your return. Then He will proclaim unto you what ye used to do
The Morning Star, The Nightcomer 86:11 Noun
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): By the sky which returns [rain]
Abdel Haleem: By the sky and its recurring rain

The Morning Star, The Nightcomer 86:8 Noun
إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Indeed, Allah , to return him [to life], is Able
