55:1 ›
۞ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ۝١
Amatul Rahman Omar
The Most Gracious (God
al-raḥmān
55:2 ›
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ۝٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Has taught this Qur'an
khalaqa l-insān
55:3 ›
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ ۝٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
He created human being
Khalaqa al-insana
55:4 ›
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَیَانَ ۝٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
And taught him (the art of) intelligent and distinct speech
al-shamsu wal-qamaru biḥus'bāni
55:5 ›
ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانࣲ ۝٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
The sun and the moon pursue their scheduled courses on their axis according to a fixed reckonin
Alshshamsu waalqamaru bihusbanin
55:6 ›
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ یَسۡجُدَانِ ۝٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
And the stemless plants and the trees humbly submit (to His will)
wal-najmu wal-shajaru yasjudān
55:7 ›
وَٱلسَّمَاۤءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِیزَانَ ۝٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
And He raised the heaven high and set up the (law of) harmony and balanc
wal-samāa rafaʿahā wawaḍaʿa l-mīzān
55:8 ›
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡا۟ فِی ٱلۡمِیزَانِ ۝٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
(He explains this to you) that you should not violate the (law of) harmony and balance
allā taṭghaw fī l-mīzān
55:9 ›
وَأَقِیمُوا۟ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُوا۟ ٱلۡمِیزَانَ ۝٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
Hold balance with justice (giving every one his due avoiding extremes). Do not disturb the (law of) harmony in the least
wa-aqīmū l-wazna bil-qis'ṭi walā tukh'sirū l-mīzān
55:10 ›
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ ۝١٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
And He has set the earth for (the common good of) all (His) creatures
wal-arḍa waḍaʿahā lil'anām
55:11 ›
فِیهَا فَـٰكِهَةࣱ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ ۝١١
Amatul Rahman Omar
In it there are all kinds of fruit and palm-trees (laden) with sheathed clusters
fīhā fākihatun wal-nakhlu dhātu l-akmām
55:12 ›
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّیۡحَانُ ۝١٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
And the grains with the husk-coverings and fragrant flowery plants
wal-ḥabu dhū l-ʿaṣfi wal-rayḥān
55:13 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain (believers and disbelievers), then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:14 ›
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ ۝١٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
He created human being from the essence extracted from dry ringing clay like a piece of baked pottery (-with the faculty of speech and possessing pliant and submissive nature)
khalaqa l-insāna min ṣalṣālin kal-fakhār
55:15 ›
وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَاۤنَّ مِن مَّارِجࣲ مِّن نَّارࣲ ۝١٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
And He created the jinn from a flame of fire (- possessing fiery nature)
wakhalaqa l-jāna min mārijin min nāri
55:16 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:17 ›
رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَیۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَیۡنِ ۝١٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
(He is) the Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests
rabbu l-mashriqayni warabbu l-maghribayn
55:18 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:19 ›
مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَیۡنِ یَلۡتَقِیَانِ ۝١٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
He has let the two bodies of water flow freely they will (one day) join together
maraja l-baḥrayni yaltaqiyān
55:20 ›
بَیۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخࣱ لَّا یَبۡغِیَانِ ۝٢٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
(At present) a barrier stands between them. They cannot encroach one upon the other
baynahumā barzakhun lā yabghiyān
55:21 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢١
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:22 ›
یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ۝٢٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Pearls and corals come out of both (these seas)
yakhruju min'humā l-lu'lu-u wal-marjān
55:23 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٣

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:24 ›
وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَءَاتُ فِی ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَـٰمِ ۝٢٤

And to Him belong the ships raised aloft in the sea like mountain peaks
walahu l-jawāri l-munshaātu fī l-baḥri kal-aʿlām
55:25 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٥

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
2 Judgment of the Guilty
55:26 ›
كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَیۡهَا فَانࣲ ۝٢٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
All that is on it (- the earth) is subject to decay and doomed to pass away
kullu man ʿalayhā fāni
55:27 ›
وَیَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ۝٢٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
But (only) the Majesty of your Lord and that which is under the care of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Honour endures for ever
wayabqā wajhu rabbika dhū l-jalāli wal-ik'rām
55:28 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٨

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:29 ›
یَسۡءَلُهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ یَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِی شَأۡنࣲ ۝٢٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
All of the rational beings that are in the heavens and on the earth do beg of Him. Every moment He manifests Himself in a new state (of glory)
yasaluhu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi kulla yawmin huwa fī shani
55:30 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:31 ›
سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَیُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ ۝٣١
Amatul Rahman Omar
We shall reckon with you O you two big groups (of the righteous and the rebellious)
sanafrughu lakum ayyuha l-thaqalān
55:32 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٢

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:33 ›
یَـٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَـٰنࣲ ۝٣٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
O body of jinn (- fiery natured) and (ordinary) the people! If you have the power and capacity to go beyond the confines of the heavens and the earth, then do go. But you will not be able to go unless you have the necessary and unusual power
yāmaʿshara l-jini wal-insi ini is'taṭaʿtum an tanfudhū min aqṭāri l-samāwāti wal-arḍi fa-unfudhū lā tanfudhūna illā bisul'ṭāni
55:34 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:35 ›
یُرۡسَلُ عَلَیۡكُمَا شُوَاظࣱ مِّن نَّارࣲ وَنُحَاسࣱ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ ۝٣٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
Flames of fire, smoke and molten copper will be let loose upon you and you will not be able to defend yourselves
yur'salu ʿalaykumā shuwāẓun min nārin wanuḥāsun falā tantaṣirān
55:36 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:37 ›
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةࣰ كَٱلدِّهَانِ ۝٣٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
And when the heaven splits up and turns crimson like red hide (how will you fare then)
fa-idhā inshaqqati l-samāu fakānat wardatan kal-dihān
55:38 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:39 ›
فَیَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّا یُسۡءَلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦۤ إِنسࣱ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٣٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
On that day none of people nor of jinn will be questioned about his sin
fayawma-idhin lā yus'alu ʿan dhanbihi insun walā jānnu
55:40 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:41 ›
یُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِیمَـٰهُمۡ فَیُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَ ٰصِی وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ ۝٤١
Amatul Rahman Omar
The guilty will be known by their appearance (and the expression of their faces), then they will be seized by (their) forelocks and the feet
yuʿ'rafu l-muj'rimūna bisīmāhum fayu'khadhu bil-nawāṣī wal-aqdām
55:42 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:43 ›
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِی یُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ ۝٤٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
(They will be told) `This is the Gehenna that the guilty have cried lies to
hādhihi jahannamu allatī yukadhibu bihā l-muj'rimūn
55:44 ›
یَطُوفُونَ بَیۡنَهَا وَبَیۡنَ حَمِیمٍ ءَانࣲ ۝٤٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
`They will take turns (restlessly) between it (- the hell-fire) and boiling hot liquid.
yaṭūfūna baynahā wabayna ḥamīmin āni
55:45 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٥

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
3 Reward of the Righteous
55:46 ›
وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ ۝٤٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
There are two Gardens (of bliss here and the Hereafter) for such as fear (the time) when they will stand before (the judgment seat of) your Lord (to account for their deeds)
waliman khāfa maqāma rabbihi jannatān
55:47 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٧

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:48 ›
ذَوَاتَاۤ أَفۡنَانࣲ ۝٤٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
Both (the Gardens of Paradise) are abounding in varieties (of trees and rich greenery accompanied with delightful comforts)
dhawātā afnāni
55:49 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٩

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:50 ›
فِیهِمَا عَیۡنَانِ تَجۡرِیَانِ ۝٥٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
There are two springs flowing (free) in each of them
fīhimā ʿaynāni tajriyān
55:51 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥١

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:52 ›
فِیهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةࣲ زَوۡجَانِ ۝٥٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
In both of these (Gardens) there are fruit of all kinds in two varieties
fīhimā min kulli fākihatin zawjān
55:53 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord, will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:54 ›
مُتَّكِءِینَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَاۤىِٕنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقࣲۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَیۡنِ دَانࣲ ۝٥٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
They (- the owners of Paradise) will be reclining (on couches) over carpets, the linings of which will be of thick brocade. And the ripe fruit of both the Gardens will be bending (so) low (as to be within their easy reach to pluck)
muttakiīna ʿalā furushin baṭāinuhā min is'tabraqin wajanā l-janatayni dāni
55:55 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:56 ›
فِیهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَ ٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ یَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسࣱ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٥٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
There they shall have (chaste and modest) maidens restraining their glances (to look at them only), whom (in this state) neither man nor jinn has ever touched before them
fīhinna qāṣirātu l-ṭarfi lam yaṭmith'hunna insun qablahum walā jānnu
55:57 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:58 ›
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡیَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ۝٥٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
(These maidens will look) as if they were (made of) rubies and small pearls
ka-annahunna l-yāqūtu wal-marjān
55:59 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:60 ›
هَلۡ جَزَاۤءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنُ ۝٦٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Goodness alone is the reward of goodness
hal jazāu l-iḥ'sāni illā l-iḥ'sān
55:61 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦١
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefections of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:62 ›
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ۝٦٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
And besides these two (Paradises) there are two other Gardens
wamin dūnihimā jannatān
55:63 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:64 ›
مُدۡهَاۤمَّتَانِ ۝٦٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Both of them are dark green with thick foliage
mud'hāmmatān
55:65 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:66 ›
فِیهِمَا عَیۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ۝٦٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
Both of these two have two springs gushing forth
fīhimā ʿaynāni naḍḍākhatān
55:67 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٧

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:68 ›
فِیهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةࣱ وَنَخۡلࣱ وَرُمَّانࣱ ۝٦٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
Both of these two have all kinds of fruit and dates and pomegranate
fīhimā fākihatun wanakhlun warummānu
55:69 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٩

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:70 ›
فِیهِنَّ خَیۡرَ ٰتٌ حِسَانࣱ ۝٧٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Therein will be (maidens) pious (and) beautiful
fīhinna khayrātun ḥisānu
55:71 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧١
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:72 ›
حُورࣱ مَّقۡصُورَ ٰتࣱ فِی ٱلۡخِیَامِ ۝٧٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Pure and chaste houris confined to (their goodly) pavilions (enjoying the shade of God`s mercy)
ḥūrun maqṣūrātun fī l-khiyām
55:73 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٣

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:74 ›
لَمۡ یَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسࣱ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٧٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Whom neither man nor jinn has ever touched before them (in this state)
lam yaṭmith'hunna insun qablahum walā jānnu
55:75 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:76 ›
مُتَّكِءِینَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرࣲ وَعَبۡقَرِیٍّ حِسَانࣲ ۝٧٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
(The owners of Paradise will be) reclining on green cushions and rich carpets of lovely beauty
muttakiīna ʿalā rafrafin khuḍ'rin waʿabqariyyin ḥisāni
55:77 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٧

Which of the benefactions of your Lord will you twain, then, deny
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:78 ›
