55:1 ›
۞ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ۝١

The True Merciful (God)!
al-raḥmān
55:2 ›
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ۝٢
MunirMezyed2023
It is He Who taught the Qur’ān.
khalaqa l-insān
55:3 ›
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ ۝٣
MunirMezyed2023
He created man.
Khalaqa al-insana
55:4 ›
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَیَانَ ۝٤
MunirMezyed2023
He taught him the art of articulation.
al-shamsu wal-qamaru biḥus'bāni
55:5 ›
ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانࣲ ۝٥
MunirMezyed2023
The sun and the moon are made punctual.
Alshshamsu waalqamaru bihusbanin
55:6 ›
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ یَسۡجُدَانِ ۝٦

The herbage and the trees do prostrate.
wal-najmu wal-shajaru yasjudān
55:7 ›
وَٱلسَّمَاۤءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِیزَانَ ۝٧

The heavens, He raised it high. And He set up the scale
wal-samāa rafaʿahā wawaḍaʿa l-mīzān
55:8 ›
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡا۟ فِی ٱلۡمِیزَانِ ۝٨
MunirMezyed2023
So that you do not transgress the scales.
allā taṭghaw fī l-mīzān
55:9 ›
وَأَقِیمُوا۟ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُوا۟ ٱلۡمِیزَانَ ۝٩

Now, therefore, maintain the scale with equity and do not fall short of the measure.
wa-aqīmū l-wazna bil-qis'ṭi walā tukh'sirū l-mīzān
55:10 ›
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ ۝١٠

And the earth, He laid it for the creatures.
wal-arḍa waḍaʿahā lil'anām
55:11 ›
فِیهَا فَـٰكِهَةࣱ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ ۝١١

Therein are fruit and palm-trees with sheaths,
fīhā fākihatun wal-nakhlu dhātu l-akmām
55:12 ›
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّیۡحَانُ ۝١٢

And also husked grain and aromatic basil.
wal-ḥabu dhū l-ʿaṣfi wal-rayḥān
55:13 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٣

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:14 ›
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ ۝١٤

He created man from dry clay like baked pottery;
khalaqa l-insāna min ṣalṣālin kal-fakhār
55:15 ›
وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَاۤنَّ مِن مَّارِجࣲ مِّن نَّارࣲ ۝١٥
MunirMezyed2023
Where as He created the Jinn from smokeless flame of fire.
wakhalaqa l-jāna min mārijin min nāri
55:16 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٦

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:17 ›
رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَیۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَیۡنِ ۝١٧

He is the Lord of the East and the West.
rabbu l-mashriqayni warabbu l-maghribayn
55:18 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝١٨

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:19 ›
مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَیۡنِ یَلۡتَقِیَانِ ۝١٩

He released the two seas, meeting (side by side).
maraja l-baḥrayni yaltaqiyān
55:20 ›
بَیۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخࣱ لَّا یَبۡغِیَانِ ۝٢٠

Between them is a barrier so neither of them can transgress.
baynahumā barzakhun lā yabghiyān
55:21 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢١

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:22 ›
یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ۝٢٢

There comes forth from both of them pearl and coral.
yakhruju min'humā l-lu'lu-u wal-marjān
55:23 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٣

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:24 ›
وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَءَاتُ فِی ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَـٰمِ ۝٢٤

And His are the ships displayed upon the sea like mountains.
walahu l-jawāri l-munshaātu fī l-baḥri kal-aʿlām
55:25 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٥

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
2 Judgment of the Guilty
55:26 ›
كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَیۡهَا فَانࣲ ۝٢٦
MunirMezyed2023
All that on the earth is bound to perish.
kullu man ʿalayhā fāni
55:27 ›
وَیَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ۝٢٧

But will remain (for ever) the Face of your Lord, the Lord of Majesty and Honor.
wayabqā wajhu rabbika dhū l-jalāli wal-ik'rām
55:28 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٢٨

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:29 ›
یَسۡءَلُهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ یَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِی شَأۡنࣲ ۝٢٩
MunirMezyed2023
All those in the heavens and on the earth depend on Him. Every day He is in a (new) splendorous manifestation.
yasaluhu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi kulla yawmin huwa fī shani
55:30 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٠

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:31 ›
سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَیُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ ۝٣١
MunirMezyed2023
We shall call you to account, O’ you two prominent beings, (mankind & jinn).
sanafrughu lakum ayyuha l-thaqalān
55:32 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٢

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:33 ›
یَـٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَـٰنࣲ ۝٣٣
MunirMezyed2023
O’ company of jinn and mankind, if you (think that you) are capable of passing through the regions of the heavens and earth, then pass through. But you will not be able to pass through except with power and authority.
yāmaʿshara l-jini wal-insi ini is'taṭaʿtum an tanfudhū min aqṭāri l-samāwāti wal-arḍi fa-unfudhū lā tanfudhūna illā bisul'ṭāni
55:34 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٤

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:35 ›
یُرۡسَلُ عَلَیۡكُمَا شُوَاظࣱ مِّن نَّارࣲ وَنُحَاسࣱ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ ۝٣٥
MunirMezyed2023
There will be sent upon you both flames of fire and sparks of brass, then you will be unable to protect your own selves.
yur'salu ʿalaykumā shuwāẓun min nārin wanuḥāsun falā tantaṣirān
55:36 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٦

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:37 ›
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةࣰ كَٱلدِّهَانِ ۝٣٧

When the sky is rent asunder, it becomes red like murky oil.
fa-idhā inshaqqati l-samāu fakānat wardatan kal-dihān
55:38 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٣٨

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:39 ›
فَیَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّا یُسۡءَلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦۤ إِنسࣱ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٣٩

On that day neither man nor jinni will be asked about his sin!
fayawma-idhin lā yus'alu ʿan dhanbihi insun walā jānnu
55:40 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٠

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:41 ›
یُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِیمَـٰهُمۡ فَیُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَ ٰصِی وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ ۝٤١
MunirMezyed2023
The Ungodly Sinners will be recognized by their marks. They will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.
yuʿ'rafu l-muj'rimūna bisīmāhum fayu'khadhu bil-nawāṣī wal-aqdām
55:42 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٢

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:43 ›
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِی یُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ ۝٤٣
MunirMezyed2023
This is Gehenna which the Ungodly Sinners were inclined to deny.
hādhihi jahannamu allatī yukadhibu bihā l-muj'rimūn
55:44 ›
یَطُوفُونَ بَیۡنَهَا وَبَیۡنَ حَمِیمٍ ءَانࣲ ۝٤٤
MunirMezyed2023
They will be (compelled to) go round between it and between scalding boiling water.
yaṭūfūna baynahā wabayna ḥamīmin āni
55:45 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٥

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
3 Reward of the Righteous
55:46 ›
وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ ۝٤٦
MunirMezyed2023
But for him who stands in awe of the absolute majesty and glory of his Lord, there are two gardens -
waliman khāfa maqāma rabbihi jannatān
55:47 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٧

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?-
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:48 ›
ذَوَاتَاۤ أَفۡنَانࣲ ۝٤٨
MunirMezyed2023
Containing various trees!
dhawātā afnāni
55:49 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٤٩

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:50 ›
فِیهِمَا عَیۡنَانِ تَجۡرِیَانِ ۝٥٠
MunirMezyed2023
Therein are two flowing springs.
fīhimā ʿaynāni tajriyān
55:51 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥١

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:52 ›
فِیهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةࣲ زَوۡجَانِ ۝٥٢

In the two gardens are pairs of every fruit.
fīhimā min kulli fākihatin zawjān
55:53 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٣

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:54 ›
مُتَّكِءِینَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَاۤىِٕنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقࣲۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَیۡنِ دَانࣲ ۝٥٤
MunirMezyed2023
(The Denizens of Al-Jannah) will recline on couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens are within reach.
muttakiīna ʿalā furushin baṭāinuhā min is'tabraqin wajanā l-janatayni dāni
55:55 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٥

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:56 ›
فِیهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَ ٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ یَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسࣱ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٥٦

Therein are bashful maidens whom neither man nor jinni has ever touched them before-
fīhinna qāṣirātu l-ṭarfi lam yaṭmith'hunna insun qablahum walā jānnu
55:57 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٧

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?-
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:58 ›
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡیَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ۝٥٨

As though they were rubies and coral.
ka-annahunna l-yāqūtu wal-marjān
55:59 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٥٩

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:60 ›
هَلۡ جَزَاۤءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنُ ۝٦٠

Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness?
hal jazāu l-iḥ'sāni illā l-iḥ'sān
55:61 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦١

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:62 ›
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ۝٦٢
MunirMezyed2023
Beside these two, there are two other gardens -
wamin dūnihimā jannatān
55:63 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٣

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?-
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:64 ›
مُدۡهَاۤمَّتَانِ ۝٦٤
MunirMezyed2023
Dark-green.
mud'hāmmatān
55:65 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٥

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:66 ›
فِیهِمَا عَیۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ۝٦٦

Therein are two abundant springs.
fīhimā ʿaynāni naḍḍākhatān
55:67 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٧

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:68 ›
فِیهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةࣱ وَنَخۡلࣱ وَرُمَّانࣱ ۝٦٨

Therein are fruit, palms and pomegranates.
fīhimā fākihatun wanakhlun warummānu
55:69 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٦٩

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:70 ›
فِیهِنَّ خَیۡرَ ٰتٌ حِسَانࣱ ۝٧٠

Therein are maidens, noble and gorgeous -
fīhinna khayrātun ḥisānu
55:71 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧١

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?-
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:72 ›
حُورࣱ مَّقۡصُورَ ٰتࣱ فِی ٱلۡخِیَامِ ۝٧٢

With wide, lovely black eyes, dwelling in pavilions.
ḥūrun maqṣūrātun fī l-khiyām
55:73 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٣

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?-
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:74 ›
لَمۡ یَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسࣱ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَاۤنࣱّ ۝٧٤

Neither human nor jinn will have touched them before.
lam yaṭmith'hunna insun qablahum walā jānnu
55:75 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٥

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:76 ›
مُتَّكِءِینَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرࣲ وَعَبۡقَرِیٍّ حِسَانࣲ ۝٧٦
MunirMezyed2023
(The Denizens of Al-Jannah) will recline on green cushions and fine carpets.
muttakiīna ʿalā rafrafin khuḍ'rin waʿabqariyyin ḥisāni
55:77 ›
فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ۝٧٧

Then, which is it, of the marvels of your Lord, that you, (O’ mankind & jinn), seek to deny?
fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukadhibān
55:78 ›
تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِی ٱلۡجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ۝٧٨
