And We revealed V
إِلَيْكَ ilayka

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ l-kitāba

بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi

مُصَدِّقًا muṣaddiqan
confirming Noun
لِّمَا limā
what Noun
بَيْنَ bayna
(was) before Noun
يَدَيْهِ yadayhi
his hands Noun
مِنَ mina
of Prep
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ l-kitābi
the Book Noun
وَمُهَيْمِنًا wamuhayminan
and a guardian Noun
عَلَيْهِ ʿalayhi
over it Prep
فَٱحْكُم fa-uḥ'kum
So judge V
بَيْنَهُم baynahum
between them Noun
بِمَآ bimā
by what Noun
أَنزَلَ anzala
has revealed V
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu
Allah Noun
وَلَا walā
and (do) not Prep
تَتَّبِعْ tattabiʿ
follow V
أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ahwāahum
their vain desires Noun
عَمَّا ʿammā
when Prep
جَآءَكَ jāaka
has come to you V
مِنَ mina
of Prep
ٱلْحَقِّ l-ḥaqi
the truth Noun
لِكُلٍّ likullin
For each Noun
جَعَلْنَا jaʿalnā
We have made V
مِنكُمْ minkum
for you Prep
شِرْعَةً shir'ʿatan
a law Noun
وَمِنْهَاجًا wamin'hājan
and a clear way Noun
وَلَوْ walaw
And if Prep
شَآءَ shāa
(had) willed V
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu
Allah Noun
لَجَعَلَكُمْ lajaʿalakum
He (would have) made you V
أُمَّةً ummatan
a community Noun
وَٰحِدَةً wāḥidatan
one Noun
وَلَٰكِن walākin
[and] but Prep
لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ liyabluwakum
to test you V
فِى fī
in Prep
مَآ mā
what Noun
ءَاتَىٰكُمْ ātākum
He (has) given you V
فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ fa-is'tabiqū
so race V
ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ l-khayrāti
(to) the good Noun
إِلَى ilā
To Prep
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi
Allah Noun
مَرْجِعُكُمْ marjiʿukum
you will return Noun
جَمِيعًا jamīʿan
all Noun
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم fayunabbi-ukum
then He will inform you V
بِمَا bimā
of what Noun
كُنتُمْ kuntum
you were V
فِيهِ fīhi
concerning it Prep
تَخْتَلِفُونَ takhtalifūna
differing V

We sent to you [Muhammad] the Scripture with the truth, confirming the Scriptures that came before it, and with final authority over them: so judge between them according to what God has sent down. Do not follow their whims, which deviate from the truth that has come to you. We have assigned a law and a path to each of you. If God had so willed, He would have made you one community, but He wanted to test you through that which He has given you, so race to do good: you will all return to God and He will make clear to you the matters you differed about

وَأَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَمُهَیۡمِنًا عَلَیۡهِۖ فَٱحۡكُم بَیۡنَهُم بِمَاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡ عَمَّا جَاۤءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ لِكُلࣲّ جَعَلۡنَا مِنكُمۡ شِرۡعَةࣰ وَمِنۡهَاجࣰاۚ وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَلَـٰكِن لِّیَبۡلُوَكُمۡ فِی مَاۤ ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۖ فَٱسۡتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ فِیهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝٤٨

wa-anzalnā ilayka l-kitāba bil-ḥaqi muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi mina l-kitābi wamuhayminan ʿalayhi fa-uḥ'kum baynahum bimā anzala l-lahu walā tattabiʿ ahwāahum ʿammā jāaka mina l-ḥaqi likullin jaʿalnā minkum shir'ʿatan wamin'hājan walaw shāa l-lahu lajaʿalakum ummatan wāḥidatan walākin liyabluwakum fī mā ātākum fa-is'tabiqū l-khayrāti ilā l-lahi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fayunabbi-ukum bimā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūn
