أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِیعٍ ءَایَةࣰ تَعۡبَثُونَ ١٢٨
atabnūna bikulli rīʿin āyatan taʿbathūn
How can you be so vain that you set up monuments on every high place
Do you build landmark on every high palace to play for fun?
Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity
You construct monuments on every hill in vain
“Do you build mansions on every hilltop and amuse yourselves?”
Do you build a tower on every hilltop, just to amuse yourselves,
Do you futilely build a sign on every prominence
"Will you continue to build on every high spot monumental buildings for fun and show
`What is (wrong with you)? You build a monument on every prominent place, in vain you do it
What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting
Do you build a sign on every high place to fool around?
