فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِینَ ١٥٧
faʿaqarūhā fa-aṣbaḥū nādimīn
But they hamstrung her. In the morning they had cause to regret it
But they killed her, and then they became regretful,
Then they hamstrung her; and then they became regretful
But they hamstrung her; and on the morrow were repentant
(Taking no heed of this warning) they viciously slaughtered her; and became very regretful.
But they hamstrung her and woke up full of remorse,
But they hamstrung her, whereupon they became regretful
But (after a time, being unable to put up with it any longer,) they cruelly slaughtered her, and then became regretful
Notwithstanding (all this warning) they hamstrung her and then they became regretful
But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful
So, they killed her, then they became regretful.
Yet they slaughtered her and became regretful…
Still they hamstrung it, but then they became full of regrets
But they hamstrung her, then became remorseful.
But they hamstrung her, and on the morrow they repented
So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret
But they hamstrung her and thereupon they became full of regret.
But they slew her; and were made to repent of their impiety
But they hamstrung her, and on the morrow they repented
Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful
But they ham-strung her, and repented of it on the morrow
But they hamstrung her (compelling her to limp), then they became regretful —
But they crippled her and, then, it came to be in the morning that they are ones who are remorseful.
But they butchered her, and then they became full of regret.
Yet they hamstrung her, then became full of regrets
But they hamstrung her and then regretted it
But the hamstrung her, then regretted
But they stabbed her then became regretters.
And then they hamstrung her. And then they regretted
But they hamstrung her (and killed her). Then they became remorseful (because of what they did)
But they slaughtered her, and they became regretful
But they slaughtered her, and they became regretful
But they slaughtered her, and they became regretful.
So they wounded it/slaughtered it/made it infertile, so they became/became in the morning regretful/remorseful
But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it
Yet they hamstrung her, (and) so they became remorseful
But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent
They slew the she-camel, but later became regretfu
But they killed her, then they became remorseful
However, they hamstrung it, and then they became regretful.
But they killed the camel; a decision they came to regret
However, they hamstrung her, and then they became regretful.
Nevertheless they defiantly disabled her by cutting her hamstring muscles. (Their outrage on consecrated objects invited their ruin) which led to pining regrets and vain repentances
They hamstrung her, only to wake up the next day regretting it,
But they killed her, becoming regretful.
So they bled her to death, then came to regret.
Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning were repentant
They slaughtered her, and thus incurred sorrow.
But they hamstrung her and woke up fully regretful,
But they hamstrung her and woke up fully regretful
So, they hamstrung it, so they became regretful.
Then they hamstrung her, and became regretful
But they cruelly slew her; then they became regretful.
But they killed her and made way for their own humiliation. (The usual rendering here of FAASBAHOO NADIMEEN that they regretted, repented or became penitent seems to be incorrect, since in that case the Most Gracious might have forgiven them)
But they hamstrung her, then regretted
But they hamstrung her; and then they became remorseful
But they hamstrung her, and then became remorseful
But they killed her (by cutting the hamstrings): Then they became full of sorrow
But they hamstrung her, and then they became remorseful.
But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful
Then they hamstrung her, then they became repentant;
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets
