وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ ١٢٩
watattakhidhūna maṣāniʿa laʿallakum takhludūn
Do you build fortresses because you hope to be immortal
And do you take for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will reside therein forever
And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide
Erect palaces (thinking) that you will live for ever
“And make castle-like houses as though you will live forever?”
and construct great fortresses, hoping to live for ever,
You set up structures as if you will be immortal
"And make for yourselves great castles (as if) hoping that you might live for ever
`And you raise fortresses in the hope that you will abide till long
and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever
And you take up castles that you may live forever?
“You build huge palaces to live in as if you are immortal.”
“And do you build for yourselves great edifices, in the hope of living therein forever
And you set up fortresses, hoping to live eternally?
and take to works that haply ye may be immortal
“And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?”
And do you choose for yourself magnificent buildings so that you may attain everlastingness?
And do ye erect maginificent works, hoping that ye may continue in their possession for ever
"And build you fine strong buildings that per chance (or possibly) you may be immortal
And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever
And raise ye structures to be your lasting abodes
And you establish industrial units as if you will stay (in the world) permanently
And take you for yourselves castles so that perhaps you will dwell in them forever?
“Do you get fine buildings for yourselves expecting to live there forever?
Are you building strong fortresses as if you are going to live here forever
and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever
And you make fortresses that you may abide
And you take (for dwellings) strong fortresses that perhaps you may stay (in them for ever).
"And have strongly built structures to live therein forever!?"
And do you erect strongly-built palaces (having pools) with the hope of living (in the world) forever
"And you take for yourselves strongholds, perhaps you will live forever"
"Andyou take for yourselves strongholds, perhaps you will live forever?
And you take for yourselves strongholds, perhaps you will live forever?
And you take factories , maybe/perhaps you be immortal/eternal
and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal
And do you take to yourselves castles (Or: huge buildings and tombs) that possibly you may abide eternally
And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever
and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever
and take the objects of architecture as if you are going to live forever
You take for yourselves mansions as if you were going to live forever,
"You take up (residence in) large structures as if you will live (in them) forever."
You take for yourselves strongholds in hope of being eternalized.
"And you take for yourselves palatial structures as though they will protect you and exempt you from paying nature's debt and help you live forever"
and take castles as homes so you might live forever?
and construct castles, as if you are going to live forever,
And adopt fortified buildings as if you lived forever?
Vain is your work. You build strong fortresses, hoping that you may last for ever
"You set up buildings as if you last forever.
and construct for yourselves mighty castles hoping to live there eternally?

And you take, manufacture plants perhaps you may be immortal?
And you get strong buildings in the hope of living therein for ever
and make for yourselves strong structures, hoping to be immortal?
And make for yourselves mighty castles; will you thus become immortal
And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you ma
