بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ

[He did this] to make the Quraysh feel secure
Sahl al-Tustari

For the security of the Quraysh,He said:This means: for the safety sought by the Quraysh for their two journeys.

[their security during] the winter journey,to Shām [Syria], and the journey of the summer, to Yemen. We destroyed the army of Yemen thus. It is as if He were saying to the Prophet , �Remind the Quraysh of the blessing that I bestowed on them before I sent you to them.�

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ
